BREAKING NEWS: Ian McKellen will play Gandalf in “The Hobbit”…

Actor Ian McKellen confirmed to the public he is reprising his legendary role as Gandalf in “The Hobbit”. McKellen is signed to play both “Hobbit” films with Guillermo del Toro being the director of the film. McKellen says this role is too hard to pass up because he loved playing the character in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Sounds like he just can’t wait to get back to it.

You can see Ian McKellen in other films such as the “X-Men” trilogy, “The Da Vinci Code”, “Apt Pupil” and more to list.

Gandalf without Ian McKellen would be wrong so I’m glad he’s back!

Thought: Robin Williams on last night’s “Law and Order: SVU”…

I watched it last night. The “Law and Order: SVU” Robin Williams special, and it was surprisingly a very good episode, one of the best Law and Order episodes I’ve seen in a long time. As I already predicted, Robin Williams pulled off an amazing performance, it sent chills. I loved how Robin’s character in the show (pictured above) first turned out to be a good guy then turned bad at the end. Robin’s acting was better than the cast on the show. As a matter of fact, this is why he is doing movies over the years because he is just too good for TV.

I’ll be on the lookout to see how the ratings did for last night’s episode.

Here is the best scene from last night’s episode where Robin really started getting powerful in his performance. This scene with Robin and Christopher Meloni sent chills down my spine. This was a very moving scene. Great acting by both men all around, congrats Robin and Christopher!

Report: Scott Weiland talks positive about Guns N’ Roses… says Slash and Axl came close to reuniting in 2004…

Scott Weiland revealed that Slash and Axl Rose almost reunited in 2004 in support of the Guns N’ Roses greatest hits album. After all this public feuding with Slash and talking trash about the guitarist which caused Weiland to get fired from Velvet Revolver, Weiland immediately got a change of heart and says Slash should reunite with Guns N’ Roses.

NME.com reports:

It’s good to see that Weiland still has respect for Slash even though Slash hates Scott.

But enjoy jail though Mr. Weiland.

Cool Video: The Official “Falling Down” video by Scarlett Johansson…

Here’s the official video for Scarlett Johansson’s single “Falling Down” from “Anywhere I Lay My Head”, an album full of Tom Waits covers.

Check it out:

http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/–59655778

Listeners have been trashing her vocals in a negative way in this song and I wanted to write in for her defense. I enjoy the vocals. It’s unique. Do every female singer have to sing perfect like Mariah Carey or Celine Dion?

Not everyone have to be a profesional vocalist. People don’t have to be the greatest singer in the world to have a passion of what you do. Vocals aren’t important in my opinion. I’m more about melody, the lyrics, and the song itself. I don’t care about the singing and that’s the truth.

I think Scarlett did a great job with “Falling Down” and I’m itching to hear more of her stuff. People just don’t understand the unique quality in her music. I would think that the people who didn’t like her singing in these songs don’t understand the music of Tom Waits.

Tom Waits vocals were never all that perfect and he sounds weird when he sings, Scarlett is supposed to have that same personality. Not everybody have to be a Mariah Carey or Celine Dion. Because truth be told none of those perfect singers can’t really sing for real anyway.

I respect what Scarlett is doing here and I look forward to her album when it comes out in May. She’s not a bad vocalist. My understanding is when people are trashing an artists singing, they are grabbing the listeners attention whether you like the artist or not.

Again, not everybody have to be good vocalist if you look at guys like Neil Young, Hendrix, Mick Jagger, Billy Corgan, etc. Singers who don’t even have a powerful vocal range, they just sing for the enjoyment ’cause they enjoy doing it.

I’m not great at singing vocals to my own songs but I do it anyway ’cause I enjoy doing it.

Report: Jimi Hendrix has a sex tape???

First Paris Hilton, then Kim Kardashian, then Pamela Anderson, then Marilyn Monroe, and now Jimi Hendrix has a sex tape? What the fuck?

Vivid Entertainment is releasing a sex tape allegedly starring the guitar god Jimi Hendrix. Vivid Entertainment claims they have a sex tape that was shot 40 years ago in a hotel room which has a man in it that looks exactly like Hendrix, it could be really him or not. The company said they consulted with experts to authenticate the footage to prove it really is him. The footage is 11 minutes long and shows Hendrix or the Hendrix wannabe in the room having sex with two women.

Author of the Hendrix biography “Room Full of Mirrors” has seen the film and doubts it’s him.

The Associated Press reports:

Who knew that rock stars could have a sex tape?

If the guy in the video really is Hendrix, it wouldn’t surprise me.

Hendrix banged a lot of women back in his days.

Back from the mall…

I just got back from the Wilton Mall in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Yes, I did pick up Grand Theft Auto IV for PS3 at Best Buy. Best Buy wasn’t mobbed at all as a matter of fact, it was easy to pick up. I just walked in and grabbed the game.

I did pick up a music CD too. I almost bought Madonna’s “Hard Candy” but I put it back and bought Kate Nash’s new CD “Made of Bricks” instead. I’ll get Madonna’s new album another time.

I did see a movie today just to make time pass by even if there was nothing playing in theater so I decided to check out “The Forbidden Kingdom”, the action flick starring Jackie Chan and Jet Li, the movie was actually pretty good and entertaining to keep it small and brief. I’m not going to bother reviewing that film.

Like I said, I’m going to complete “God Of War” first before I start GTA IV.

So far I have three games for the PS3… “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock”, “Viking: The Battle of Asgard” and “Grand Theft Auto IV”. I bought that “Viking” game a couple of weeks ago and haven’t even played it yet. So many games to play so little time.

I won’t buy any new games for a while since I have plenty that will keep me busy.

BREAKING NEWS: Mel Gibson is returning to acting!!!

Does Mel Gibson want attention or what? After several years ago of Mel Gibson publicily announced he is quitting acting to focus on directing, Mel Gibson is set to star in the leading role in a film titled “Edge of Darkness”. Mel will not direct this one but he will star the lead. “Casino Royale” director Martin Campbell is set to direct “Darkness”.

This film is an adaptation of the 6 hour miniseries that was aired on BBC TV.

Mel will play a straightlaced police investigator whose activist daughter is murdered. He continues to investigate the case hoping to put away the killers and locked up. Mel has been a fan of this TV mini series show and has been committed to playing the lead role for the US film, it appears that he still is.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/VR1117984773.html

This shall break box office records indeed. This is Mel’s first leading role in a film since “Signs” and that film was released in 2002.

Does this mean that Mel will be willing to revive “Mad Max 4” if there ever was one now that he’s back into acting? Lets hope so.

Report: It took Iman a while to fall for rock star David Bowie…

When David Bowie and the Somalian catwalk queen Iman first met, it took her a while to fall in love with rock star David Bowie. She wasn’t sure if she should get romantically involved with a famous rock star because she was never that type of woman. She was a huge fan of David’s music though, she would go to a lot of his concerts. David immediately fell in love with her the moment he layed eyes upon her.

According to research the couple married in 1992. They have a daughter together and they move back and forth to New York City to London.

More on it here:

Iman seems like a cool down to earth woman. I like how she didn’t marry him for the money and didn’t marry him because he’s David Bowie, they married each other because they truly loved each other and that’s great.

Today’s the Day for Grand Theft Auto IV!!!!

Today is the big day. A big day for videogamers out there. I’m definitely getting my copy of “Grand Theft Auto IV” this afternoon.

I don’t know if I’ll play this game right away tonight though. I still need to beat “God of War: Chains of Olympus” for the PSP and I’m at the very end of the game, just about ready to fight the final boss. So I’ll try to finish God of War tonight before I start GTA IV.

When I play videogames, I like to play one videogame at a time, I like to finish the whole thing before I go on to the next. I won’t give up until the game is done.

In the early 90’s when I was a kid, I never really collected video game consoles much because that’s when PC CD-ROM games were popular back in the old days. I used to play a lot of CD-ROM games, but now that videogames has officially taken over CD-ROM games, that’s how I got into regular videogame consoles.

I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of GTA IV today and can’t wait to get it. I’m sure Best Buy will be selling tons of copies all day today so they definitely won’t run out.
