Cool Video: Mickey Rourke vs. Jericho heats up on Larry King live last night…

Mickey Rourke and Chris Jericho both appeared on Larry King Live last night to help promote Wrestlemania 25. Mickey was in Larry’s studio live in person, Jericho was on via sattelite.

Of course, Jericho is in character acting like the badguy he always is, and Mickey is just being a nice guy throughout most of the interview. Yes, wrestling is fake, but these guys are just trying to make this storyline realistic. In this interview you can clearly see that Jericho is making Rourke look like a little kid, lol.

Mickey challenged Jericho a boxing match, not a wrestling match. See the funny interview here. Will Mickey actually appear on RAW in person this coming Monday? We’ll have to tune in and see.

Thought: My take on how WWE is going to bring in Mickey Rourke to feud with Jericho for Wrestlemania…

So you’ve all read the big news that Mickey Rourke is signed to perform for WWE to have a match against Chris Jericho for Wrestlemania 25. For those out there who know nothing about the profesional wrestling industry, I’m sure you’re wondering by now, “Huh? How are they going to bring in Mickey Rourke in a storyline?”

Here’s how I think they could possibly do it. These are just possibilities.

You know in WWE Roddy Piper has his usual Piper’s Pit shows, where he interviews a special guest? My belief is that, I think Rourke will appear on RAW the week before Wrestlemania or a few weeks earlier to start the big feud with Jericho.

On RAW before Wrestlemania, Piper will probably have his Piper’s pit thing, Piper is out in the ring giving his speech doing his usual screaming and growling through the mic as he speaks, then Piper brings up the movie, “The Wrestler”, he tells the audience that he has seen the movie at the Los Angeles premiere. He goes on saying how great the movie was and how the movie inspires his own wrestling career, and all that, then Piper announce he is going to invite movie star Mickey Rourke to the ring to discuss the movie in front of the audience.

Mickey Rourke starts walking down the ramp on RAW making his way to the ring to the Piper’s Pit as the crowd cheers loudly for him. Bruce Springsteen’s song “The Wrestler” could possibly be Rourke’s entrance theme song, if Bruce gives Rourke and the WWE permission to use it. Rourke enters the ring, Rourke and Piper chat about the movie for a little bit while the audience listens, giving Piper and Rourke chants and cheers.

Suddenly Jericho’ s”Break the Walls Down” music theme song hits, Jericho starts walking down the ring, wearing his usual rich man suit. Jericho takes the mic as soon as he enters the ring. Jericho then starts talking trash at Roddy Piper, saying how much of a washed up nobody and nostalgia hack that Piper is. Rourke decides to step in when Jericho gets out of hand, Jericho warns him to back off or Jericho will give Rourke the smackdown. Jericho goes back to Piper, talks more trash at Piper’s face, when Rourke couldn’t take it anymore, he starts beating the hell out of Jericho and all hell breaks loose. The audience goes wild. Jericho quickly gets out of the ring so he wouldn’t get beaten some more, grabs the mic and challenges Mickey Rourke to a wrestling match at Wrestlemania. Rourke accepts the challenge.

Now, I’m not quite sure what kind of match they will have, whether it will be a tag team or a singles match with just Jericho vs. Rourke (w/maybe Piper at Rourke’s corner or as a special guest refferee). While I’m sure it could be a tag team, I think it should be a single’s match.

Other than that, I’m glad Mickey Rourke is down fo Wrestlemania. The story above is just my prediction, it’s not a spoiler or anything. If it’s indeed Jericho vs. Rourke at Wrestlemania, I really think WWE should have Jericho win it because he would be a more aggressive heel that way.

The question you have to ask is, will Mickey Rourke come in the WWE as Mickey Rourke or will he be in character as Randy “The Ram” Robinson? If Mickey does come as “The Ram”, that be kind of cool, but I would rather see Mickey come in as himself, not in character from “The Wrestler”. Make the storyline more realistic and not gimmicky.

We’ll have to wait and see how they’re going to pull this off and I’m pretty sure Mr. McMahon will be involved in this feud somehow, I can definitely see McMahon screaming, “Who the hell do you think you are?” at Rourke’s face, lol. I’ll keep an eye on this news to find out what they’re planning. It’ll be entertaining for sure.

Royal Rumble 2009 thoughts ****Spoilers****

******ROYAL RUMBLE 2009 REVIEW with MAJOR SPOILERS**********

This year’s Royal Rumble was a great ppv as expected. Lots of surprising twists, pretty unpredictable moments. My review of each match…

ECW Champ: Jack Swagger vs. Matt Hardy (winner: Jack Swagger)

This was one of the predictions I got right, I knew Swagger was going to win, this was actually a pretty damn good match. Both men wrestled great, a clean match.

Women’s Championship: Beth Phoenix vs. Melina (winner: Melina)

They did a great job with everyone thinking that Beth Phoenix the Glamazon was going to win this one, but instead, Melina picked up the win, she’s the new Women’s Champion. Most women’s wrestling is boring and awful, but this actually was a great match. Some pretty technical wrestling skills with both women. They did more than just pulling hair and hitting each other. Previously, I predicted that Beth was going to win, but I predicted wrong on this one.

World Champ match: John Cena vs. JBL (winner: Cena)

Yep, of course Cena retains. HBK Shawn Michaels at JBL’s corner. Yes, HBK did give JBL a little help in the match, by actually giving them both the sweet chin music. JBL ordered HBK to give them both the sweet chin music, so Shawn can help JBL get the pin while the refferee was knocked out cold out of the ring. Turns out, Cena ended up getting the win. HBK teaming up with JBL is possibly one of the best storylines in WWE in a long time. It’s one of the most realistic storylines anyway, I’ll talk more about this storyline in another post some other time. I thought this was the best match of the night.

WWE Champ match: Jeff Hardy vs. Edge (winner: Edge)

For the past several weeks, Jeff Hardy has been getting a mystery stalker storyline. Who was that mystery stalker? No one other than Jeff’s brother, Matt Hardy, getting another heel turn. When we thought we were getting another Hardy Boys tag team reunion, Matt turned on Jeff by swinging the steel chair at his brother. This is how Edge picks up the win to get the belt back.

30 Man Royal Rumble matchup (winner: Randy Orton):

I was right on Randy Orton winning tonight. Look like the main event for Wrestlemania 25 will be Randy Orton vs. John Cena again. Unless Cena loses the title before Wrestlemania, Orton could face against someone else different. Yep, it’ll probably be Cena vs. Orton at Wrestlemania 25. A few surprise returns in the 30 man Rumble match…they are Rob Van Dam (or better known as RVD) and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan. They were the only surprise returns.

I’m not sure if this is a one time only appearance for Rob Van Dam or he’s back full time, because the Rumble tonight was taking place in RVD’s hometown.

I got two prediction winners right tonight. Jack Swagger winning the ECW match and Randy Orton winning the Rumble.

Look like the theme song for “Wrestlemania 25” will be Ac/Dc “Shoot to Thrill” a song off their “Back In Black” album, ’cause they showed a Wrestlemania 25 commercial during the Rumble ppv that had that song playing during it. So look like the news of Ac/Dc performing at Wrestlemania is true.

Kev

Report: Ac/Dc to perform at Wrestlemania 25?

Linda McMahon, the CEO of the WWE has announced that Ac/Dc is confirmed to perform live at Wrestlemania 25. Yes, Brian Johnson and Angus, and the rest of the boys could be performing there. It’s been said that Vince McMahon himself have been a long time fan of the band.

There’s no word on what song that Ac/Dc will use as the Wrestlemania 25 theme song but it will obviously be a song off the new album, “Black Ice”.

More on it here:

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=113119

When they confirm a theme song for Ac/Dc for Wrestlemania 25, I’m pretty sure, WWE.com will announce it.

Thought: Royal Rumble 2009 predictions…

The Royal Rumble WWE ppv is this Sunday, and yes, you can betcha, I’ll definitely be watching!!! The Royal Rumble is the second most popular WWE PPV event right behind “Wrestlemania”. The Royal Rumble matchup is just 30 guys in one ring, and the only way to eliminate an opponent is throw them over the top rope and both feet must hit the floor on the outside. 1 man standing left in the ring is the winner. They have the Royal Rumble every year around January.

Here are all the wrestlers participating in the 30 man Rumble match this Sunday night:

  1. Triple H
  2. The Big Show
  3. Vladmir Kozlov
  4. Shelton Benjamin
  5. The Undertaker
  6. Randy Orton
  7. Rey Mysterio
  8. Kofi Kingston
  9. The Miz
  10. John Morrison
  11. Kane
  12. Ted Dibiase Jr.
  13. Cody Rhodes
  14. Santino Marella
  15. R-Truth
  16. Brian Kendrick
  17. Carlito
  18. CM Punk
  19. Finlay
  20. Mark Henry
  21. Chris Jericho
  22. Chavo Guerrero
  23. The Great Khali

As you can see the WWE only confirmed 23 superstars for the 30 man Rumble matchup. That means they are leaving open 7 more surprises. Those 7 superstars left are leaving the doors open for past returning superstars, legends to make a one time appearance, and maybe debuting new superstars we’ve never heard of?

I’m going to predict those 7 not listed superstars right now: Ric Flair, Stone Cold, Umaga, Jimmy “Supafly” Snuka, Hulk Hogan, Christian Cage (rumoured to return soon), and Dave Batista maybe?

Dave Batista is supposedly to be out in a “storyline” injury and having a “storyline” surgery, but I think it’s possible that Batista could make a surprise return this Sunday at the Rumble.

There are four other matches before the 30 man Rumble, I’ll make those predictions too:

ECW Champion: Jack Swagger vs. Matt Hardy (winner: Jack Swagger)

World Heavyweight Champion: John Cena vs. JBL (winner: JBL)

Women’s Champion: Beth Phoenix vs. Melina (winner: Beth)

WWE Champion: Jeff Hardy vs. Edge (winner: Jeff Hardy)

John Cena is currently Heavyweight Champ. I think JBL will definitely get the win because Shawn Michaels is at JBL’s corner, JBL and Shawn Michaels had teamed up together with Shawn being a heel wrestler now.

I could be wrong though, the WWE could take us by surprise by having Shawn Michaels costing JBL the championship and have Cena win instead, Shawn could turn into a good guy at the Rumble by giving JBL the sweet chin music and Cena pins the win…but I’m still rooting for JBL to get the win. JBL will probably headline Wrestlemania with Shawn Michaels always at his corner, thinking that Shawn Michaels is “Mr. Wrestlemania” and all.

Jeff Hardy will definitely win the World Champ because I think he will keep it until Wrestlemania 25.

The Royal Rumbles are the most fun wrestling ppv’s to watch. I’m looking forward to seeing it this Sunday. I’ll review my thougths after the ppv too of course. I’m sure this year’s Rumble will be a good one. They usually are pretty good every year.

As for who I think may win the Royal Rumble 30 man matchup this year, I’m guessing Randy Orton could get it.

REMINDER: Vince McMahon returns to RAW tonight!!!

Just a heads up to all you WWE fanatics out there. Yes, Vince McMahon returns to RAW tonight as a performer. There is many speculation and predictions of what Vince may do tonight but you never know what Vince will do, the guy is just unpredictable.

There’s lots of talks that McMahon may join Randy Orton’s new stable, The Legacy (McMahon has been well known to start a large group like the Corporation for example). McMahon could reinstate Chris Jericho back into WWE since he was fired last week by Stephanie McMahon, in a storyline firing, not real life. McMahon could feud with JBL/HBK. Or it could be none of those things and it could be something totally different.

Get ready for the Boss’s long awaited return!!! I sure am, tonight’s RAW will be great since Vince is back.

Report: Vince McMahon on a real life firing spree in WWE, longtime diva retires…

Yes, even the WWE is a victim of a bad economy. This forces Vince McMahon to go on a real life firing spree behind the scenes of wrestling. Everyone knows Vince’s famous TV catchphrase, “YYYOOOOUuuuuu’re FIIIIRREEEEeeedddddd”, he’s doing that in real life.

Vinnie Mac is firing some shockers including long time wrestling veterans, a Hall of Famer (Sgt. Slaughter), even to refs, WWE.com workers, and Vince’s real life limo drivers as well.

Also, a longtime WWE Diva who is pretty well known is retiring from WWE for real, she is done.

See the article below to see who they all are:

http://www.edmontonsun.com/Sports/OtherSports/2009/01/17/8055701-sun.html

Vinnie Mac returns to TV as a performer on RAW this coming Monday which is Martin Luther King Day. RAW will probably do some kind of Martin Luther King reference, of course, I’m sure a performer on RAW Monday will probably mention the Barack Obama inauguration too. This coming RAW on Monday will be a good one.
