Musicians & their horrible attitudes, why I believe they have them…

So you like to be buddies with musicians around the scene as a way to feel part of a musicians community? Is this always a good idea? Will this help you as a musician in your own career and your songwriting? In a way, no it won’t, and let me explain.

There were so many musicians in the past who I thought were pretty supportive of me. I’m not saying they’re my friends, but they were just supportive and they respected you as a musician. As years go along, they all of a sudden have condescending attitudes. They act like a jerk to you all of a sudden, when you’ve been nothing but nice and supportive. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dealt with this over the years. I’ve tried to be nothing but very “supportive” and friendly to musicians, but I don’t know. There’s something weird about them. This is part of the big reason, why I don’t care to make friends with other musicians in the scene.

I think the reason a lot of them act like this, they were once supportive of you and now they’re not, is that they “think”, they are a better and more successful musician than you are. The more success they get, the bigger their ego gets. They want to look like they’re smarter than you are, and they want to make it look like they have more experience than you. That’s why they act like douchebags to you.

I also know that a lot of these guys enjoy talking shit about other musicians behind their backs. I know this, ’cause in facebook, I’ve had musicians privately tell me that they don’t like this guy and that guy. Why don’t you be a man and say that stuff publicly upfront? Oh, I know why. They know it’s an unprofessional thing for them to do, and they don’t want to make themselves look bad.

Yes, I can be very supportive of musicians, it’s part of what I do, but when these guys want to act like ego-maniacs and start drama with you, no thanks. Get out of my life, move along please. Just because you have success in your career, and made lots of accomplishments, or you have a lot of years of experience as a musician, doesn’t mean, you have to be a bad guy. I can’t stand musicians with this kind of attitude, and they’re all over the place. They are a legend in their own mind. I can sit here and name plenty of musicians with this kind of attitude, but I don’t want to ’cause I made a promise that I will never bash musicians publicly. So I just do it without names.

Not everyone is like this, I know, don’t get me wrong. There are plenty of kind and wonderful musicians out there who will truly support you and have your back. You just got to find ’em. You will know they have your true support when they don’t care what others think about you. I have had some musicians who stayed loyal to me, no matter what happened. It feels good too. Yes, you’re going to have drama and not get along with some musicians, but, that’s the whole deal with being a musician, ya know? It’s the name of the game. You’re going to go through a lot of ups and downs. You go through good days and bad days, like everyone.

If you get negativity and drama in your musical life, best thing to do is, ignore it all, and let it slide right by. I don’t have time for this garbage, I just want to live a positive and happy life. Other musicians have a problem in replying to drama in the music community ’cause they get so hung up in it. I don’t care to get into any of that stuff anymore. I want my music life to be a positive one from this point forward.

Justin Bieber and the killed paparazzo…

Miley Cyrus, is exactly right that you shouldn’t blame Justin Bieber, after a paparazzo was killed by being struck by a car, as he was trying to snap photos of Biebs in a Ferrari, in a busy highway. Yes, in my opinion, this is karma. The paparazzi has been a huge problem in entertainment media for years. Sure, some of you may say, that this guy didn’t deserve it, but you  have to be realistic here, he did deserve it. He should have seen it coming.

I think the State of California, needs to ban the paparazzi. I don’t see why, they wouldn’t? It’s got to be an easy law to make. Being a paparazzo is a very dangerous job. A lot of paparazzo’s over the years have gotten injured or have gotten into fist fights with celebs. These things happen all the time. The paparazzi really are pathetic losers, and I could care less if any of them get killed. Of course, this goes back, to the death of Princess Diana, which is the paparazzi’s fault that she died, in a tragic car wreck.

Celebrities deserve the same freedom like all of us real people. It would be nice to get rid of the paparazzi, so the celebs can be welcomed to the public where ever they want to. The more famous a person gets, the more paparazzi will come after you, everywhere you go. I mean, when celebs want to leave a restaurant in their own car after dining out, their cars would usually get surrounded by paparazzi. The celeb is trying to leave the place, but they are forced to drive slow, so they won’t run over someone’s feet. It has happened before, I think with Britney Spears a few times.

If you think being a paparazzi is a real job, then you’re delusional. They’re just people who are obsessed with celebrities. If a celeb is spotted in public, they would do anything to take photos to sell off in the media. Paparazzi has been a problem for years even before TMZ came around.

I can’t blame Alec Baldwin for hating on them.

The paparazzi are horrible and evil people. We need to get rid of them, so the celebs can live normal lives like us. What happened to this guy trying to get after Justin Bieber, was horrible, don’t get me wrong, but he had it coming.

Book Review: “Hunter” by James Byron Huggins

Today, I just finished reading, “Hunter”, by James Byron Huggins, which is a science fiction, action thriller, mixed into one. Yes, this is the book where Sylvester Stallone, now owns the rights to. Sly bought the rights to this novel years ago. He was going to make this book into a movie, but he never got it made. Sly recently announced that this will be his next film. He originally was going to make this book into the next, Rambo movie, but he changed his mind. He’s still going to make the film however, I guess he will use the Nathaniel Hunter character, after all, in which, I bet Sly will play. Sly will write, direct, and star in this movie if he ever gets it made.

The plot is simple. The main character, Nathaniel Hunter, is a wilderness survival expert, and he was hired to do a mission where he is supposed to hunt down an inhumane beast in the Arctic Circle.

While I think this is an entertaining book. I have a few complaints. No 1., the story was a bit too predictable. No 2., the book was written like a screenplay instead of a novel, and you can easily tell that the story was strictly written for Sly Stallone. No 3., it kind of rips off Arnold’s “Predator” movie as both have similar plot ideas.

Other than that, “Hunter” was an entertaining read, and will be a good action movie, if Sly doesn’t mess it up. I’ll admit, that Sly is not the best screenwriter and director in the world, so I am kind of skeptical of him doing this project. Hopefully Sly, will do a good job and redeem himself with this movie. I read online that Sly is planning to make this a 3D movie, which is going to be pretty cool ’cause I don’t think Sly has ever directed a 3D movie before, so this will be different for him.

I’ve been wanting to read “Hunter” for years, but the book is hard to find. This book was a borrowed copy from a friend of mine. This wasn’t the best book ever, but I did enjoy the ride. It was a quick page turner.

Best thing that ever happend to me in 2012 musically…

In the music world, I believe that the best thing that ever happened to me musically, was when I did that Whitney Houston tribute video. In early, Spring, shortly after Whitney died, I posted a tribute video covering one of her songs, and that video suddenly went viral. It got over a little 700 views. People started giving it positive feedback everywhere, and I couldn’t believe it. I honestly didn’t think, people would like it that much, ya know? I kept thinking it was going to suck and people wouldn’t care. Turns out, I was wrong.

That’s what I hope for with all my music, ya know? I want people to enjoy it, care about it, and respect my talent like all musicians. That’s the kind of response, I would like to get with my original music too.

Which is why I have decided to take guitar instruction more seriously. Get practicing and learning music. Get better with my songwriting and cover tunes.

This year, I plan to get back into this music thing. Take songwriting more seriously. Try to stop writing dark, and controversial songs. Try to write more positive and family friendly stuff. Songs about love and hope. Songs that people can relate to. Maybe more autobiographical songs. I gotta try to stop writing political songs too. As a songwriter, you can’t help what you write. Sometimes you can’t help writing dark & controversial stuff, ya know what I mean? You just write whatever comes to your mind.

I gotta get back into lyric writing, ’cause I haven’t done that in a while ’cause I’ve been more focused practicing guitar. I think this year, I want to start reading more poetry, so I can make my lyrics a little more poetic, rather than telling a story. Take my songwriting to a different direction.

I can’t tell my own talent. I just let the people do the judging and let the music speak on it’s own. You either like it or you don’t, but I do hope people will like it more. That’s always been my goal. I know I’m mostly well known as a blogger, but I can somehow become more respected as a songwriter, sometime down the road.  I just got to work hard and keep going with the music. Ignore those haters and doubters who want to shoot down your dreams, and keep going. I’ll be playing music ’til I’m dead. I don’t give a rats ass what anyone else thinks.

“The Cat on Strat Guitar Method” instructional book is recommended to all guitar players!!!

Are you a long time guitarist struggling to get better like me or if you never played guitar before and thinking about starting to learn? To those who own an Ipad, Nook, Kindle or any of those things, I would strongly recommend you get this book called, “The Cat on Strat Guitar Method“, instructional book. Seriously, this is the ultimate guitar instruction out there. This is the holy bible of guitar instruction! It’s like a guitar encyclopedia all in one. It has everything you need to learn about the guitar.

I purchased this book for the Ipad last week, I started learning from it, and it’s already helping me greatly.

There are so many guitar instruction books and free instructional material online, but everywhere else, they make guitar instruction so difficult to understand, but this book, however, makes everything easy for you. He makes you understand theory much easier than anywhere else.

For years, I’ve been trying to find instructional books that will help me become more professional of a guitarist, but most instructional books out there were so badly done. It’s crazy. This book, is the best guitar instruction book ever published. I would recommend it to any guitar player of all levels. From beginner to advanced, this book will help you become an actual musician.

I’m glad I purchased this book, and it was only $9.99. Cheap!

I REALLY do want to become a much better guitarist and become more professionally skilled. I think this book will help me. Basically, I just want to become a better lead guitarist, that’s one thing I’m most focused on. It’s hard to become a great guitarist. Takes years to get there, for sure. I’ve been playing for 17 years now and still haven’t got there yet. I really am committed on becoming a better guitarist ’cause I really would like to melt faces and knock people’s socks off with my guitar playing someday.

This is really a fantastic book. Easy to read, well put together. Just impressive. David Moses teaches guitar better than anyone out there. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

First post of 2013..

Well, happy new year and this is the first blog post of 2013. So I thought I would make it a good one by talking about my goals or New Year’s Resolutions or whatever you want to call ’em. Like I said before, I didn’t go out on NYE’s. I don’t go out on NYE’s anymore. For one, it’s too dangerous out there with all the drunk drivers and all. It’s better to stay home safe, than sorry, ya know? Secondly, I’m not much of a party animal anymore like I used to be. When I was younger, I used to party hard, but I grew out of it. I still like to party once in a blue moon, but not all the time. So last night, I watched, “The Expendables 1 & 2” on Blu Ray before the balldrop on TV. Yes, I did watch both Expendables movies, and they are still badass.

I’m hoping 2013 will be a much better year for me, as I’m going to try and improve my life. Things like get a job. Get myself a nice woman (I will definitely try to make it happen this year, I will do my very best). Get out of the house more. Make more friends and socialize. I want to try and get my license this year again. Yes, I would like to get my license and my own vehicle, and that way I will be able to gig a lot more every year, if I had my own transportation. There’s so many other things in my life, I want to accomplish. Stay committed to bodybuilding, and hopefully get more muscle gains, become even more ripped. Eat more cleaner and get better at nutrition. There’s too many things I want to accomplish, and of course, I’m sure %50 of my goals will never happen, but they could if I set my mind to them and actually do it.

I also want to get back into songwriting again. Concentrate on my guitar skills and become a better guitarist which is getting worked on. I’m more worried about becoming a more professional guitar player, than a singer. I’m real focused on guitar.

I’m almost 40 years old, and need to grow up and do something with myself.

Happy New Year folks. Don’t drink and drive…

Have a good New Year’s tonight, readers. If you’re going out tonight, whether you’re going to a local band show, a dance club, or a house party, or whatever, be safe and don’t drink and drive.

I’m not going anywhere tonight. I find partying on New Year’s Eve is lame anyway.

Tonight, I’m going to have a pizza dinner, and after that, I’m planning to watch “Expendables 1 an 2” on Blu Ray before the ball drop.

Enjoy tonight. Behave and be safe. Don’t get arrested or do anything stupid, lol.

Rock on! \m/

Do I enjoy living the single life? The answer is yes and no…

I’ll have to publicly admit that I don’t have much dating experience. I won’t get into any further details about my personal life off the computer, but I’ll just leave it at that. With the question in the title of this topic, do I enjoy living the single life? Well, the answer is yes, and no.

The yes, I enjoy being single somewhat ’cause if you’re in a relationship you don’t have to worry about getting destroyed or badly hurt when she dumps you. You don’t have to worry about dealing with 4 or 5 hour long phone calls daily or any of that stuff. Being single, means more freedom and you don’t have to rely on her all of the time. That’s the great part of being single.

The no, is the loneliness, of course. I’ll admit it. I am learning to socialize with women better, and I’m gaining more confidence talking to them. Learning that they won’t bite. They are getting more easy to talk to, more and more. They’re just people like us.

I’ve tried the dating thing, here and there, a little bit in the past, it’s just that women are real tough people. A lot of guys want to accuse women of using men for the money ’cause they work a good day job or they just have a cool car, but there ARE kind women out there that will care for who you are. I just need to find her. I know some of you would like to see me get hooked up with a nice girlfriend, down the road, I just need to find the one that’s right for me. I don’t know, maybe when I get a good enough paying job and a car, maybe getting a girlfriend will be much easier then, but there will be women out there who will care for you, no matter who you are. There is someone for everyone.

I just got to start making friends with them. Start off slow and build from there. That’s how you do it, I think. People have given me dating & relationship advice and that’s how I learn. Other people in my family are getting significant others of their own and even gone as far as getting engaged & married. After seeing all this, is getting me thinking that it’s about time for me to do the same. Get myself a nice woman for a hopeful marriage. There are too many young people in their 20’s or younger, getting married these days. I don’t know why, that’s something I don’t want to rush. I’m 36 now, almost 40, so I think it’s about time for me to do something before I get any older.

I think it’s time to hit the dating scene in 2013, and I’ll be sure to actually do something about it, instead of talking about it. I would rather date someone locally in my hometown of Greenwich or a little further. No long distance dating for me.

There are nice and beautiful women all over Greenwich, even for a small town. I met plenty of nice women all over Greenwich. They can be real nice. I just got to work on the confidence more and it is getting worked on!

The best of movies 2012, will come soon, promise you that…

I’m still trying to catch up on new films. Last Friday, I’ve just seen “Django Unchained” which will definitely make the list somewhere. Over the weekend, I watched a few movie rentals. I watched the new “Total Recall” with Colin Farrell, which was a piece of crap, I hated that film, more on that later. I also finally got around to watching Seth Macfarlane’s “TED” which was a very good comedy that I liked a lot. I also watched the comedy film, “Pitch Perfect”, which was also really good. What will make my movies list? I have no idea yet.

Sorry for the delay on this movies list, I just need to see “Les Miserables” in theater, and a few other movie rentals, and then I’ll get this list up hopefully next weekend. I know you guys are interested on what’s going to make my list and in what order. There’s still too many movies out I want to see, and trying the best I can to catch up. I just want to make sure this list is gonna be a good one. Want to make sure it’s worth it.

I have a pretty good idea, of what’s gonna be my no. 1 choice, the best film of all, but I’m not gonna give it away now. Soon. Of course, you’re probably gonna figure it out easily, anyway.

More on Quentin Tarantino’s use of the “n” word…

Since people are still calling out Quentin Tarantino for his use of the “N” word for “Django Unchained”, really? Why get on his ass now, when Tarantino has been using the “n” word for pretty much just about every one of his movies? He’s been using the “N” word ever since his first film, “Reservoir Dogs“. The “N” word is also all over, “Pulp Fiction“. He used it in, “Jackie Brown” a lot too! How come nobody got on his ass back then? Huh? Answer me that one. Tarantino has been having black actors in his films for years, too! So why get on him about this now? Fucking please!

His movies maybe full of foul mouthed dialogue throughout the films, but that’s Tarantino. His movies maybe full of swearing and nasty words, yes, but I think that’s how he talks in real life. His movies shows who he is.

I’m not sure why he uses, the “N” word a lot in all of his movies, but I think he has his reasons. I don’t think he uses the “N” word because he’s racist, I think he makes his movies for mostly the black audience, in his defense. If you noticed, a lot of his movies seemed to be aimed at black people for their entertainment. They weren’t meant to be offensive.

On top of all this, as far as “Django Unchained” goes, people just don’t understand the history of black slaves. That word was used a lot back then, and it wasn’t considered a racist term during that time, like I said before. Quentin probably already knew he was going to get some heat with the use of that word in “Django”, but he had to do what ever it took to make that movie right. If you do your research, the “n” word actually originated from black slaves, that’s where it came from. So he’s right on the money for using that word. He’s not racist. He’s just doing whatever makes sense for film. It was just appropriate.

I’m also real tired of people getting on his ass about gun control every time a mass shooting happens. It’s idiotic.

Leave the guy alone, already people! He’s just a film maker and a storyteller. He’s a genius. Let him do what he wants to do. He knows what he’s doing. Without the foul mouthed, bad language in his films, then his movies wouldn’t have mattered.
