Report: Robert Plant and Allison Krauss in no hurry to end collaboration…

Robert Plant and Allison Krauss love their “Raising Sand” album too much that the pair don’t plan to stop making music together anytime soon. Robert says he wants to stay close to this project as much as possible. Meaning, he not want this to be just a side project, he wants his collaboration with Allison to be a full time thing. So expect Robert and Allison to make more albums together down the road.

Billboard reports:

I wish people would get their minds off Led Zeppelin and concentrate on this project with Allison and Robert. I love the “Raising Sand” album, it’s Robert’s best project outside of Zeppelin. Robert and Allison’s project has been overshadowed some by the Led Zeppelin reunion which is kind of sad. “Raising Sand” is excellent stuff and Robert deserves more respect with his project with Allison.

Report: R. Kelly trial jurors begin deliberations…

The R. Kelly child pornography case has been handed to the jury today for their deliberations after the closing arguments were finished. No word on when the judge will read the verdict. I guess it’s whenever the jury decides whether he is guilty or not guilty.

The Associated Press reports:

While I would like to find R. Kelly guilty, I’m not defending him, I’d like to see the man locked up for a long time, but I don’t see it happening. R. Kelly got good lawyers for this one and he is looking “not guilty” at this point. I’ve been following the R. Kelly trial. I hope he’s guilty myself but I don’t think it’s gonna happen.

Click here to see what Marky says about the Funky Bunch reunion:

Mark did a smart thing by not bringing the Funky Bunch back, he should stick to acting as he is better at that.

Report: Where ever Metallica roams the internet…

Metallica is in the news again! Yep, more Metallica internet controversy since their infamous Napster battle 8 years ago. Metallica themselves invited some profesional music bloggers for a private listen of the entire new Metallica album but a few of the bloggers reviewed the album without the band’s consent.

Metallica wrote this on their official website, allowing fans to read those reviews by the bloggers selected:

http://www.metallica.com/index.asp?item=600942

Come on the boys in Metallica! This isn’t the 80’s anymore! You have to learn the 1st amendment online.

By reading the reviews myself, the album sounds great and can’t wait to hear it myself.

BREAKING NEWS: Disturbed at no. 1 in Billboard this week…

Is hard rock starting a new revolution again like it did in the 90’s? Hard rock and metal sure is trying to destroy pop music because Disturbed just did that by making no. 1 in the Billboard Top 200 with their new album “Indestructible”. This is Disturbed 4th album in their discography and their 3rd no. 1 album in their career.

While the band hasn’t made that much albums over the years, the band still seems to grow huge attention in the mainstream music industry. I believe Don Donegan’s impressive guitar playing is respondible for this, he is one of today’s best rock guitarists, hands down.

Rock music is slowly trying to take over mainstream music and we hope it continues. With rock bands like Aerosmith, Stone Temple Pilots, Guns N’ Roses, Ac/Dc, etc. all might be coming out with new albums this year could be all over the Billboard.

Billboard reports:

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003814785

There’s not many good rock bands out today but Disturbed is one of the newer bands that I love. I think “Sickness” is a mind blowing and amazing album.

Disturbed could be considered the next Led Zeppelin/Rollngstones in the next 20 years if Disturbed stays together that long.

I hope Disturbed stays together for a long time. They are a great band that knows what music is supposed to be about.

Report: Lionel Richie defends adopted daughter Nicole Richie at TV Land Awards…

Nicole Richie maybe the worlds most hated celebrity these days, but Lionel Richie don’t think so. At the TV Land Awards, the former Commodores singer accepted his award for the “icon” honor, when he took the stage to give his speech, he completely ignored the many years that he spent on music and expressed his love for his adopted daughter Nicole Richie, the star of the TV reality series “The Simple Life”.

Lionel Richie said, “Just forget about surviving 40 years in the music business, just surviving 27 years of Nicole Richie has been a struggle and a half.”

He said that as a piece of advice for all parents out there.

The Associated Press reports:

It’s nice to see him realize that family is more important than a stupid award. I bet he went on there just to defend his daughter.

I’m a fan of Lionel Richie though, I love him in the Commodores and enjoy his solo stuff too. I saw Lionel Richie in concert once a long time ago, the guy’s a hell of a performer.

It’s pretty sweet he’s coming here instead of the Times Union Center!!!! We get to see the man a little closer at SPAC since the place is pretty small.

I’m sure Dylan is familiar with Saratoga Springs, he used to play here at small coffeehouses long ago when he was just starting out in his career, Caffe Lena was one of the venues he started out when Lena Spencer was alive.
