Robert Downey Jr. has signed an extensive deal with Marvel to play Tony Stark as Iron Man in three different films: “The Avengers”, “Iron Man 2”, and “Iron Man 3”.

As you know, “The Avengers” are a huge mix of Marvel comic superheros into one whole group and Iron Man is part of the “The Avengers”. The first “Avengers” movie is aiming for a July 15th, 2011 date and the first “Avengers” film will only focus on the superheros of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Incredible Hulk characters first.

I wonder if Edward Norton will sign on to play in “The Avengers” as the Incredible Hulk? That be pretty cool.

Report: Ac/Dc scores no. 1 at the Billboard top 200 for “Black Ice”, this is the band’s second no. 1 album in their entire career!!!

Woah, Ac/Dc’s Wal-Mart exclusive album “Black Ice” the new album did surprisingly well in salesl!!! It sold 784,000 in it’s first week through Wal-Mart stores. That’s pretty impressive for just a small Wal-Mart chain store. With over 20 years of making music, Ac/Dc had only 2 no. 1 albums in the top 200. The other no. 1 album was “For Those About to Rock We Salute You”.

Some would like to think that Ac/Dc’s essential album “Back In Black” was a no. 1 record, it wasn’t. In fact, that album “Back In Black” didn’t sell too well. That “Back In Black” album became a best selling album later in the years of Ac/Dc not on the week the album was first released.

Congrats, boys! Welcome back! Now please, Brian and Angus, stick around a lot longer.

Report: John Paul Jones says the new Zeppelin band is not looking for a singer who sings like Robert Plant…

There are lots of singers out there who tries to sing like Robert Plant like all them Led Zeppelin tribute bands out there as a perfect example. Well, Jonesy revealed more details on the new Led Zeppelin project that the band isn’t looking for a singer who sings like Plant. They are looking for something completely different and new this time around. Jonesy says they are trying out a couple of singers but didn’t reveal who they are. Jonesy also explains that there will be a new studio record with this new band and a tour to follow after.

More on it here:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/devon/7694327.stm

The question I wonder is, I wonder if this band will continue under the Led Zepppelin name or go under a different band name? Of course, they will change the band name, they can’t be Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant, so they have to change the band name.

This project is sounding very interesting to me.

I’m itching to hear what Jimmy Page has up his sleeve for his guitar playing for this new project, I hope it’s loud and rockin’.

Think the singer could be Leona Lewis? It could be possible and wouldn’t surprise me at all if Jimmy picked her.

Report: Warner Bros. will bring live action “Ninja Scroll” to the big screen…

Warner Bros. just won the rights to make “Ninja Scroll” a Japanese anime action thriller into a live action movie. Alex Tse is confirmed to pen the script.

Since the film is being produced by Leo Dicaprio’s film company Appian Way, Leo does NOT plan on starring in the film so don’t get your hopes up in seeing him in this.

There is no cast and no director signed to this film as of this moment.

Who should play Kagero? The leading character is a Japanese female who is the hero of “Ninja Scroll”.

My vote is Ziyi Zhang, the leading star of “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”. Ziyi will fit the Kagero role perfectly.

Film Review: Body of Lies

Starring: Leonardo Dicaprio, Russell Crowe

Directed by: Ridley Scott

Synopsis: Roger Ferris (played by Leo) is a CIA operative working in Jordan to hunt down terrorists who have been bombing civilian targets. Later, Ferris uncovers some new information from Islamist mastermind Al-Saleem. There are many terrorist attacks in Manchester, England which terrorists uses a wired cell phone to blow up buildings and people’s homes.

Ed Hoffman (played by Crowe) who is Ferris’s boss has his eye on Ferris keeping an eye on every move to make sure he is safe and alive. After Ferris lands himself in a small hospital after trying to catch the terrorists roaming the streets, Ferris falls in love with a nurse named Aisha who he became friends with at first.

During the movie, Aisha, Ferris’s future girlfriend/lover is kidnapped. Ferris blames terrorist leader Al Salim for taken her which he is protected in a top secret hideout. Ferris gets taken to Al Salim to help find Aisha. Does Al Salim an evil terrorist leader have Aisha? You’ll have to watch the movie yourself to find out ’cause I don’t want to reveal any spoilers ’cause there are shocks and twists in the movie.

My thoughts on the film? As usual Ridley Scott movies never dissapoint. He’s one of my favorite directors for many reasons. Ridley has a unique vision when he’s using the camera and telling stories. I really liked the story and the script for this film “Body of Lies”. It was more of a political film, to let the world know that there are terrorists still out there in this world today in real life.

The acting of Leo Dicaprio and Russell Crowe was of course, real good. Another reason I liked about this movie was how Ridley didn’t use too many big name stars. Most of the cast were unknowns. Russell and Leo were of course the only big names in the movie.

The story was sometimes shocking, it kept you guessing, it was unpredictable. While this is not the best Ridley Scott film ever made (I still think “American Gangster” is his best film), “Body of Lies” was very enjoyable. I really liked it. But it won’t be something I would watch again so I probably won’t buy the DVD.

Score for “Body of Lies” = *** (3 stars as in good)

A day at the Wilton Mall

Just got back from a long day in Saratoga Springs on my day off of work, spent the day at the Wilton Mall and other things.

Yes, I did buy the new “Dead Space” video game for the Ps3 I was talking about and I did see a new movie in theater today as well. I ended up seeing the movie “Body of Lies” starring Leo Dicaprio and Russell Crowe, review of that film coming later tonight.

Notice my blog posts are starting to slow down, I’ve been kind of busy lately. Which is good, I need to be out doing busy things more often.
