Sylvester Stallone is in Philadelphia this week for a “special something” but Sly isn’t saying anything. He’s keeping everything tight-lipped for now of what he’s in Philly for but I bet it has something to do with Rocky. As you can see, Sly visits the Rocky Balboa statue and it seems Sly is in Rocky character… wearing the Rocky hat and black leather jacket… Sly is even talking in the Rocky voice too. He has every right to be Rocky in Philly ’cause he is Rocky if that makes sense.
Anyway, the first video is Sly visiting the Rocky statue and a few minutes later, he gets mobbed by fans in Philly. As you can see in the second video, Sly was willing to hang with them for a little bit and take a group selfie with them.
It may not seem like it but Sly is a very popular actor. He’s probably one of the most popular actors in the world. He’s got fans all over the USA and he’s got fans in other countries too. His fanbase is very massive. Why? It’s because Sly rules! He’s a stand up guy with a good sense of humor, he’s very likeable plus he’s a very talented actor. Some of you may find it silly that I called him “very talented” ’cause the man is. Many of you don’t know it yet. On top of all this, the man is a freakin’ badass and a genius. I’ve always been a fan of Sly ever since I was a child and still loyal to this man to this very day.
I’ve watched his films over the years and he inspired me like everyone else. Those fans are lucky ’cause I wish I was in Philly this week so I can meet the man in person.
It seems that Sly owns the Rocky hat himself that he wore in the Rocky series over the years and it’s very rare to see him wear the Rocky hat in public… only in Philly, I guess. Even though Sylvester is 73 now, he still looks like Rocky with that hat on.
Thought this was very cool.
Sly Stallone has been announced as the first guest to appear at the Keystone Comic Con event in Philadelphia in August. Sly will be there for two days to sign autographs and take pics with fans.
I’m not sure how much Sly is planning on charging fans for autographs & pics ’cause there is no info yet on the keystone website but I’m sure we’ll find out soon. Hopefully Sly won’t be charging a lot.
This wasn’t the first time Sly appeared at a Comic Con event, though. The first time he appeared at a Comic Con event was way back in 2013 at the NY Comic Con to promote the movie “Escape Plan” with Arnold. Sly did an autograph/photo op session with fans but he charged like $395 or over for autographs/pics.
I’m hoping Sly will bring the price way down for this one.
Will I go to Philly just for this? I’m thinking about it depending on the price of Sly’s autograph line.
When celebrities do Comic Con events, they make you pay for autographs and pics. The celebrities themselves decide the prices for both. Sometimes they are cheap and sometimes they are not. Some celebrities will even do it for free.
Going to Philadelphia for a couple of days would be a nice little vacation for me, though. Save up some money and get down there. I’ve never visited Philly and always wanted to, though. If I went to Keystone Comic Con, I’ll probably do some sight seeing in Philly too by visiting all the Rocky filming locations especially the Art Museum aka the Rocky steps and I want to see the Rocky statue too.
Philly is a 4 hour drive from here so it would be a nice little road trip. Hopefully Sly won’t be charging so much for autographs/pics. If he is then forget it. I would love to meet the man in person someday, though. Talk to him for a little bit, get his autograph and picture with him. Would be a dream come true. On my bucket list to meet Sly in person.
Sly is in Philadelphia still working hard on filming, “Creed 2”. Of course, during break of filming, Sly had to do some reminiscing about the history of Rocky by visiting some old filming locations. See Sly’s instagram for more.
Sadly, Mick’s gym is closed down and Adrian’s Pet Shop got demolished like last year.
I can’t blame Sly for wanting to visit old Rocky filming locations and reminisce the past. Rocky means a lot to Sly and you can tell that he LOVES playing the character. When Sly filmed the very first Rocky, he was pretty young back then. Sly was just 30 years old when he filmed the first Rocky. Back then, he wasn’t a rich man at all like other movie stars. Now after that first Rocky movie, Sly is a superstar and icon in Hollywood. He did it all himself really.
One day I would love to visit Philadelphia so I can see all the Rocky locations with my own eyes. I would especially love to try running the art museum stairs and see the Rocky statue!
I never realized Sly Stallone had his own instagram page. Check it out here:
As you can see, Sly’s got a bunch of videos on there that he probably took from his mobile phone or something. You’d be surprised to see that Sly is just a normal guy just like the rest of us. He’s got a lot of stuff in Philly while filming the movie, “Creed”. As I expected, he seems pretty happy to be back there and he even had a video about moving back there, I’m sure he was just joking of course.
A huge fight broke out between actor/pro boxer Tony Bellew who plays the character, Pretty Ricky and another actor — when things got really heated, Sly of course had to jump in. A source said that Sly started screaming and ordering it to stop. Of course, they did.
More on the story here:
So Sly the peacemaker. No surprise there. That’s what you get when you have a real life pro boxer on a movie set, you’ll have to deal with a lot of egos. They were quick at stopping the fight when Sly jumped in ’cause why? Well, he’s Sylvester Stallone for one. A legend. Plus, Sly is a huge guy, muscular and ripped. I’m sure the two guys shut their mouths real fast when Sly showed up. You don’t mess with Sly.
Something tells me Sly have done this before on movie sets… stopping fights so this is nothing new with him, I’m sure.
Sylvester Stallone is back in Philadelphia to film the Rocky spin-off film, “Creed”. While there, I’m sure Sly couldn’t help himself but look back and re-visit all the old filming locations for all the past “Rocky” films. A group of tourists went to the Philly Art Museum where Rocky did his famous training scenes by running up the steps. The group of tourists ran up the steps just like in the Rocky films and at the top of the steps, Sly the man himself happened to be there. The group of tourists and Sly decided to hang out for a little bit and take photos as you see above.
Oh man, those guys are lucky! I wish I could get my chance to meet Sly in person! As you can see, Sly is great with his fans and his supporters.
It had to be pretty emotional for Sly to re-visit his old Rocky film locations. I wonder if he went to visit Micky’s old gym. I’m sure he did. I also wondered if Sly re-visited Rocky’s apartment (remember, it was a shit hole). Not sure if Rocky’s old apartment is still there or not. We might even see these locations again in the “Creed” film including the Art Museum.
Videos below. Enjoy Springsteen fans.
