Sly Stallone admits “Expendables 3” being PG-13 rated was a “horrible miscalculation”…

Sly and Lionsgate studios tried to experiment with the PG-13 rating for “Expendables 3”, hoping it would attract a more younger audience. Unfortunately, their goal failed miserably ’cause “Expendables 3” was a box office bomber. The first two were very successful simply because everybody loves the graphic violence with those movies. What do you expect, ya know? When you have an action movie full of iconic tough guys, people expect to see that kind of graphic violence and we didn’t get that with, “EX3”. In “EX3” there was tons of violence in the film but there was less-blood and less-swear words. Not what we want to see in an “Expendables” movie. Well, Sly Stallone is admitting they were wrong with the PG-13 rating and they’re going back to the way they were before for the next film except the next film is gonna be even darker.

Now that Kurt Russel is finally back to working on film again (he’s got a role in “Fast and Furious 7” and Tarantino’s “Hateful Eight”), hopefully Sly can get Kurt for “EX4”.

As for other actors for “EX4”??? I’d say Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson would be a nice addition to the cast. I’m shocked they have never gotten Dwayne yet. I would also go for Tom Cruise and Vin Diesel. Why Tom Cruise? Love him or hate him, Tom’s been in plenty of action movies over the years of his career so I think he would be a nice addition.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” teaser to debut in selected theaters this Friday…

Regal Entertainment Group has announced that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” teaser trailer will debut in 9 selected theaters before every movie. I guess this will be for Regal Cinemas only. If you go to Bowtie Cinemas like I do, you will not see it there.

While it’s good news that a teaser of “Star Wars Episode VII” is coming soon… don’t expect to see a lot on it. JJ loves his usual secrecy. All you’re probably gonna see maybe Luke’s bearded face or maybe the face of the main villain will appear. Something like that, ya know? JJ does this with all of his movies when making trailers. He will reveal a little bit at a time. That’s how he works. He did that with Star Trek and he’ll do the same for Star Wars.

Looking forward to seeing the trailer, though, and when Friday comes, I expect the bootleg of the trailer to hit youtube so better keep an eye on it fast or youtube will take it down quick.

Angelina Jolie thinking about retiring from acting doesn’t surprise me…

… but I completely understand why she wants to do it.

http://www.ndtv.com/article/world/angelina-jolie-says-ready-to-give-up-acting-report-623705

Just like Drew Barrymore, Angie have been acting in films ever since she was a child. Angie was 7 when she got her first film role in “Lookin’ To Get Out” in 1982. She’s been acting in film ever since. As a long time Angie fan, I’ve been watching her films ever since before everyone knew who she was. I’ve followed her career for a long time and watched most of her filmography. Even back in the old days when she starred in films like: “Cyborg 2”, “Hackers”, “Foxfire”, “Gia”, “Pushing Tin”, “Girl, Interrupted”, etc.

I can’t blame her for wanting to hang it up and try some directing.

I’ve watched her directorial debut, “In the Land of Blood and Honey” on Netflix and it was a powerful film. She did a great job in her first directed movie.

I’ve loved Angelina for a long time and still do. She was smokin’ hot back in the day and she still is hot. I’m gonna miss seeing her on the big screen but I’ll still support her directing films too. Now that she’s married to Brad, she probably wants to focus on being a Mom more too. That’s another reason.

I loved her in that “Maleficient” movie though and planning to get that film on BluRay hopefully soon.

I support her decision and wish her luck.

RIP: Mike Nichols 1931 – 2014

A lot of you may have never heard of him but Mike Nichols is one of the most respected film directors in Hollywood. He was responsible for giving us the classic film, “The Graduate” which is a film that starred Dustin Hoffman. I love “The Graduate”, it’s one of my favorite films in movie history. If you have a Netflix account, “The Graduate” is streamable for Netflix so you might wanna check it out too if you haven’t yet.

Mike is also responsible for making other movies that we all know and love such as “Working Girl” (w/ Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver), “Regarding Henry” (also w/ Harrison Ford), “Wolf” (the werewolf movie w/ Jack Nicholson), “The Birdcage” (w/ Robin Williams” and other films.

Pretty sad news and a sad loss for Hollywood. Mike Nichols passed away at 83 years old.

“Pitch Perfect 2” trailer is finally here and I had a good laugh watching it… the film looks great!!!

Seriously, I enjoyed the first movie. The first film was awesome. These movies are funny as hell and I think the girls are adorable. While I mostly like to watch action movies, thrillers, horrors, and drama films… sometimes I like to watch a good comedy film. The first “Pitch Perfect” movie was entertaining as hell and I’m sure the sequel will be even better.

I hardly ever laugh at comedy movie trailers but this one really did it to me especially the scene where Fat Amy slides down the stairs… that one had me crackin’ up.

I’m glad the Bellas are back and definitely gonna go and see this one for sure.

Why I’m not seeing the new “Dumb and Dumber” movie…

I used to appreciate Jim Carrey but not anymore. I stopped liking him after he turned out to be a supporter of gun control last year. Remember when he made that awful, “Funny Or Die” video? Remember, he pulled out of the movie “Kick-Ass 2” ’cause he thought the film was too violent ’cause of the guns in the movie? Anybody that jumps on the gun control bandwagon will no longer get my respect.

I also refuse to support the new “Dumb and Dumber” movie ’cause Mama June has a cameo in it. All of these people going to see the new “Dumb and Dumber” movie are helping to put more money in Mama June’s pockets since the latest reports about her dating a sex offender. I refuse to support that.

On top of that, Jim Carey isn’t all that funny either.

If you want funny comedy actors in the movies, why don’t people check out guys like Abbot & Costello, Charlie Chaplin, John Candy, Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Jack Black, Martin Short, etc.??? All those guys are way funnier than fucking Jim Carey, ya know?

That’s what bothers me about people in this day and age of the movies. I believe people in this day and age have terrible taste in films. Instead of seeing serious movies like “Gone Girl” or “Interstellar” people would rather see garbage like Jim Carey movies or superhero films.

I used to like Jim Carey but I don’t like him anymore. I don’t see why people find the guy so special when there are better out there. Jim Carey sucks.

Look like Sly Stallone is giving us Rocky one more time…

It may not be “Rocky 7” but close enough!!! I guess you can call this film a bit of a “spin-off” from the Rocky franchise. Sly’s next big screen movie will be “Creed” which is going to be about Apollo Creed’s son aspiring to be a boxer like his father so he can meet Rocky to possibly help him train or give him advice.

It’s gonna be great to see Sly reprise his role as Rocky for one more round. As long as Sly is still playing Rocky in this film, I’ll go see it.

I’m looking forward to seeing a trailer of this film soon.

I’m still blown away by the “Interstellar” movie… it really was amazing…

Could Christopher Nolan finally win his first “Best Picture” for his sci-fi epic, “Interstellar”??? I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see. The Academy have never been all that friendly with sci-fi movies over the years with the Oscars. There were several sci-fi movies that got nominated for Best Picture such as “Gravity”, “Inception”, “District 9”, “Avatar”, “E.T.”, “A Clockwork Orange”, “Her”, and the original “Star Wars” movie. Yes, they all got Oscar nominated for Best Picture but of course, none of them got the win. So technically a sci-fi film never won a Best Picture nod before.

Could the Oscars this year make history and give their first sci-fi Best Picture win to “Interstellar”??? Like I said we’ll have to wait and see. I can see “Interstellar” winning for other categories such as Best original screenplay, best sound, best musical score, best cinematography, etc.

I also forgot to mention in my “Interstellar” review that the score to the film was killer. I’ve been impressed with Hans Zimmer as of late. He’s the best musical composer for movies today, in my opinion. I think I’m gonna end up buying the soundtrack for “Interstellar” pretty soon.

I would like to see it in theater again but the new “Hunger Games: Mockingjay” is coming out in a few weeks so I’m probably gonna see that instead. “Interstellar” really was a mind blowing masterpiece.

I’ve followed Christopher Nolan’s movies for years. The man’s a fucking genius for sure. Christopher Nolan is smart and honest. He knows what he wants. He’s very good at trying to get from what he sees in his head to the screen.

I think there’s gonna be a sequel to “Interstellar”, though ’cause the ending kind of left open for another movie. Could “Interstellar” end up being a trilogy of some sorts???

You should really go see the movie before it stops playing. It’s a long one but worth sticking through, trust me. So far, this is the best movie of 2014.

Film Review: “Interstellar”

Starring: Matt McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, John Lithgow
Directed by Christopher Nolan

Today, I’ve just seen “Interstellar” and here is my review…

Plot/Synopsis: In the near future, Earth has been devastated by drought and famine, causing a scarcity in food and extreme changes in climate. When humanity is facing extinction, a mysterious rip in the space-time continuum is discovered, giving mankind the opportunity to widen its lifespan. A group of explorers must travel beyond our solar system in search of a planet that can sustain life. The crew of the Endurance are required to think bigger and go further than any human in history as they embark on an interstellar voyage into the unknown. Coop, the pilot of the Endurance, must decide between seeing his children again and the future of the human race.

Like I said before, I am a huge fan of Christopher Nolan movies. I’ve seen all of his movies even “The Prestige” and “Inception”. Finally, the long-awaited, “Interstellar” hits the theaters and I just saw it today.

Like I predicted, “Interstellar” is another winner for Nolan. No surprise because all of his movies are amazing and so was this one. I would say though that “Interstellar” is definitely the best film of his career. It’s very rare in Hollywood that the writing in movies would be perfect… well the writing in this movie was perfect. In order to appreciate this movie and to be able to understand it, though, you must be a fan of sci-fi.

In this film, you’re not gonna see a popcorn action film. This isn’t Star Wars or a Michael Bay movie. This film is 100% sci-fi. This movie will remind you of films such as “2001: A Space Odysey”, “Solaris”, “Close Encounters”, “Starman”, “Enemy Mine”, “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”, etc. “Interstellar” is gonna be like those kind of movies. So don’t expect “Interstellar” to be full of laser guns and trying to survive against aliens.

I thought the acting by everyone was phenomenal. Like usual, Nolan is genius at choosing his casting. I thought this was Matt McConaughey’s best role. John Lithgow has a very short role in this movie but he still killed it like usual. Lithgow have been one of my favorite actors for a long time. There’s also a surprise cameo appearance by an actor named William Devane who is mostly famous for James Heller in “24”. Matt Damon also has a role. I’m not a big Matt Damon fan but his role was pretty interesting in this film. I actually liked Matt in that role that he played. I don’t wanna give too much away.

The movie was 3 hours long… yeah, it’s a long one but I wasn’t bored one bit. I didn’t yawn at all and kept my eyes on the screen throughout the whole thing. I didn’t fall asleep, thankfully. This film has Nolan’s most impressive film making, yet. The visuals and cinematography were mind blowing. Do you think the visuals and cinematography were impressive in, “Inception”? Well, you haven’t seen anything yet!!! Wait until you see what “Interstellar” looks like.

This is also a pretty sad film, though as I’ll admit it… I almost had tears myself walking out of the theater. This was a beautifully made film and it’s a masterpiece by Nolan. It’s gonna get some Oscar nominations. Not sure if it’ll get a nod for “Best Picture” but ya never know. I hope it’ll at least get a nomination for “Best Picture”. This film was definitely way better than “Gravity”.

The story to “Interstellar” maybe hard to follow and the story will get weird but like I said, you have to be a fan of sci-fi in order to get it. You shouldn’t just see this film just because your favorite actor is in it. I thought the film was amazing. So far, this is definitely the best film of the year and I’m definitely gonna get the BluRay when it comes out.

Definitely go see this one. I’ll give “Interstellar” a score of 5 out of 5 as in excellent!!!

Gonna see the movie “Interstellar” tomorrow…

The next movie I’m planning on seeing in theater is Christopher Nolan’s new flick, “Interstellar”, the new sci-fi movie with Matt McConaughey and Ann Hathaway. I’m looking forward to that one. As some of you know, I am a huge Christopher Nolan fan. He’s one of my favorite directors and I’ve watched all of his movies in the past.

While Nolan has done a great job with the three Batman movies, I’m glad he’s finally done with the Batman films. People want Nolan to keep doing more but hey, give the guy a break, ya know? Chris Nolan is a film maker and storyteller. He’s gonna wanna move on to other things at some point and he finally did exactly that after more than a decade of making Batman movies. I can’t blame him for wanting to move on and he must of finally gotten sick of it. Let him make other movies. He can tell other great stories besides Batman.

I’m looking forward to “Interstellar” tomorrow. Yeah, the movie is 3 hours long but knowing how Christopher Nolan movies are, he’s good at making long movies that feel like they’re short if you know what I mean. The Batman films were like 2 hours and 45 minutes, the pacing went by pretty fast. Nolan is a genius at that.

I love Nolan’s directing style and he’s a good storyteller. I’m not lying when I said I’ve seen all of his movies. I’ve even seen his very first film, “Following” which is also very good. So far, I think Nolan’s best films are “Memento” and “The Dark Knight: Rises” but that opinion could change when I see “Interstellar” tomorrow. “Interstellar” is gonna be long but I’m gonna stick through it. Looking forward to it and will review it, of course.

I’ve been looking forward to “Interstellar” ever since the film has been announced which was like what, a year ago?
