I'm a musician, singer/songwriter, blogger, writer, poet, bodybuilder, movie lover, music lover, video gamer, history/political buff, conservative/republican, etc. I like to do a lot of things.

For the record…I don’t want to be a romantic songwriter…

I covered, “I Will Always Love You” just for Whitney, as a tribute to her. It’s not like I’m going to turn into a romantic musician all of a sudden. Leave that stuff to Barry Manilow or Rod Stewart. Maybe I’ll try to write a few love songs, but I won’t be all over them. I’m not going to be obsessed with this genre.

As for what kind of positive and family friendly songs, I plan on writing in the future, I’ll stick with the topical and political stuff. I’ll try to write songs that are more poetic as well. Serious stuff. Maybe I’ll write some autobiographical songs about myself as well. Things like that.

Just wanted to make something clear.

Bowie’s “Rebel, Rebel” will be the next cover song coming soon…

For the past couple of days, I’ve been learning the song “Rebel, Rebel” by Bowie. One of my very favorite songs of his. I’ve learned the guitar parts and trying to get the vocals down. It’s a challenging song to sing but it’s coming along well so far. I think I got the verses and the chorus’s down, but the part I’m working on, is the final part of the song toward the end where Bowie goes crazy. With practice, I’ll get it.

I’ll be doing a bunch of Bowie covers ’cause he is one of my favorite artists as some of you know. I’ll do ’em in separate videos, they won’t be medley mixes.

Another great blog post by Loren Weisman!!!

Loren Weisman said:

Dont worry over the awards! So many people are concerned with winning this award or that award. They set it as the end all be all goal and then begin to lose site of the original goal, lose common sense and lose smart business sense. Often times, this is followed by making decisions that will hurt their career, chances at long term success as well as losing percentages and ownership they will never get back. Work to understand the dream you want and how to execute it. Dont get lost in the delusions. A Grammy doesn’t mean that much anymore. I think it is a greater award where an artist has a sustaining amount of sales, sustaining amount of touring and sustaining amount of income while keeping majority control of their art and their career.

See her blog post, here.

Well, I’m glad I’m not alone on this.

Bands obsess with wanting to win awards like Battle of the Bands stuff and other stupid songwriting contests or radio station contests. I mean, who cares about all that, right? Like I said in a different blog post, that stuff will MEAN NOTHING TO ME!

It’s  more rewarding when people are supporting your music: listening to it, buying it and going to your shows. That’s all they should care about. The love of music.

My Whitney Houston cover, getting a lot of positive feedback…

The good feedback just keeps coming. Makes me want to get my music going again and get back  out there performing live. I’m planning on it. If I keep choosing the right songs for me to cover and write good originals that people can enjoy, then maybe I can actually go somewhere with my music. As you can see I’m getting back into cover songs again. I’ll still write originals too as I am writing new ones.

This is why I feel the need to change my songwriting style into a positive and more family friendly direction, so everyone can LIKE my music. No more dark & angry songs, no more long songs.

In the new cover songs videos I’ve been uploading in youtube, I’ll admit, that I am reading lyrics off a computer screen, but as long as you’re not performing in front of an actual audience, you can get away with not memorizing them when you’re at home.

It feels good that people ACTUALLY enjoy something I do for once.

One more thing, yes, I do plan on playing Whitney’s, “I Will Always….”, next time I get a gig or play an open mic.

A lot more cover songs will be coming for my youtube page!

I’ll be doing a bunch of classic rock songs, some stuff from the 80’s – 90’s and maybe some today’s current songs too. The reason I’m doing this, that I’m testing out my singing. I’ve been practicing my vocals & singing with Metal Method’s “Vocal Power” instructional DVD a lot lately, and you can tell my singing is slightly improving.

Plus, performing cover songs is just fun. Perform my favorite songs of all time. Today, I’ve been working on David Bowie’s, “Rebel, Rebel”, and I’ll upload it when I’m ready.

“The Twin Muscle” youtube channel by the Hodge Twins, became pretty addicting…

The Hodge Twins have become big youtube sensations with their bodybuilding instructional stuff, so some of you probably heard of them. There are other popular youtube trainers like Scooby, luimarco, Scott Herman, etc., but I think the Hodge Twins do a better job than anybody else. Their fitness information can be pretty factual and true. They don’t just make stuff up like a lot of others do.  It looks like these guys do their homework before posting things.

Not only that they are good at what they do, they keep their videos funny and entertaining. They can be like, “Hey man, you wanna build some muscle man, you can build some fuckin’ muscle”. LOL, you’ll get the idea when you start watching their videos.

You can either love ’em or hate ’em,  they’re an inspiration and what they’re doing is good. I subscribed to their youtube channel, so I can follow it on a daily basis. I agree with a lot of their information. It’s good stuff. Most fitness youtube channels are crap, but the Twin Muscle channel is one of the best ones. Keep up the good work, dudes!

Check out their Channel, here.

Report: The gorgeous MMA fighter, Gina Carano, gets another action movie role!!!

After the big success, of Steven Soderbergh’s action flick, “Haywire”, which starred Strikeforce fighter, Gina Carano, she gets another big action movie role. She will next star in a film called, “In the Blood”, which will be directed by, John Stockwell. This film is supposed to be similar to the Liam Neeson film, “Taken”. The plot will be about her character vacationing in the Caribbean with her husband, then he is kidnapped and murdered. She is out to pursue those who is responsible. Definitely sounds like another revenge movie to me!

I really liked “Haywire”, so hopefully this movie will be much better. I hope they make her even sexier in this movie and hope we get a nude scene. Is Gina giving up cage fighting in MMA and doing movies full time now? She is a pretty hot lady, I know that!

Dave Mustaine, the Megadeth frontman, just had an interview with MusicRadar website, and he just gave his opinion on today’s Election going on right now. He gave his thoughts on each Republican candidate running for President. It seems that Mustaine likes Rick Santorum more than the other three, and that’s who Mustaine hopes to be in the White House.

Very cool! It’s great to see Mustaine is on Team Santorum 2012!
