NEW: Star Trek XI official movie poster released!!!

The official Star Trek XI movie poster has just been released. The new Star Trek movie being directed by J.J. Abrams.

On the poster you see the new villain Nero (which is played by actor Eric Bana), Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Zachary Quinto as Spock and Chris Pine as Kirk.

I love the look on the young Spock and the young Uhura, but I don’t like the young Kirk. Chris Pine looks nothing like the young Kirk from the original TV series.

Other than that, the movie is looking great so far and can’t wait to see this.

The Top 15 Best Movie Villains of all times…

In light of “The Dark Knight” being out today which I will see after I get out of work tonight, I wanted to compile my opinions on who the best movie villains are of all times. Other villains besides Heath Ledger’s Joker which we all know is going to be the best villain of all time.

Here is my list in no particular order, these are simply my favorite movie villains that I love:

General Zod (Superman II) – Kneel before Zod, classic line! Terence Stamp is one of the best!

Khan (from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan) – Ricardo Montalban rules!

The Frattelli’s (The Goonies) – I like Jake Fratelli the best out of the three, the guy with the black hair that sings all the time but the Fratelli’s had always been entertaining villains.

The White Witch (Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) – Oh my, what an amazing performance by this woman! Simply one of the best female movie villains I’ve ever seen!

Eric Qualen (Cliffhanger) – Simply one of Sly Stallone’s best movie villain he teamed with. Eric Qualen the main villain from “Cliffhanger” played by John Lithgow.

The Terminator (1984, the first film) – A lot of people like the 2nd Terminator film the best, but to be honest, I’ve always liked the first one more. Arnold as a villain Terminator is just brilliant.

David Lo Pan (Big Trouble In Little China)  – This guy just simply rules, love the look and the actor is great.

Alonzo Harris (Training Day) – A great villain role played by the talented Denzel Washington, I’ve always loved this film and will never get tired of watching this.

Doyle Hargraves (Sling Blade) – A drunk with a violent temper tantrum and moodswings makes you really want to hate this guy, the character played by country singer Dwight Yoakam, does a fantastic job at this role which the point is you’re supposed to hate this character.

Sensei John Kreese (The Karate Kid trilogy) – One of the baddest villains ever, the man that plays this character Martin Kove is so perfect for this role. A really good bad guy that you want to hate, indeed.

Mola Ram (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom) – Beloq from “Raiders” was a good villain, but I like Mola Ram the best, another excellent villain makes you want to hate.

Irina Spalko (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) – Another one of the greatest female villains ever, I loved this character in this film. She really pissed you off in almost every scene she’s in which is what a villain is supposed to make you feel. Cate Blanchett does a great job at that.

Michael Myers (Halloween, both John Carpenter and Rob Zombie’s version) – Two way tie here, so I’ll put ’em both in one. Both Michael Myers, Carpenter’s version and Rob Zombie’s are both classics. Enough said!

Frank Booth (Blue Velvet) – One of my favorite films of David Lynch’s. Dennis Hopper played a great character in this film.

Miss Ratched (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest) – One of my favorite movies ever made. This is definitely a character you want to hate so badily.

I know there’s plenty more good ones I’m missing off this list, but I’m listing my 15 favorite ones.

Enjoy the list.

Looking forward to seeing “The Dark Knight” tonight. I’m heading straight up to the mall after I get out of work tonight. Expect a review of the film too of course.

Report: Arnold to actually be in “Terminator: Salvation”??? Well…not really…

Looks like the T-800 Terminator played by Arnold in the very first Terminator film will be played by this guy in the picture here. That is bodybuilder Roland Kickinger. He has always been known as an Arnold look alike. Arnold himself, knows this Roland guy as Arnold has worked and trained with him before and once portrayed Arnold in his A&E biopic.

In “Terminator Salvation”, that film will explain how Arnold’s character in the first one went back in time to kill Sarah Connor.

How much do you want to bet that James Cameron and Arnold himself reccomended Roland to McG?

That is probably what happened and it didn’t surprise me that Roland would be Arnold’s replacement.

Thought: If there was ever a Dark Tower film…Hugh Jackman would be perfect for Roland Deschain…

Most all Stephen King novels have been made into films, everything from TV mini series to major big screen pictures. While Stephen King movies are still being made to this day, one book series I would like to see get made into big theaterical release films is “The Dark Tower” series. Everytime I read the Dark Tower novels or the graphic Marvel comics of the series, I always picture in my head actor Hugh Jackman playing Roland Deschain the Gunslinger. Hugh Jackman is just a perfect fit for the character, in the 7 novels you’ve seen drawings of Roland and through the comics, if you look at the pictures and compare him to Jackman, you can see they both look almost exactly alike.

If there was ever a Dark Tower film series in the future, I can see no one else playing Roland Deschain but Hugh Jackman. The character seems to belong to Jackman just like Wolverine belongs to him. So anyone in Hollywood out there who plans to do the “Dark Tower” films, I would strongly suggest Jackman in the leading role as Roland Deschain. It would work and the first “Dark Tower” film would be a box office smash if Jackman was in it.

The Dark Tower films need to get made soon. The Dark Tower series are so damn popular that the movies would make the Harry Potter films look bad.

Report: Robocop 4 coming? It’s no remake…

Rumours been going strong for a long while that a “Robocop” remake is in the works. Turns out, it’s not true. Film director Darren Aronofsky, confirmed it’s actually another sequel to add another film to the Robocop trilogy. Does this actually mean a “Robocop 4” is coming?

Bloody Disgusting reports:

This is pretty sweet news. I’m glad it’s not a remake and it’s actually another sequel!

Since Indiana Jones and Rambo returns were such a hit, why not bring back Peter Weller as Robocop? That be fuckin’ sweet!

Report: “The Monster Squad” is getting a remake?

Yep, you heard that right, the 1987 movie about a group of kids forming a club to kill monsters, a film titled “The Monster Squad” is getting a remake. Paramount Pictures just required the rights to get it remade. Film director Rob Cohen really wants this remake to happen, he may or may not direct the remake, but he is definitely on board for producing it.

Bloody Disgusting reports:

Yep, another pointless remake that doesn’t need one.

Man, seems like all the great horror movies from the past are getting remade and I want it all to STOP! STOP! STOP!

“The Monster Squad” is fine the way it is and does not need an updated version. I love the film, I remember seeing it in the drive-in theater when it first came when I was a kid.

Report: Diablo Cody and Steven Spielberg to team up again…

The Oscar award winning screenwriter whose latest film is “Juno” will team up with Steven Spielberg again to give her story ideas for another comedy film that is untitled at this moment. Spielberg is the one who came up with the story for “Juno” and gave it to Cody, she won an Oscar for “Best Screenplay” for the film. She will write the film for Spielberg’s, Dreamworks studios, but they are keeping the plot and title underwraps for now.

Variety reports:

Is this going to be a sequel to “Juno”? I hope not. I have never even seen “Juno” yet, but I plan on giving the film a rent soon.

If Spielberg loves her writing so much, why don’t he direct one of her screenplays? I’m sure he will in the future when the right story comes. Spielberg is not into doing comedies, maybe when Cody does a serious film, Spielberg will do it then.

Report: Danny Devito to helm “Charlotte Doyle”…

Danny Devito maybe well known as a short bald headed actor, but try to remember he is also a screenwriter and director. Danny Devito is the director/writer of such movies like “Throw Momma From the Train”, “The War of the Roses”, “Hoffa”, “Matilda” and “Death to Smoochy”.

His next project, he is set to direct a film titled “The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle” which he wrote the script himself. The film is adapted from the bestselling young adult novel written by author, Avi. The film will star Morgan Freeman, Pierce Brosnan and teen actress Saoirse Ronan.

Variety Reports:

Danny is always doing interesting movies. I’m sure he’ll give himself an acting role in this film also.
