The Foo Fighters to release “Sonic Highways” Nov. 10th!!!

Home

I’ve been a huge Foo Fighters fan for years. Been listening to the band ever since their first album came out in 1995. Originally, the Foo Fighters weren’t supposed to be a band. The Foo Fighters was originally gonna be an anonymous name for Dave Grohl. He wrote several songs for a demo so he can pass around to friends and supporters but record labels ended up getting hold of the first album and they asked Grohl to sign with them which he obviously did. Due to the success of the first album is what made Grohl turn the Foo Fighters into an official band. They kept getting even more successful ever since.

I’ve listened to every album and loved them all. I’m sure this one will be a great one too. Grohl never disappoints. I’m definitely getting this album and looking forward to hearing it!

Bob Weir and Ratdog cancels all remaining concert dates including the Peach Festival…

With no reasons given, the jam band Bob Weir and Ratdog just all of a sudden cancelled all of their remaining concert dates which includes the Peach Festival (the festival owned by the Allman Brothers). A lot of people are already speculating health problems for Bob Weir who is also the former frontman/guitarist of the Grateful Dead.

http://www.ratdoglive.com/

Do you notice that musicians from jam bands having health problems as of late? That’s what past drug use and alcoholism will do to you. These musicians may not be on drugs & alcohol anymore but past addiction will have an affect on your health later in years.

Look at what happened to Ozzy Osbourne, the guy can hardly walk or talk because of it.

Jam bands and their drugs & alcohol. *sigh*

I know that stuff has been a huge problem in the jam band world ’cause of the hippie thing but I think it’s time that something needs to be done about drugs & alcohol. You don’t need to be drunk, high or stoned to enjoy the music. When will people ever learn that?

I was never a fan of Weir’s band, Ratdog but I did respected him when he was in the Grateful Dead, though.

Happy birthday Hulk Hogan!!!

Hulk Hogan’s life may have been pretty crazy and controversial over the years like all of his scandals with Linda Hogan, Nick’s car crash, his reality show, the Bubba the Love Sponge sex tape and all that stuff but no matter what you think of Hulk… the man is a wrestling icon and legend. That will never change no matter what happens.

I do respect his legacy in the wrestling business, though. I liked Hulk Hogan more back in the 80’s and I also loved him as Hollywood Hogan in the nWo days. He also made a few good movies like “Rocky III”, “No Holds Barred” and maybe a few others.

He may not be everyone’s favorite but he was a big part of how sports entertainment is the way it is today. He was the one who helped made the WWF/WWE happen. Without Hogan we wouldn’t have gotten WCW, ECW, TNA, etc.

I haven’t been watching WWE RAW in a long time. Been staying away from the show ’cause I don’t like the way it’s going to but I’m going to watch tonight’s RAW for Hogan’s birthday appearance. Rumor going around that nWo might get reunited tonight and Sting might show up too. I’ll have to watch and see. I’m probably gonna start watching RAW again every Monday ’cause you never know when Sting is gonna show up.

Happy birthday, Hulk! Enjoy it, brother!

Did Hillary and Obama breakup??? What’s going on here???

Before the Benghazi attack, Hillary and Obama have been supportive and friendly with each other. Now she seems to be criticizing him a lot for some reason.

http://www.thehindu.com/news/international/world/hillary-clinton-faults-obamas-foreign-policy/article6302921.ece

This is very strange. Somehow I believe that Hillary and Obama are up to something again. What are they up to this time? I think she’s trying to influence her supporters to turn their backs on Obama to try and win more votes for her upcoming 2016 election. Just more president hype is all she’s doing.

On top of that, she shouldn’t be talking about Obama’s problems on foreign policy when she haven’t came clean with Benghazi yet so this makes her a hypocrite.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s mother and cousin involved in car accident but they’re okay…

Former WWE Star and currently movie star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson just revealed on his facebook page that his mother and cousin was involved in a head-on car accident. The guy in the other car was drunk. Dwayne’s mother and cousin both survived though. Not sure if they got any injuries or not but I’m glad they’re okay.

Getting into a car accident is pretty scary. I know from experience ’cause I was in one in the past. I wasn’t the driver, of course, I was passenger. Sitting in the front seat. I spent a night in the hospital. Had cuts all over my face. We didn’t crash into another car though. Crashed into a couple of drunk horseback riders. Couple of drunk idiots riding horses in the middle of the road late at night. Good thing I had my seat belt on that night or I could have gone through the windshield and things could have been worse. Can’t remember what year this was. I think sometime in early 2000 or something like that.

Sounds like Dwayne’s Mom and cousin were wearing seat belts too if they survived. If they didn’t wear seat belts, things could have been worse… maybe even death.

Dwayne better not find out who the drunk driver is ’cause he will for sure layeth the smackdown on his candyass if he ever finds out. Glad Dwayne’s Mom and Cousin survived. I also hope the drunk driver gets harsh punishment.

George Miller finally explains why Mel Gibson wasn’t casted for “Mad Max: Fury Road”…

Before Mad Max 4 began production, fans of the Mad Max series begged George Miller to bring Mel Gibson back as the role of Max Rockatansky. This is what the fans wanted for a long time was for Mel to reprise this legendary role but now fans have to go through a disappointment now that they learned that Mel was replaced by Tom Hardy. George Miller who directed all of the Mad Max movies finally explains why. It wasn’t because of his 2006 arrest and anti-Semetic scandals. It’s just that George simply felt that Mel is too old.

More here:

http://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/film/10370209/Why-Mad-Max-director-didn-t-cast-Gibson

Mel is too old, my ass!!! Come on George! Mel is STILL doing violent action movies and he seems to be doing fine doing all of his own stunts. I’m sure there is still a way to write Mel in Mad Max 4 somehow so it can make a little more sense to have an aging Max fighting off the bad guys.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to see “Mad Max: Fury Road” ’cause I can’t see a Mad Max movie without Mel ’cause I’m a huge fan of the original trilogy. Of course, “The Road Warrior” will always be the best Mad Max film. I think I’ll pass on the “Mad Max: Fury Road” ’cause they simply neglected Gibson.

Don’t get me wrong, “Fury Road” looks alright but I don’t really like Tom Hardy all that much.

I think Mel would have done fine if he still played the character. I just totally disagree with George on that one.

More on my local music scene criticism…

Some people may find my criticism toward Albany’s music scene a little offensive or negative ’cause why? In my belief, I think it’s because I’m one of the very few around here being realistic and honest about local music. There are plenty of local music websites and local music blogs out there writing about the music scene and writing reviews but many of them are afraid to be brutally realistic about things. Most local promoters, bloggers and critics like to treat the scene all positive and “happy, happy, joy joy”. Nobody wants to be realistic on anything. Most people like to treat this scene positively but it don’t hurt to be brutal about it either.

Everybody wants to see this scene as positive and “happy, happy, joy, joy”. Well, sorry to say but it isn’t. Far from being positive. I’ve been saying for years that we’ve been living in one of the most negative music scenes in the United States and I still by stand it today. You can’t trust everything and everyone around here. Everybody wants to be critical and opinionated about you if they decide to dislike you. If we had more people being honest and real around here, then we could live in a better music scene.

If you find what I said about the local music scene in the past offensive or negative, wait ’til you see what I have to say next in the future. I got some great ideas coming up. It’ll get even better for ya’!

Some people make ridiculous claims that my local music criticism will hurt my own music. Well, quite honestly, I think people say that ridiculous shit just to try and shut me up. That’s it. I don’t think my honesty will hurt my music at all but in fact, I think it’ll only help make it better. Even if it’s true that my local music criticism might affect my music, I don’t give a shit. I do music for me anyways.

There’s a lot of musicians around here with horrible attitudes and they have large egos that’s out of this world. Many of them think they’re professional but a lot of them are not. There are too many scum bags around here and you shouldn’t have to be afraid to call them all out so other people can be aware.

Don’t be afraid to be realistic. Don’t be afraid to tell the truth even if it hurts others. I’ve never have been afraid. Yes, the truth may upset others and others will try to retaliate by trying to call me out, rant, vent, etc. Whatever. Nothing is stopping me.

I’ll talk about local music and bands any way I want to. I think it’s actually a good thing to do is to be brutally realistic about things. I enjoy it. No regrets at all.

Say Aloha to Gov. Neil Abercrombie!!!!

This is awesome news! The state of Hawaii did a great thing voting this asshole and traitor out. Gov. Abercrombie was a big Obama and Obamacare supporter. He was also one of those slimy and corrupt idiots covering for Obama’s birthplace. Make no mistake about it. Obama had a whole team covering his birthplace info. Good riddance to this loser!!!

Now that he’s no longer Governor of Hawaii, hopefully the truth of Obama’s birthplace will come out soon!

Your Meme For The Day: Stop trying to be better than everyone…

10417643_751016908288790_1843321504450767194_n

This is so true and this is so me. One thing I never did was go around acting like I’m better than others. I don’t go around acting like I’m smarter than everyone else. I don’t go around acting like I’m a better musician than everyone else. It’s just dumb and a waste of time.

Sure, some people might be successful in life like for example… having a significant other and kids, your own home, a day job, and successes with your talents (like music, art, writing, etc.) but all that stuff doesn’t make you better than everyone else. You should focus on trying to become the better person instead of trying to compete with everyone.

My life isn’t perfect and yours isn’t either. Nobody’s perfect. Perfection is overrated.

Some people wanna see me as the loser type of person but I assure you, I’m not a loser. I got a lot going on, I don’t care what y’all think of me. My life is a good one. I’m all about focusing on being the better person I was in the past and moving forward to better and bigger things. Anybody who calls me a loser and thinks I have no life; chances are, they are losers themselves.

I’m living life. Enjoying it. Being positive and happy.

“Weird Al” getting a lot of negativity and criticism for Superbowl Halftime performance…

While “Weird Al” is getting a lot of fans petitioning for him to perform at the next Superbowl Halftime show on Feb. 2nd — at the same time, he is predictably getting a lot of negative criticism. Most fans want him to perform the next Superbowl but sure enough, there’s gonna be some that don’t want him there. I’m sure you’ve seen some criticism about it in facebook and I did too. Some people threatened that if they get him they won’t be watching the Halftime show.

Look, I know Weird Al’s music isn’t for everybody. He’s another one of those love or hate artists. In my opinion, I believe some can’t appreciate Weird Al because they find it a bit weird and creepy to see a full grown adult doing parodies of other people’s music. That’s the whole point. Al Yankovic is supposed to be weird and creepy. That’s part of what makes him a comic genius. Some even mistakenly believe that Weird Al is for kids. Not true. Most of Weird Al’s fans are MOSTLY full grown adults from 30 – 50’s. The demographics of Al’s fans varies. Yeah, he has children who love his music but grown ups like him too.

Why is Al Yankovic so huge and popular? I think it’s because Al is the only comedic musician. People look after him ’cause simply put, everybody is looking for a good laugh. That’s why he does what he does. He’s an entertainer and he enjoys making people laugh. Love him or hate him, Al is very successful and he’s a legend. All of his music videos in youtube gets more than a million views. All of his videos go viral. He finally got his no. 1 album, “Mandatory Fun”. He had a 30 year long career. So he deserves this opportunity.

I have been a Weird Al fan since the 80’s. Listened to him since I was a child.

Even if people claim they don’t like Weird Al, they won’t admit that they’ll probably watch anyway just out of curiosity if he gets the Superbowl gig. Watch for it. I know the haters will watch anyway. Then they might find that he’s actually enjoyable.

Here’s that petition that the media is talking about.

http://www.change.org/petitions/the-national-football-league-nerds-everywhere-weird-al-yankovic-performs-the-super-bowl-xlvii-half-time-show

I hope the NFL does the right thing and gets him for the gig.

Not only that Al Yankovic deserves the Superbowl halftime performance, he also deserves to get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame too!
