Report: Who should sing for the members of Led Zep?

With Robert Plant made it official that he is not rejoining Led Zeppelin for good, this still not stopping Pagey, Jonesy and Jason for making music. The three left over members have been making new music in the studio and have been planning a future tour with a different singer.

Rumours are swirling the net that Myles Kennedy, the lead singer from the band Altered Bridge maybe fronting the members of Led Zep. But when the members of Led Zep find a new singer, they will of course have to change the band name. They can’t be Led Zeppelin still without Robert Plant right?

I strongly disagree with that choice, I’ve heard Altered Bridge before and they are terrible. They sound like Creed almost since Mark Tremonti plays for Altered Bridge now. I also disagree with the other choices in that article above.

Who do I think should join the members of Led Zep for tour and album, I’ll name just a few choices:

James Labrie of Dream Theater

Chris Cornell

Eddie Vedder

The Listening Room: Hear the new “Weird Al” parody “Whatever You Like” now…

“Weird Al” released his new single for Itunes and it’s been leaked in youtube of course. This is the official single of “Weird Al’s parody of the T.I. song “Whatever You Like”. The song is very topical, about the way the current economics is going right now.

I actually dig it. Great job Al. I don’t like the original T.I. song of this parody but the way “Weird Al” does it is better.

Enjoy. 🙂

Report: First Jackson Browne, then Van Halen, and now Dave Grohl is attacking McCain for using music without permission…

You know, while I do like John McCain a lot, I disagree with his actions for the music business though. I agree that McCain does need to start asking permission for using Bands/Artists songs at his campaigns.

The Foo Fighters are not suing John McCain, they just simply released a statement asking him to not use the band’s songs without permission. A warning type of thing.

I’m glad the Foo’s didn’t go as far as suing like Jackson Browne did. Just shows that Dave knows how to say things in a polite way without putting people down.

Why don’t musicians ever attack Obama for using band’s songs? Well for one, I’m sure Obama asks the band’s permission first. That’s why no band or music artists attacked Obama yet.

If you’re a band and a musician if you own your music, you have the right to use your music however you please. It’s all up to the artist if they want to sue or not. If they own the copyright, they have the right to do what they want. Remember, the copyright and know how copyright works.

Report: Eddie Van Halen marrying his publicist…

The guitar GOD Eddie Van Halen is getting married again, sorry I lost count. Eddie is now engaged to his publicist Janie Liszewski as he popped the question while they were vacationing in Hawaii. He proposed to her in a private room at Tiffany’s. They plan to marry next June.

Good for them. Lets hope Janie can deal with Eddie’s guitar obsession.

Thought: About Springsteen performing Superbowl halftime…I don’t agree with it…

Does anybody feel a little weird about Springsteen doing the Superbowl this year? While I’m a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen’s music, I really don’t agree with Springsteen doing Superbowl half time. He’s too much of a legend and too huge of a star. Springsteen just had to jump at this opportunity before anyone else got it. He had plenty of huge shows in the past. I’m sure the Superbowl officials had plenty of acts on the list to perform in case Springsteen dropped out, but he’s in of course.

Give a different artist or band a chance at that opportunity.

I actually would rather see Metallica or Ac/Dc doing the Superbowl this year instead of Springsteen.

We’ve heard all of Springsteen’s music, he’s performed on TV too much too.

What about John Mellencamp, Phish, Pearl Jam, the Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, or Neil Young?

I like Springsteen, I feel he is a little too overrated, I’ve always said I ain’t much of a fan of the E Street Band, I’m more of a fan of Springsteen’s solo acoustic work more.

Give other artists a chance at this opportunity instead of having has beens that already had opportunities like this. Of course, the Superbowl always have legendary artists every year as a ratings ploy for TV.
