Report: “The Expendables 2” slated for August 17th, 2012 release date…

Lionsgate Studios, have confirmed a release date, for “The Expendables 2” sequel. It will come out, August 17th in 2012. Stallone announced a while back that he wasn’t going to write and direct the next film but he still IS going to star the leading role as his character, Barney Ross. I’m sure Sly will still help out with the casting ’cause only he knows the right tough guys for a movie like this.

I hope they get a good director for the next movie.Who do I think the director is gonna be? I think the director is gonna be none other than Dolph Lundgren. Here is why… 1) Sly and Dolph have been best friends for years 2) Sly directed Dolph two times, Sly would want to give Dolph the opportunity to direct him. How much do you want to bet the director will be, Dolph? Dolph has so much directing experience and this would be a great opportunity for Dolph to direct a movie for the big screen, instead of direct-to-DVD. Dolph starred in the first “Expendables” movie, so he would know so much about it already. Plus, Dolph would make it great.

Looking forward to the sequel, hope it will be better than the first.

Cool Video: Dolph Lundgren sings and dances to Elvis live on stage! Yes this is for real!

Dolph Lundgren, the action hero, recently hosted a Swedish yearly TV event called, “Melodifestivalen”. It’s a music competition similar to “America’s Got Talent/Idol” but different. Read more on, “Melodifestivalen”, here.

Many movie fans don’t know this, but other than being an expert martial artist and movie star, Dolph’s other passion is music. He was a musician before he became famous for movies. Dolph always loved to sing and play the drums. He’s got to show off his musical talent in his directed action movie, “Command Performance”, but never live on the performing stage. Dolph finally gets his opportunity to perform live.

Here he is, singing and dancing to Elvis’s “A Little Less Conversation”. He’s a badass in this video and does a good job. Just shows he would make a good host for the Oscars this coming year although I know he would never make it but it would be cool if he did host the, Oscars. Enjoy this video and have a laugh! Dolph sings good, I’m surprised!

Report: Sylvester Stallone confesses Steve Austin broke his neck while filming, “The Expendables”…

In the upcoming, new Stallone flick, “The Expendables”, set to release in August 2010… Sly admits to FHM magazine that he had a serious injury while filming a real fight scene with Stone Cold Steve Austin (former WWE superstar). Sly revealed that he was taken to the emergency room. He had major surgery and says he now has a metal plate in his neck.

He also revealed that Dolph Lundgren almost killed him when Sly ordered him to knock him out for a scene.

Geez, Sly. How much longer are you going to keep doing action films doing your own stunts? Sly is doing “Rambo V” next and I wonder if he’ll keep doing real fighting in the next Rambo movie? Probably.

Sly is going to kill himself doing this, lol!!!!

Report: Dolph Lundgren in talks to have some type of role in “Conan”, whether it’ll be a cameo, supporting role or the lead…

Like I said, Dolph being in Stallone’s, “The Expendables” will give him a lot of opportunities, and it’s already happening for Dolph. Dolph announced that he is in talks with the producers of Conan, saying that he may get some type of role. He refuses to say which role he will be getting. Whether it will be a tiny cameo, or a supporting role, or even the lead. Dolph can even get signed on as Conan, the main character himself. It’s too early to say.

Dolph wouldn’t be a bad Conan, but I think this movie is aimed for a younger Conan. I’d say make Dolph as the main villain in the new “Conan”.

I’m happy for Dolph that his career is already getting good. After “The Expendables” is released, his straight to DVD nightmare will finally be over for him. It’s going to be great to see Dolph back on the big screen and not on the small screen. 🙂

Film Review: Command Performance

Starring: Dolph Lundgren, Melissa Ann Smith

Directed by: Dolph Lundgren

So today at Best Buy, I picked up Dolph’s new Direct-To-DVD movie, “Command Performance”.

Here is my review:

Plot/Synopsis: Joe’s rock n’ roll band is about to open a huge show in Russia for an American pop star, named, Venus. Joe is a drummer for the band which his band just got offered a record deal by Venus, the pop star. As Venus, hits the stage to perform, Russian terrorists began to take over the concert arena. Killing almost everyone including the audience at random. The terrorist holds Venus, the Russian President, and the presidents two little daughters hostage for ransom. Joe is the only civilian left in the concert arena and now it’s all up to him on how to survive. Joe also teams up with a Russian F.S.B. agent.

Only thing though, Joe won’t use guns because he is afraid of them, he would only fight with his bare hands. The reason is, he used to be in a biker gang in his past and his brother was murdered by Colombians in front of his face. Joe, now must rescue the hostages and kill the terrorist leader, Coleg.

Judging by the plot/synopsis of the film, I thought the film was going to be kind of stupid. I bought it ’cause I was a fan of Dolph and was curious to see it, ’cause it looked like a pretty good action ride.

It was a fun action movie, but it was more than that. It turned out to be a serious film, something like this can happen in real life. The film was shot with cheap 35mm cameras, very low budget film, it was paid for $4 million. The movie was actually shot in Russia.

I have never seen any of Dolph’s straight to DVD movies in the past, but I was actually pretty impressed with, “Command Performance”. It actually had a good story. It was pretty gripping and unpredictable in fact. Some impressive fight scenes and some humor throughout.

I can see that Dolph’s film making style is very similar to Sly Stallone, so you can tell that Dolph learned his film making from Sly mostly. Just because a movie goes straight to DVD doesn’t mean it’s bad. It’s not that the studio doesn’t want it go to theater. Maybe the director, Dolph, doesn’t care to make it go to theater. Dolph just makes movies just for the love of making movies, not caring if his movies go to theater or not.

I kind of wished this movie DID get a nationwide theater release ’cause I can see this film doing well in the box office. Oh well, I’m sure this film will sell well on DVD anyways.

Dolph is gonna do great in “The Expendables” when that movie hits theaters. It’s going to be awesome to see Dolph back on the big screen finally when “Expendables” hits the theater.

Dolph’s “Command Performance” kicks total ass. I fuckin’ loved it! Great work Dolph!

Score for “Command Performance” = **** (4 stars as in “Excellent”)

Dolph Lundgren’s “Command Performance” on DVD/Blu Ray now!!!

Dolph Lundgren’s “Command Performance”, a straight to DVD movie is out on DVD/Blu Ray in stores now. I think I will buy the DVD this week, I’m interested in seeing the film. This movie was released on Nov. 3rd, the same day that Dolph’s birthday is on. So yeah, Dolph has a very good reason to celebrate his birthday about!  That was another reason he appeared on Conan O’ Brien, to help promote this film that was just released on his birthday.

Although this film looks goofy and silly, it looks like a blast to watch with lots of action.

Thought: Speaking of Dolph Lundgren

After seeing Dolph on Conan O’ Brien last night, briefly, I thought of something. Dolph is obviously most well known for playing Ivan Drago in “Rocky IV” which is why he got on “The Tonight Show” to begin with ’cause he knew the audience would give him a huge crowd reaction. When Dolph showed up on stage, you saw in that video that the crowd loved Dolph.

What I don’t understand is, if everyone still loves Dolph, why does the man continue to have a direct-to-DVD career? When he tries to do a theaterical release movie like “Masters of the Universe”, “Universal Soldier” or “The Punisher”, he fails in the box office at those movies. Dolph hasn’t had a theaterical release movie in a long time.

This is about to change, Dolph fans.

Stallone got Dolph in, “The Expendables”, and that movie is theaterical release WORLDWIDE, not direct to DVD. I’m sure “The Expendables” will be a box office smash and that film will help Dolph become a mainstream star again like he was back in his Rocky IV days.

After “The Expendables”, I’m sure that film will help Dolph’s film directing career big time. He won’t be a straight to DVD king anymore after that film is released.

I kind of feel bad for Dolph that he hasn’t had a good film career, but I still give him the respect that he kept working over the years. Dolph is a talented guy and he deserves a successful career. This will happen for him, after “The Expendables”.

Cool Video: Dolph Lundgren makes surprise appearance on the Tonight Show with Conan O’ Brien…

Last night, on the Conan O’ Brien show, he came up with a pretty good idea that he was going to announce a few celebrity birthdays, and he was going to have one of them appear on the show. Hide a celebrity in a huge box and will reveal who it is later in the show.

Dolph Lundgren appears on the Tonight Show celebrating his birthday with Conan O’ Brien. Dolph hardily ever appears on TV that much and it’s good to see him again. Dolph is still looking good, too. Happy Birthday Dolph!

Cool Video: New trailer for “Command Performance”, a film by Dolph Lundgren!!!

Here is the official trailer for Dolph’s next directed movie that he also stars the leading role in called, “Command Performance”. About a rock concert being invaded by terrorists, so Dolph has his rock band help fight them off, lol!

The movie looks silly and whacky as hell, but looks fun and entertaining. Dolph, keepin’ it 80’s style.

Not sure if “Command Performance” is a nationwide release, or will be only played in select theaters or another one of his straight to videos.

Dolph next stars in Stallone’s, “The Expendables” which is a nationwide big screen release.

Enjoy the “Command Performance” trailer below.
