I'm a musician, singer/songwriter, blogger, writer, poet, bodybuilder, movie lover, music lover, video gamer, history/political buff, conservative/republican, etc. I like to do a lot of things.

While America continues to go downhill, Obama vacations in Martha Vineyard as I type this…

I have been to Martha’s Vineyard before. At least a couple of times. Martha’s Vineyard happens to be a favorite vacation spot for Obama too. Martha’s Vineyard is a beautiful and peaceful little island. They have nice towns there. They have beautiful homes. It’s a peaceful and quiet pIace. I remember going to the movies there a couple of times too. I have probably went by that same golf course that Obama is golfing on many times, that area looks familiar.

America continues to go downhill and this is just further proof that Obama doesn’t care. This is his way of telling us, “Fuck you”.

Barack goes golfing at Martha’s Vineyard…

We have open borders with illegals pouring in our country and Obama still refuses to do anything about Isis. Yes, Obama may have sent some air strikes to do something about Isis but that’s not enough.

We have too many scandals that needs answers like Benghazi, Operation: F&F, Obamacare, IRS, NSA, etc. The usual list, you get the deal.

After all this, the Kennedy Center in NJ is getting re-named and will get renamed after Obama.

After all I explained above, Obama gets the Noble Peace Prize and now he’s getting the Kennedy center named after him? If you think Obama is deserving of those honors, then you are delusional.

All Obama wants to do is destroy America. If you can’t see that, then you are dumb and blind.

Starting to hate wordpress…

WordPress made some changes with their blogging site today. They created a new design when you make a “new post”. They now changed it to “Automattic, Inc.”.

It seems to be making posts fine but when you try to post links and hit, “post”, the post mysteriously disappears.

Plus, they made it longer to load.

I liked it the way it was before. Thumbs down on this one wordpress. I know it’s a new design for “new post” so they still got a lot to fix.

Hopefully this isn’t just me and everyone else with a wordpress blog is getting the same thing. Probably.

Harrison Ford shows up at Expendables premiere and looking real good too!!!

Harrison Ford just showed up at the Expendables premiere in Los Angeles. Yes, he walked the Red Carpet and walking again so he must be healing fast. Harrison is looking good and he’s looking happy too.

“Star Wars 7” will get back to filming soon after a few weeks off.

http://blog.seattlepi.com/people/2014/08/12/harrison-ford-back-on-his-feet-at-movie-premiere/#25821101=0

Glad Harrison is doing well and healing so it looks like he will be back to filming Episode 7 soon.

I’m looking forward to “Expendables 3”. That’s the next movie I’m seeing in theater. Although the movie comes out in theaters Friday, I’m seeing it this coming Tuesday ’cause movie tickets are $6.00 on Tuesdays @ Bowtie Cinemas.

Trying to Spice up my lead guitar playing…

My road to becoming an “actual” musician takes years of hard work and lots of learning but it’ll pay off. I’m still trying to learn. I know a lot of musicians dream is to become a master improviser but you can sit there and read all kinds of instructional stuff all you want to. That won’t help you become a great improviser. To become a great improviser, all it takes is having a good ear. There’s no other way around it, sadly. The trick to becoming a great improviser is memorizing the sound of each note in your head. Memorizing the pitch and the feeling of the note. How do you think all of these great virtuoso’s (like Hendrix, Duane Allman, Clapton, SRV, Satriani, etc.) came out to be??? They became great improvisers ’cause all they did was try to copy licks off of their favorite records. Most of them practiced by playing by ear most of the time.

For my lead guitar playing, I’m not gonna become all technical like Yngwie Malmsteen or Al Di Meola.

All I’m gonna is do learn all the music theory basics and learn all the basic scales.

In other words, all I need are:

– Good music theory knowledge

– Memorizing the notes on the entire guitar fretboard (important!)

– Learn the basic scales: All you need is the minor/major pentatonic scales, the minor blues pentatonic scales, and you need to learn the 7 modes.

– Learn arpeggios

– Having good phrasing (meaning sounding musical, you want your lead playing to sound like it’s singing a song)

That’s pretty much it! You don’t need to learn all the technical stuff and you don’t need to memorize like 20 scales.

I’m just trying my best to become a “real” musician so I can be taken a little more seriously.

Thanks to the Ipad… this tool is helping me with all the music apps that are on there. I have a few apps that teaches you music theory and ear training apps too. I also have a few guitar instructional e-books on the Ipad as well. Today, I just picked up, “Fretboard Theory” by Desi Serna from Ibooks. Just started it today and it’s a cool book so far.

I’m trying my best to become a more advanced musician and that has always been my goal for years.

Whenever I think I’m ready and think I’m good enough, I’ll start playing in bands and start jamming with other musicians. I can right now if I wanted to but I’m taking my slow time and trying not to get too ahead of myself.

A lot of people think they can rush into playing in bands when they are not a good enough guitar player yet. Not with me, though. I just don’t wanna rush it. It is why I don’t have too much band experience ’cause I felt I wasn’t good enough to be playing in one. So I decided to practice, learn more and take the instrument more seriously so I can hopefully rock out in a band.

I’m a good enough rhythm player. I understand timing and rhythm pretty good now. I’m trying to get better at lead guitar. In youtube videos you clearly heard me try to do a few solos… so I’m learning and trying.

A lot of musicians neglect music theory but it’s very important to learn. If you’re gonna play in a band especially on a professional level and not know any music theory, then you’re in trouble. You gotta know your shit, you know what I mean?

For years people have accused me of being a hobbyist/amateur kind of musician. When you get people calling you that, you have to step up and improve. Prove them wrong that you can play professionally and that’s what I’m doing. It’s time to show people that I can be something “musically”. I’ll show ’em.

One secret trick that bands and artists are totally missing when they perform live on stage…

I just read this article and it’s a great read!!! It explains how “relationship” with musicians on stage is a great way to put on an exciting show for the audience. “Relationship” with other musicians means is that if you’re proud of his/her talent you show it. Like for example, when your lead guitar player is playing a face melting solo, you pay attention to him/her by watching with a smile on your face with eyes open. When your lead guitarist is playing a face melting solo, another way to show that you care is that if you play guitar just walk up close to him/her and jam along with them.

Looking like you really care for the band member’s talent will get the audience and your fans to respect you even more.

I have seen tons of bands on stage with good “relationships”. When they’re playing on stage, I have seen musicians have different ways of showing they care. Like watching them play and smiling and things like that.

I have also seen certain bands that don’t show “relationships” at all. These are the guys who look like fuckin’ zombies or something. They just stand there. Staring at the floor while they play or when the lead singer is singing, he/she will sing with their eyes closed throughout their entire set. They don’t even give eye contact toward the crowd either. These are the guys who don’t move around on stage while they play and they look like they’re bored.

Some bands are great with the other members on stage and some are not.

When I pay my money to go see a band, I expect them to look like they’re having a blast with each other, not look like they’re a bunch of zombies.

So when somebody plays a mind blowing guitar solo or a sings a face melting vocal line, you gotta show that you care.

I’ve seen too many bands who make claims that they find their other members talented musicians but they don’t show that they care for their talent on stage.

This is a great article and worth a read.

Your Meme For The Day: Don’t Be Afraid to Cut Negative and Jealous People From Your Life…

10511256_10152170229137371_3922502624033029334_n

Another great meme worth passing along.

The simple point that this is making is that if you’re getting negative people treating you like crap, don’t be afraid to cut them off. Remove them from your life. If you’re getting people always hating on ya and disrespecting ya, you don’t need to deal with them.

I do this all the time and it works. People treat you like garbage, just pretend they’re dead. They’ll leave you alone once they realize you don’t care what they have to say.

You know who your true friends and supporters are when they show you love, respect, support and friendship. They don’t waste a lot of time hating on you. Trust me, I do have plenty of people who really care and stay pretty loyal to me. I’ve got family, fans, supporters and people from Greenwich who are actually pretty caring. Just because one person says you’re a bad person doesn’t necessarily mean everyone else will agree.

If people wanna have negative and hateful opinions about you, just let ’em have at it.

Just keep living life and keep being happy.

You should realize by now that fame and fortune kills people…

I’ve been saying for a long time now that fame and fortune kills people. The recent death of Robin Williams is just further proof of that. Sure, these celebs may have had all kinds of personal problems and depression issues but in my opinion, it isn’t that stuff that kills them. It’s their celebrity status and money that gets them.

Fame and fortune have been killing people for years. Fame and fortune can lead people into getting into drugs/alcohol and even suicide.

Fame and fortune killed music stars such as Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, etc.

In Hollywood fame and fortune killed Heath Ledger, Brittany Murphy, director Tony Scott, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, etc.

Fame and fortune may sound a lot of fun and exciting but at the same time that lifestyle can be very dangerous for your life. How? Simply because the work load in your career and having all that money can easily send people into a depression. Other reasons how fame and fortune can kill you is that the media spotlight. Celebs are always in the public media all the time and some of them don’t like it.

Fame and fortune may sound a lot of fun and exciting but it can ruin your life easily. Fame could overwhelm you. It’s not an easy lifestyle as it looks. A lot of celebrities and famous people hate fame. They really do. They wanna live a normal lifestyle but they can’t. They don’t get much privacy as they would like to. When they are home and not working, they can’t get out of the house much ’cause they’ll get recognized by people if they do.

Fame and fortune have been a huge problem for years. It’s killing people and it needs to stop.

What can we do to keep these people off of drugs and depression so we can save lives? We need more rehab and psychiatric help for all of them for one. It isn’t really that stuff that’s the problem though. Fame and fortune is key. It’s a dangerous world we live in. I blame it on the news media, the paparazzi, gossip sites like TMZ, etc. If we got rid of those things then we would save more lives.

The suicide of Robin Williams should be a wake up call of what fame and fortune does to people. Fame and fortune is not as fun as it looks. I don’t know why people want fame and fortune so much and don’t know why people obsess with it. I wouldn’t want to live that lifestyle at all. You don’t need fame and a lot of money to be happy and complete. You can be happy and complete just the way you are living your life right now.

It’s a shame that Robin Williams died. I’ve watched most of his movies over the years… yeah, I even watched all of his bad movies like “RV”, “Hook” “Mrs. Doubtfire” and “Flubber”. Not all of his movies were good, he had starred in some pretty bad ones. I’m probably one of the few who hated, “Mrs. Doubtfire”.

Sometime later today, I’m gonna name my Top 10 Favorite Robin Williams movies.

RIP: Robin Williams 1951 – 2014

It’s a sad day in the world of entertainment. Robin Williams just passed away due to an apparent suicide. We may never know why he did it and why he was having depression issues. I don’t wanna get into the negative stuff. I don’t wanna speculate so lets celebrate Robin’s career in a positive way.

Like most, I grew up watching his movies and followed his career ever since I was a child. He got his start in the TV sitcom “Mork and Mindy” in which he was most famous for and then he got his first film role in “Popeye” which is one of my favorite films of his.

Robin Williams was more than just an actor. He was multi-talented. He’s not just a comedy actor either. He could play anything that throws at him in the movie business. He didn’t just play comedy roles. He did pretty much every genre in the movie business. Whatever he did, he played well. Other than comedy films, he has done some serious dramas like, “Dead Poets Society”, “Awakenings”, and maybe a few others. He has also done a few violent and dark thrillers like “One Hour Photo” and Christopher Nolan’s “Insomnia” in which he played the bad guy. He could do it all. He could play funny and hilarious characters to lovable family-friendly characters to dark and evil characters. When he did play in comedy movies, he didn’t just do movies for kids either… he did R-rated Comedy for adults with films such as “The Birdcage”, “Cadillac Man” and “The Fisher King” which all of those are great movies.

He did other well known films such as “Hook”, “Jack”, “Jumanji”, “Flubber”, “Toys”, “Death To Smoochy” and the list goes on.

He was also a stand up comedian who would do stand-up comedy shows from time to time.

Robin Williams was a genius and a great talent. A very sad loss in Hollywood. Like most, he was an inspiration and a hero to me. I looked after him myself.

Look like “Mrs. Doubtfire 2” isn’t gonna happen ’cause remember, they greenlighted that movie earlier this year and Robin was game to returning to that role too. So sad. Wonder what’s gonna happen to “Doubtfire 2” now??? They’re probably not gonna go forward with the film now, I would think. They should probably trash the film.

Today a sad day. RIP Robin. 😦

GOOOOODDDD MORRRRNNNINGGGG VIEETTTNAAAAAAMMMMMMMmmmmm… just had to do it!!!

Wanna hear some sweet playing by Al Di Meola??? Check this out…

I know Al Di Meola has been a part of the music business since the 70’s and I know I’m real late getting into this guy. He is becoming one of my favorite guitarists. I think I’m gonna keep collecting his studio albums ’cause his music is so much fun to listen to.

I wanna listen to jazz guitar more and Al Di Meola is great to start off with. I wanna spice up my own guitar playing by listening to more jazz and I think listening to a lot of Al Di Meola would help. This guy is a jazz guitar master for sure.

This guy has been around for years so he has a pretty long discography of studio albums. I only have 4 albums of his for now and will collect more of his music as I can.

I’ve honestly been interested in Al Di Meola for a long while, I just haven’t started buying his studio albums until now. You wanna hear some face melting guitar playing, ya gotta listen to this guy.
