In defense of M.I.A., flipping the bird at the Superbowl Halftime show…

For the past couple of days since Superbowl Sunday, the internet has been outraged by M.I.A. flipping the bird at the camera during her performance at Halftime with Madonna. Why is everyone mad? Basically, because she’s on a huge sporting event and it’s on public national TV, NBC, a family friendly station.

A lot of people today, don’t know who M.I.A. is, because she released records independently with her own label. She’s not a major label artist, she was never mainstream until Madonna had her as a special guest duet. The internet is acting like what M.I.A. did is wrong and what she did is evil. She might even get fined for it and all that stuff.

What people fail to understand about M.I.A., is that her performances has always been crazy and intense. She loves to move around on stage and makes movements with her hands a lot. That’s the way she always performed. Watch some of her live performances in youtube if you see what I mean.

I believe what she did at the Superbowl was an accident. She didn’t mean what she did and wasn’t realizing what she was doing. She was just having too much fun and it came out of nowhere. I’m sure she has done this at her concerts from her tours many times, flipping the bird at the audience. Performers do this stuff all the time on stage. Flipping the bird to the audience is most popular with the metal genre, but rappers do it too. That’s what M.I.A. is, a rapper.

If a male rapper was performing the Superbowl and if he flipped the bird to the camera, then the people wouldn’t care. They would think it’s alright, people are mad at M.I.A. for it because she’s a woman.

On top of all this, M.I.A. is one of my favorite artists. I absolutely love her music. Her music is phenomenal, and I adore her. I’m always watching her live performances in youtube and buying her albums. I love the messages she sends with her songs. She’s very political, she’s an activist, and most of her songs are protest songs. I love her two singles, “Paper Planes” and “Born Free”. She’s just a great artist.

What she did on the Superbowl maybe bad, but whatever it takes for her to get more recognition in her music, more power to her. She just became a mainstream artist because of that. Madonna helped her get more recognition.

I didn’t find what she did a big deal ’cause a lot of musicians can be crazy like that sometimes. That’s how most of them are. A lot of people think what she did, she’s saying, “fuck you” to everyone, no not all. Artists flip the bird ’cause they do it in a good way, it entertains the fans. Ever been to a rap concert or a metal concert where the star flips the bird and the fans go crazy? It happens.

M.I.A. shouldn’t get fined for it ’cause she didn’t do anything wrong, in my opinion. She doesn’t owe Madonna an apology ’cause over the years, I’m sure she’s dealt with crazy stuff like that in the past. I’m sure she wouldn’t care.

Cool Video: Are shocking before and after photos on the internet real? Not all of them…

You see all kinds of shocking before & after photos in the muscle magazines and on the internet, but are all of them real? Not all of them. This guy in this video exposes the truth on how fake some of those photos can be.

I could do the same with my before & after photos easily. If I wanted to, I can make myself look like a sexy muscular hunk that women drool over with a good photographer, good lighting and photo shop work.

Of course, I’m not going to do that though. I never faked my before & after photos. All progress photos I posted online are 100% real.

Enjoy this great video. I hate most fitness videos in youtube but this one of the best ones I’ve seen. Very informative and so true.

How about that Eli Manning, hey???

The Superbowl last night was great. I just got a little more respect for Eli, saving the day, when the Giants came close to losing.

Now to hit the gym this afternoon and burn off all the Superbowl cheat meals. Yep, I ate quite a bit. I had cheese, pepperoni & crackers for snacking, a few slices of pizza, and then a hot fudge sundae after. There was a little Superbowl party with family members.

Hope you all enjoyed yourself last night too.

Brock defends Madonna’s – Superbowl Halftime performance…

During the Halftime Superbowl which had the legendary Queen of Pop, Madonna, performing with Cirque Du Soleil, feedback of the performance started filling up my news feed in facebook. Mostly negative feedback. People saying hateful things about Madonna.

No matter what you think of the Madonna performance, she didn’t get hired for the Superbowl for nothing. She had quite the legendary career. In order for a band or an artist to get the opportunity to perform the Superbowl, they must have a legendary career. That’s what Madonna has. A legendary career, so she is qualified enough to get the Superbowl gig. I think she deserves it.

I think Cirque Du Soleil was interesting. Madonna has always been well known to perform on stage with a bunch of dancers, she’s been doing that stuff for years. Even if Madonna’s performance was lip syncing for sure, of course, (pretty much all Superbowl live performances from the past were lip synced, anyway), you still have to hand it to her.

She did really good dancing up there. I was pretty impressed with her dancing skills. She still has it with the dancing. Not bad for a 53 year old woman, right? She was doing some pretty physical and technical dance moves up there. She also looked really good up there too. She did look a little nervous, but she pulled it off.

I thought she did a good job. She didn’t do anything sexual and she didn’t do any lesbian stuff or anything like that. She didn’t do anything stupid or controversial just to get media attention. She concentrated on the performance and music part of things.

She’s all done with the sexual stuff, ’cause that’s not her anymore. She maybe crazy and wild in her younger years, but she’s too old for that stuff now. No matter what you think of that performance, she still has it with the dancing. Madonna is an entertainer, and a rock & pop artist. I did like her song selections tonight too.

I’ve always respected Madonna. Even though I don’t like her current music today, I’ll always like her classic stuff more. People should give her the respect for that performance ’cause she certainly got mine. She did a great job!

Report: Bill Ward, thanks fans for support, after Black Sabbath decided to move on without him…

Black Sabbath posted this message on their facebook page last Friday:

“We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans…we have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open… We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll… See you at Download!!!

– Tony, Ozzy and Geeze”

Bill posted this message on his site yesterday, read it, here.

Even if Sabbath welcomed Bill to come back to the band whenever he wanted, I think Bill just wanted to get payed a lot of money that everyone else couldn’t afford to pay him. People on the internet are blaming the labels, they’re blaming Sharon, etc. Sorry people, but there is no one to blame but Bill himself. He is being an ego driven greedy douche. This was all his decision.

If you knew Black Sabbath’s history, Bill had trouble sticking with the band for years. Read Tony’s book, “Iron Man”, it’s all there. Most fans are upset that the drummer could get replaced. Again, more evidence that there’s a lot of new & young fans out there who don’t know much about Black Sabbath. Sabbath went through so many members over the years, so I’m sure they are used to replacing musicians by now. They would have no trouble replacing somebody as I’m sure Ozzy & Tony would find somebody quickly.

My question is, did Bill already start recording drum tracks for the new album? Will they keep his drum tracks or scrap ’em for the replacement drummer?

I support Bill, yes, because he is a phenomenal drummer, but I won’t deny the fact that he is being greedy and all he cares about is money here. It wouldn’t surprise me if Tony ends up getting, Vinny Appice back.

A female version of Ash? Definitely sounds like Diablo Cody’s idea, all the way…

Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, Rob Tapert, and team are still moving forward with the, “Evil Dead” remake, as more details of the project keep coming. Deadline, exclusively reports that the film found it’s leading star. Ash, won’t be played by Bruce Campbell after all. The character will be female this time around, and actress, Jane Levy, is officially hired for the role. Nobody knows who she is. She is a new and young upcoming actress, who has two other films coming out this year. Jane will be playing a character named, Mia, in the Evil Dead reboot.

Read the report here, at Deadline.

Harry Knowles over at AICN, says he already read the script for the movie. He says the script is scary and pretty similar to the original, Evil Dead movie, the first one. It’s just a younger cast and different characters.

Read Harry’s review of the script, here….

A lot of Evil Dead fans are being skeptical of this, saying it will suck and shouldn’t be remade, but being the big Evil Dead geek that I am, I’ll give it a chance. I honestly think a female version of, Ash, is a good idea and might be pretty entertaining. I’m sure she’s going to say, “Groovy”, at least once, just to get the audience going.

Harry says in the talkback there’s no Ash cameo in the script, but maybe he’s lying so he wouldn’t give out spoiling surprises. Ash played by Bruce should be in the film for at least a small scene. Or, maybe Bruce will get a cameo in the film playing a different character, who knows.

Hopefully, the remake will stay true to it’s low budget, B movie like style. I love the Evil Dead movies, all 3 of them.
