Loren Weisman, “Touring Schedule vs. Gig Schedule”…

Loren Weisman wrote up another great blog, about the confusion of “tours” vs. “regular gigs”.

Read the post, here.

Once again, I totally agree! I too have seen plenty of bands who work regular day jobs and only play a couple of shows on the weekends in their hometown, they all call it a “tour”!!! It’s not!

A tour is when you travel many miles away from home, playing gigs across the states or even other countries! That’s called a, “tour”.

Just more evidence that other bands, can be “delusional” too.

Before I upload more full band songs from Garageband… I think…

I’m going to take my time and study timing & rhythm. Study and practice. Learn, learn, learn. Those two different songs I worked on from Garageband, “Miracle” and “Secret Hidden”, was just a try out.

Honestly, I think I’m going to trash, “It’s a Miracle”, and not use the song at all. I don’t think the song fits the direction of music, I want to head into. Plus, I believe the song is way too political and honestly, people are getting tired of political songs.

I think I’m going to start writing lyrics on various things, but they will still be on the positive and honest side. I want to try to start writing more harder rock and heavier songs. Not exactly metal, but think of hard rock as Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Soundgarden type stuff or 70’s sounding hard rock music. Things like that. I’ll keep “Secret Hidden” ’cause I’m very proud of that song. I think that song turned out pretty tight and yes, I believe the drums are in sync good enough.

I want to take my time studying & practice rhythm so I can get better at home recording. I’ll take my time with the next original song and won’t rush it. I”ve grown kind of tired of doing the acoustic solo thing for years, and it’s about time that I feel the need to rock out.

Report: John Fogerty, collaborates with the Foo Fighters and country stars for new solo album…

John Fogerty, the former frontman of Creedence Clearwater Revival, announced the news of his next solo album titled, “A Song For Everyone”, which will be released this fall. The album will be an all star collaboration with the Foo Fighters, Bob Seger, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, and more.

Read more on it, here.

Sounds nice, but John Fogerty is talented enough that he doesn’t need all them stars to collaborate with him. He does a fine job on his own! I love CCR and John Fogerty solo. As you all know, Fogerty mixes rock, country and blues into one genre. I saw Fogerty perform live at SPAC one year. I’ll never forget that show.

I must say that WWE did a great job keeping Lesnar’s return unpredictable, I never expected it!!!

I knew Brock Lesnar was going to return to WWE at some point since he’s all done with UFC, but I didn’t think his return would be the night after Wrestlemania! The WWE did a good job staying silent about his return and keeping it top secret, the best they can. Somehow the RAW audience already knew Brock was coming back ’cause they were chanting his name and holding signs in the air with Brock’s name on it. They’re probably the “smart” fans that look at wrestling news on the internet.

John Cena here did a great acting job. Cena did a great job pretending to look shocked for Brock’s return. Cena was out there to call out the Rock to the ring, but instead Lesnar came out. I knew a different wrestler was going to come out instead of the Rock, I just didn’t think it would be Lesnar. The WWE really shocked everyone this time, even me. As you can see in the audience in this video, the fans are so happy and thrilled. I feel that way now.

I’ve been a huge fan of Brock Lesnar ever since his WWE days. Then I started watching UFC, when he moved over to that company for a while. I don’t watch UFC anymore ’cause Lesnar no longer works for them. Yep, huge Lesnar fan, I am. He’s an inspiring guy. I just admire his don’t give a fuck attitude. He’s the real deal.

Brock and Vince must of buried the hatchet, ’cause I remember they had a public feud after Brock left WWE.

Enjoy this video before WWE pulls it from youtube.

Thought: Am I delusional? Well, so are you, and everyone else…

One thing some folks out there like to call me is a delusional musician. I seemed to be getting called that a lot, but I learn to ignore it and laugh it off.

Definition of delusional, here:

1. having false or unrealistic beliefs or opinions: Senators whothink they will get agreement on a comprehensive tax bill aredelusional.
2. Psychiatry . maintaining fixed false beliefs even when confronted with facts, usually as a result of mental illness: He was so delusional and paranoid that he thought everybody was conspiring against him.
People would usually see it as definition #2. Well, maybe, I am a bit delusional and whacky at times, but everyone else is no different, ya know? Pretty much everyone is living in their own delusional fantasy worlds. You’re not perfect like I’m not, so what makes you think you’re a better person?
Pretty much all musicians are delusional. All of them pretty much want attention for themselves, thinking they’re all stars and big shot musicians, so yeah, no different! The same goes for most internet bloggers, music promoters, and people in social networking sites. People in social networking sites (facebook, twitter, etc.) are more crazier than me, trust me.
I’m not that crazy & delusional, I don’t think so. Usually when I tell the truth and be honest, I usually back things up with facts. At least I don’t act like a professional musician and pretend to be good all the time like most musicians seem to be doing. If that’s not being delusional, I don’t know what  else it is.

BREAKING NEWS: Brock Lesnar officially returns to WWE…

I just watched RAW tonight and Brock Lesnar just made his official return. Lesnar showed up at the very end of RAW tonight. See his photo, here.

No matter what you think of Lesnar, WWE is his home. He belongs in professional wrestling. I think he finally realized it if he agreed to return. It was WWE that helped make Brock a big name star, and icon. Without WWE, he wouldn’t have made it in UFC at all. I’m sure of it.

Look like Lesnar is going to feud with John Cena. Hopefully Lesnar will finish the feud with the Undertaker, so it can be Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker for “Wrestlemania 29”.

Lesnar came back with his own theme and he used his signature move, the F5, on Cena. He didn’t use the the F5 move in UFC at all ’cause it’s a trademarked finisher owned by WWE.

Who knows how long Brock will stay around WWE for. I’m just glad he’s finally back for another run.

Learning how to count rhythm, research…

Yep, I definitely need to learn how to do this stuff better if I want to improve for home recording or even play in a band. Like I said, I plan on buying a drummer’s book ’cause that will help. There are also all kinds of great instructional videos in youtube with musicians teaching you how to count different rhythm’s. This is one thing I really need to concentrate on, the most.

If I can understand timing and rhythm better, I’ll become a much better songwriter and guitar player. Wish I learned this stuff a long time ago. I didn’t think you need to learn it just being an acoustic solo act, but when you want to play in a band or record in the studio, gotta be good with the metronome. Plus, more people will give you more respect with your songs if you’re playing in time.

How to overcome stage fright and get more confidence performing on stage…

When I first started performing live on stage in the past, I used to be scared as hell when I get on stage to perform. I used to get nervous, and shake a little bit. Messing up my singing and guitar playing a lot too. I notice a lot of musicians and bands STILL have stage fright. Even some of the most successful and well known musicians can still have it too. They stand on stage looking like a zombie. While playing their instrument, they would either stare at the floor or stare at the instrument, or worse, a lot of singers would sing with their eyes closed a lot. I see this all the time that singers, sing with their eyes closed. I don’t know why they do it, but I always believed it is very important to have eye contact with the crowd.

If you seen my live photos and videos over the years (or even seen me live at a show), you would know, I have full confidence performing on stage. I believe, confidence is key to playing a great show and drawing a crowd.

Ways to overcome stage fright, before booking an actual gig, play as many open mics as possible. Playing open mics at bars or cafes or where ever, will definitely help you get used to performing in front of large crowds. When rehearsing at home alone, pretend you’re performing in front of an actual audience. Picture yourself playing in front a lot of people even if there’s no one in the room or even  practice playing in front of a mirror. That stuff helps too.

When you have full confidence being on stage, you’ll be able to put on a much better and more exciting show. Remember, eye contact at the crowd, all the way through the performance. Smile often. Look like you’re having fun and enjoying yourself. Move around on stage, dance a little, do a little head banging, or whatever. When you want to give the crowd a blast of a good time, you want to look like you’re having a blast too.

I can’t wait when I get my own band going. When I do get a band and start playing full band gigs, you can very well believe, I’m not gonna stand there. I’m going to move around like a fucking rock star. Trust me on that.

Even if the Rock hasn’t wrestled in a ring since 2003, he still has it!!!

So the Rock hasn’t been in an actual wrestling match since 2003. What was his previous wrestling match before his match against Cena at last night’s “Wrestlemania”? Rock’s previous match was against Bill Goldberg at “Backlash” ppv in 2003. That was when the Rock was a heel back then. Goldberg was the babyface. Shortly after the “Backlash” ppv, the Rock had a few more feuds with other wrestlers, then retired from WWE to focus on a full time movie acting career. Yes, it’s been a long time since the Rock wrestled in an actual match.

You know what? The Rock still has it, after all these years he’s been gone. As expected, the Rock vs. Cena was the best match of the night. I knew they were going to put on a helluva match as I’m sure everyone else knew it too. The Rock still can do the People’s Elbow and the Rock Bottom signature moves well, and it was good to finally see those moves again. Even if I don’t like John Cena, I’ll respect him just this one time, even he did a good job as well.

Who won the match? The Rock did it, of course. Miami is the Rock’s hometown, so of course, they were going to give them the win for that one reason. The Rock still has the talent after all these years. When most iconic wrestlers retire from the industry, a lot of people expect them to make comebacks. Well, the Rock never really retired. He knows that WWE is his home and where he belongs, so he came back to make the fans happy. He’s a pretty busy as hell guy going back and forth to his wrestling career to his movie career, so much respect for him.

Other thoughts on last night’s Wrestlemania? It was a pretty good ppv. Nothing that amazing, nothing all that special. It was just pretty good and entertaining. The three best matches of the night as I predicted were, “Undertaker vs. HHH – Hell in a Cell”, “CM Punk vs. Jericho”, and “Cena vs. Rock”. Those three matches  had some really good wrestling.

I even liked the Divas tag team match with Kelly Kelly/Maria vs. Beth Phoenix/Eve. Those women actually wrestled, and it was entertaining. The matches that opened Wrestlemania weren’t that great, they were pretty quick and short matches so they can give the main event matches more time. Although, Randy Orton vs Kane was okay, and I’m glad they gave Kane the win. WWE has been making Kane looking ridiculous for years, and I’m happy Kane, actually won a Wrestlemania, finally.

No Brock Lesnar appearance, but who knows, I have a feeling Lesnar will return this year anyway. Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s true. It could be Lesnar vs. the Rock, for next year’s ‘Mania.

It was a decent Wrestlemania, just wish, they  gave Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan more wrestling time ’cause that match only lasted for a couple of seconds. It was the shortest match ever.

Hopefully next year’s ‘Mania, they do a better job. I’m glad last night’s ‘Mania, didn’t end with Cena winning again. Something different for a change.

About my song, “It’s A Miracle”…

I think I’m going to give that song another re-do, this week. See if I can make the drums & guitar sound a little better. I agree that some drum parts sound a little off, and I want to make the vocals sound better too.

I think the other song I posted yesterday, “A Secret Hidden” is fine the way it is.

It’s just that “Miracle” song, I’m going to change around a bit. You can clearly tell, I’ve been trying to improve my timing and rhythm. Since I took my time with “Secret Hidden” and made it a good one. I’ll do the same with “Miracle”.

I’ll start re-working, “Miracle”, tomorrow ’cause tonight I’m watching “Wrestlemania”.
