BREAKING NEWS: Fox confirms “24: Live Another Day”, Kiefer Sutherland set to return as Jack Bauer…

HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! \m/ I’m pretty stoked for this.

FOX makes the huge announcement this morning that they have ordered a 12 episode run for, “24: Live Forever”, which will makes it debut in the summer of 2014!!! Kiefer has officially signed on to return as Jack Bauer. The show will still have it’s original format. The split screens, the ticking clock, the violence, action scenes, Jack Bauer’s short tempered personality, etc.

Look like the new series will leave off from where the final season ended, after all. It’ll take place several years after the events of the finale of the final season. Howard Gordon is on board again, so that makes it even better.

No plot points have been revealed yet, but I hope they don’t do any of the Jack Bauer hunts down Osama Bin Laden or any of the Boston Bombing stuff. Will any of the characters from the earlier seasons return? I really hope Elisha Cuthbert will return as Kim Bauer. Maybe Carlos Bernard can return as Tony Almeida too (minor spoiler: Tony is not dead yet, was just arrested by the FBI).

This is fantastic news that “24” is coming back. It’s about time too!

See the official press release, here.

Maybe getting a nice girlfriend wouldn’t be all that difficult after all???

Women are becoming more and more easier for me to talk to, in fun conversation. I’ll have to publicly admit that I am quite shy around them… seriously. I am working on trying to become more confident around the ladies. It definitely is a learning skill and takes a bit of practice to get used to talking to them. Treat them like human beings, treat them with respect, and you could be on your way to your first potential date with them. All you have to do is when you see a pretty lady you might be interested in, just walk up and say, “Hi, how are you doing?” — You never know, things will hit it off from there. I’m trying to get out of the house more and trying to be more sociable with people.

I went to Tulip Fest in Albany yesterday (yes you guess it, to see EBJ play — they kill it on stage like usual). After that, we all went to hang out at some bar in Albany to hang out with friends. I don’t drink anymore, I just wanted to hang out and do something since it’s better than staying home doing nothing, ya know? I’m trying to get out more. Meet new people and hoping to make new friends of my own to hang out with.

A lot of people like to comment on me that I’m a pretty quiet and shy person. To be honest, it’s true. I’m the type of person who is only very talkative to people I know really well like family members or people I know from Greenwich. I only talk to people only if they speak to me first and then I’ll gladly respond. I’m looking to change my life around. Trying to be more sociable, even to people I don’t even know.

Back to the conversation of women, you know how they all say that “women won’t bite” — it’s true. Women seem to enjoy talking to me every time I go out. I don’t know what it is. Maybe it could be my muscle building physique and maybe women find me attractive looking after all? Maybe they just find me a good guy? Maybe a combination of all three? I like giving women kisses too. Nothing that serious, just a big hug and a quick kiss on the cheek. They usually don’t mind either. They like it, I think. At least I have confidence to do that. Next goal is to actually try to ask for her number and even ask her out in front of her face. I was talking to a couple of gorgeous ladies at the bar I was hanging out in Albany last night. Good times.

Getting a woman should be easy, you just gotta know how to do it, and do it right.

So that’s what I did on Mother’s Day yesterday. Before anyone asks, yes, I did spend some time with my mother. Went out for breakfast in the morning.

Weird responses from people about your music part II…

Yes, I am aware that people refuse to support my music ’cause of my singing, playing or even my online web presence. There are even some folks who even said good things about my music but they still refuse to support my stuff ’cause of my online web presence. I am aware that people refuse to support me ’cause of my image, who I am as a person or the way I discuss things online. It’s all idiotic and very hypocritical, I know. There are so many people in the local music scene who claim they support “local music” but a lot of them seem to forget that I’m a musician and singer/songwriter myself. There are some kind people who are willing to support but we need more people supporting everything, even my own music. That’s okay if people don’t care and if they don’t want to do that. I can’t please everyone. I’ll just continue to play for the small fanbase who continue to support my music and that’s all I need really, that makes me happy enough.

That previous post about “Weird” responses and criticism wasn’t just about me. It was about other musicians & bands who go through the same things I do. Trying to give advice to them that  they shouldn’t feel offended by the mixed responses, and see it as something inspirational. It helps make you an even more stronger and powerful person as a musician.

If you want to go somewhere in music, another trick is not listening to what anybody have to say about you. Just keep doing what you do. Simply put, to keep it small and simple — fuck everybody. If people don’t like what you do, you don’t have to give up. The more you keep going in music whether people like it or not, the more respect you will get from the people. It lets people know that you can be a confident and tough SOB ’cause they’ll know that’s what you love to do is playing music for the love and passion of it. Don’t listen to the nay sayers, haters, and doubters. Just be yourself, do whatcha wanna do, ya know?

If people refuse to support your music, just keep going. There will be some that will like what you do and they will be loyal followers. Proving people wrong that you can be something special in music is what it’s all about. Yes, there are going to be a lot of those who will be openly outspoken about you; people who are not afraid to publicly talk trash about you. I get that stuff all the time from other bands and people from the music scene. If there are negative people who can’t say anything positive about you at all, chances are, they are jealous. They know that you are doing something with yourself, while they sit there and do nothing.

A lot of bands & solo artists like to assume they are so big and talented; I never had that attitude. I’ve always liked to let the music speak on it’s own, and that’s the way it should be, ya know? I can never tell if I’m liked or how popular I am and it’s good to be that way. If other bands & musicians think they are liked by everybody and if they think they’re so good, chances are, they have a huge ego problem, and that’ll make me not want to support your music right there. Just be real and humble with yourself.

Happy Mothers Day and hope you’re all having a good one.

Weird responses from people about your music….

You try your best to get the word out for your music. You’re proud of what you do musically and try your best to get everyone to like it and support it. Sometimes a small amount of people will be kind enough to support you but sure enough, there will be a handful of others who won’t support you. You will get a lot of people pretending to be nice about your music when in reality, they don’t really like what you do and they are afraid to admit it publicly as a way of being polite. You try to get people to join your facebook fan pages, twitter or other social networking sites; even your own family members and friends refuses to support your music. Some don’t mind you promoting yourself; some will find it annoying. Yes, you’re gonna come across a lot of people with whacky and strange attitudes. The people who don’t support your music prefer to support other bands who think that are more talented than you. You’ll get mixed reactions. I go through it all the time.

When you see all this, the last thing you want to do is see all of this as a bad thing. It actually lets you know that you do have something special with your music. Your fellow musicians and other people in the area who refuse to support your music even if they are nice to you are probably just a little bit “jealous” of you in a way.

When I support other bands & musicians, I’ve never had that kind of attitude. If you’ve noticed the way I supported local music over the years, I supported other bands ’cause I really mean it that I like their music. I was never the one to pretend to like their music just to be polite type, know what I mean? I know what talent is all about in a musician. I know a talented musician when I see one. If I don’t like a bands/artists music, I will try to find ways to say things without trying to hurt them. A lot of people around here like to be openly opinionated and outspoken of other bands, that has never been me. I like to treat music in a positive direction whether locally or nationally. I’m not negative about music that much. Once in a while, I’ll have something  negative to say about bands/artists but I try not to do that too much anymore.

I like to support other bands & artists as a music fan myself; not just to promote my own music, ya know? I like to be real with music. I’ll support bands/artists if I like their music so much and if I don’t like their stuff, I’ll just be nice about it and try to keep that opinion to myself. If other bands & musicians chooses to treat me in a negative direction, I’ll just act like they’re dead to me and it’s been working quite fine.

The trick is, just keep doing your thing with your music and don’t let the weird and mixed responses get to ya. Don’t be offended by it. Look at it as an inspiration and something to learn from. I certainly learned a lot from it! There’s going to be plenty of folks who are afraid to admit that you are talented yet they refuse to support you out of jealousy. It’s a good thing actually. Let ’em get jealous and pissed off at your talent. It’s letting you know, that you are good. Not trying to sound like an ego-maniac here. Just being real.

More on Obama and Benghazi…

President Obama maybe in hot water right now for the attacks of Benghazi, but one thing I don’t get is how could one person still be silent after all the heated backlash he’s getting from the people? If so many people were hating on you for doing something bad, wouldn’t you want to respond to them? Come forward with information? Maybe give yourself up or even try to defend yourself? President Obama refuses to do all that stuff. The President is getting so much disrespect. The more he continues to stay silent about Benghazi, the more it shows that he’s all about power & greed. Why doesn’t he appear on television to tell America the truth which the people have been begging him to do for a long time? I think the only reason that Obama continues to stay silent about it ’cause he knows it’s gonna get him impeached. He knows he’s gonna suffer some harsh consequences, and he knows he’ll be in deep shit.

Sure enough, there are gonna be a handful of people who think Obama is innocent. Not only the supporters, even some anti-Obama people think he’s innocent as well. Some anti-Obama people claim they hate Obama, yet, they continue to defend him for whatever reason. Then they compare Obama to George W. Bush, claiming George W. is much worse. If people really feel that way, then they are traitors of America. This is not about George W. Bush or any other Presidents. Yes, I agree, other Presidents can be no different than Obama. Other Presidents have done much worse, but I find it idiotic how the people try to defend Obama by saying other Presidents did similar things. It’s just shows how they are not intelligent and shows they don’t know what the hell they are talking about. Want to know what I think about these people who compare Obama to other Presidents? They’re all hypocrites. Since they don’t like people saying how Obama is evil and all, they’re doing the same thing by accusing other Presidents of being evil. See, what I’m saying? I’m just making an observation here. Not afraid to say it. The Obama supporters or the anti-Obama people who continue to show him sympathy are just delusional people who need to wake up and look at reality.

It’s amazing to me how the attacks of Benghazi, is not good enough to show what kind of an evil son of a bitch, Obama really is. Obama is the commander in chief so that means he’s in charge of the US consulate in Libya. Obama calls the shots. He was the one who gave the orders of the military to not help the victims, and I also believe he was the one who ordered all those gunmen to attack the consulate, wouldn’t surprise me. He’s using Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice as protectors to help cover himself up.

Of course, this brings back memories to the Richard Nixon Watergate controversy. When Richard Nixon got busted for Watergate, he resigned just before he was getting ready to get impeached for his actions. He tried to break in the Democratic National Committee and tried to get away with it. Kind of like what Obama is doing with Benghazi.

I don’t see how people can believe Obama is innocent over Benghazi, he’s not, far from it. It’s gonna be interesting to see what’s gonna happen when the truth will come out, and believe me, it will. You can’t hide forever. You can’t get away with doing something bad. This also makes Obama a hypocrite since he shows sympathy for attacks in the U.S. when he’s the biggest terrorist of them all. He needs to be held accountable. Everybody knows. We’re not gonna ignore this. If you hurt Americans, then you hurt us. Period. End of story. When ever violence happens, they can’t be ignored. That includes Benghazi. It doesn’t matter who is behind the attack. Whether it’s Al Qaeda or any other terrorist groups whether it’s an American politician or who ever, we’re NOT gonna ignore violence who kills innocent Americans.

I believe Obama’s plan all along was to assassinate Ambassador Stevens over that Islamic youtube video. Obama is possibly hiding more survivors and protecting them, hiding more witnesses. Besides the three witnesses that were at the last Benghazi hearings, I’m feeling that there are still more witnesses out there.

I just wish the President would give himself up. Tell the truth, resign, and maybe turn himself in. He better or an impeachment will be on his way soon enough. Hopefully, an impeachment will be quick before he ends up serving his full 2nd term. Some of you may ask, if Obama gets impeached then we’ll have to put up with Biden? True, but in all honesty, the entire Obama administration needs to go down and that includes Hillary. They all need to be impeached and get prosecuted. They’re all evil scum bags. Every last one of them.

My music…

Yes, I really am thinking about changing my music into a different direction. Taking the “music” more seriously and start writing some actual songs. Start writing some real and honest stuff. I really want to try writing some slower and folky kind of songs. Kind of like what Springsteen and Neil Young do. I just bought 3 different books on poetry, so I would start reading through those for lyrical inspiration; hoping to make my lyrics a little more poetic. I just want to start writing songs that everyone could enjoy. I really do believe I have what it takes to write heartfelt original folk songs. I have been listening to acoustic music and folk music for many years, so I have an idea of what the genre would sound like by now. Like I said before, I’ll do rock n’ roll. I’m just trying to be more versatile, ya know??? I need to write an original folk song, get it uploaded to see what kind of response I get.

I’m just beginning to feel that maybe people really do like my music out there after all. People say positive stuff about my music and it means a lot, ya know? That’s part of the reason why I want to get my music going again ’cause of the positive responses. When those negative people accuse you of being nothing in music, don’t listen to that shit. Don’t listen to the doubters. The key to being successful in music and moving forward is supporting the fans who do support your music, ignoring all the haters completely. Yeah, you’re gonna get haters but all musicians & bands have their share of haters. I’m sure EBJ even has their share of haters as well. All bands have ’em. Bands don’t respond to any of them ’cause it’s a professional thing to do. If you become defensive over negative criticism, then you’re not gonna get any further in your music career. I need to take that advice in mind as well.

I’m gonna be making some changes in my official facebook fanpage and already made a change. Changing the facebook URL; making it easier for people to find me. Feel free to join it, here: https://www.facebook.com/kevbrockmusic

I’m kind of serious on changing into the folk genre. I just want a wider audience and people seem to be into that stuff more than the rock n’ roll. I’ll still play rock n’ roll ’cause that’s what I like the most and could never give up the rock. \m/

Report: John McCain wants to make TV cheaper for America…

Senator McCain maybe America’s most hated politician but looks like he’s trying to redeem himself by introducing a new bill to Congress that could help make TV cheaper and more affordable to everyone. McCain appears to be fed up with the high pricing of cable TV just as much as we are, and he wants to put a change to that. So he introduced a new bill to Congress called, “The Television Consumer Freedom Act”, a bill that allows the consumer to choose the channel in their subscriptions instead of the overpriced bundle thing.

While it’s a nice idea, and I actually like this bill a lot, it’s going to be kind of tough to get it passed through Congress for it to get handed to the President for consideration. Getting a bill signed into a law is not an easy process. It has to go through all of these things first before it’s handed to the President. First, it needs to get reviewed by the committees and subcommittees where it can be accepted, amended or rejected. If it’s accepted, then it’ll get passed to the full committee and if they like it, the bill will get passed to the Senate for consideration. Then the Senate will debate it, discuss it, and vote on it. It must be passed through both houses of Congress before it’s handed to the President, though. Even if the Senate agrees to the bill, and it’s handed to the President, that still doesn’t mean the bill went through. The President has the power to throw the bill out if he doesn’t agree with it and he has the right to sign it too. They have a long road to get up there.

The bill is a nice idea and will change American history if the bill actually gets signed by the President if it gets that far. I agree that cable TV is ridiculously high these days, and I wish they would cut down the prices of the sports PPVs too. While I do love watching wrestling, boxing, and UFC; I don’t watch any of their ppvs ’cause they’re so pricey.

McCain is doing a good thing and it’s a worth a try. Even though, he’s not everyone’s favorite politician, I’m sure he just got a little respect from the people for this one time. I hope this bill does go as far as getting to the President to get signed by him. Will Obama go for it, though? I think he would. Obama seems to be a big TV lover himself, and he might even agree with the bill.

Report: Kiefer Sutherlund in negotiations to return to “24” but as mini-series???

Sometimes you gotta feel bad for Kiefer. Kiefer tries to do other projects besides, “24”, but when he tries other things (like other TV shows, movie roles, etc.) he is not successful. It seems he only gets success with, “24”. FOX is cancelling his show, “Touch”, after two seasons, so they are immediately looking for more work for Kiefer. It’s no surprise they are thinking about bringing “24” back to the small screen. I loved “24”. Saw every episode back-to-back, watched every season on Netflix a long while back. “24” is awesome. What’s going on with the big screen “24” movie they’ve been planning for years? Is that still happening or is that the project being turned into a TV movie instead? Either way, as long as Jack Bauer is coming back, that makes me happy.

It’s amazing to me how Kiefer doesn’t get tired of playing that character. He spent a lot of years playing that character. So I don’t think he’s completely done with Jack Bauer anytime soon. He is a badass character. For the new series they are planning, it’s not going to leave off from where the earlier seasons ended. They are starting it from scratch, in other words, a re-boot? So I don’t think we’re gonna see any of the other characters from the earlier seasons return at all, just Jack Bauer alone with completely new characters. I’m completely okay with that, ’cause like I said, Jack Bauer fuckin’ rules! Love the show, and I’ll welcome a comeback!

Deadline reports.

Cool Video: David Bowie’s “The Next Day”…

David Bowie released the official video to his next single, “The Next Day”, which is also the title track for his new album. It was reported that Christians and other religious people were offended by the material in the video ’cause the song seems to have a negative message toward religion.  If you knew David Bowie’s career as well as I do, you would realize that Bowie is no stranger to controversial songs and videos. Bowie has always been the type of guy that he will send a message through a song whether people liked it or not. He still has that attitude to this day. The video to this song maybe dark and controversial but whatever it takes for David to send a message. Seems like David is trying to tell a story to this song.

I’m sure David is being unfairly accused of being hateful against religion or being a supporter of Satan, but I’m sure that’s not his intention with this song. I’m not sure what message David is trying to send but whatever he’s doing here, he’s just being artistic like he usually is. The man is an artist; not just a musician, also kind of like a painter or a visualist. He is just trying to depict things of what goes on in his mind. The man is very creative.

I like the video and the song too, by the way. I don’t find it offensive at all. How about that Marion Cotillard, hey? Ain’t she lookin’ pretty hot in this video or what? I would say so. Even though Gary Oldman had a few lines to say in this video, his acting is gold like always.

In Bowie’s defense, you just never know what to expect from the man. He has always been unpredictable like this. You just never know what the man will come up with next.

Why missing people being found alive shouldn’t be huge news stories…

While it’s good news to hear that three missing Cleveland, Ohio women have been found alive after all these years, the media should back off. Of course, they won’t. Whenever somebody missing gets found alive, the news media are all over it. The found missing person usually gets turned into some celebrity of some sort. Look at Jaycee Dugard, perfect example. What’s next for Amanda Berry and the other two girls? Book deals? Reality shows? *pukes*

I didn’t care to watch the live-stream stuff of the Amanda Berry story. Look, it’s great news that these girls have been found alive; don’t get me wrong, ya know? It’s just pathetic that the media have to be all over them. Money and ratings; that’s all they care about. The news media really needs to back off and give these people some space. They deserve their privacy and get their lives back together after being away from their families for so many years. The media is a cruel and evil thing.

It’s a miracle that missing people get found alive but leave them the hell alone. That’s my point. When returning to society after all these years, their privacy is still gone because they become a public figure because of it. It’s making me sick. All of it.

The family didn’t have to let Amanda give out a public statement today if they didn’t want to. They had all the right to tell the media to fuck off, that’s what I would have done.
