Phil Spector can rot in hell now, fuck that murdering monster…

Man, I can’t believe people. Phil Spector, the legendary producer dies in prison. I can’t believe that so many people are actually mourning the guy especially a lot of musicians/bands and music lovers. Proves that people in this crazy world are so fucking stupid and brain dead.

Phil Spector was a madman and psychopath with so many mental issues… yet most people forgot the fact that the monster shot actress Lana Clarkson in the mouth at his own mansion. Yes, he shot her once but it was still a gruesome murder and she didn’t deserve that.

Truthfully, I think “most” people know that… many just won’t publicly admit it ’cause they are assholes and desperate for that kind of attention when someone legendary dies. Yes, Phil was a legend but he still shot and killed an innocent woman.

The fucking headlines, man… they won’t say it either. Some headlines in the press actually got it right but most of the mainstream media and the music press wants you to forget it happened.

This is just more proof that people are awful and society is so messed up, ya know????

It’s been said that Phil died of either covid19 or natural causes, which is it…. but who cares, though. Phil died in prison so he got what he deserved and Lana got her true justice and god bless her now. People want to celebrate the life of Phil Spector after his passing and not Lana Clarkson? Unbelievable. Fuck that murdering monster, he gets no respect from me.

I don’t care about that monster Phil Spector and it’s insane to me that so many do after what he did to that poor woman back in 2003. That’s the problem, people don’t care about murdered women nowadays.

I was kind of pissed when I saw people in mourning of Phil. People are crazy and insane, I tell ya. I had to rant about it in FB a little bit.

This Band called Swans, just discovered them and loving them…

I keep hearing this song around the house being played on an Ipod stereo system so I asked this person who does this song and he said, “Swans”. So I looked the band up and found the band in youtube and started to listen to their stuff.

I was like blown away… this is probably the most intense music I’ve ever heard in a long time. I’ve listened to so much music over the years but never heard anything like Swans did. Swans is an experimental rock band. They’re kind of prog rocky a little bit, psychedellic kind of stuff like Pink Floyd maybe but Swans is different. Michael Gira has a unique sound. I love his style.

I’m gonna start getting albums by Swans, I think and “Soundtracks for the Blind” is a good one to start off with. That’s how most Swans fans get into them is starting with that album ’cause their song “The Sound” is like an anthem for them. The lyrics could be very deep and intense… some of this stuff may not be easy for people to listen to.

I was kind of hooked to this song so I had to find out who did it and turns out to be a band called Swans. They’re kind of a new band but not really, they’ve been around a while. They’ve been around since the 80’s. They sound new but they’re not really.

Cool band and I want to get into them this year. Michael Gira’s songwriting style kind of reminds me of myself. His vocals are kind of like mine in a way. Glad I discovered him and his band Swans. Never heard of them until now.

I’m a big metalhead even though I may not look it…

I may not look like a metalhead and yes, I listen to metal, lots of it. If you look at my Itunes library and my CD collection, you might find a lot of…. Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Ac/Dc, Megadeth, Dream Theater, etc. I also have some death metal like Venom, Mayhem, Burzum, At the Gates, etc. I also have some Viking metal like Amon Amarth and Ensiferum…

I just love metal. It’s all great music to listen to and trying to listen to it as much as I can.

I may not look metal… I try to grow my hair long but it doesn’t grow that way so I keep it shaved so I guess that’s metal enough? I’m also starting to buy rock band shirts so maybe that’s metal enough? My arms aren’t covered in tattoos like a metal guy but I’d like to start getting tattoos at some point.

You don’t have to look metal to listen to it. I’m just a normal guy who loves music and that’s all.

And listening to all this metal over the years is inspiring me to play that music myself and I’m learning honestly. It’s why I finally bought a solid body electric guitar so I can play heavy rock music myself. Trying to improve my rhythm chops and learn how to play metal. I’m not a super shredder yet and I’m not a thrash metal kind of player either but I’d like to be and working on it. I can only play as fast as 100 – 105 bpm on guitar so that’s moderately fast.

I’d like to make a hard rock/metal album and that’s the goal I’ve always dreamed of, honestly.

I listen to mostly metal nowadays ’cause there’s nothing else that’s good out there. I don’t like most pop and rap music, I hate all of it. Not really into country but I like some of it, though.

I’m trying to get into jazz and blues music more but I always come back to metal or progressive rock which are my two most preferred genres. I’m a huge prog rock fan believe it or not which is why I love bands like Dream Theater, Opeth, Rush, Yes and bands such as those.

I love metal ’cause that genre writes the best songs, in my opinion and I respect the hell out of their musicianship too. A lot of people find it hard to believe that I listen to mostly heavy music and they’re usually shocked that I do. Listening to metal solves everything in life and gets things out of your system. Helps fires up my lifting at the gym too.

I listen to a lot of classic rock too, though but metal is what I listen to more than anything. I just love the songwriting in metal and I just love tight and aggressive music, that’s just me.

Metal is inspiring music to listen to. It helped changed my life for sure.

Judas priest… one of the greatest bands in rock & metal for sure… trying to get into their music more…

For my massive music collection, I try to collect as much albums from my favorite bands as much as I possibly can. I try to collect albums from all of my favorite bands & artists such as Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Ac/Dc, Black Sabbath, Rush, Kiss, Metallica, Smaching Pumpkins, Al DiMeola, Joe Satriani, David Bowie, Opeth, etc.

One band I’ve been trying to get into lately is Judas Priest. They are one of the greatest bands in metal, no doubt. I freakin’ love ’em; although, I only own three of their albums… I only got “British Steel”, their latest album “Firepower” and another old Priest album “Painkiller”. I heard “Painkiller” is one of their best albums, pretty high in the top 5 they’re all talking about so I decided to get that one. Haven’t heard it yet but gonna get around to it.

I also got Rob Halford’s book” Confess” and KK Downing’s book “Heavy Duty”. Haven’t read them yet but I will get to them, bought them digitally for my Ipad.

I’ve read about Judas Priest a lot over the years like read interviews with them, saw their interviews and stuff on youtube. I’m familiar with their hit songs and now I’m just starting to get into their albums.

I’ve always respected that band. Rob Halford is 69 years old and before the pandemic hit, he still toured heavily with Priest over the years. Halford don’t have the powerful and high range singing voice he used to have but he still sings amazing. He’s definitely one of the best vocalists in rock for sure. I’ve always respected the hell out of Priest and trying to get into their music more.

Yeah, the guys in Priest are all old and aging fast but age is just a number. You’re never too old to rock n’ roll…. if you wanna rock then do it!

Have a vinyl player, now to really start a vinyl collection…

As a Christmas gift from family, I just got a vinyl player which I’m psyched to have. I have a nice stereo system to hook it up with but I got a get better speakers sometime in 2021. I’ll start saving up for real good speakers that sounds killer with killer sounding bass and all. Trying to get a home stereo system for music playing. A stereo good for playing my Ipod on, CD’s and vinyls… I’ll play music through all 3 of those formats.

As for vinyls, I have a real small collection for now like 10 – 15 records but planning on to build it up a lot more. I’m planning on buying mostly vinyls from now on instead of digital albums. I’ll buy vinyl albums from old to new. Any new albums that comes out from a band/artist I like, I’ll buy on vinyl from now on instead of Itunes.

Time to start re-buying all of the discography of my favorite bands such as Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, Allman Bros., David Bowie, Metallica, Kiss, Ac/Dc, Van Halen, etc. Get all their albums on vinyl.

I’m definitely plan on re-buying the new Ac/Dc album “Power Up”, the vinyl version for sure.

I want to get as much vinyls as I possibly can. I love vinyls like a lot of people ’cause they have better sound quality than CD and digital for sure. I want to be a vinyl collector from this point forward.

I’ll also buy old and vintage vinyls from other people who has a vinyl collection and I’ll buy used vinyls from antique fairs and record shops that are still around. I’ll buy new vinyls from amazon and from stores like Barnes & Noble and FYE.

I have a small vinyl collection for now… if my collection starts to get too big and run out of space in here, I’ll figure something out.

I have a huge love for music and supporting bands & artists. It’s what I’m all about, yo. Always gotta be listening to music and being around it.

Ac/Dc’s new record, “PWR UP”, sounds the same like the other albums? Not from what I’M Hearing…

Man, I’ve been listening to the new Ac/Dc record at the gym on a non-stop repeated basis. I can’t help it. The new album is definitely the best album they’ve done in a long time. Looking at the AD/DC discography, I would say that “PWR UP” would have to be their best album since “The Razor’s Edge” released in 1990.

Ac/Dc’s last four or 5 albums: “Ball Breaker”, “Stiff Upper Lip”, “Black Ice” and “Rock or Bust” were all ok and so & so but I think Ac/Dc really stepped their game up with “PWR UP”.

A lot of AC/DC fans are saying that “PWR Up” sounds like every Ac/DC album but I’ve listened to the new record non-stop… probably like over 20 times, lol. The band still sounds the same but at the same time, “PWR Up” is slightly different than their previous records. I’m noticing more vocal harmonies and more backup vocals. The songs are a little more riffier, more darker and heavier than their past 4 or 5 albums. It’s definitely different I would say and Brian’s been doing different things with his voice on the new record too.

For example, a song like “Demon Fire”… that’s a song that sounds like they’ve never done before. Probably the heaviest song on the record too. I’ve been listening to “PWR Up” a lot. Such a fun album for sure.

Those saying that the album sounds the same like all the other albums just don’t know what they’re talking about. Angus’s guitar playing is a little different too and sounds like the riffs are more complicated than anything they’ve done in the past. They’re doing more than just playing power chords and basic open chords like they’re known to doing.

It’s a killer album. Love it so much.

Today Dec. 8th, is a day to remember 4 important musicians… John Lennon, Dimebag, Jim Morrison and Gregg Allman…

John Lennon who died 40 years ago today.
Dimebag Darrell who died 16 years ago today.

Jim Morrison, known as the lead singer of the Doors was born on Dec. 8th, 1943 but died on July 3rd, 1971.

Gregg Allman, known as the singer, guitarist and organist of the Allman Brothers band was born on Dec. 8th, 1947 but died on May 27th, 2017.

Truthfully the music died when these 4 musicians died. All 4 were important to all of us. I’m a big fan of the Beatles and a big fan of John’s solo stuff too. I’ve also always been a Pantera fan before Dimebag was killed and was a long time Doors and Allman Bros. fan. Love all 4 of them.

These guys changed music and their music will always live on. Every year, I’ll always pay tribute to these guys on Dec. 8th and I always make sure I remember them. They should never be forgotten ever.

RIP to all 4 and thanks for all the great music they gave us.

Just got Ac/Dc “Power Up” album yesterday and a few other albums from Itunes…

So yesterday, I finally bought the new Ac/Dc album, “Power Up” from Itunes for my Ipod Touch. It’s a great album and definitely their best new record in a long time so glad I got it now. I also purchased 3 other albums…

The Smashing Pumpkins: “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness” (double album)…. I used to have this on CD but lost it so I got it again. I used to listen to this album a lot when I was young and yes I’ve been a huge Pumpkins fan since high school and I still love the band today.

The Smashing Pumpkins “Shiny and Oh So Bright”… one of their newer albums that they released two years ago in 2018, the 8 track comeback album. I got it pretty late but that’s because it grew on me. It’s a great album surprisingly. I haven’t gotten their newest one they just put out, “Cyr” but I’ll get it real soon.

Van Halen “1984”: The hit Van Halen album with songs like “Jump”, “Panama” and “Hot For Teacher”. Some of you may say you’re a Van Halen fan now ’cause Eddie just died. No, not really. I’ve always been a big Van Halen fan since high school, just didn’t buy their records much over the years and now I’m starting to get into them more. I did hear most everything the band has done, though.

Didn’t get much albums this time ’cause it’s the Holiday season, ya know?

Why Ac/Dc never changing their sound and style is actually a good thing!!!

As a lot of music lovers know, Ac/Dc has had that same sound and style of music ever since the mid 70’s when they first started. Their sound and style stayed the same every album, even to this day. This bothered some music fans and they complained and whined to Ac/Dc about it so much that they finally explained why they don’t change their style.

Angus Young responded back with a simple answer:

“With us, it’s to be expected,” he told The Project TV. “As my brother [late AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young] used to say, when somebody said, ‘Every album you’ve ever made sounds the same,’ he said, ‘Yeah. It’s the same band!’ ”

Angus continued, “When we started, we weren’t reinventing the wheel. This is what we do best. We make rock and roll.”

https://www.guitarworld.com/news/angus-young-responds-to-the-charge-that-every-acdc-album-sounds-the-same-this-is-what-we-do-best?fbclid=IwAR36N5Q6gZmzhwwxLpHHTMwg-ZYR-Ko2qbbIBnExpJLGxc_bdHEUnvQXYY4

Makes a whole lot of sense, in my opinion.

I think it’s actually cool that Ac/Dc doesn’t change their sound. Ya know, that simplistic rock n’ roll feeling. They sound like Ac/Dc and a band should sound like themselves. When a band is always reinventing the wheel, sounding different every album, that’s not sounding like themselves.

If Ac/Dc changed their sound then they probably won’t sound good anymore. It would turn fans off and would alienate a lot of fans. I mean, just ask Metallica when they ditched thrash metal and changed their sound for “Load/Reload”. They got a lot of backlash for that, remember that. Also, when Bob Dylan went electric for the first time with his 1965 album, “Bring it all Back Home”, Dylan got a lot of backlash for that too. David Bowie got a lot of backlash when he ditched rock n’ roll to dance music for his album, “Let’s Dance”. The band U2 got a lot of backlash when they ditched rock n’ roll and went pop for their two albums, “Zooropa” and “POP”. The Smashing Pumpkins alienated their fanbase when they went full on electronica for their album, “Adore”. I can go on and on with this.

Bands changing their sound and style every album is so dumb and honestly, that’s why I lost interest in Pearl Jam and Neil Young ’cause they are always changing.

There are very few bands out there that never change their sound and yes, Ac/Dc is one and there is more…. Slayer comes at the top of my head. The Ramones, Motorhead, The Clash, Oasis and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are just some more to keep in mind. Queensryche is another one even though they have a different singer now, they still sound like Queensryche. I love that band as well. Iron Maiden is another metal band that never changed their style from what I’ve heard over the years.

Even if Ac/Dc finally decided to change their sound, I’m not saying they will but what if they did… people will continue to bitch at them.

Bands just do what they want to do and I love Ac/Dc when they have that attitude. They just play what makes them happy.

Will There Ever be a Van Halen boxed set of archived unreleased material??? Wolfgang says you’ll have to wait…

Wolfgang Van Halen who is the son of Eddie Van Halen was a guest on the Howard Stern show. Now that Eddie is gone, fans are probably wondering if they’ll release a Van Halen boxed set of archived unreleased material.

Wolfie here says that there are plenty of unreleased material in the vault and he says it would take forever to go through all those tapes. Yeah, EVH’s studio is pretty huge and I’m sure he has a whole library and stacks of tapes in the vault. I’m sure Eddie recorded plenty of unreleased Van Halen songs and I’m sure Eddie recorded a bunch of riffs and guitar licks for ideas and stuff.

Eddie probably threw that stuff in the vault ’cause he thought they were no good but I’m sure there are some amazing stuff in there. There’s gotta be instrumentals he wrote that were way more impressive than “Eruption”. I’m sure he wrote plenty of unreleased Van Halen material that were meant for the band to play and for David Lee Roth and even Sammy Hagar to sing over. I’m sure there’s tons of unreleased material through every era of Van Halen.

Wolfie probably has access to Eddie’s private vault but it would take hours to listen through all that stuff. I can understand. Someday it could happen, we’ll have to wait I guess.
