Report: Eddie Murphy to play Richard Pryor…

Could a role like this finally land Eddie Murphy an Oscar nomination for “Best Actor” category? It’s possible. Yes, Eddie Murphy was nominated for an Oscar for “Best Supporting Actor” when he starred in the “Dreamgirls” movie, but he didn’t win. Does a Richard Pryor biopic have Oscar award written all over it? It can be possible if the movie is made right.

Eddie Murphy, is attached to star as Richard Pryor, in the Richard Pryor biopic which the script is written and will be directed by Bill Condon. Right now, Bill Condon is shopping for film studios to see who is interested in buying his script so he can make it into a film. Fox Searchlight, the people who made “Slumdog Millionaire” is interested in the Richard Pryor biopic.

Eddie Murphy got the job to play Richard Pryor because he did Pryor impersonations in his movie “RAW”. I would think the Richard Pryor biopic will be about his entire life, from his childhood to his death. In his childhood, Richard grew up in a crazy life…being born in his grandmother’s brothel, and his father being a boxer and World War II veteran. Richard grew up with his abusive grandmother that beat him up as a child. I’m sure the biopic will later then focus on his teenage years of how he became a standup comedian and a film actor.

The film will probably focus on all the films he did like, “Brewster’s Millions”, “Superman III”, “See No Evil, Hear No Evil”, “Stir Crazy”, “Harlem Nights” (him and Eddie Murphy starred in it together), “The Toy”, etc. I’m sure the Pryor biopic will end with emotional scenes about his death. Pryor died in 2005.

A Richard Pryor biopic will indeed, be a very intense and chilling film. Eddie Murphy is not very good at choosing his roles, but finally, he picked a great one this time. I’m sure Eddie will pull off a very good Richard Pryor performance that will be Oscar worthy enough. I wish Eddie the best in this role.

Report: “The Neverending Story” is getting remade too…

Now here is a remake that I actually think is worth deserving of a better film. Warner Bros. and Leonardo Dicaprio’s film company, the Appian Way, are in discussions of remaking, the family classic adventure, “The Neverending Story”. A film that tells the story of a boy who discovers a book which he reads, that he becomes the plot of the story. The story takes him to another world to meet all kinds of weird creatures and fascinating people.

I liked the original a lot. Now that you think of it, think what they can do with that movie in today’s technology. This one can be a great remake if done right.

Report: Schwarzenegger’s “Total Recall” getting remade…

Columbia Pictures has greenlighted to remake the Paul Verhoeven sci fi/action movie, “Total Recall”, that originally starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sharon Stone. No director and no cast has been signed as of yet.

What do you think? Good idea or another pointless remake? I can’t make up my mind. What would Arnold himself think of this? Of course, he would be flattered if his movies get remade. I’m sure he’s all for it.

Report: Cate Blanchett joins Ridley Scott’s, “Robin Hood”!!!

Actress Cate Blanchett, has signed on to star alongside Russell Crowe in Ridley Scott’s directed, “Robin Hood”. The film was originally titled, “Nottingham”, but due to the film being about Robin Hood, Ridley has decided to change the title.

Those who are not familiar with Cate Blanchett’s work, she is a wonderfully talented actress who has starred in such films as: “The Lord of the Rings trilogy” (she played Galadriel), “The Missing”, “I’m Not There”, “Indy 4 and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, etc.

Very nice addition to the cast! What do you think?

Think Ridley’s version of the Robin Hood story will be better than “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” that starred Kevin Costner? I thought “Prince of Thieves” was phenonemal and an incredible movie. “Prince Of Thieves” is one of my favorite films of all times as well.

We’ll have to wait to see how Ridley is going to pull this off.

Report: Samuel L. Jackson to play Nick Fury in “Iron Man 2” and other Marvel movies….

Sam L.  Jackson has ended his feud with Marvel, and signed a deal to reprise his role as Nick Fury in “Iron Man 2”. Jackson has also signed a huge deal to star as the same character in a few other Marvel movies such as, “Thor”, and “Captain America”. Jackson had a feud with Marvel over payments, sounds like Jackson was disgusted that he was offered very little pay for the sequel when the first “Iron Man” made millions. Seems like Marvel resolved things for him to make things better at his request.

Great news, that he’s back on. I enjoyed “Iron Man”, but it’s not the best Marvel movie ever. I hope the sequel will improve.

Report: Freida Pinto teams up with Naomi Watts for new Woody Allen film!!!

I think I have another celebrity crush going. Her name is Freida Pinto, the “Slumdog Millionaire” star, who will next star in Woody Allen’s next film, “Whatever Works”, which will also star Naomi Watts.

The film also stars Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins.

Is this another lesbian movie? Will Freida and Naomi get it on? Wouldn’t surprise me if Woody is heading that direction ’cause he is a dirty old man.

Thought: Oscar night, for gays and lesbians?

Maybe Sean Penn’s “Oscar” win does have something to do with the homosexual theme after all, now that I think about it.

Penelope Cruz won for Best Supporting role for her lesbian character in, “Vicky Christina Barcelona”. The screenwriter for “Milk” , Dustin Lance Black, who is gay in real life won for Best Screenplay.

I think the Academy wanted the show to be for the gay and lesbian community as well.

But those who think Mickey Rourke got robbed, he didn’t get robbed at all. Sean Penn getting the win was the right choice to make. The Academy wanted to give the award to an actor who played somebody that was real. Harvey Milk was a real life guy, something that was a true story.

Mickey Rourke is a new star on the rise, so he got his first Oscar snub. Anne Hathaway is the same way as Mickey Rourke. Anne was up for “Best Actress”, and she didn’t win either.

Besides that, this is just an awards show, right? Who cares about a golden statue, and there’s always another time for Mickey to get nominated again if he picks the right role in the future. These actors don’t really care if they win or lose. Life goes on.

Them continuing to work on movies is more important than a awards show.  Mickey has finally got the recognition in his acting that he deserves, as long as he got nominated in the Oscars, that should be considered an award alone if you know what I mean.

Congrats to Mickey in all of his success. That alone should be more rewarding than an Oscar statue. Like I said, Mickey not winning maybe dissapointing, but Sean deserved it. Mickey getting nominated alone, is a good enough sign that he will one day win one.
