I’m still in the middle of playing the game “Bioshock” for the PS3. The game is getting even more challenging now. Most movies adapted from video games are crap, but I think “Bioshock” would make a great movie if they did it right. “Bioshock” tells a great story that is definitely movie material.

Cool Video: “Star Trek” premieres in Austin, Texas with film introduced by Leonard Nimoy!!!

JJ Abrams “Star Trek” may have premiered in Sydney, Australia, but Leonard Nimoy, the original Spock, already brought the film to Austin, Texas, before they did!!! How cool is that!!!

In Austin, Texas, at the Alamo Drafthouse, it was advertised that they were going to show the film “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” in it’s entirety with 10 minutes of Abrams “Star Trek” before it.

In these videos, three men introducing “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”…as the movie starts, the movie stopped somewhere during the film, making it look like it had technical problems. Then all of a sudden Leonard Nimoy, the man himself walks on stage and giving the audience a huge surprise, that they are going to show the new “Star Trek” movie in it’s entirety instead.

Man, if I was there attending that event, I would have been floored. Watch these videos for this amazing moment. Oh my!

Rick Moranis did not do the voice overs of Louis Tully for “Ghostbusters – The Video Game”, but Rick has agreed to reprise his role for “Ghostbusters 3” live action film. Harold Ramis confirmed the news that Rick finally agreed to come back to Ghostbusters.

Although he said the original cast is coming back, there is still no word on whether or not Sigourney Weaver is returning because this article said nothing about her.

I’m sure we’ll hear from Sigourney soon on whether she wants in or not.

Excellent choice! While I didn’t like the “Watchmen” movie, I loved the character that Jackie Earle played in it. The guy’s a great actor and I think he’ll make a great Freddy. Now I’m really looking forward to the “Nightmare” reboot! Bring it on!

Report: Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page, and Marion Cotillard in talks to join Christopher Nolan’s next film, “Inception”…

Three stars are in negotiations with Christopher Nolan to join his next film, “Inception”, a sci fi action adventure that stars Leonardo Dicaprio in the leading role. Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy and Marion Cotillard are in talks of joining the cast.

Those would know Ellen Page from her movie “Juno”. Cillian Murphy played the Scarecrow villain in “Batman: Begins”, and Marion Cotillard is not a very well known actress, she’s a French actress that mostly stars in French movies, but she is set to star in the American action movie, “Public Enemies”, that stars Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, and Billy Crudup.

Report: “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” leaks online before the movie comes out, FOX aims to destroy who ever leaked it…

Oh my. Twentieth Century Fox’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” which is a spin off movie from the “X-Men” series, which Wolverine gets his own movie, already been leaked on the internet. It is not the final version, it is an earlier version with missing footage, different music, etc.

Twentieth Century Fox sent out a statement stating they will take down the person that leaked the movie online for all to download. They have the FBI and MPAA investigating.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118001984.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

I’m no fan of Twentieth Century Fox, but I gotta say, they are doing a good thing here. Piracy and leaking things before release is illegal. If you look at music albums or DVD movies there is an F.B.I. piracy warning on the back of them.

The pirates that do these things know it’s a wrong thing to do, they do this shit just to piss people off for fun and they are waiting to see if they get caught. That’s the evil of the internet these days. You can’t trust anyone you talk to and you can’t trust anyone you see on on the world wide web.

To those think that the leaker who put this movie online before release is an ok thing to do, don’t even understand what copyright means at all. I hope Fox destroy’s this asshole’s life.

I really am looking forward to seeing “X-men Origins: Wolverine” and you can betcha I will see it on May 1st.

Thought: How I know so much about Hollywood and movies…

So you’ve seen me blogging about hollywood stars and movies quite a lot, I’m sure some of you are thinking to yourselves, “How does Kev know all this stuff?” Well, I’ll explain. I’m no Hollywood expert that people out there claim me to be. I’m just a fan of movies, I’m a big movie guy and a huge movie buff. I just love movies, period.

I always thought that if you’re going to be a fan of movies, it’s very important to know all the insights about it. Stuff like:

  • Knowing who the actors and actresses are, all of them, even if you don’t like them.
  • Knowing who the directors are (you don’t need to learn about producers and other crew members behind the scenes of film if you don’t want to but directors are important)
  • Knowing when the release dates of certain movies coming out.
  • Researching on how movies are being made
  • Reading movie news on the internet, discuss movies with other movie fans online in forums, read magazines, and books about movies.
  • Watch behind the scene documents shown on TV and on DVDs of the movies you like.
  • Just simply watch as many movies as possible, even the ones that you think don’t look interesting to you, ’cause who knows it may turn out good after all.
  • And most importantly of all watch all the important classics. If you’re going to be a fan of movies and not watch any of the important classic films like “Citizen Kane”, “West Side Story”, “Spartucus”, “Casablanca”, “Godfather 1 and 2”, “Ben-Hur”, “The French Connection”, “Chinatown”, “Apocalypse Now”, etc…then what are you doing watching films then?

Once you get the idea of what Hollywood and film is all about, then you can start discussing your top favorite movies, top favorite actor and directors. The stuff that you don’t like.

Whenever I talk about movies to other people that I know in person, sometimes they don’t respond back acting like they don’t know what movie or actor I’m talking about. This is why it’s important that if you’re going to be a fan of movies, know everything behind the scenes of “Hollywood”.

I am no hollywood agent, or no damn critic, I don’t work for the profesional film industry at all. I’m just a simple movie fan that loves to learn about them. In another post later this week, I’ll name my top ten films, favorite actors, and directors to give you idea of what I mean.

I do know that there are a lot of people out there that just watch movies just for the movie alone without bothering knowing who stars in it or who directed it or how the movie is made. I can assure you that before I watch a movie, I would want to know everything about it.

When I see a movie that blows me away, that it becomes one of my favorite films ever made, like “The Dark Knight” for example, I’m going to end up watching it like 20 times or more and you learn something new everytime you watch it.

Do yourself a favor, learn more about film, stop obsessing with mainstream movies, start learning about more obscure stuff, and you would find learning the secrets of Hollywood to be a lot of fun. I’ve been learning about movies for years ever since I was a kid. I just think it’s pretty important to learn more about Hollywood if you’re going to be a fan of movies.
