Report: Mason Jennings release new record under Jack Johnson’s record label, Brushfire Records…

Singer/songwriter Mason Jennings, recently dropped off major label Epic records for one album (which was “Boneclouds” released in 2006), Jennings just recently released “In the Ever” under Jack Johnson’s label called, Brushfire Records, which is a smaller indie label owned by Johnson.

To hear some new Mason Jennings tracks off the new record “In the Ever” go to his myspace:

http://www.myspace.com/masonjennings

Congrats on going back to indie Mason! Back to his roots where he belongs!

In case you haven’t noticed, now that Mason is no longer a major label artist, you can see he has more time to post in his myspace blog himself more often now. When he was signed in Epic, he hardily ever posted in his blog.

His new songs are sounding great and I’m definitely getting the new album!

Report: Dunkin’ Donuts pull the plug on Rachael Ray’s commercial…

The Dunkin’ Donuts company had just pulled the plug on a Dunkin’ Donuts commercial which starred Albany, N.Y.’s own Rachael Ray. Rachael Ray, a “so-called” America’s sweetheart (or a snob the way I say it), was wearing a scarf in the commercial which blogger Michelle Malkin says it is a jihadi chic keffiyeh scarf which is a scarf worn by Arab men that symbolized murderous Palestinian jihad.  The Dunkin Donuts Senior Vice President responded back saying, the scarf was selected by a stylist, it was not intended for symbolism.

More on it here:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24860437/

To read Michelle Malkin’s blog entry about it, click here:

http://michellemalkin.com/2008/05/28/the-keffiyeh-kerfuffle/

So if Dunkin’ Donuts pulled the plug on the commercial and say it wasn’t intended for symbolism, that means they are scared to admit that Michelle Malkin is right.

Example of the keffiyeh scarf using some random google image:

It’s about time the media did something right on Rachael Ray for once. I’m tired of the world thinking that she’s so glorifying and wonderful when she’s one of the biggest egos on this planet.

WWE Draft predictions…

So Mr. McMahon is bringing back “The Draft”. For those who don’t know anything about the Draft, it is something where WWE superstars get switched and changed around to different brands and shows. Any superstar can get moved to a certain brand whether it’s RAW, SMACKDOWN OR ECW. It can even be superstars that are champions or even announcers.

  • John Cena – goes to Smackdown
  • JBL – goes to ECW
  • Chris Jericho – goes to Smackdown
  • Umaga – goes to ECW
  • Mr. Kennedy – stays on RAW
  • Jeff Hardy – goes to Smackdown
  • Carlito – goes to ECW
  • Santino Marella – goes to Smackdown

The SMACKDOWN Brand:

  • Rey Mysterio – goes to ECW
  • MVP – goes to RAW
  • Gregory Helms – goes to ECW
  • Mark Henry – goes to RAW
  • The Great Khali – goes to ECW

The ECW Brand

  • CM Punk – goes to RAW
  • Kane – stays on ECW
  • Big Daddy V – stays on ECW
  • The Boogeyman – goes to Smackdown
  • Chavo Guerrero – goes to RAW

Report: Michael Hollick the voice of Niko Bellic for “Grand Theft Auto IV” wants to get paid more…

Michael Hollick (pictured above) who is the leading star of “Grand Theft Auto IV” and has done the voiceovers for the leading character Niko Bellic is demanding more money from all the long and hard work he’s done for the videogame. Hollick reveals the shocking news that he was only paid, $100,000 for 15 months, yet, he has to suffer and witness the game make much more than that.

More on the story here:

http://videogames.yahoo.com/feature/gta-iv-star-only-made-100-000/1215423

Maybe they will pay him more now that he spoke out on this. I’m with Hollick on this, doing voice overs for a videogame sounds like long and tough work, and he only gets paid very little. BULLSHIT!

If they don’t pay him more at all, hope Hollick got some good lawyers in handy.

Thought: Why do I play music?

Some of you may wonder what made me do this. What made me become a musician and songwriter to do what I do. Do I do this to try and become popular and get as many fans as possible? That would be nice, but to honest, I don’t care about popularity. Never had. If people want to become a loyal fan/follower of Kev Brock, that’s great, I’m all for that. If people want to think that I suck musically and think I’m one of the worst musicians that you ever heard, that’s great, I’m all for that too.

I am in it simply for the love and enjoyment of music. To be part of the musicians scene and to be sharing the music to the world. Although I do love performing live in front of an audience, I don’t really like performing too many shows. I am about sharing my original work to people. The songs that I write, I enjoy the feeling of getting honest feedback from people and it lets me know that people really do listen to my stuff.

I don’t believe in making profesionally made music albums, real albums like you see in the stores, I just feel that is not my thing. No offense to local musicians out there that do make real albums. If people want copies of my songs, I wouldn’t spend so much on CD manufacturing, I’ll just simply burn my songs on a blank CD for them. Who needs a real CD with cover art and lyrics in the booklet when all you need is blank discs you get from Kmart or Radioshack to make a demo album? I’m in it to get my tunes heard like everyone else.

To have fun playing and have fun performing. I’m not in it for the rock star thing. I’m not a self inflated ego being obsessed with popularity, if popularity is what you want, that’s fine. I just want to be part of music and enjoying it.

And a reminder, I have a show at P4th this weekend on Sat. May 31st, opening for No call No Show, and some other band. The show starts at 9:00 p.m. I’ll be there for my set for sure. So hopefully some of you will too. I believe the show is free to get in. A road trip to a Kev Brock show is worth it, trust me.

Cool Video: Mr. McMahon brings back the WWE Draft and another shockin’ announcement…

From last night’s RAW, youtube won’t delete this one since this video is under the official WWE youtube page.

And by the way, I don’t think McMahon is serious on giving away $1 million to the WWE audience, it’s probably another one of his tricks, a heel type of thing.

Is this a clue that Shane McMahon could be the next RAW GM… HERE COMES THE MOOONEEEYYYYyy!

Enjoy.

REMINDER: Rambo DVD/Blu Ray out now!

The new Rambo has invaded DVD and Blu Ray today. You can now officially purchase all 4 Rambo films on Blu Ray and on DVD both.

I won’t need to buy the first three Rambo films since I already have the first three, I’ll be buying the new Rambo movie most definitely, I’m picking it up this week, probably Friday on my day off of work.

I’m still trying to decide whether I should get it on Blu Ray or regular DVD. I’ll probably get the Blu Ray.
