Report: First, “The Karate Kid” remake…now Will Smith is moving forward with the “Annie” remake starring his daughter, Willow Smith…

Announced today, Overbrook Entertainment has teamed up with Sony Pictures to work with Will Smith and Jay-Z on bringing an “Annie” remake to the big screen. They have already signed, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett’s daughter, Willow Smith to play the leading role. In the 1982 original, Aileen Quinn, played the Annie role, it looks like Willow will be playing that role. Oliver Warbucks was played by the great, Albert Finney.

So what we’re getting is an “Annie” version for blacks? There will be rap and R&B songs being sung throughout the film? That’s what it’s looking like.

What black actor will land the Oliver Warbucks role? It wouldn’t surprise me if Will Smith himself signs on that to that role. Wonder how they’re gonna do the B&O Bridge scene at the end of the movie? They will obviously change the “Annie” name of the leading character, to give it a black feeling.

I’m not trying to sound like a racist or anything but I don’t like this idea. “The Karate Kid” remake they did was actually a very good movie, but this one is going to suck. I used to be obsessed with the “Annie” movie when I was a kid. Used to watch it all the time. Do the black people really want an “Annie” remake? This might be popular with black children, but the adults I can’t see them getting into this.

Report: Steven Spielberg and Will Smith NOT doing “Old Boy”…

Steven Spielberg and Will Smith has both planned to do a film titled, “Old Boy” which was supposed to be adapted from the Japanese manga. Everyone assumed it was going to be a remake from the South Korean film, but Spielberg and Smith said it wasn’t. Spielberg and Smith seemed really excited and psyched to do this film until now.

It appears that Mandate studios didn’t like the idea of the movie. Movie fans hated this idea all over the internet, it seems that Mandate agrees with us movie fans that the idea of this movie just sucks.

You see, the Hollywood officials are even strict on directors who are legends and actors who are icons. They don’t care how big of a star you are. They’re not going to release something that doesn’t catch the public’s attention. So Spielberg and Smith won’t be doing this movie. Thank god.

Smith will indeed star in a Steven Spielberg movie one day, definitely, just not this one. So if you think that huge directors and big movie stars can do any film they want, think again.

Hollywood is a shady business. If a film doesn’t make the money, they won’t do it.

Report: Bad Boys III greenlighted too…

Columbia Pictures has greenlighted a third installment to the action comedy series, “Bad Boys” that stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. They have tapped screenwriter, Peter Craig, to write the film. They hope to reunite, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence for this movie. They also hope to bring back Michael Bay as director and Jerry Bruckheimer as producer.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

I did like the first “Bad Boys” movie, was entertaining…but I didn’t like the second one though. The third one probably won’t be good, ’cause I have a feeling it will be full of CGI action sequences. I’m not that excited for a Bad Boys return. It does deserve to complete the trilogy though.

Report: Will Smith keeping, “The Karate Kid” title…

Will Smith announced that he is not chaning the new “Karate Kid” remake, to the “Kung Fu Kid”, he’s strictly going to keep it as, “The Karate Kid”.

MTV Movies Blog reports:

I’m sure Ralph will be pretty pissed about this. I expect a response from him soon about his thoughts on keeping the title for the remake.

Report: Ralph Macchio finally speaks out on the “Karate Kid” remake and he seems to not like the idea of it…

MTV News caught up with a full grown Ralph Macchio, the original Karate Kid, and Ralph speaks out on the new “Karate Kid” remake, which stars Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan.

Ralph says that he feels real good that the public is not wanting a “Karate Kid” remake, in other words, he likes how the public is saying the “Karate Kid” movie can’t be copied. So that’s a pretty good sign right there, that Ralphy doesn’t sound too excited about the remake either. Don’t expect him to have a small role in the film now ’cause I don’t see it happening.

It’s good to see a new interview with Ralphy after all these years, he still looks the same even though he’s in his 40’s now and his looks and speaking voice hasn’t changed a bit!!!

Kudos for Ralphy for his honesty about the remake!!!

Confirmed: Jackie Chan in for “The Karate Kid” remake, set to portray Mr. Miyagi…

Martial arts master and action movie star, Jackie Chan, is in final negotiations to star in “The Karate Kid” remake being developed by Columbia Pictures. Chan will be portraying the legendary role of Mr. Miyagi, Daniel Larusso’s trainer. Jaden Smith, who is Will Smith’s real life son will be playing Larusso.

The plot/synopsis to the “Karate Kid” remake will be similar to the original film, where a young boy moves to a new town, goes to a new school, gets bullied by bigger kids in school, the boy decides to learn karate to defend himself. I’m sure Jaden and Jackie will not have the Daniel and Mr. Miyagi names in the film, I’m sure the character names in the remake will be different. The film is being directed by Harald Zwart.

As long as Jackie Chan is going to be in this, I’ll see this in theater. I love Jackie Chan movies.

Hopefully there’ll be a Ralph Macchio cameo in this film as well!

Confirmed: Jaden Smith (Will Smith’s son) to star in “Karate Kid” remake…

Jaden Smith, who is the real life son of iconic actor Will Smith, is set to star the leading role in “The Karate Kid” remake. Yes, Jaden Smith is confirmed to play the Daniel Laruso character in his version of “The Karate Kid”. Jaden Smith’s character probably won’t have the Daniel Laruso name since Jaden is black, so the writers will probably give the leading character a new name to be more fitting.

The film is being written by Chris Murphy and the remake will have the similar plot from the original version, a film about a young boy who moves to a different town with his mother, gets bullied by older kids just for going after a love interest and he learns to defend himself by learning karate from a martial arts master. Look like this remake will be aimed toward the black community kind of like “The Wiz” being remade from “The Wizard of Oz” as an example.

Will we get a cameo by Ralph Macchio in a different role in the remake? Maybe Macchio will even be Jaden’s trainer in the film? They better give Macchio a role in this film ’cause the film will probably bomb if Macchio isn’t in it. Ralph Macchio is a full grown adult now (he’s in his 40’s now believe it or not, he’s no kid anymore), he doesn’t do acting anymore, but mostly directing films but it’s appropriate if he appears in the remake.

I love the Karate Kid movies. I like all three of them. I don’t like the 4th one with Hillary Swank though.
