Robert Plant goes to local record shop in Glens Falls, N.Y….

This is cool. Robert Plant was scheduled to perform a show in Saratoga Springs at a venue called SPAC w/ Alison Krauss. It’s part of his tour with her for their new album.

Well, before the show Robert Plant goes to a local record shop in Glens Falls at Sweet Side Records at the Shirt Factory building.

Robert walked in and yes, there were customers in there but they all left him alone and let him shop. Even the owner and employees left him alone ’cause they were hoping he’ll stop in again one day.

Read this cool story:

This is very cool. I think Robert’s been doing this for years ever since he was young goes to the nearest record shops when he’s out there touring. Robert bought a couple of blues records at Sweet Side Records. As you all know, Robert listens to mostly old blues music more than rock n’ roll.

Customers mostly left Robert alone but Robert did fist bump a few fans which was cool so everyone definitely knew who he was. Owner thanked Robert for coming and Robert gave him a wink. Robert probably wasn’t all that talkative, though.

That’s very cool of them. When you see a famous person… a celebrity or musician out in public, it is best to leave them be and not be all “star struck”. It might be alright to give them a handshake or a fist bump but that’s all you want to do. They just want to be normal just like us.

Robert’s a vinyl lover like the rest of us. I bet Robert’s vinyl collection is pretty huge too. He probably has thousands of ’em. I’m sure he doesn’t listen to his own music, though.

Led Zeppelin official film Documentary coming out soon…

Led Zeppelin just announced that the band is releasing their very first ever film documentary. Yes, that’s right. The band never made one before. A lot of big and legendary bands made plenty of film documentaries but Led Zeppelin never did one until now. Sure… Led Zep released one concert movie, “The Song Remains The Same” which took place at Madison Square Garden and the film included scenes in which the 4 members took turns acting in. The band also released a few live DVDs but never had extra documentary like footage. Now the band is finally doing their very own rock doc.

The film is titled “Becoming Led Zeppelin” and judging by the title, you can betcha it’s gonna be about the formation of Led Zeppelin and the early days of the band. The documentary will feature interviews with surviving members: Jimmy Page, Plant and Jones… since John Bonham passed on in 1980, I’m sure the doc might have an interview with Jason Bonham so he can talk about his father’s life in Zeppelin. I’m also sure there will be plenty of John Bonham footage in the film for sure. The film will probably feature some old John Bonham interviews, probably and old interviews with Led Zep manager, Peter Grant.

The doc will be about the formation of Led Zeppelin so I’m sure the doc will feature all the bands the guys were in before Led Zep… so you can expect a lot of Yardbirds stuff in it. Robert Plant and John Paul Jones were in bands before Led Zep too so the film will talk about that. I think the film will lead to the formation and to the recording of Led Zeppelin’s first album.

As a die hard Led Zeppelin superfan that I am, I’m definitely looking forward to this. I’m probably gonna get the BluRay when it’s out.

Why is Led Zep coming out with all these projects like the photo books, the remaster albums and this film, etc.??? Some may call it a cash grab but I don’t think so… it’s about keeping Led Zeppelin’s legacy alive and that’s Jimmy’s mission. It’s important to keep the band known even if they’re no longer around. They deserve to keep their name alive.

Is Led Zeppelin about to reunite once more? Probably not but it would be cool, though!

Something strange is going on at Robert Plant’s official website, check it out:

http://www.robertplant.com/

Robert’s website has gone dark for whatever reason, on his website says, “Anytime now…” which means Robert is teasing something huge. What is it? Is Robert about to announce a new solo record with the Sensational Space Shifters? No, probably not ’cause if Robert was to announce a solo album, he wouldn’t tease something that big so it’s got to do with something about Led Zeppelin.

Rumor got out that Led Zeppelin may reunite once more for the Desert Trip 2017 concert this summer. If that’s the plan, I’m all for another Led Zeppelin reunion ’cause we definitely do deserve one more. The guys in Led Zeppelin has been trying to make it happen since their 02 December 10th reunion in 2007.

Ever since that show at the 02 arena in 2007, Robert Plant still sings Led Zep songs during his solo tours and he still sings Led Zep songs quite well. (See videos above)

If it’s not a Led Zeppelin reunion, then maybe a Robert Plant & Jimmy Page duo can make a comeback? Remember that? Page & Plant reunited to make the “Unledded: No Quarter” live album and they also made the studio album together, “Walking Into Clarksdale” which they went on tour with together. That happened during the 90’s. Since Jimmy Page isn’t doing anything musically at the moment, it would be cool if Page & Plant duo would comeback.

If a full Led Zep reunion is about to happen again then that would be cool too! There are so many great Led Zep songs that could be played live that they didn’t play at the 2007 concert songs like “Achilles Last Stand”, “In the Light”, “The Rain Song”, “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You”, “Heartbreaker”, “Communication Breakdown”, “Thank You, “That’s the Way”, “Tangerine”, “Friends”, “Nobody’s Fault But Mine”, etc. All those songs were never played at the 2007 reunion show and they deserve to get played! The 2007 reunion setlist was good but we wanted to hear more! That’s why we kept begging them to do a tour or do one more reunion show.

Jimmy Page planning a solo tour and will play material spanning his entire career…

People will never leave Jimmy and Robert alone on the Zeppelin reunion. *sigh* Move on and get over it, people! I would like a Led Zep reunion to happen myself but I understand bands want to move on. I support their decision of wanting to move on. They already gave us that reunion back in 2007 but nope, fans won’t leave the band alone. Crazy, ain’t it? I’m a die-hard Zeppelin fanatic and would support anything they do.

I’m happy for Jimmy, Robert and Jonesy wanting to move on to do their own projects. Robert just released a new solo album and Jimmy Page is getting ready to play music again. However, he’s gonna start a new band. So he’s probably gonna go on a solo tour and release a new album.

When Jimmy forms his new band, it doesn’t look like he’ll be collaborating with big-name musicians. Jimmy hints that he will be finding musicians that you never heard of before so that means he’ll be looking for unknowns, from the article above, Jimmy says: “If I was to play again, it would be with musicians that would be… some of the names might be new to you. I haven’t put them together yet, but I’m going to do that next year. If I went out to play, I would play material that spanned everything from my recording career right back to my very, very early days with THE YARDBIRDS. There would certainly be some new material in there as well.”

As you just read, Jimmy will be playing songs spanning his entire career everything from Led Zep, The Yardbirds, Coverdale/Page, his solo career (yes, he released a solo album called, “Outrider”) and other projects. He said he will throw some new material as well so that means he probably plans on releasing a new album.

It’ll be pretty cool if Jimmy can get a singer who can sing like a young Robert Plant. Someone with real singing pipes who can get to those high pitch screams like Robert did back in the day.

I’m looking forward to Jimmy getting back out there next year. He really is one of my guitar heroes. He’s the reason I picked up the guitar in the first place.

Robert Plant sings Doo Wop with Jimmy Fallon…

I thought this was pretty good. Jimmy Fallon singing Doo Wop music with Robert Plant. Seeing Robert’s reaction to the Ipad was funny shit… that had me crackin’ up. The way Robert reacts to the sample recording is funny too.

Guess Robert is still trying to figure out today’s technology, HA!

Keep in mind back when Robert was young like in his 20’s, there was none of this stuff. Back in the 70’s, there were no computers, internet, social networking, Iphones, Ipads, etc. So I’m pretty sure he doesn’t know anything about today’s technology.

Enjoy the video. I’ll be getting the new Robert Plant album soon. I really loved the “Rainbow” song.

Finally, a Led Zeppelin member does the Ice Bucket Challenge… thank you Robert Plant!!!

I’ve been wondering when any of the Led Zeppelin members will start doing their ALS Ice Bucket challenges. Robert happens to be the first member of the band to get it done; however, Robert surprisingly doesn’t challenge Jimmy Page or John Paul Jones.

When will Jimmy and Jonesy do theirs? I’m sure they will get around to it at some point.

I’d like to see Jimmy do his. Would like to see how he would react to cold ice water being dumped on him.

I enjoyed Robert’s video here. He seems to live at a gorgeous home where ever he is (somewhere out in England, I would assume???).

Happy 65th birthday, Robert Plant!!!

Ya know, I hate when people hate on Led Zeppelin and bash Robert Plant. These guys need to be respected. Love ’em or hate ’em, Led Zeppelin is the world’s greatest rock n’ roll band. They were the reasons why I do what I do. They made me the musician that I am. As a kid, when I heard Led Zeppelin for the first time, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life… play guitar. I wanted to play like Jimmy Page. I don’t know if you notice but most of my songwriting has been borrowed from Led Zeppelin quite often. That’s where my tight and aggressive guitar playing comes from. I get that by listening to way too much Led Zeppelin.

Back to Robert Plant, he may not sing that great like he used to but he is STILL a great rock n’ roll singer and performer. I’ve always respected Robert through his Led Zeppelin and solo careers. I think his solo albums: “Manic Nirvana” and “Fate of Nations” were his best solo albums. I also loved the album he did with Alison Krauss.

Even though there may never be another Led Zeppelin reunion — who knows — maybe Robert and Jimmy will collaborate on a second album together. Robert and Jimmy has been best friends forever so I think they will do more projects even though it’s not Led Zep. Maybe Jonesy will join them on a side project. Anything is possible.

Happy Birthday, and thanks Robert!

Report: Robert Plant releases 9th solo album, “Band of Joy”…

Robert Plant, just released his 9th solo album, “Band of Joy”, which is a name that was taken from his first band before forming, Led Zeppelin. The new album is concentrating on mostly: country, blues, gospel and of course, there’s some rock n’ roll on it as well.

Robert wasn’t very big in his solo career, but he had a few very successful solo albums such as “Manic Nirvana, “Now and Zen” and “Fate of Nations”.

Read more on it, here.

I’m happy for Robert that he’s still doing music since, the Led Zep reunion. Hopefully Jimmy Page will come out with a new music project sometime.

Hear a new song from his new album, a song called, “Angel Dance” in the video below.

Report: Robert Plant gives up rockin’ for good!

Robert Plant, wants to let Led Zeppelin and metal fans to know that the legendary singer no longer wants to rock hard. Yep, he is completely done with fronting hard rock bands whether it would be for Led Zeppelin or another project.

Robert plans to do different genres of music.

He feels he is getting too old for rock n’ roll, his ears aren’t taking it and he claims he can no longer sing the genre anymore like he used to in the 70’s and 80’s. Which is understandable, after years of Robert singing Zeppelin songs and other side projects, singing to high pitch screams and singing at high notes, he just can’t do that anymore. Why do you think Led Zeppelin had to lower down a few keys at the O2 reunion show a few years back?

Robert fails to say what genre he plans to stick to for the rest of his life but will he stick to folk music, country, bluegrass? Probably. I can see him doing jazz or blues down the road too.

I can’t blame, Robert, and I respect his decision.

John Paul Jones is still rockin’ and playing in bands like with Them Crooked Vultures. Jimmy Page hinted a comeback to music a while back but haven’t heard anything yet on what Pagey is planning on doing next. I’m pretty sure Jimmy Page will never give up hard rock music. Whatever project Jimmy Page does next, I’ll always support and looking forward to seeing what Jimmy would do next. I hope Jimmy don’t make us wait any longer. We want Jimmy Page back in the music world soon!
