New “IT” trailer is out and it’s looking awesome so far!!!

This is one of the films that I can’t wait to see this year. I’ve just finished re-reading Stephen King’s “It” book yesterday. The book is over 1,000 pages long so I would think the movie would be split into 2 parts probably. It’s looking like part 1 will focus on the Losers Club being kids and part 2 will focus on the Losers Club being full grown adults.

I’m planning to re-watch the mini-series version too as I have the DVD somewhere.

Batgirl is finally getting her own live action movie, female superheroes to finally take over the movie industry soon???

So “Wonder Women” is getting her own movie this year. We have “Captain Marvel” coming out in 2019. Now we have Warner Bros. greenlighting a “Batgirl” movie to be written and directed by Joss Whedon.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/batgirl-movie-joss-whedon-talks-write-direct-990027

I think this is a pretty big sign that females in superhero films are gonna soon take over, big time. I think there will be many more female superhero films coming in the future. What other female superheroes can they make movies of?

Well, I think they should give Supergirl another try. I think Harley Quinn would get her own movie soon. There’s also She-Hulk, that would be pretty cool. It would also be cool if Jean Grey of the X-Men can get her own film. There’s also Kitty Pryde and Hawkgirl, a few more to name.

As far as Batgirl goes, I wonder what version of Batgirl that Whedon is planning on going for? I hope he plans on going for the Barbara Gordon/Oracle story ’cause that would be pretty cool. If he decides to go for the original Betty Kane, I’ll be alright with that as well. I hope Whedon picks a good actress for Batgirl and hope he does a good job with it.

I think we definitely need more female lead superhero films for sure ’cause there isn’t much out there. I do think however, the only reason WB’s want to make a Batgirl movie is they are hoping to compete against Marvel’s “Captain Marvel” movie. Period?

The “IT” remake trailer is finally here, the film actually looks very good too!

I’ve lost interest in Stephen King lately. Why? 1) His newer books hasn’t been that great 2) He’s a pretty liberal guy and he’s anti-trump. Despite all that, “IT” will always be one of the best books he has ever written. It’s a great story. I loved the TV mini-series version of “IT” but this looks even better. The new “IT” remake actually looks very promising and I think I will see this film in Sept. It actually looks kind of scary too. Definitely gonna check this one out, I think.

Brett Ratner thinks Rotten Tomatoes is destroying the movie industry… yep, I absolutely agree!

Brett Ratner told Entertainment Weekly:

“The worst thing that we have in today’s movie culture is Rotten Tomatoes,” said Ratner, whose company RatPac Entertainment co-financed Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice (among dozens of other Warner Bros. titles). “I think it’s the destruction of our business. I have such respect and admiration for film criticism. When I was growing up film criticism was a real art. And there was intellect that went into that. And you would read Pauline’s Kael’s reviews, or some others, and that doesn’t exist anymore. Now it’s about a number. A compounded number of how many positives vs. negatives. Now it’s about, ‘What’s your Rotten Tomatoes score?’ And that’s sad, because the Rotten Tomatoes score was so low on Batman v Superman I think it put a cloud over a movie that was incredibly successful.”

“People don’t realize what goes into making a movie like that,” Ratner continued. “It’s mind-blowing. It’s just insane, it’s hurting the business, it’s getting people to not see a movie. In Middle America it’s, ‘Oh, it’s a low Rotten Tomatoes score so I’m not going to go see it because it must suck.’ But that number is an aggregate and one that nobody can figure out exactly what it means, and it’s not always correct. I’ve seen some great movies with really abysmal Rotten Tomatoes scores. What’s sad is film criticism has disappeared. It’s really sad.”

http://ew.com/movies/2017/03/23/ratner-tomatoes-scores/

What Brett Ratner is trying to tell you is that professional movie criticism like Pauline Kael, Roger Ebert, Leonard Maltin, etc…. those days are dead and gone. Movie reviews being written by paid movie critics are a thing of the past now. These days, real movie viewers like myself can go online and get on Rotten Tomatoes give it a score and write a review yourself. You can do that at places like Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB and things like that. Nowadays, we are now the movie critics. I do agree that these things are definitely hurting the industry. People refusing to see a movie just because other people thinks it’s bad.

What he’s trying to tell you is that just because other people think a movie is bad, doesn’t mean it’s a bad film. I have seen some great films out there myself that everyone hates. When I watch a movie, I don’t go by other people’s opinions. I always go by my own. That’s kind of why I went and saw “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” as a matter of fact. Since so many people were shitting on that movie, I had to see it for myself out of curiosity and it turned out to be an amazing film. I really meant that. I fucking LOVED “Dawn of Justice”. I thought it was a perfect superhero film and Ben was just phenomenal as Batman. I don’t understand what the hell everyone is complaining about?

With that being said, I fuckin’ hate Rotten Tomatoes. I don’t even go there. If a movie looks interesting to me, I’ll go see it… I don’t care what the reviews are. Brett does have a point that sites like Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB and such are taking the fun out of enjoying a movie.

When Brett said all that above, it pissed off a lot of people especially the entertainment media… I’m seeing articles slamming the hell out of Brett for this. Guess they can’t take the truth, hey? No wonder we’re seeing a decline of box office numbers in Hollywood movies as of late… blame it on Rotten Tomatoes for sure!

From the mouth of Ben Affleck himself, he says the title of his solo Batman film will be…

Ben Affleck the man himself revealed that the title to his solo Batman film that he will direct and co-write himself is gonna be simply titled, “The Batman” but he could change it, though.

Even though I’m not a huge fan of Ben’s die-hard liberal politics, I loved him as Batman ’cause I thought “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” was a great movie. I’m sure Ben’s solo Batman film is gonna be great too.

I wonder who Ben is gonna have as villains in his Batman film? Will he have the Joker again? I think he should also bring in the Penguin, Riddler, etc. I think it would be even cooler if the Riddler could be the main villain in this one. There’s a lot of talk that Deadshot could be the villain like Ben teased before but that could be for “Justice League” though.

It be cool if he has some other villains like Hush, Killer Croc, Mad Hatter and also, Hugo Strange would be cool too.

Wonder what Ben’s version of “The Batman” would be like? Is it gonna be a whole new origin story? Probably not ’cause they already explained Batman’s origin in “B vs. S: Dawn of Justice”.

Ben may as well have the Joker again. Even though the Joker wasn’t in the “B vs. S: Dawn of Justice” film at all, the Joker was referenced a few times in that movie. So ya never know, the Joker could be back. If they do get Joker back, they should try and get Mark Hamill to play him ’cause that would be freakin’ cool. Hamill never played a live action Joker yet but I think he could pull it off well.

I’m the biggest Batman fan there is and I look forward to anything Batman. I haven’t seen “Suicide Squad” yet but looking forward to it when it comes out for rental.

Why “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” is a great film, it’s not bad like everyone is saying…

So I just re-watched “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” on BluRay last weekend and I still  see nothing wrong with the film. Yes, the film is still the most hated film in Hollywood right now. After I re-watched it, I can’t understand why. The film is not bad like everyone is saying. Actually, I think the film is pretty fucking great and I really mean that too.

Reasons the film is great for what it is ’cause it was pretty faithful to the comics for the most part. A lot of the movie was adapted from “The Death and Life of Superman”, ya know that famous story about Doomsday. They finally brought the “Death and Life of Superman” to the big screen. Also, “Batman v. Superman: DOJ” had many other comics adapted to that movie too like it had a lot of “Dark Knight: Returns” mixed in there as well ’cause the film was pretty much about an aging Batman. That’s where they got the idea of Batman and Superman not getting along too well at first ’cause they borrowed that idea from “The Dark Knight Returns” graphic novel/animated movie. So technically, the “Batman vs. Superman: DOJ” film is a mix of “Death and Life of Superman” and “The Dark Knight Returns”.

Plus, I think the visuals and the action scenes in “Batman v. Superman: DOJ” are out of this world. Sure all the action scenes don’t start ’til the second half of movie ’cause I’ll admit the movie started off kind of slow in the beginning but that’s good. It leaves room for more story. Everybody expected “Batman v. Superman: DOJ” to be this big action movie but when you actually see it, you’ll realize it’s something different.

I thought the Doomsday battle was incredible. That was probably the best part of the movie, in my opinion, that’s when Wonder Woman jumps in.

I think the only reason that the film got so much negative criticism is ’cause people don’t like Ben Affleck. Period. If they had a different actor to play Batman instead of Ben then maybe the film would have been received more positively. Isn’t that messed up? Anyway, I thought Ben made a great Batman. The way Ben’s mouth looked wearing the Batman suit, Wow. I thought Ben looked badass in the Batman suit. Ben will never be a better Batman than Michael Keaton and Christian Bale but I thought Ben did a great job.

With all this being said, I can’t wait for “Justice League” movie. The “Justice League” film would be even better than “B vs. S: DOJ”. Seriously, you should give “B vs. S: DOJ” another chance. It’s not a horrible movie like most people are saying. While I do have a great deal of respect for Mel Gibson, I’ll have to disagree with him of calling it a “piece of shit” ’cause it’s not.

Ron Howard set to direct “Pinocchio” remake starring Robert Downey Jr…

Paul Thomas Anderson bailed out of directing the “Pinocchio” remake starring Robert Downey Jr. Ron Howard has been set to take the director’s chair for “Pinocchio” live action version. Robert Downey Jr. has already been set to play Geppetto who is Pinocchio’s creator and father.

There’s been a lot of live action versions of Disney classics lately and there will be many more up ahead. So far the ones that I know of are “Alice In Wonderland” by Tim Burton and the “Cinderella” live action film. There are many others coming like “The Jungle Book”, “The Little Mermaid”, “Beauty & The Beast”, etc.

I don’t care for all the other live action Disney films but the live action version of “Pinocchio” actually intrigues me. I’m all for it ’cause I’m a huge fan of the animated classic of “Pinocchio”. I’ve always loved that film since I was a kid and still love it now.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Robert-Downey-Jr-Pinocchio-Just-Landed-List-Director-Get-Details-113047.html

I love the idea of Ron Howard taking over ’cause he is one talented film maker. He’s made a lot of great movies. I think he’ll do a great job at this.

They’ll have to start casting for the other characters now. Who are they gonna get for “Pinocchio” himself? They’re gonna have to get a child actor for that role for sure. They’re also gonna have to cast somebody for Stromboli, the Blue Fairy, Jiminy Cricket, Honest John, etc. If the characters are still gonna be animals then they might have to be CGI characters especially Jiminy and Honest John.

I’d say get John Goodman for Stromboli. I’d say get Charlize Theron for the Blue Fairy.

I’m pretty sure Ron Howard would make the whale chase scene pretty epic and will make it a thrill ride. Can’t wait!

Akira is Christopher Nolan’s next big trilogy? Is this his secret Warner Bros. project?

This is pretty cool if true. Chris Nolan’s top secret Warner Bros.project maybe the live action trilogy to “Akira”… the famous Japanese anime series. It’s not yet known if Chris will be the director or not. He might just serve as a producer but it would be cool if he directed them, though. I’ve never seen Akira but I should check it out. I’m not into anime that much. If he directed them, I’m sure he would make them fun and exciting.

Christopher Nolan’s next film will arrive in 2017 but he’s keeping it top secret for now…

Christopher Nolan is planning on making his next film after “Interstellar” but he’s not saying what his next film is gonna be. Yeah, I’m pretty sure this will get people all excited and think this is gonna be another Batman movie but it isn’t gonna be.

http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/09/christopher-nolan-announces-release-date-for-next-film/

I have a few pretty good ideas of what Chris Nolan’s next film will be though. It’s probably gonna be “Ready Player One” the sci-fi film that Steven Spielberg set-up. That’s what Chris is rumored to direct next. Spielberg was gonna direct “Ready Player One” himself but looks like he changed his mind and he’s having someone else do it?

Warner Bros. is trying to offer Chris Nolan to direct the film:

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Christopher-Nolan-Ready-Player-One-Get-Latest-68539.html

If not “Ready Player One” then it could be Bond 25.

It’s been said that Sony gave up it’s distribution rights to the Bond franchise and W.B.’s Studios may have picked it up:

http://variety.com/2015/film/news/james-bond-distribution-rights-up-for-grabs-1201509566/

I could be wrong on both of these but we’ll wait and see.

I’m sure his next movie will have an all-star cast like his movies usually are and I’m sure Michael Caine will be involved once again.

Kev

Ben Affleck to direct, co-write and star in his very own Batman film…

A lot of people expected Ben Affleck to direct either “Batman vs. Superman” or “Justice League” but instead Warner Bros./DC gave Zack Snyder both of those films. So to give Ben something to do, they decided to give him his own Batman standalone film which is a good idea.

I’m not a big fan of Ben Affleck’s liberal politics but I do like him as an actor and director. I really liked “The Town” and “Argo”, both good movies.

Ben Affleck To Team With DC’s Geoff Johns On Stand-Alone ‘Batman’ Film: Comic Con

So since Ben is now the new Batman director, he’s next line of the previous Batman directors: Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher and Christopher Nolan. Ben lines up with them now.

I wonder what Batman villain Ben will pick for his Batman standalone movie? I hope he stays away from the Joker ’cause I’m getting so tired of the Joker. He should go for Riddler or the Penguin. Deadshot will be cool too.
