Report: Liam Neeson and Bono team for “The Virgin of Las Vegas” film…

Parallel Pictures is making a film titled, “The Virgin of Las Vegas”, which is about an aging rock band singer who is prone to drinking and living in Las Vegas. Liam Neeson is attached to star, Bono will produce. This film will mostly be about Irish bands that became popular in the U.S. who came from Ireland. Liam Neeson is from Ireland, just like Bono.

Liam singing his own vocals in a band in this movie? Interesting. Bono is probably coaching him onto singing.

MJ burial is finally happening…

The MJ burial is happening right now as you read this. Pretty much all of Michael Jackson’s supporters came out to attend the funeral that includes Lisa Marie Presley, Macaulay Culkin, Elizabeth Taylor, Chris Tucker (the comedian/actor), and more.

MJ will be buried in Glendale, California…the same cemetery where other legends were buried such as Walt Disney, Clark Gable, George Burns and more.

I’d say it’s about damn time. This should have happened a while ago, it shouldn’t take that long for a dead person to be buried.

Off to Martha’s Vineyard this weekend…

I won’t be online Saturday- Monday this weekend ’cause I’ll be going on a family vacation trip to Martha’s Vineyard, Mass this weekend. I haven’t been to that wonderful island in a long time and I want to go. It’s one of my top 5 favorite vacation spots.

I’m going to be bringing my video cam with me to document some of the trip for videoblogs on youtube. I haven’t posted any new youtube videos in a while, I want to start vlogging and I think the Martha’s Vineyard vacation is a perfect start.

I need to get away from NY state for a little bit to relax and do some fun things. Martha’s Vineyard has some great towns there, nice shopping stores, and awesome things for sight seeing.

It’ll be a great trip. Looking forward to it.

I’ll try to blog more tonight and tomorrow until I’m gone for the trip. I’m leaving Saturday early in the morning.

Thought: Watching other people work out at the gym…

When working out at my local gym, one thing I like to do is watch other people work out, while I’m resting between a set. I like to watch other people, to hopefully learn new workouts that I haven’t learned yet, or watch them how wrong they are doing things. I notice that a lot of people like to lift weights pretty quickly. They like to lift those dumbells or barbells up and down very fast.

I’m like, “huh”?

Doesn’t it make more sense that when you lift weights, you have to lift them up and down very slowly? That’s the way I look at it. I always lift weights very slowly. You feel a much stronger burn and you can pump heavier muscle that way. Lifting weights very quickly, you’re rushing it and not giving it time to build. Lifting weights quickly may build you a little muscle, but lifting very slowly gives you a lot more.

My belief is why people lift extremely heavy weights quickly in front of people is because it’s an ego thing, that they can lift heavier weights faster than you, being a show off in front of people at the gym. People at the gym can be like that, I’m noticing.

I like to do all workouts slowly. It helps you beef up way more and build strong muscle quicker that way, not lifting weights quickly.

I see other people lift weights slowly the right way to do it sometimes but I don’t see it very much at the gym. Lift weights slowly people, you’ll notice a difference if you do. Stop being a showoff in front of people and only concentrate on what you do.

Another thing I’m noticing, when people lift weights at the gym, I notice they like to clang weights together to make this sound, you don’t want to do that either. Lift weights slowly and quietly so you don’t distract other people in the gym.

I haven’t started bench presses or barbell stuff yet. I don’t think I really need to. All the bench presses and barbell stuff is pretty much the same as doing dumbell workouts, it’s just a variety of doing them. You can still get a ripped and buffed body with just doing dumbell workouts alone. If I were to start doing bench presses and barbell stuff in the future, I would only do those once in a while, not all the time. I like doing dumbell stuff mostly. I feel it’s much safer.

I have never gotten seriously injured working out so far, maybe a few little tiny strains here and there (they weren’t a big deal), but nothing that got me to the hospital. Taking your time, not rushing it and doing workouts correctly, so you won’t get injured at all is important.

Working out is great and I’m having a blast doing it. I take it with pride and passion.

Thought: Sly, please bring back Brian Dennehy as Will Teasle for Rambo 5!!!

Rambo and Will Teasle were enemies in “First Blood”, but what if Sly brought back the Will Teasle character for a small role? Sly could make it like that Will Teasle is a retired Sheriff. Rambo and Will Teasle are good friends now in “Rambo V”. They could make it that Will Teasle will be the one that talks Rambo into going onto the mission to help rescue this little girl from human traffickers and drug lords in Mexico.

Brian Dennehy is still acting in film even though he is aging, he last starred in “Righteous Kill” with Al Pacino and Robert Deniro, and Dennehy had a pretty lengthy role in that film, and he still had the acting chops.

I’d say bring him back Sly! It’ll work!

Thought: Chris Brown on Larry King tonight…

I just got done watching the Chris Brown interview on “Larry King Live” on CNN that was on earlier tonight, and man it was something else, I tell ya. All Chris was pretty much doing was trying to defend himself for it, trying to get people to feel sorry for him and forgive him, trying to prove that he isn’t the monster that people are trying to make him out to be.

Larry was getting onto him everytime, asking him tough questions that he couldn’t answer. When Larry showed him the Rihanna photo with her beaten up face that was from TMZ, Chris just looked down to the floor and then he started looking real nervous.

Throughout half of the interview, Chris looked upset and nervous as hell. Toward the end, he was all smiles and upbeat like he didn’t have a care about Rihanna.

He goes on talking about Michael Jackson, he said that Michael Jackson went through some negative times and went to positives, Chris claims he can do the same thing. Go back to his music career, after his tough times like Michael Jackson did.

Chris had a bit of an ego problem, he called himself a “celebrity” on the show.

Want to know my thoughts on Chris on the Larry King show? All I see it as, “save my music career please”. That’s it. That’s all he went on there for, hoping to save his dying music career.

Beaten a woman to a bloody mess is never a mistake. I’ll never respect and I’ll always despise men who hits a woman or beats her down like crazy. I hope fans of Chris Brown, those few little fans that still support his music, would get a reality check, by not buying his albums and seeing his concerts. The stupid kid doesn’t deserve a music career.

Chris is a man child suffering delusions of granduer. I laughed when he says that negativity makes you more popular. So he’s obviously striving off this publicity over this Rihanna stuff and enjoying it.

I wonder how much cash he payed the judge to avoid jail time? That’s where he should be, behind bars wearing an orange jumpsuit. I think he’ll beat up a woman soon, maybe not at Rihanna but maybe the next woman he hooks up a date with. Chris Brown needs to get his ass kicked by a bigger guy than him, show him how it feels to get punched in the face multiple times.

Brock’s Top Ten bands/artists of today…

Since I have nothing to post really, I just wanted to discuss some of the best bands and artists that I like going on today. I usually don’t like today’s music but sometimes good stuff come around.

Here are some of the good bands/artists that I personally enjoy that are going on right now:

  • Black Label Society – I own two of their albums and would like to collect more. Zakk Wylde is a wonderfully talented songwriter. He doesn’t just write heavy material, he likes to write acoustic music and slow piano ballads too. BLS is great!
  • Foo Fighters – Dave Grohl has always been great, I’m a big Foo Fighters fan and always admired them.
  • Oasis – Always been a great rock band.
  • The Eagles of Death Metal – If you want to hear kick ass rock and roll, listen to these guys. Old school rock n’ roll, great guitar playing and kick ass vocals. They put comedy in their songwriting too.
  • Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs – One of the best female fronted rock bands around now.
  • Phish – Still one of the greatest jam bands around.
  • Tinted Windows – I love the lineup of James Iha, Taylor Hansen, Bun E. Carlos and the other guy. This is actually a very good album, and I like it a lot. Great rock.
  • Lamb of God – Possibly one of the best metal bands of today. Mark Morton and Willie Adler are both amazing guitarists. I like the guitar playing a lot more than Randy Blythe’s vocals though, but this band is always great to listen to.
  • Taylor Swift – I still find her music amazing. Enjoy listening to her lots.
  • The Sword – Another one of my favorite metal bands of today. I have both of their albums, “Age of Winters” and “Gods of the Earth”. Really amazing stuff.

Other bands/artists of today that I like that are not on the list: Eminem, M.I.A., Rihanna, Kanye West and Dream Theater.

Thought: What would Oasis be like without Noel?

So you think the popularity of the band Oasis will tank with Noel being gone? In my opinion, no. I don’t think Noel leaving will hurt the band if you think about it. Liam sang the lead vocals in most Oasis songs and Liam is actually a great singer. Noel was the main songwriter of the band, he wrote most Oasis songs while Liam sang them all. Sometimes Noel will sing the lead vocals.

The best Oasis albums in their career were, “What’s the Story Morning Glory”, “Be Here Now” and “Dig Out Your Soul”. “Dig Out Your Soul” their newest record is surprisingly a really good one and I can’t stop listening to it.

Depending on if Liam gets a replacement to take over Noel’s spot and depending on the new Oasis songs, they could still be big even without Noel.

Band members changes. Look at Metallica, Rob Trujillo didn’t hurt Metallica at all by replacing Jason Newsted. It didn’t hurt Led Zeppelin’s comeback with Jason Bonham replacing his father John for that one reunion show. The members of Van Halen changes, and they are still going strong.

What I’m saying, a band can still be successful even when members changes. Liam will not break up Oasis, he’s either going to get a replacement or make it just a 4 piece band with Liam writing all the songs.

Will I still support Oasis even without Noel? Sure, why not. It all depends on how their material is without Noel. I’ve always been a big Oasis fan.

Report: Stallone’s “Expendables” pushed back to Aug. 20th of 2010…

Well, look like we’re going to have to wait even longer for the “Expendables” to come out in theater, ’cause the movie was pushed back to Aug. 20th of 2010. This was due to the success of Quentin Tarantino’s new movie, “Inglourious Basterds” being a big hit.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118008002.html?categoryid=13&cs=1&ref=bd_film

This is actually a good move. I want this to be a summer movie so it can do well in the box office. Could the “Expendables” be just as big as “Inglourious Basterds”? I think it will. I think “Expendables” will be the biggest movie of the summer of 2010. Count on it.
