Brock talks about Ozzy & Sharon possibly divorcing…

I was going to post about this yesterday, so I thought I would do this today. I hate celebrity gossip and divorce news, but considering Ozzy & Sharon are an important musical couple, I thought it was worth posting about. The reason these two matter in the music business is because they helped the metal industry become more popular and more mainstream. Sharon was the one who helped start Ozzfest with Ozzy, and she helped take his solo career to the next level. She was also the one who recruited Randy Rhoads, to be Ozzy’s guitarist. She did a lot to help the metal industry, love her or hate her. I was never a big fan of Sharon myself, honestly.

Ozzy first met Sharon at the age of 18, while her father Don Arden, was managing, Black Sabbath, at the time. When Ozzy was fired, from Sabbath, Sharon took over her father’s management company and began to manage Ozzy, to get his solo career going. Over the years, Sharon and Ozzy would fight constantly but they still managed to stay together, anyway. Both of them were addicted to alcohol and drugs in their younger years.

I believe Sharon used Ozzy, so she can get fame and fortune, herself. She succeeded with her goal, and now she’s the world’s most famous music mogul, and reality TV star. It all started from the beginning when they were kids. She manipulated her way into getting it. She had a goal that she wanted, for her own future, and she would use Ozzy to get there. Around the time, Sharon started dating Ozzy back then, she wasn’t a celebrity, and now look at her. She wasn’t a celebrity up until, “The Osbournes” TV show, which lasted only two seasons (which I watched both of them sadly). “The Osbournes”, also made her kids famous, Jack and Kelly. Ozzy and Sharon, also has a third kid together (Aimee), but she didn’t want anything to do with the show,  so she was smart enough to stay out of their fame. Ozzy hated the TV show idea at first, and he wasn’t gonna go with it, but Sharon talked him into letting it happen.

She was obsessed with getting rich and famous. She didn’t get there over night, though, it took her years to get there. That’s why she couldn’t stay away from Ozzy even though the two never really got along over the years. If Ozzy never dated Sharon, then Sharon would still be nothing now. The same for Ozzy’s solo career. If Ozzy never dated Sharon, then Ozzy wouldn’t have became a big solo artist.

I honestly stopped caring for Ozzy, after he did, “The Osbournes”, TV show. After that, his music career went downhill, and he is looked at as a celebrity, rather than a rock star. Even Ozzy himself admitted his mistakes with the TV show, and regretted it, through interviews over the years. He wished the show never happened. With all this being said, I hate Sharon Osbourne too. The woman is evil. Probably worse than, Yoko Ono. While I can’t stand most of the Osbourne family, the only one I like and admire is, Kelly. Kelly is actually pretty cool. Plus, Kelly’s music is actually good, and she’s not a bad singer. She’s an inspirational and heartfelt girl, but as far as Jack goes, he’s a big douche.

Ozzy is better off without her, and I hope he’s finally starting to realize that she is evil. Even though, I’m not a big fan of Ozzy anymore, I’m still looking forward to the new Black Sabbath album. I’ve always been a big fan of Black Sabbath during the Ozzy era.

Black Sabbath reveals track listing for new album, “13”…

Black Sabbath (minus, Bill Ward), have revealed the track listing for their new upcoming album titled, “13”. The track listing is listed, here.

A lot of people are disappointed that the album have only 8 songs. If you really think that, then you must be a new fan of Black Sabbath. Almost every Black Sabbath album over the past 20 years, only had like 7 or 8 songs. Why? Because Tony and the guys always liked to jam. They’re not just about the songwriting parts. They’re about jamming and improvisation. The songs progresses as they go along. They still have that method of making music to this day. A CD can only have like 60 or 70 minutes worth of music, so they can only fit in songs that would fit the time enough perfectly.

Black Sabbath is also getting a lot of, “No Bill Ward, No Black Sabbath”, comments from the fans everywhere. To those who say that, also must be a newbie. I’ve said repeatedly that this is not the first time for Black Sabbath, their feud with Bill Ward. Bill has been difficult toward the guys for years. The guys in Sabbath has been trying to get together with Bill for the past 20 years or so, it’s just that he’s never interested. Why can’t people understand that Bill is just a greedy son of a bitch? He’s an egotist; all he cares about is the money. Stop blaming Sharon Osbourne for this ’cause that’s so absurd.

Black Sabbath is the type of band that when a member leaves, either quit or been fired, they’ve always been the, “the show must go on”, type. So yes, the show must go on. So the band says, “Fuck, Bill Ward”, and they’re moving on without him. Despite Bill Ward, not being part of this reunion, it’s still gonna be a sick and heavy album. I’m looking forward to hearing it!

That’s what a band gets for staying together for this long. Fans will get all kinds of misinformation from them, in this day and age. The band unfairly gets blamed for Bill bailing out, when they have nothing to do with it; this was all Bill’s doing himself. The band are always willing to have Bill play with them whenever he wants, Bill just needs to stop being a greedy asshole. Fuck Bill. Let him go. This is still gonna be a cool album, and I’m looking forward to it!

RIP Randy Rhoads, who died 31 years ago today…

This is where Ozzy’s solo career, actually mattered. The Randy Rhoads era. Ever since Rhoads died, Ozzy’s solo career have been irrelevant since then (with the exception of “No More Tears” and “Ozzmosis” which were very good albums). Like most guitarists, Rhoads is one of my favorites as well. I want to be able to play good lead guitar someday like that myself. I’m working on it, though! RIP Randy. He maybe gone, but his legendary guitar playing still lives on. \m/

Report: Bill Ward, Black Sabbath drummer, may pull out of reunion due to unsignable contract issues…

The original Black Sabbath drummer, Bill Ward, wrote on his official blog, that he may pull out of the Black Sabbath reunion with original members, that was originally announced on, 11/11/11. He is claiming that he never got a signable contract. He said he will stick to the reunion, if the other guys in the band gives him a signable contract.

More on the story, here.

Bill is just bullshitting like usual. To the fans that are new to Black Sabbath, this wasn’t the first time he bailed out on a reunion. He’s done it plenty of times before. Also, if you read Tony Iommi’s book, “Iron Man”, Tony said that Bill Ward was always a difficult man to deal with. Bill had trouble staying committed to the band in the past. He’s just a selfish and greedy man. I think Bill is all about the money, and not the music. Disrespectful to Tony who now has cancer.

Who needs Bill. Let him go. As long as we have Ozzy and Geezer back, that’s all we need. Some of you may say, no Bill, no Black Sabbath reunion? True that but drummers can always be replaced ’cause they’re not that really important.

I’ve said it before in the blog, that something might happen with Black Sabbath in the future, and I was right. Bill and Tony always had a hard time getting along and it’s still happening.

Kev

EDIT TO ADD: I meant to say, “Bill had trouble trying to stay committed to the band”, not Tony. My bad.

Report: So is a Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy happening or not? I’m so confused!!!

Just a while back, Tony Iommi, shoots down rumors of a possible Black Sabbath reunion with Ozzy…and now Ozzy the man himself, spoke with Billboard, and says it’s a very strong possibility.

More on the story, here.

I think it’s a possibility that it could happen as well. I think Tony and Ozzy are just teasing us. Just trying to get us guessing on whether or not it’ll happen, then out of nowhere, they’ll make it official. I hope they do make it official. A new Black Sabbath album with Ozzy and a tour would be awesome. I’m all for a Black Sabbath/Ozzy come back. I LOVE Black Sabbath. I loved both the Ozzy and Ronnie James Dio era’s.

When the Black Sabbath tour happens, they could be the biggest selling tour in the history of music. They’ll sell out every concert quickly, I’m sure.

Report: Tony Iommi to release his own autobiography later this fall…

Metal legend, Tony Iommi is set to release his own autobiography this year titled, “Iron Man: My Life With Black Sabbath and Beyond”. The book is set for a Nov. 1st release date.

Tony didn’t write this book on a computer. He just wrote it by pen and paper. Why? I’ll imagine the reason he didn’t type it because he lost the tip of a few fingers of his right hand. It be hard to type that way, right? So he had no choice but to write it by hand.

The legendary guitarist is open about everything about his life. His childhood, his freak accident at the factory he worked at where he injured his right hand, music, guitar playing, how he started Black Sabbath, how he came up with the sound of “metal” which he invented, his failed marriages, drugs, alcohol, etc.

I love to read musician biographies ’cause they are interesting to learn. I’m more interested on Tony’s insight on music. You can expect a lot of guitar playing talk mostly. I’ll also expect a lot of Ronnie James Dio talk as well. I’m interested in what made him want to pick up the guitar and how he started playing.

There’s a lot of great metal guitarists out there, but in my opinion, Tony is one of the true greats. He started it all. The founder of metal. Tony was at the top of his game back in the 60’s and 70’s, he was very popular back then. Seems like no one knows who Tony is anymore. He is a talented guitar player. I’m a huge fan of the guy.

Report: Ozzy and Tony Iommi throws out trademark lawsuit, and moves on…

A while back, Ozzy sued guitarist, Tony Iommi, accusing him of owning “Black Sabbath” trademark name all for himself. Ozzy thinks the trademark name, “Black Sabbath” should be shared with all 4 members of the band. Ozzy and Tony, have resolved their problems of the ownership name. Ozzy threw out the lawsuit and they will not head to court for this. Yep, they pretty much buried the hatchet and moved forward. It was nothing personal, it was all band business stuff.

More on it here:

Tony’s a good man for this. I think Ozzy’s ego went over the top on this and Tony must of talked Ozzy out of the lawsuit to avoid getting sued. Can’t blame him.

Report: Colin Farrell rumoured to play Ozzy in Ozzy biopic???

Perez Hilton was the first to catch the news of Colin Farrell being casted as Ozzy for the upcoming Ozzy biopic that’s in the works. Keep in mind that this is fucking Perez Hilton we’re talking here. He could be full of shit. Starting rumours just to get attention to his site.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Colin speaks out on the rumour the next day, denying this.

More on it here:

I hope it’s not true ’cause I don’t like Colin as an actor.

Ozzy admitted in Guitar World magazine that “The Osbournes” TV show destroyed his rock n’ roll image…

I just read the Ozzy Osbourne interview in this months, Guitar World magazine. At the end of the interview, the interviewer asked Ozzy if “The Osbournes” TV show killed his rock n’ roll image and career. To my surprise, Ozzy said yes it did.

I’ll type that up here, straight from the magazine itself:

GW: Do you feel that the Osbrounes television show damaged your musical career?

Ozzy: Yeah, that was kind of an experiment that went crazy. I never really watched it. I look at myself and think, what a fucking moron! What happened with that is a lot of people only know me from the show: they didn’t connect that I’ve been around for a long time before that. In fact, I was in Boston touring and this woman came up to me and said, “What are you doing in Boston?” I said, “I’m doing a show.” She said, “What kind of a show?” I said a rock show, and she looked surprised and exclaimed, “Oh you do that as well?” I thought. Fucking hell-it’s bullshit.

In Ozzy’s book, “I am Ozzy”, he said the show wasn’t his idea, it was all Sharon’s. So Ozzy went for it.

I always knew from the very start that the show killed Ozzy’s rock n’ roll image. People now know him as a celebrity, not a rock n’ roller like he once was. Plus, I think they did it, just so Sharon and the kids can get their fame as well. Sharon wanted to be celebrity too and she got it. She must love being Ozzy’s wife and manager. Personally, I think she’s been using him for fame after all this time and he’s not even realizing it.

Speaking of Ozzy, I bought and downloaded his new album “Scream” from Itunes last night. Didn’t listen to it yet, but I heard clips of it but from what I heard, the new album actually sounds very good. Ozzy needs to stay away from TV so he can get his rock n’ roller image back.

He also admitted in Guitar World, that he never had any musical training at singing. He just grabbed a PA System, singing Beatles songs and that was it. I must say that Ozzy is a hypocrite for firing Zakk Wylde for being an alcoholic ’cause that’s the reason Ozzy was fired from Black Sabbath.

Report: Black Sabbath trademark war gets the greenlight to the court room…

In May of 2009, Ozzy Osbourne filed lawsuit against guitarist Tony Iommi, both men who were members of the legendary metal band, Black Sabbath. Tony Iommi is currently full owner of the Black Sabbath band name, 100%. Ozzy is upset because he feels that all 4 members of the band (also includes Geezer Butler and Bill Ward) deserves part ownership of the name, “Black Sabbath”. The judge gives this lawsuit the “ok”, that means the war is on. This battle will go to the court room.

Things already gotten heated in the court room today as it sounds like Tony Iommi is not very happy with Ozzy ’cause Iommi’s lawyer is fighting back. Both Ozzy and Tony themselves weren’t in court today, their lawyers were. When the lawsuit proceeds to battle, maybe Tony and Ozzy will be in court personally?

Tony may own the band name, yes, but Ozzy helped him create the name. See how Ozzy would be upset? Ozzy wrote the song “Black Sabbath” for their debut album, they got the name from a horror film that starred Boris Karloff with the same title. So that’s proof that Ozzy came up with the name himself and the rest of the guys agreed to use it. Also, please try to understand that the four guys in Black Sabbath created a huge legacy over the years, that’s another reason that Ozzy feels every member deserves share of the name.

I’m totally siding with Ozzy. He’s so right. This is going to be quite the interesting war and I’ll be keeping an eye on it. I hope Ozzy wins. I’m sure he will.
