Happy 75 years, Superman…

Today officially marks the 75th Anniversary of Superman. The first Superman “Action Comics” was published: April 18th, 1938.

Superman is over hyped for a lot of reasons. First of all, the character means so much to so many people — including me. Secondly, the character just rules and he is the king of all superheroes. I loved Superman ever since I was a kid and still love him now. Watched all the Superman movies over the years, the George Reeves TV show, and all the Max Fleischer cartoons. Of course, I read a lot of comics as well.

What mattered to people the most was the Superman films; most notably, the films with Christopher Reeve who helped made the character more iconic. Chris Reeve will always be the best Superman of them all. Nobody will be able to top him ever. Not even Henry Cavill or Brandon Routh. I thought “Superman: The Movie” and “Superman II” were both amazing films but “III” was pretty good — “The Quest For Peace” was garbage. Then comes “Superman: Returns” in which Bryan Singer directed; that film was okay but needed a lot of improvements and the script was a mess.

Here comes the new Superman flick, “Man of Steel”, directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Christopher Nolan. The trailer was released this week to help celebrate the 75 years of Superman. I can’t wait for, “Man Of Steel”. I’m sure it will be a Superman flick that will make all of us fanboys happy.

I’ll post the trailer again.

Cool Video: Full length, “Man of Steel”, trailer is finally here!!!

This looks like a pretty amazing movie. Will we finally get a great Superman movie, we’ve all been wanting for years? Will Zack redeem himself with this one? So far, this film is looking pretty amazing. The music played through the trailer, is the new music composed by Hans Zimmer.

I love how Lois tries to give him the Superman name, but then they cut it to a different scene right before she said it. Look like we’ll have to wait for the movie itself for her to say the “Superman” name, in full.

It does look like a realistic approach to the character, though. It’s about time, too! Wish Christopher Reeve himself was still alive to see this movie going on. I’m sure he would have loved it too! Enjoy all! I’m psyched. I’m definitely gonna be there for this one.

Report: Anne Hathaway is the female lead for Christopher Nolan’s, “Interstellar”…

Well, it’s no surprise that the “Interstellar”, movie by Christopher Nolan is planning to have a female lead ’cause I already called on it. It is also no surprise that Nolan is going to start hiring cast members from his Batman trilogy. Anne Hathaway is nearing a deal to star alongside, Matthew McConaughey, for “Interstellar”, the space travel sci-fi movie. Spoiler alert: Matt and Anne are both lovers in the film, HA! Kidding, I don’t know about that honestly, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Anne is the love interest for Matt.

Who is next to get casted for this movie? Morgan Freeman? Michael Caine? Christian Bale? Aaron Eckhart?

Deadline reports.

Say what you want about Anne Hathaway, but I always loved her and admired her. I’ve been watching her films for a long while. Speaking of Anne Hathaway, I bought the film, “Les Miserables”, on Blu Ray last week. Haven’t watched it yet, but I will when I finish watching the “Game of Thrones – Season 2” DVD box set.

I still stand by it that “Les Miserables”, was the best movie of 2012. It really was a great film and that should have been the one to get the BEST PICTURE win. Anne Hathaway was obviously the best part of that movie, though. I’ll re-watch that movie on Blu Ray this weekend, probably.

Reports: Matthew McConaughey, is game for Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar”!!!

As soon as Christopher Nolan announced a release date for his next sci-fi movie, “Interstellar”, his first interest to play the leading role was actor, Matthew McConaughey. Nolan wasted no time to get into negotiations with McConaughey, and it seems that the actor is definitely game to starring the leading ’cause he just confirmed it. McConaughey, is officially set for the lead.

Still no plot details and no information on what character, McConaughey, will be playing. Even though, that there is no plot or synopsis, you can get the hint with the title, “Interstellar”. What is “interstellar”? It’s a location of travelling among the stars, like the Milky Way for example. So, it’s definitely gonna be a space travel kind of movie!

I sure hope the story will be interesting, and I hope the plot will have nothing to do with evil aliens and other space monsters. We’ve had enough of those.

See the story, here.

Next, we should see who gets the big female lead, and other supporting characters. We should expect another big movie, full of big name actors.

Report: Christopher Nolan interested in Matthew McConaughey for, “Interstellar”???

Christopher Nolan, seems to be already on the move to his next movie, “Interstellar”, a sci-fi film, and look like he wants Matthew McConaughey to play the leading role. No deal yet, Nolan just asked him. What is it with Nolan’s obsession with big name actors in his films? Still no plot details for “Interstellar”, yet, but you probably won’t be hearing of a plot synopsis for a while ’cause like always Nolan is also obsessed with secrecy. He likes to keep everything quiet until the actual movie comes out. Matthew is a talented actor, though, he’s one of the best in the industry. I like Matt’s southern accent. His speaking voice is cool.

Report: Christopher Nolan announces his next Batman-less directed project, “Interstellar”, to hit theaters, Nov. 7th, 2014…

You see, Christopher Nolan, is a film director and storyteller. He can’t direct superhero movies for the rest of his life, ya know? He needs to move on to other things and tell other stories. Give him a chance with his other work, and you would see that the man is a phenomenal storyteller and film maker. Christopher Nolan, announced, that he will direct a film called, “Interstellar” next, which looks to be a sci fi film. The film will be hitting theaters and Imax, Nov.7th, 2014.

No plot yet, but you probably won’t hear of the plot for a long while ’cause as you all know, Christopher Nolan, is obsessed with secrecy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Nolan tries to get Christian Bale or Leo Dicaprio to star in the leading role for, “Interstellar”, though. Sounds like it’s going to be an epic sci-fi/action adventure, so expect another big CGI and special effects movie from Nolan.

More on the story, here.

Thought: “Man of Steel” question, who is Jenny Olsen???

I know this blog has been a bit way too political as of late, but I think it’s time for a change and go back to discussing movies/music and other entertainment which was the original idea for this site to begin with.

A young actress by the name of Rebecca Bulller, is listed as Jenny Olsen in the “Man of Steel” IMDB page, and in the “Man of Steel” trailer, you see Laurence Fishburne as Perry White running with a young girl which appears to be, Rebecca, in the trailer. A lot of people are speculating that Jenny Olsen, could be a female version of Jimmy Olsen. Jimmy Olsen is not in “Man of Steel” at all, I believe.

The character Jenny Olsen, is not from the comics at all. It’s an original character for, “Man of Steel”.

I’m thinking that Jenny Olsen could be a possible relative of Jimmy Olsen. Maybe daughter or sister, or maybe even his wife, something like that. That way, they can introduce Jimmy for the “Man of Steel” sequel.

“Man of Steel” is full of secrecy, and all will be revealed when we see the actual film in June. The film has been rated PG-13. Some may mistakenly say that this is the first Superman PG-13 film but it isn’t ’cause the last Superman film, “Superman: Returns” was PG-13. All the Chris Reeve films were PG, I think. Superman can’t be an R rated film ever, in my opinion, ’cause this character was meant to be enjoyed for people of all ages.

In other Superman news, I also see that characters for the upcoming, “Justice League” film have been confirmed, and they are none other than Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and the Flash. I hope they do a good job with the “Justice League” film. That film will be difficult to make it good. I know they will try to top “The Avengers”, but it will be hard to do. They just need a good director and good script.

Looking forward to both “Man of Steel”, and “Justice League”.

Christopher Nolan, is a great film maker but…

… to be honest, I wish Christopher Nolan would go back to his old school way of making movies. Making movies in the style of chronological order. Meaning, movies being played in a different order. Over the weekend I just watched his film, “Following”, which was his debut film. The film was a little over an hour long, it’s very short and it was filmed in black and white. Still though, I thought the film was pretty amazing and thought that was his best film in his career. Check it out if you haven’t yet. I like Chris’s way of telling stories chronological. That technique is what made him famous and well known to begin with. Sure enough, after “Following” and “Memento”, Chris went on to directing blockbuster action movies like the Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception.

It’s going to be interesting to see what Chris is planning to do after the Dark Knight. He hasn’t announced a new project yet. Chris Nolan has always been my favorite film maker for a long time now. I hope he doesn’t get too obsessed with blockbuster action movies, I want him to go back to making serious films like he did with “Memento”. Don’t get me wrong, what he did to the Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception was pretty amazing, you just need to see that Chris is more than just superhero movies. Chris is one of the best film makers alive today and I’m sure he will make plenty more amazing movies, in the future.

You should check out “Following”,  on Netflix. If you watch movies like “Following” and “Memento”, you would see exactly why he got the job to direct the Batman movies. Christopher Nolan is a genius. He’s not afraid to get what he wants when film making and he’s a master screen writer too. I’ve seen all of his directed movies, even “Insomnia” and “The Prestige”. Honestly though, I really wish he would make a few more Batman movies like everyone else ’cause I want to see his take on the Riddler and the Penguin, but Chris wants to move on from Batman and do other things. I just felt the Dark Knight trilogy ended too soon, and there’s more of a story to be told.

BREAKING NEWS: Warner Bros. win full copyrights of Superman… officially…

Today, it was announced that Warner Bros. scored a huge victory over the long battle of the Superman copyright case. The reason? Simply put, the Siegel heirs already sold the Superman copyrights to WB/DC years ago (like I’ve been repeatedly saying in this blog). So that reason alone will force the Siegel heirs to lose the rights to the character. It doesn’t make any sense why the Siegel’s sold the rights to WB’s years ago and now they want them back. It’s all ego with this Marc Toberoff guy, the sleazy lawyer who reps the Siegel’s. Sure, I understand that the character belongs to it’s original creator, but come on people, Jerome Siegel, even allowed Warner’s/DC to be in charge of the character, even when he was alive back in the day.

I’m glad this battle is just about over. “Man of Steel” may already have been finished and it’s about to get released this summer but, now that WB’s has full control of the copyrights, they can do what they want for the upcoming sequels.

I’m looking forward to “Man of Steel”, in June, and you betcha, I will try to see that film on the day it comes out. While I am a fan of superheros, Superman will always be my No. 1.

Cool Video: “Man of Steel” trailer #2 is now online!!!

Warner Bros., just released the new trailer for “Man of Steel”, with actual footage from the film. From what I’ve seen so far, looks pretty amazing. I’m impressed, and the trailer gave me goosebumps. You get a closer look at the other characters in the film finally, including a first look at Michael Shannon as General Zod, which you can see him at 1:52, in the trailer. I really hope this is a great Superman movie that we’ve all been wanting, so please, please, let this be good!

This is the trailer you will see in front of “The Hobbit”, this weekend.

Enjoy all!
