Saw “Avengers: Endgame” last night… best superhero film since “The Dark Knight”…

Went and saw “Avengers: Endgame” last night in the movie theaters. A few friends of mine invited me over the weekend so I said “Yes, I’m definitely down” and so I went with them.

I’m a huge Avengers fan. Saw all the films in theater and re-watched them all on BluRay last week. Now that the fourth Avengers film, “Endgame” is finally here, I went and saw it last night. After the movie was over three hours later, I was like, “Wow”… my mind was blown. Honestly, I was expecting the film to be “okay” or “pretty good” but it ended up being more than “okay or “pretty good”. The film turned out to be amazing and it’s definitely a masterpiece. If there was a superhero film that deserves to win “Best Picture” in the Oscars for the first time, “Avengers: Endgame” should definitely get that award even though it would never happen.

I really was blown away and speechless when the movie got over with. The film had a great story and great plot. The film was well-acted by everyone in the cast. The film has a crowded cast and it’s mostly big name stars all over. They all did a great job but I was most impressed with Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. Those three guys are great actors for sure. Yeah, Mark Ruffalo is a die-hard liberal and his political views are awful but still, his acting talent can’t be denied. I was impressed with the direction of the film too as the Russo brothers did a great job.

The film had many emotions throughout the film… it can be enjoyable, funny, sad, intense and action packed. While the previous three Avengers movies had some pretty good action scenes, I thought the action scenes in “Endgame” were a blast to watch, though. The action scenes in “Endgame” gave me goosebumps and I was fucking floored. Holy crap!

This is a non-spoiler review so I’m not going to talk about the story at all. Just what I think of it and that’s it ’cause there are some big surprises in the film.

I thought it was a very impressive movie and definitely the best superhero film I’ve seen in years. Yep, “Endgame” is definitely gonna be the final Avengers film. I don’t see how it could continue after this. It’s all over for the Avengers so it’s an end of era. It’s understandable ’cause Robert Downey Jr. spent years and years playing Iron Man and he wants to move from the character finally.

Even though it was a three hour movie, it certainly didn’t feel like it ’cause it went by fast due to the pacing.

Before you see this movie, though, I suggest you see the first three films first ’cause if you don’t… you’re going to get completely confused of the story so definitely watch ’em all in order.

I definitely loved the film and can’t wait for the BluRay already.

RIP Stan Lee: 1922 – 2018…

stan-lee-dead.jpg

I wasn’t a huge Marvel fan but I respected Stan Lee the genius that he really was. He was the man who brought us Spiderman, X-Men, The Punisher, Deadpool, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Incredible Hulk, etc. The list goes on and on. He also had cameo roles in almost every Marvel film there is.

I didn’t read a lot of Marvel comics but I’ve seen plenty of Marvel films over the years.

A sad loss in the world of comics and Hollywood. Thank you Stan for the entertainment.

Just saw “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” and it was great…

I don’t do movie reviews much anymore ’cause I’m getting kind of bored of ’em and on top of that, I’m losing interest in seeing new movies lately. Nothing really good out these days, ya know? I did see a good movie finally and that’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” so I’ll briefly review that one.

The movie was fun and entertaining like the first one was except I thought the 2nd one was way better than the first. Casting of the 2nd movie was great. Michael Rooker was awesome and so was Kurt Russell. Like usual Kurt Russell kills it like he does in every movie he stars in. It was awesome seeing Kurt and Michael Rooker play in a movie together. The story was good. The jokes in the movie were hilarious as I couldn’t help myself but crack up at some of the jokes in the movie. Some of it even got me laughing. The action was a blast to watch, though.

While the movie was fun and entertaining, I was most impressed with Sly’s cameo. Sly Stallone was in the movie but not very much. Sly played a character named Stakar Ogord. Even though his role was small, Stallone is already getting so much attention out of that character. There’s already a lot of demand that fans wants to see more of Stakar and I agree. That character was awesome & Sly did a great job playing him. It was cool seeing Sly and Michael Rooker in a same scene together. This wasn’t the first time those two starred in a movie together as they were in “Cliffhanger” together, remember that movie? We need to see more Stakar, so hopefully Sly’s character gets his own solo movie or he’ll be in more of “Guardians 3”.

So did Sly Stallone and Kurt Russell reunite? Well, it’s not what you think so no. While Sly and Kurt were in the same movie together, they never played in any scenes together at all which kind of sucks. I was hoping for some sort of Tango & Cash reunion myself but we never got that unfortunately. I’m sure Sly and Kurt hung out some on set behind the scenes as I’m sure those guys are still great friends.

One thing for sure, I’m so impressed with Dave Bautista’s acting skills. Most professional wrestlers that turn into actors don’t have good acting skills (yeah, Dwayne Johnson is not that good of an actor) but I’m impressed with Dave. Most guys with big muscles are horrible at acting but Dave’s got the skills. If you want to know why Dave is starring in a lot of big movies lately and why he’s doing so great in the industry is ’cause he’s a good actor. I always knew that Dave was a good actor ’cause I used to watch him in WWE back in the day. Once again, Dave is one wrestler actor who has actual talent. He may be a huge guy with big muscles but he also has a good speaking voice. I just like his voice, it’s so badass.

“Guardians 2” was a great movie and I’m definitely getting it on Blu Ray when it comes out. If you’re a fan of superhero flicks, you should definitely see this yourself.

“The Avengers: Age of Ultron” trailer is finally here and it looks freakin’ badass!!!

Despite Loki not having anything to do with this film, the new Avengers movie still looks bad ass! Looks even better than the first. The new one looks very exciting.

I know this movie is gonna get a lot of critics ’cause of the CGI and stuff but it’s just a movie, ya know?

“Age of Ultron” looks awesome and I’ll be there for this one for sure.

Film Review: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”…

Starring: Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Redford

Directed by: Anthony and Joe Russo

Today, I decided to go to the mall to check out a movie just to get out of the house and do something. I have been wanting to see “Captain America: Winter Soldier” film for a long while which this is the second Captain America movie by Marvel. Here is my review…

Plot/synopsis: For Steve Rogers, awakening after decades of suspended animation involves more than catching up on pop culture; it also means that this old school idealist must face a world of subtler threats and difficult moral complexities. That comes clear when Director Nick Fury is killed by the mysterious assassin, the Winter Soldier, but not before warning Rogers that SHIELD has been subverted by its enemies. When Rogers acts on Fury’s warning to trust no one there, he is branded as a traitor by the organization. Now a fugitive, Captain America must get to the bottom of this deadly mystery with the help of the Black Widow and his new friend, The Falcon. However, the battle will be costly for the Sentinel of Liberty, with Rogers finding enemies where he least expects them while learning that the Winter Soldier looks disturbingly familiar.

I like Captain America. He has always been one of my favorite superheroes. Probably because he’s one of the very few superheroes who never hid his identity like most superheroes do. However, this movie here doesn’t really leave off from the first Captain America film. This film actually takes place after the events of the first “Avengers” movie.

Getting right to it, I was very surprised on how great “Captain America: Winter Soldier” really is. I think it’s pretty much the best superhero movie of the year so far. The film is very politically driven, though. It focuses on current politics of what’s going on in the USA today. It covers government corruption, government spying, drones, etc. It also focuses on the fight for American freedom. I wanted to see this movie ’cause the movie reviews were saying this was a pretty conservative movie and it was; however, this film had a lot of liberal politics in it too so I guess there’s something for both parties if you’re into politics.

On with the film, I was pretty impressed with the story and plot. The movie actually had a “plot”!!! It’s not just an action movie and a popcorn flick, it definitely had a story to tell which most superhero films are missing these days.

The action scenes were a lot of fun and a total surprise to watch as well. It was nice to finally see Sam L. Jackson get into action scenes ’cause you don’t see him in action scenes that much. I don’t want to reveal spoilers on what he does but Sam does get into violence. Even Robert Redford got into a little bit of action. Speaking of Robert Redford, he has been one of my favorite actors for years and he killed it in this movie like he usually does. It was nice to see Sam and Robert in the same movie together. Two Hollywood legends!!! Acting was really good all-around by the cast. Chris, Scarlett and everyone else was cool.

The Winter Soldier villain was a badass villain too. He was pretty dark and scary looking which you don’t see much in superhero movies.

I thought “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” was a phenomenal film. Definitely check it out!

Two thumbs up!

Report: Tom Hiddleston confirms Loki will NOT be in “Avengers 2” but WILL be in “Thor 2″…

Rumors been going strong for a long while now that Loki is not going to be in the sequel for “The Avengers” but Tom Hiddleston the man who plays Loki just confirmed he’s not going to be in it. Why is Loki not going to be in the “Avengers 2”? Well, Tom says they can’t think of anything else they can do with the character and they want to give other villains a chance which makes a lot of sense.

Tom Hiddleston has grown a large fanbase since the first “Avengers” movie but his fanbase is mostly women. Apparently, young women have the hots for this character and they were dying for their Loki to be in the “Avengers 2”. I find it pretty odd that people would go crazy over Loki for “The Avengers” when he was already in the first “Thor” movie. Loki is a pretty cool villain and Mr. Hiddleston is a good actor. While it may be disappointing that he won’t be in the “Avengers 2”, Tom says Loki won’t be going away anytime soon ’cause he’s still going to be in “Thor 2”. So if you ladies out there need your Loki fix, “Thor 2” is the way to go.

More on the story, here.

You gotta love Tom’s response about Loki not being in the Avengers movie. He sounded so down to earth and humble about it, too! In his response, you can tell he was very careful not to upset fans and tries to get people excited for “Thor 2” instead. Most actors are very rude when they respond about not reprising their roles but Tom was pretty cool about it. He seems like a pretty cool dude!

Maybe Loki can even get his own spin-off movie someday? I wouldn’t be surprised if he does get one! Tom is extremely popular because of the Avengers movie. In fact, I never even heard of this actor myself until he landed the role for the first “Thor” film. Loki is a pretty likeable villain.

In the photo above is Tom Hiddleston in full Loki costume at San Diego Comic Con that happened earlier this summer.

Report: Joss Whedon officially on board for “The Avengers” sequel!!!

In the beginning, Joss Whedon wasn’t sure if he was going to be on board to be director for, “The Avengers” sequel, now it appears that he is on board! I can’t see no one else but him directing these movies ’cause no one else could make it as good as he does. I’m glad he’s on! I thought “The Avengers” was one of the best movies of this year, so far. I was very impressed with the film.

Yes, I’m sure Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye will return but I’m sure, they will add a few more heroes to the team. I’m sure Tom Hiddleston will return as Loki, but they will probably add a few more villains too.

“The Avengers” was a pretty big team. I never read the comics, but I know they keep adding more members as they go along.

I can’t wait for the Blu Ray release of “The Avengers”.

AICN, reports.

Report: Marvel wins copyrights to some of their characters over legal battle against Jack Kirby…

Marvel just won a huge lawsuit battle against the heirs of Jack Kirby. Jack Kirby co-created some of the Marvel characters with Stan Lee such as Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. The Jack Kirby estate sued Marvel when Disney bought the company in 2009, they wanted complete control of those characters I mentioned.

The reason Marvel won the battle is because the characters were a “work for hire” thing, which is not entitled for copyright law to revoke the rights.

Congrats Marvel! If they were successful on scoring the copyrights from their characters, then Warner Bros. could have a chance in winning the full copyrights to “Superman” against the Siegel heirs. I’m pretty sure Warner Bros. will win their battle too. It would be sad if the Siegel’s won and they get full control of Superman, then Warner Bros. will no longer make more “Superman” movies after Zack Snyder is done with his. I wish Warner Bros. good luck.

Cool Video: In defense, of “The Governator” cartoon that Arnold is doing…

A lot of people online are giving Arnold’s next acting project, “The Governator” cartoon series mixed reviews. Some negative and some positive. I believe people are disappointed that Arnold came out with a cartoon first instead of a big screen live action movie.

In defense to Arnold about this, he needs to explain his comeback to Hollywood somehow. This cartoon is a perfect way to explain his comeback to the movies after this. It’s their way of hyping his return to acting. I think this cartoon is a great idea. It’s a test to see if people care about Arnold coming back to acting. That’s what I think.

I think the cartoon looks pretty cool, and I’ll probably check out the first episode when it comes on TV.

Kev

Report: Arnold’s first acting job, he’s now back as, “The Governator” well, sort of…

Arnold’s been teasing a new TV show for a long while. He also teased he is bringing a comic book superhero to the screen, but there was a lot of speculation if he was going to bring Sgt. Rock or Doc Savage to the big screen. Turns out it’s going to be neither of those.

Arnold is working with Marvel legend, Stan Lee, on bringing, “The Governator”, to the TV screen as a cartoon series and Marvel will be publishing comics of the new, “Governator” superhero. Arnold will be voicing himself for the cartoon. “The Governator” cartoon is a crime fighting superhero that combines everything about Arnold’s life.

Read more on it, here.

If both the comic and the TV series is a huge success, I bet a live action version will come with Arnold playing “The Governator”.

Look like we’re not going to see Arnold on the big screen for a long while, because he’ll be working on this. Hopefully, he’ll sign himself to a big screen movie soon, we’ll have to cross our fingers for now.
