I'm a musician, singer/songwriter, blogger, writer, poet, bodybuilder, movie lover, music lover, video gamer, history/political buff, conservative/republican, etc. I like to do a lot of things.

For the record…

…with all this talk on moving forward in your career and getting success in music, I’ll have to admit that I wish I was at a better place with my music. I wish I could be on a bigger stage performing in front of huge crowds. That would be awesome. I would like success with my music, I’m not shooting that down, just to clear that up. My point is, if these big things don’t happen to me at all, I’m cool with it.

I’ll just continue to do my thing and continue to make music for the few people that continue to support it. I still do have a little bit of a fan following to this day and I’m grateful for that.

Edit to add: This is a good attitude to have in music, too.

More on the “Mr. Tough Guy” song…

After listening to the full band version of, “Mr. Tough Guy”, it is more like a rockabilly song, than blues rock, in my opinion. The song actually reminds me of Link Wray, a little bit. I do plan on re-recording the song to make it a little better. I will change the guitar solo a little bit, too. I shouldn’t make the same guitar solo repeat twice. There are a few other little things I need to change as well. I will re-record the song again sometime in the future, but I want to focus on other songs right now. “Mr. Tough Guy” was just a song idea. I kept the drum beat simple.

Someday I will have a real bass player and real drummer behind these songs.

If you get the hint with these songs I’m putting out lately, you can betcha, I’m planning on making a full blown in your face rock n’ roll album. That’s my genre and the kind of music that I love.

I will still write mellow, and folky acoustic songs, yes, but that will be a separate demo CD. I plan on making two demo CD’s. One full band, and one acoustic.

Feels great to be making music again, finally. When I get enough songs out there, I’ll do some kind of home live webcam concert. I don’t have youtube partners, so I can’t do the youtube live thing yet, I’ll have to find another site to do the live video thing. I do want to do a live webcam music show sometime. It’ll be like a gig but instead, it’ll be at home in front of a video camera.

People mistakenly saw me as a folk musician, but I never thought so. I always saw myself as rock n’ roll, strictly. In the words of Dee Snider, “I WANNA ROCK!” I’m about to prove my point in these songs.

Computer problem solved, I think???

I think what was doing the computer freezing and why the mouse was doing weird things is that the wireless keyboard/mouse was malfunctioning badly. So I had to trash the wireless and go back to the wired keyboard/mouse. Things seem to be working perfectly fine now. Usually when something goes wrong on a computer, it’s almost always something so easy to figure out. Isn’t that kind of crazy?

Defending Abraham Lincoln in horror…

People in facebook and other forums in the movie world are questioning Hollywood’s way of bringing Abraham Lincoln into horror films. They brought Honest Abe in two horror films already, “Abraham Linoln: Vampire Hunter” and “Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies“. A lot of people are hating this idea. Some people find it silly and they think they ruin Honest Abe’s real history of things.

If you really think about it, mixing Abe Lincoln with horror makes a lot of sense. Seth Grahame-Smith the author of “Vampire Hunter”, his original idea was to bring history and horror together. Horror started off from the past. The horror genre has been around for years. I think the whole idea is that Hollywood wants more young people to learn about Abe and his presidency. It’s part of an educational thing. Yes, I’ve read, the “Vampire Hunter” novel, and there are actual facts about Abe’s life in that book.

On top of all this, mixing Abe with horror is all just for good fun and laughter. Humor. Plus, Steven Spielberg still has his own Abe Lincoln biopic coming out, and these Abe horror films will help hype up Steve’s biopic about Abe. When Seth first wrote the novel, “Abraham Licoln: Vampire Hunter”, did you think people supported his idea? HELL NO. He got a lot of shit for it. I’m sure he’s still getting shit for it because of that movie, (he wrote the script too).

The story of Honest Abe deserves more attention and mixing him with horror is a good way to do it. When Spielberg’s, Abe biopic comes out, I know it’s going to be a hit ’cause Abe in horror films will be partly responsible for that success. I would also think that Abe make a bad ass axe swinging vampire killer. I can easily picture that in my head, so I can understand why Seth can’t resist in writing that story.

I wish people wouldn’t slam Abe in horror films when not even seeing it or even reading the book. Give it a chance. Read the book before seeing the film in theater, and you would actually find the story intriguing. I certainly did! When I first heard about Abe in a vampire story, I too was like, “WTF”, at first, but then I read it and LOVE IT. I can’t wait for the movie and WILL see it in theater.

Hear the new version of “Mr. Tough Guy”, here…

The song, “Mr. Tough Guy”, I wrote back in 2006 and it’s a song about being bullied in school, and learning how to defend yourself, so you must be a Tough Guy as well. Since the topic of bullying has been so huge in the news, that’s what inspired me to write this song, as I’ve been bullied in high school myself.

Here’s the full band rock version. It’s heavy rock & blues. It’s still not perfect, I still need to fix it up some, but I love how it came out. Puts a smile on my face and makes me want to head bang through the entire song. It’ll make you want to do the same.

Enjoy.

Wait until you hear my next garageband song (Mr. Tough Guy)…

A couple of days ago, I started recording another one of my older classics in Garageband. Was curious to hear what the song would sound like in a full band. I’m working on “Mr. Tough Guy”, a song I wrote way back in 2006. I still need to finish the last of the vocals, which I will do tomorrow. I need a break from music recording. Can’t wait to upload it and can’t wait for you to hear it.

Are you ready to hear some badass, heavy blues rock? The song will for sure, melt some faces, and will make you want to hold up devil horn fingers, and bang your head. Just wait until you listen to it. I think it’s a pretty rockin’ song so far, and kicks hella ass.

All this stuff in garageband are just song ideas, and that’s what I use the software for.

Whenever I can afford studio time, I will re-record these songs in a studio with an actual band sometime down the road.

Report: Rush’s, Alex Lifeson, finally responds about getting snubbed from the Hall of Fame…

Do you think the guys in the band, Rush, are upset about getting ignored by the Hall of Fame constantly? Nope. Think again. The band seems pretty cool with it. Alex Lifeson, spoke his thoughts about it to Rollingstone magazine, and he says, the band simply doesn’t care. He says, the band was honored more awards that are more meaningful than the Hall Of Fame.

If the band ever get nominated, the band wouldn’t turn down an induction, ’cause simply put, they don’t want to be rude (like Axl Rose).

Read Alex’s thoughts, here.

I’m sure Rush would make their way into the Hall of Fame. If not? Who cares is right! Their legacy is bigger than the Hall of Fame, so who needs ’em? Rush rules. Always loved them myself! I saw them in concert one year too.

More on Stephen King hardcover books…

When it comes to buying Stephen King books on hardcover, what ones do I look for? I could collect the rest of the old titles from amazon or barnes&noble, but they won’t have the original classic editions of the Stephen King books. If you buy the old titles from bookstores, you’re just going to get the new editions with a new cover and all. I don’t want those kind of Stephen King books. I want the original ones when they were first published. You’re not going to find the original classic editions at the bookstores anymore. So where you do find the old editions?

Your best bet, is that you’ll find ’em at yard sales, book sales at Libraries, or bookstores where they sell used books, flea markets too. That’s where I’ve been getting most of them.

I’m planning on going to the Owl Pen Bookstore in Greenwich ’cause that’s a store that sells used books. Never been to that place before, want to check it out to see what they have. Hopefully, they have older S.K. books, I don’t have on my bookshelf yet. I’m sure they do.

Computer problems seems have been fixed!!!

For the past month or so, I’ve been having computer problems again. What’s been going on, is that I’ve been getting freezes, lock ups. Computer will hang, but you could still move the mouse. The keyboard cursor will also jump and move backwards to the beginning by itself. No virus. No malware. After a little research, I found out, the machine had too many things running in the background. Taking up too much CPU. So I went to msconfig, and found a list of things checked. I did research on each msconfig app on there to find out which one I needed and which one I didn’t need. There were three apps, I didn’t need so I disabled them, restarted computer. And there you go, the computer seems back to normal again. So far, no freeze ups or hangs.

I’ll see how it goes the rest of the day. Should be fine now, definitely.
