The Day After Irene

All day on Facebook, people have been posting pretty amazing photos of floodings, home wrecks, and other crazy things in the East Coast. Honestly, I find this pretty interesting stuff. A lot of dams have been destroyed which helps cause the flooding. There’s going to be possible flooding in the Greenwich and Schuylerville area, ’cause in Middle Falls there’s a huge crack in the dam here. They’re trying to look to see how bad the crack is. Hopefully it isn’t too bad. The dam in Middle Falls is really big. If it breaks, we’re all doomed and we’ll be underwater very quickly. It’s also getting kind of scary the day after Irene.

To those affected the day after, stay strong and stay safe. It maybe crazy, but I repeat, you being alive is what matters the most. Help your family and neighbors in your town clean up, and give people all the help they need even if you don’t know them.

I know this is a tough time but we have to learn that life moves forward, it always does.

I wonder if there is going to be a televised telethon for Red Cross Donations. You know like what they did with “9/11”, “Katrina”, “Haiti”, etc. Have musicians perform and celebrities answer phone calls. I’m sure they’ll plan another one of those pretty soon for “Irene”.

This is inspiring me to start writing music about the events of “Irene”. I haven’t written new songs in a while and just got some ideas in my head.

Best of luck to all you readers out there. Stay safe. Always.

Tonight’s VMA’s was a nightmare of a show…

Yes, I ended up watching MTV VMA’s tonight just for something to watch. The only three good things about tonight’s show was the Amy Winehouse tribute and they showed off “The Hunger Games” teaser trailer. I also liked how they showed clips of the new “Beavis & Butthead”. They were the plus!

The rest of it was just a disaster. I think Lady Gaga and Katy Perry takes the prize of worst fashion awards, what the hell were they up to? Katy Perry a block of cheese on top of her head and Lady Gaga dressed as John Travolta from “Greese” or the Fonz from “Happy Days”? Plus all the live performances were really bad too and they were all lip synching, of course.

Chris Brown was the wrong performer to pay tribute to Nirvana. The Foo Fighters should have been up there doing that.

I thought it was cool that Tony Bennett revealed a new Amy Winehouse song that those two recorded in the studio together before her death. A pregnant Beyonce performing was horrible too. Performing like that is not good for the baby, she shouldn’t have done it.

I don’t get why the music industry continues to award Chris Brown all the glory and fame when he is nothing but a woman beater. Why is he up there,  when Rihanna should have been up there instead?

The VMA’s continue to get worse every year.

Sebastian Bach’s, New Jersey is home is all flooded out…

Former Skid Row singer, Sebastian Bach is even feeling the Irene experience. His longtime home in New Jersey is all flooded out. Lot of his important KISS memorabilia and other important items have been destroyed and lost in the flood.

Check out his facebook page, Sebastian shares a few photos of his flooded home.

Like I said before, if your home is destroyed, that’s not important. Staying alive is important. Whether your home is either flooded out or trees has fallen through the roof, all that can be fixed and replaced. What can’t be replaced is your life. So it’s a good thing that Sebastian is still alive. He need to not worry about that memorabilia. He needs to worry about himself and his family.

If something like this happened to my home, I wouldn’t even be sad about it. I would have been happy to survive it. We should be happy that we survived Irene. Think about it.

Well, Hurricane Irene did hit NY pretty good, but not that hard as people expected…

I predicted the Hurricane Irene wasn’t going to happen at all but look like I thought wrong.  A tree fell in my yard of my house. The tree didn’t land on top of my house thankfully. Only one tree fell in my yard, that was it.

Today was a great day to stay in the house, to do some reading or play with the computer or whatever. We didn’t even lose power here in Greenwich either.

I finished reading the fifth book of “The Song of Ice and Fire” series, “A Dance With Dragons” today, I will write a review of that book soon. I just started reading Jaycee Dugard’s book, ” A Stolen Life”, after that.

All day on facebook, people were posting songs that had something to do with storms or hurricanes. Of course, Scorpions “Rock You Like a Hurricane” was the most posted, but I posted songs about storms that people didn’t know about.

Like these songs in the videos I posted in facebook today.

I hope all readers had a safe day and hope your home didn’t get too much damage. Even if your home is destroyed, that’s not really important. Staying alive is important. We should all be thankful that we’re still standing because Hurricane Irene could have killed us all if she wanted to.

Today was interesting day.

Game Review: “Duke Nukem: Forever”

Well, so I finally beat “Duke Nukem: Forever’, yes, in the difficult mode. This game took 2k Games 14 years to make. As a longtime gamer myself, I’m a huge fan of the Duke Nukem series. I’ve played all the earlier Duke Nukem games for the PC years back. They were classic games. I was very addicted to the earlier games. When I started playing this new game, I still had the addiction I had years before. Duke Nukem is that addicting!!!

On with the plot… this game is set 12 years after the events of “Duke Nukem: 3D”. Duke is now a famous celebrity. He’s rich and famous. In the opening scene of the game, Duke is set to go for an interview for his own talk show. On his way to the talk show, he learned that aliens once again has invaded, but this time they took over his home where he lives. Duke has twin sisters who are both his girlfriends, they were kidnapped by aliens and he must go and rescue them. Of course, he must destroy the aliens once and for all.

Enough with the plot. On with my thoughts of the game. When this game first came out, people gave this game mixed opinions. It’s another “love” or “hate” kind of thing. I really enjoyed the story. I thought the writing was actually pretty good. The graphics were very impressive. Much improvement on the graphics from the earlier games.

The game also had a mix of emotions. A lot of it can be funny and comical but sometimes the game can be very scary. There were some scenes in the game that kind of creeped me out a little bit, plus there is a lot of gore as well. There is also a bit of female nudity. Yes, the female characters actually showed their breasts in full bare. I thought the strip club scene was hot.

Duke Nukem says his usual comic catchphrases. They were mostly catchphrases taken from other well known movies. Some of the weapons were the same just the earlier games, but there are newer weapons too, of course. You still get the railgun and the shrink ray. Duke Nukem even shrinks himself in some scenes which I had a blast with.

Most importantly of all, the game play was just a fucking blast. The game was actually pretty long too. It was also very difficult and challenging. It took me over 20 tries to get past some parts, it was frustrating but that’s good. I like games that are really hard. I hate games that are too easy.

So was this game worth the 14 year wait? Absolutely!!!! There is going to be a sequel because the game just left open for a sequel. I hope they don’t make us wait another 14 years for the next game.

Now that I’m done with “Duke Nukem: Forever”, I will finally move on to “L.A. Noire”. “L.A. Noire” was a video game I bought several months back but never started it yet. I think I will definitely start that game next.

“Duke Nukem: Forever” was a brilliant game. Kick ass. I loved it. Good job, guys. Just a way a Duke Nukem game is supposed to be!

RIP: Stevie Ray Vaughan

21 years ago today, we lost one of the greatest guitar players of all time. That is Stevie Ray Vaughn. On August 27th, 1990, Stevie was killed in a helicopter crash along with two other men he was flying with. He is definitely one of my favorite guitar players. I’ve been listening to his music for years.

In honor of the great SRV, here are several videos of some of his greatest live performances. Enjoy!

People still talking about Irene in facebook…

For the past couple of days, people have been freaking out over Hurricane Irene. Some maybe getting tired of hearing about Irene everywhere, but can you blame people? Hurricane’s never really happen around the East Coast. They are well known to happen down South mostly. It’s very rare Hurricane’s come around here.

A lot of people are scared, some think it will be the next Katrina and wreck shit up. Some just don’t think it will happen at all and blah blah blah.  You get the deal. Mixed opinions with Hurricane Irene.

Like everyone else, I’m hoping tomorrow’s Hurricane won’t be too bad. If the Hurricane does start destroying homes, buildings along with flooding, that would be horrible, but I don’t think that will happen. I don’t think we’ll be the next Katrina. It could happen, you just never know.

I wish everyone good luck and hope everyone stays safe and stay alive. While the weather is safe today, have all the fun while you can because you just never know what will happen tomorrow. Today, I’m going to plan on trying to finish “Duke Nukem: Forever” video game since I’m on the final boss now. I’m also going to watch more of “Dexter – Season 5” today and watch a movie later tonight. Might as well get all my entertainment in before the madness tomorrow.

Tomorrow is an interesting day. When Irene gets here, I’ll try to shoot some video to see what it’s like out there.

I believe my chest is improving just a little…

The pic above was taken a long time ago, maybe several months ago, not sure.

The pic below was taken just now….

Notice the difference? I think I’m doing okay.

Edit to add: Since I gave up drinking Whey Protein powders, I’m glad I did. I just eat really clean. If you have a good nutrition, you don’t need supplemental products to build muscle. I gave up Protein Powders and shakes, I still seem to be building muscle pretty good here.

Ghostbusters III, questions that needs answers…

While the original actors of Ghostbusters are aging, do you think they’ll still be able to play their characters well? If you played, “Ghostbusters – The Video Game” like I did, you’ll know that they still have what it takes to play their characters. They still have the voices down pretty well. If you don’t think they can, play the video game. You’d be surprised to hear yourself that they still got it. Even Bill Murray played Peter Venkmen well in the video game. I think they’ll do fine with the new film.

What I’m a little worried about is the script. I hope it won’t be another “Ghostbusters II”, that film was horrible. We need Slimer to return and hopefully Staypuff as well. As far as Vigo The Carpathian, I hope they don’t make him return ’cause that was a terrible villain.

We hope for a Ghostbusters film that is much like the first one. The first Ghostbusters film was a classic. I’ll always love that film so much. I’ll never get tired of it. What we need for “GIII” is a celebration of the first film. The Video Game did a pretty good job at that.

We want “GIII” to be scary as hell, along with the comedy mixed into it like the first one. We don’t want it to be a family film like the second movie was. I’m fine with the new young Ghostbusters taking over for III, I just want a good script and I want good casting with the young Ghostbusters.

Like I always say, I’m all for another Ghostbusters movies ’cause it deserves another film to close out the trilogy. There will probably be a new Ghostbusters trilogy after this for young Ghostbusters to take over and the original cast can retire after the 3rd movie.

Just like I hope Warner Bros. does a good job with Zack Snyder’s “Man Of Steel”, I hope Sony does a good job with “Ghostbusters III” as well.

Maybe the next film can be successful without Bill Murray, who knows. I’m not getting my hopes up. They need him. I’m sure Bill will respond to this soon, he’s just waiting for the right time ’cause he knows the media will be all over it. He’s making his careful decision and thinking things over. He may be a pain in the ass about it, but even Bill wants the next movie to be good like all of us. If you think about it, we are not alone, even Bill is worried about the next film.

I wish them luck on “Ghostbusters III”. Since they maybe start shooting next year, they’re going to start casting soon. We know for sure that Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver are returning…but we haven’t yet heard from Bill Murray and Rick Moranis. It would be great if everybody returns. Lets hope they make “GIII” a great film where we could all walk out of the theater with smiles on our faces.
