Thought: Brock blames the Jaycee Lee Dugard kidnapping on her stepfather…

After following this Jaycee Lee Dugard kidnapping story on the internet and on TV, while it is a horrible thing that this married couple snatched up a little girl in the street…if you think about it, the kidnapping wasn’t anybody’s fault except for one person…Jaycee’s stepfather who stood there and watched the whole thing.

Don’t you think there are better ways to prevent her from being kidnapped than just chasing after the car on a bicycle? Wow…how about getting off the bike before they snatched her up, running over to her and pick her up before they did?

I totally blame the stepfather that all of this happened. If he thought of a better way to save her, then none of this would have happened. Now the stepfather is on TV doing interviews and all that. No wonder this ’caused the stepfather to split with his wife. Jaycee’s stepfather is a total douche.

Film Review: Halloween II

Starring: Tyler Mane, Sheri Moon Zombie, Scout Taylor-Compton, Malcolm Macdowell

Directed by: Rob Zombie

Just saw “Halloween II” today, on a nice hot Tuesday, I decided to take a nice long bike trip up to the Wilton Mall which wasn’t a bad trip. I enjoyed the long ride, good cardio workout.

Now on to my review of “Halloween II”:

Plot/Synopsis: Leaving right off of Rob Zombie’s first “Halloween” film, Laurie Strode struggles to get her life back together to recover from the horrible incidents that came from her confrontations with her brother, Michael Myers, a serial killer from Haddonfield. Dr. Loomis tries to tell Haddonfield that Michael Myers is dead when the public still disagrees that Michael’s body is missing.

When Laurie finds out that Michael Myers is still alive, Michael and Laurie will once again reunite. The story gets very deep with the connection of Michael Myers and Laurie. In Rob Zombie’s versions of “Halloween” it seems that Michael Myers still had a love for Laurie and never wanted to kill her although it may seem like it, this shows a strong connection between Laurie and Michael. There is also some deep insight about Michael’s mother who is played by Sheri Moon, which gets into more insight on how Michael became what he became, a murderous monster.

Despite the negative reviews of movie critics and fans, I would have to say that this is not a bad movie at all. I thought it was pretty well made. Most critics and fans accuse this movie of being nothing but a gore fest, which is probably why most didn’t like it.

You see, I disagree. The movie is more than just a gore fest, it actually has a plot and a storyline to it. Like I said above, the movie got into deep insight about Laurie Strode and Michael’s mom, this movie made you feel like Michael Myers was more human and real.

I have been watching horror flicks for years, so I’m used to the gore fest and the very dark material. The murders in the film were very brutal and intense, probably the most intense murders in a horror film I’ve ever seen. It seemed more real and things like this can happen in real life if there is a dangerous serial killer on the loose in your town.

I find this a very special film for many reasons. So to those that are trashing the film in a negative direction, is just further proof that Rob is a good film maker, a controversial guy that knows how to grab people’s attention. Rob wants Michael Myers to feel like a real person while John Carpenter’s version didn’t. Why? Well let me explain…

In John Carpenter’s version of Michael Myers, the character was crazy and insane, yes, but it didn’t really feel right. I think that’s what made Rob Zombie to remake his version ’cause he wanted the character to feel more realistic. Carpenter’s version, Michael just slowly walked around stabbing everyone that stepped in his way. Zombie’s version of the character actually did things.

People are accusing Rob Zombie that he has ruined the classic version of Carpenter’s. Per see, that’s not the case. Rob is actually making the character much better than the original. Killers are supposed to be brutal and intense, Carpenter’s wasn’t.

As long as people are hating Rob’s version and liking Carpenter’s version better, that just shows that people don’t know much about the horror genre. People are almost always about the “original” and “classics”. Rob wanted to tell stories about Michael Myers that Carpenter didn’t really tell. Rob felt there were some pretty important stuff left out that Carpenter didn’t really tell.

I thought the film was very good. I liked the fact that Rob ditched the classic Halloween theme song throughout the film, to get a different feel. I honestly thought this film was better than Rob Zombie’s first “Halloween” film. An improvement from Rob Zombie indeed.

Score for Rob Zombie’s “Halloween II”: **** (4 stars as in excellent)

Brock’s favorite music album of the summer…

Just like the movie of the summer post below, here is my favorite music album of the summer…..

I don’t buy too many new music albums of today, but I just had to get this. Ever since I got it, I can’t stop listening to it. The album has all the Spinal Tap songs from the movie, “This is Spinal Tap”, and the band written some new songs for the new record as well. This album is extremely tight, amazing guitar playing by Christopher Guest and great vocals of Michael Mckean.

These guys are old, but they are still very talented musicians and they still have it. I wish they would get away from TV and film, they should concentrate on music more. I think it’s the music that they are best at.

Really great album. I hope Spinal Tap are a full time band now, and hope they do another new album, next year.

So the summer is just about over, so you may wonder what my favorite movie of the summer is since I’ve seen quite a lot of films this year.

What is my favorite movie this year? Scroll down a little bit and find out…..

Yep, there it is. This was the best movie released this year, JJ Abrams “Star Trek”. I’ve been saying that this movie is my favorite movie of the summer of 2009 and I still stand by it.

The movie is amazing, wonderfully made and very entertaining. I’m happy JJ saved the Star Trek franchise.

I’ve seen some good movies this year, but so far, “Star Trek” is the best and I haven’t really seen anything else better than that.

Report: Carrie Prejean sues the Pageant for firing, and Brock thinks she’s going to win…

You can love Carrie Prejean or hate her, but she certainly deserves the freedom of speech and the 1st amendment like everyone else. I think her firing was wrong, and I think she will successfully win this feud. Everyone has their own opinion on gay marriage. She shouldn’t have to get fired for speaking her mind. She’s doing a good thing fighting back.

BREAKING NEWS: Disney buys Marvel for $4 Billion…

Walt Disney is now the owner of Marvel. Disney bought Marvel for $4 billions worth of stock and cash transaction. Disney is now the owner of more than a 1,000 Marvel comics superheroes, and that includes Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men and many more. Many of these Marvel superheroes were created by comic book legend, Stan Lee. Between Marvel and Disney, they will have small shares of cash for each Marvel share they own.

This gives Disney the right to control Marvel characters how ever they want to. I can’t see these Marvel characters being family friendly and kiddie like. Marvel characters were more aimed toward the PG-13 generation.

Damn, Disney.

Report: “Halloween 3D” also greenlighted this week!!

The Weinstein Co. has already greenlighted a third installment to the rebooted, Halloween, franchise…but the next one will be shot digitally in 3D, as to be retitled to, “Halloween 3D”.

Rob Zombie announced, he is no longer doing Halloween movies, as he will go on to remake, “The Blob” next. Weinstein says they are in negotiations with a new director for “Halloween 3D”, but they refuse to say who it is this time, but the director has a lot of experience directing horror films.

More on it here:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2009/08/halloween-3d-coming-in-summer-2010.html

Could the director for “Halloween 3D” be either, Marcus Nispel or James Wan? I’m betting my money it could be one of them.

I haven’t seen “Halloween II” yet, hoping to see it this week.

Report: Bad Boys III greenlighted too…

Columbia Pictures has greenlighted a third installment to the action comedy series, “Bad Boys” that stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. They have tapped screenwriter, Peter Craig, to write the film. They hope to reunite, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence for this movie. They also hope to bring back Michael Bay as director and Jerry Bruckheimer as producer.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

I did like the first “Bad Boys” movie, was entertaining…but I didn’t like the second one though. The third one probably won’t be good, ’cause I have a feeling it will be full of CGI action sequences. I’m not that excited for a Bad Boys return. It does deserve to complete the trilogy though.

Report: Stallone greenlights “Rambo 5” with Nu Image/Millenium…

Sly has been discussing about doing a “Rambo 5” ever since the fourth one came out. Well, look like he is done talking about it and actually making it happen for reals!

The plot for “Rambo 5” will be about Rambo, on a rescue mission to save a little girl that was kidnapped by human traffickers and drug lords on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Stallone is currently working on “The Expendables” which is set for a April 23rd, 2010 release date.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118007920.html?categoryid=1238&cs=1

Great news! Lets hope the next Rambo will be much longer than the last one. Lets also hope it will be bloody violent like the last one. Lets also hope Rambo will be shirtless in this one as he wasn’t in Rambo 4. I also hope they keep the original Jerry Goldsmith theme song for the film.

Rambo 4 did leave open for another movie, so you knew another one was coming anyways.

I think Sly is doing 6 Rambo movies to catch up with the 6 Rocky’s, I think that’s his plan.
