Report: Chris Isaak being the #1 pick to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol…

Out of all names picked to replace Simon Cowell: Howard Stern, Conan O’ Brien, Perez Hilton and many others…look like American Idol/Fox is getting very close to finding their guy. Who is it? That’s right. It’s Chris Isaak! A singer/songwriter that is known to being similar to Elvis Presley and singing like Roy Orbison. He did songs like “Wicked Game” and “Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing”. Chris is also a film actor and has his own show, “The Chris Isaak Show”.

More on it here:

I hate American Idol, but this is actually a good decision. Chris is a very talented songwriter, I enjoy his music. If you’ve seen Chris’s interviews, he’s always been brutally honest and he is a kind of a dick (I meant that in a good way). I’d say go for Chris. I would watch American Idol again if he is hired. He would be entertaining. 🙂

Thought: Sorry, but Simon Cowell is not replaceable, no matter who hosts it…

Everybody is talking about Simon Cowell replacement on “American Idol”. Yes, Simon Cowell is done with “American Idol” for good. He’s done. He’s moving on. There has been talks on replacing him. It doesn’t matter if the Cowell replacement is Howard Stern, Perez Hilton, Elton John, Madonna, etc. whoever. Simon Cowell is NOT replaceable and he never will be. Here is why…

When American Idol first started in 2002, Simon Cowell started some controversy after he started giving singers some very negative critiques. Simon brought American Idol to what it is today. He was the one who brought the ratings up for the show . People watch the show because of him, ’cause they like a good badguy. In my opinion, I don’t see Simon as a badguy judge. I see him as an easy going guy who is honest about everything. People get mad at him ’cause they can’t the truth.

What would American Idol be like without Simon Cowell? The show is going to fail. Period. I predict next season, ratings will be very low. The lower the ratings get, FOX would probably cancel it. No matter who takes over Simon Cowell, no other judge is in his league.

I used to watch “American Idol”, I saw the first couple of seasons, then I quit on season 4 I think. As usual American Idol is still boring, even this year. The only talented singer I was hoping to win it this year was that Crystal Bowersox chick. She actually has the talent, plus that last name, Bowersox is so fuckin’ cool. She’s hot and a hippy chick. Even though she didn’t win, she will have a huge career up ahead anyways.

Back to Simon, it’s going to be weird watching “American Idol” without him. You will never get used to watching the show with him being gone. Simon is an inspirational guy. Everyone should be thanking him.

Not A Cool Video: Mary J. Blige, Steve Vai, and Orianthi butchers “Stairway to Heaven”…

I like Steve Vai and Orianthi, and all. Both are amazing guitarists, but why would they go on Idol to cover “Stairway” with Mary J. Blige? I know they’re trying to be cool by covering Led Zeppelin, but this cover version is such an embarrassment, it makes me want to vomit all over the place. Did Simon Cowell actually enjoy this? This is such a nightmare performance. I know Mary J. Blige is trying to be rock n’ roll, but she doesn’t fit the genre. Sorry, Mary J., go back to R&B where you belong. She’s getting a pretty big backlash for covering this song too. What were Jimmy Page and Robert Plant thinking when they gave her the permission to cover it? Wow, this is terrible.

Report: Fantasia afraid of threatening fan mail…

If you put yourself out as a public figure on the web or make yourself a celebrity in the entertainment business, you will get a mixture of love and hate by fans. That’s the way things are these days. I think Fantasia doesn’t have the thick skin enough to deal with this one. If you want to make yourself a public figure, you got to have a thick skin to deal with hate by the public. Ignoring it and not giving a shit what people think about you is the best way to go profesionally. Being defensive over things such as this goes to show how selfish and shady she really is, it shows that she thinks that she is important to herself.

As a musician, I received quite a bit of online hate myself. I learned over the years to not respond to it and not defend yourself. Just simply shrug it all off and be way above the haters. That’s the best thing to do if you want to play music and get your stuff out there.

I don’t think anything dangerous and nothing will harm, Fantasia over that threatening hate mail. Haters call musicians they don’t like, to go “die” all the time. Just don’t take it seriously like Fantasia did. I don’t see the guy that wrote that letter to her being a creep that is obsessed with celebrities, he’s just a guy that does what all the other haters online do, write negative things to famous musicians. I’m not defending him, but he do no wrong. This is part of the game with the music business and Fantasia still has a lot to learn.

Report: Noel Gallagher is also top contender to replace Simon Cowell on “Idol”…

Now this one is even better than Perez Hilton! If A.I. hires Noel to be judge, I would definitely watch for sure! If you read Noel Gallagher’s interviews through the internet, music magazines, the radio, etc. you would know for sure that Noel is brutally honest with music. Noel is rude and crude. When he thinks music sucks, he’s not afraid to say it even if it’s really harsh and mean, he’ll be open about it. Only problem is though, Noel swears and cusses a lot. Noel will say things like, “that’s fucking shit” and all that. That’s him, it’s his dark sense of humor. So, A.I. would definitely have to be careful with him ’cause Noel wouldn’t help himself but say something very offensive that’s too bad for TV. I don’t take what Noel says seriously ’cause I find him a funny guy myself. He’s another good choice.

Plus, it’ll be a great opportunity for Noel Gallagher to give a plug to his upcoming solo career that he has planned. He could become a well known solo musician just by being a judge for, A.I. and I think this is a good idea for Noel.

Report: Simon Cowell picks his replacement and who is it? No one other than Perez Hilton…

Perez Hilton spoke out that he is dying to be Simon Cowell’s replacement on “American Idol”. Well guess what, folks? Simon Cowell likes it and actually agrees with it. Simon says, no one on Idol has reached out to Howard Stern yet. Simon thinks Howard doesn’t have the musical experience enough to be a judge, anyways.

As long as Simon wants Perez, A.I. will probably end up getting him. As much I don’t like Perez Hilton, he would be an entertaining judge since he is the king of controversy of all media. I’d say go for him. The “A.I”. audiences would hate Perez worse than Simon and I can see the audience giving Perez very strong boos.

Simon also says he wants Lady Gaga to be the guest judge toward the end of the season before he goes out.

Report: Howard Stern, in talks to replace Simon Cowell on “Idol”???

Rumours hit the internets that Howard Stern is in talks to replace Simon Cowell on “Idol”. Source claims that “Idol” just started searching for a replacement, denying the rumours, but who knows.

If they are serious about Howard, they better be careful with him because Stern is one crazy guy. I don’t see Howard being mean and nasty to bad singers at all. He might make fun of them and crack jokes about them, but he definitely won’t be that mean knowing that Stern is actually a friendly guy…and he has a sense of humor with an NC-17 attitude. Can you see Stern saying a bunch of perverted and sexual things to female singers that are beautiful? Do you want him doing that? He’ll be like, “Oh you look so hot, look at those breasts”, like he says on his radioshow constantly. Do you want Stern asking singers, “How often they get laid”?

Sorry, but Stern is definitely the wrong pick. I’m sure Stern will be ordered by FOX to clean his act up for a family friendly show, but he won’t be able to help himself but crack out dirty jokes by accident. Everyone knows how Stern really is. I can see Stern being nice and friendly to all the beautiful female singers no matter how bad they sing. Plus, who wants to see Howard Stern and Ellen Degeneres making fun of each other all the time? I don’t. Stern belongs on his radioshow which is what he’s best at! He don’t need, “Idol”.

Report: Perez Hilton wants to take over Simon Cowell…and I agree with it!!!!

I usually hate this guy, Perez Hilton, the gossip blogger, but he wants to take over Simon Cowell. Simon announced early he’s leaving American Idol for good after this season is over with. I’ve actually been thinking about Perez taking over. He’s the king of controversy in the media. His blog site is very popular and with Perez being on A.I. would indeed, help raise the ratings. I can definitely see him being meaner than Simon. Perez is a good pick. I’d say they should get him, I’m serious about this. I doubt FOX would get him, they’re probably gonna go with Piers Morgan instead. Either choice would make me happy. Either Perez or Piers Morgan would work.

Report: It’s Sting vs. Simon Cowell…sorry Simon but I agree with Sting!

Sting and Simon Cowell are in a huge media feud, fighting over the “American Idol” and “X-Factor” shows. Sting refuses to appear on either of those shows ’cause Sting says the shows have judges that are all about self-promotion, not about the actual music. Sting also says these shows are full of karaoke singers and a soap opera that has nothing to do with music.

Read all about it here:

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20320169,00.html

Sting is in the right here, 100%. All of these fuckin’ shows “American Idol”, “America’s Got Talent”, “Britain’s Got Talent”, “X-Factor”, etc. Is all fake and manufactured. The voting system is rubbish and broken. Even if these contestants on these shows don’t win the competition, you know they are going to get easy fame and fortune anyways.

The Police didn’t become rock and roll legends over this crap. They went from playing the legendary CBGB’s in NYC and got their start from there. They didn’t get fame over some fake Talent show bullshit.

Kudos for Sting for telling it like it is. I’m on his side, 100%. Sting is a talented man. I look forward to hearing Sting’s new album, “If On a Winter’s Night”, sounds wonderful.

Report: Chris Sligh, an American Idol loser, writes really good blog to fellow Idols about music industry…

This guy, Chris Sligh, a former Idol, wrote the most intelligent blog about the music industry I’ve ever seen. I totally agree with him on everything, 100%.

Read his blog here:

http://frommymindtoyoureyes.blogspot.com/2009/09/to-idols-realistic-look-at-your-career.html

He’s just giving the Idols a reality check about them thinking they will be a star. Pretty intelligent writing.

I don’t play music ’cause I want fame and fortune, I just play music as a hobby and something I have as a passion. I just play guitar and sing songs just for the love of it, nothing more.

In local music, sorry to say but it’s true, even local musicians would have to get out of their delusions and face reality as well. Most musicians around the Capital District are doing it like if this was a popularity contest, most musicians around this area are obsessed with trying to be established and well known. Not worrying about local fame too much, and concentrating on your music mostly is what’s most important, the way I look at it.

There are too many bands and artists that are obsessed with doing radio interviews, articles with newspapers, etc. That stuff is nice but I never worried about any of that. I just cared about playing my guitar and singing.
