BREAKING NEWS: The wife of Robert Kennedy Jr., commits suicide…

Well, look like the Kennedy family have to go through another tragic death in the family. Robert Kennedy Jr’s wife, Mary, committed suicide. She has been having drug and alcohol addiction problems for a long time now.

More on the story, here.

Can the Kennedy’s continue to go through so much pain? This is sad that the family continues to have problems even to this day. It just proves that life can be hard on anybody doesn’t matter how famous you are.

Report: Nick Stahl, who starred in “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines”, missing in Los Angeles…

Nick Stahl, an actor who played John Connor in “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” (pictured above) has been reportedly missing in Los Angeles, his wife says. She last saw him on May 9th. It was said that Stahl has been frequenting the Skid Row areas in Los Angeles and he may have gotten involved in bad situations. She fears that drugs may have something to do with it.

More on the story, here.

If you don’t know what Skid Row is, it’s an area in Los Angeles where a lot of homeless people live. He could have been walking around Skid Row, ended up partying with some homeless people and something bad must of happened to him, and the homeless didn’t care to help him. Either that or nothing wrong with him at all and he could be staying with them. Lets just hope he’s okay and safe.

I remember seeing him in, “Terminator 3”. That film got mixed reviews, but I loved the film.

EDIT TO ADD: Remember, Nick being missing is according to his wife! Doesn’t mean it’s true. She could be full of shit and out for attention. So I wouldn’t fully trust her source.

Report: Aaron Sorkin will write and direct “Steve Jobs” biopic movie…

Aaron Sorkin, the writer of such movies as, “The Social Network”, and “Moneyball” is hired to write and direct, the biopic for Apple founder, Steve Jobs, for SONY. While Aaron wrote many films over the years, this makes his directorial debut. He never directed his own film before. Even though Aaron Sorkin himself, is no fan of the internet, he still seems to write about this technology stuff for whatever weird reason.

It’s going to be interesting to see who they’re going to get to play, Steve Jobs for the movie. What big name actor do you think resembles Steve? I think Billy Bob Thornton might be a good choice. Kevin Costner maybe? Daniel Day-Lewis? Brad Pitt? Clooney?

They would need a younger actor to play the young, Steve Jobs, too.

I haven’t read the Steve Jobs biography book yet, and that’s probably what the movie is going to be adapted from, wouldn’t surprise me.

In between songs…how long is too long???

With my previous topic on “Speaking in between songs”, this topic is about, how much time should you spend in between songs? Often, I’ll see a lot of bands and acoustic solo artists waste so much time in between songs. Taking so long to play the next tune. What do they do in between songs that’s taking them so long to play the next one? Either chatting it up with their band mates, wasting a lot of time tuning the instrument, some would even go have a smoke break outside or have a quick drink, telling a long story to the crowd through the mic, etc. Crazy things like that.

Spending  way too much time in between a song. The most appropriate time you should take a break in between a song is about 10-20 seconds or little more. I understand that gigs can sometimes be tough, you need your singing voice a little rest and your hands a little rest in between songs, but don’t take too long.

If you have a song that is in a different alternate tuning, this is why you should have more than one guitar at a gig. Tune the other guitar that the song needed to be in a certain tuning, that way you can quickly switch guitars without wasting so much time tuning. Bands would spend too much time tuning between a song, it’s crazy. The fact is, that spending way too much time in between a song, is pretty unprofessional. It’ll bore the audience, it could put them to sleep and some could walk away from your set. If you need a smoke break or a quick beer, wait until after the gig and not during.

In my gigs, I try not to spend so much time in between songs if you’ve seen me. Most of my original songs are in standard tuning anyway. Sometimes, I’ll use the drop D in a few of my songs, but I don’t mess with alternate tunings that much. In between a song, I’ll talk for a little bit and then I’m off playing the next song right away. You don’t ever want to keep the audience waiting for the next song. They are there to hear music, not silence.

Report: Bill Ward, drummer of Black Sabbath, releases statement that he’s not playing the upcoming three shows…doesn’t mean he’s done with Sabbath for good though…

Bill Ward, the drummer for Black Sabbath, released a long statement on his website, announcing the official news that he will not be playing the upcoming three Black Sabbath shows, with the original members. Sabbath is scheduled to play three upcoming shows: Their hometown Birmingham show, Download, and of course, Lollapalooza. He is still upset about not receiving an official sign-able contract. Plus, he is upset that he was asked to only play on three songs at the Birmingham gig, when he would rather perform on the entire gig. Lots of other reasons, why he wants no part of these shows.

Read Bill’s blog on it, here.

I’m sure Bill’s fans are hating on him for this, and I’m sure Sharon’s getting the blame. I was gonna bash him for it too, but after reading this intelligent blog, I understand him. It’s a pretty well written blog, explaining his reasons behind things.

I agree there’s no Black Sabbath reunion without Bill Ward, but come on people. I’ve said it plenty of times that Sabbath went through too many different drummers over the years. I’m sure they’re used to replacing somebody and they’ll find somebody quickly. No matter who replaces, Bill Ward, Black Sabbath is going to put on a fucking amazing performance. They’ll put on a tight show, no matter who the drummer is. I’m sure they’ll kill it with no problem and leave the crowd wanting some more.

On top of all this, Black Sabbath deserves some positive vibes after what Tony is going through with his cancer and all. These three, Sabbath shows could be their last ever. When Tony dies, Sabbath is done. In my eyes, there is no Black Sabbath without Tony Iommi. He can replace other members if he wants to but Tony can’t be replaced. Tony even had other bass players other than Geezer Butler over the years too. Tony can’t be replaced ’cause HE IS Black Sabbath. Bill, Ozzy, and Geezer maybe SABBATH too, but everything is all Tony. He is the star and the main guy of the band. Without his distinct guitar sound and his excellent riffs, that’s not Black Sabbath. As long as Tony is in the band, it’s still Black Sabbath, no matter who is in it.

I’m sure the other guys in the band, are not heartbroken about Bill’s departure, they had problems with the guy for years, so this is nothing NEW!

Cool Video: Lisa Marie Presley’s new album, “Storm and Grace” hits stores today, and I think she’s trying to sound like her father on it…

Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley, releases her third solo album today. Listening to the clips of each track, it sounds that she’s trying to sound like her father. The style of the music is similar to Elvis and she’s trying too hard to sing like him too. Of course, she’s going to get a music career because of her father, but her music career will NEVER be as big as he was. She’ll never top the King. I don’t think I’ll get her album.

Film Review: Dark Shadows

Starring: Johnny Depp, Chloe Moretz, Eva Green, Jackie Earl Haley, Johnny Lee Miller, Helena Bonham Carter
Directed by: Tim Burton

Yesterday afternoon, I was going to go to the mall to see, “The Avengers”, but I didn’t, because it was playing a little too late. It wasn’t playing at the time that I wanted to see it at, so I ended up seeing, “Dark Shadows”, instead. I will still see, “The Avengers” ’cause I’ve been dying to see that flick for a long time now. Here is my review for Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows”…

Plot/synopsis: In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet-or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better…

I was skeptical of this movie, but I went and saw it anyway ’cause I am a huge fan of the original TV show with, Jonathan Frid. Like most Tim Burton movies, this was a so & so movie. As in okay. There were some good and bad things about the movie.

The good: the casting, costume design, makeup, movie settings (the Collins house was cool), film locations, cinematography, Danny Elfman’s score, etc. The bad: Script, it turned out to be a popcorn/action adventure instead of a horror soap opera like the TV show, the film played too much of today’s current music, it had bits of comedy in it which the TV show didn’t have.

It was just a typical Tim Burton movie like all the others. His style of film making hasn’t changed. I’m not a big Tim Burton fan anymore like I used to be. The last Tim Burton directed movie, I liked a lot was, “Mars Attacks”, he hasn’t made a good movie since after that. I’ll just keep this review short ’cause there is not much to say about it.

Score for “Dark Shadows” = ** (2 stars as in “Okay”)

Report: Scott Weiland officially reunites with the Velvet Revolver as frontman…

Ever since Scott Weiland was booted from the Velvet Revolver, the band was trying to replace a new singer. The band never announced a new singer ever since Weiland left, but it appears that the band has officially buried the hatchet with him. The band plans on going on tour and then get to work on their 3rd album, with Weiland as frontman.

More on the story, here.

Good news, but who knows how long this will last? Tempers could flare again and Weiland’s next run with the band could be very short, never know. It’ll be interesting to see how long Weiland stays with them, next time around. I like the Velvet Revolver sure. Never owned their first two albums, but I’ve heard their stuff on the radio lots of times.

This is STILL the most popular blog post on my site, still gets lots of views…

My post, “My flip flop on Scooby’s Workshop“, is still getting a hundred views to this day. It did create controversy and it did anger a lot of Scooby fans, but I don’t care. My feelings on “Scooby’s Workshop” still remains the same. It still angers his fans as I sometimes see people complain about the post and they try to defend the guy in his forum. Of course, they’ll slam me for it, accusing me of being jealous, then they’ll start posting my shirtless pics, just to show that I’m no where near Scooby’s physique. I made that post two years ago and sometimes, people still respond to it.

While I admit, that I maybe wrong on a few things here and there in that post, my opinions still hasn’t changed on this guy. He claims he’s trying to teach bodybuilding in a positive note, yet he continues to attack other online fitness trainers and he’ll claim he’s just telling the truth. People can attack me all they want to on that post. I have the right to be real on this stuff myself as long as he’s posting this stuff publicly for the world to see and respond to.

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate online fitness trainers. There’s a few of them that I look after and follow on a regular basis like Lui Marco and the Hodge Twins. I respect those two. I’m not a fan of Scooby too much. I just don’t trust Scooby’s source, that’s all. Although, I’ll admit, he does come out with a decent video every once in a while.

When people slam my physique and attack me, that other guys have a better physique than me, that’s means I’m successful at bodybuilding. Think about it. My shirtless posing pics gets passed around everywhere on the net. Even though they do it to make fun of my physique, they just don’t want to admit that I am successfully ripped. Not trying to sound like an egomaniac.

Nice article about Arnold in bodybuilding…

Love Arnold or hate him, he was one of the only bodybuilders who helped make the sport mainstream and popular. Before him, it was Jack Lalanne who made fitness popular, but it was Arnold who took it to the next level. Even more people got into it because they all wanted to be like Arnold.

Read this great article, on how we can learn from Arnold, here.

I know many would accuse Arnold of using steroids, but he already admitted to it. He took steroids back in his younger years when they used to be legal in his home country of Austria, where he grew up. Of course, Arnold is one of my inspirations of getting into bodybuilding

I don’t know if I’ll ever look like he did back in the old days. I’m not doing this to compete. I just want to be in decent shape and have some muscle on me. That article is good advice to get bigger gains. Visualization, the pump, and lifting heavier.

Thanks to one of my facebook followers who pointed me out this article. I don’t do bodybuilding to impress other people or to be a show off. I just want to be healthy, be stronger and tougher. I want to look better being half naked out in public. I also want to protect myself for self defense. All sorts of reasons why I got into bodybuilding. Arnold and Sly are my two biggest inspirations for me wanting to get into it. I do hope to look like those guys someday. I’ll just keep it up and see how it goes.
