I'm a musician, singer/songwriter, blogger, writer, poet, bodybuilder, movie lover, music lover, video gamer, history/political buff, conservative/republican, etc. I like to do a lot of things.
Peter Berg’s “Battleship” movie based on the popular board game hits the internet today. From what I remember, the original Battleship game was never about battling against aliens. It’s supposed to be about battling other ships such as the Destroyer, submarine, aircraft carrier, etc. Just adding alien ships to the mix is just silly. The film stars Liam Neeson and Taylor Kitsch. Definitely looks like a wait for DVD thing for me. I’m not that excited about it.
For a while now, JJ Abrams wasn’t sure if he will direct the “Star Trek” sequel. Now that he’s done with “Super 8”, he signed on to direct “Star Trek 2”. He’s working with the same writers from the first “Star Trek” movie, Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Damon Lindelof. I’m sure the same cast from the first movie will return too.
I thought the first Star Trek movie with JJ was very good. Lets hope they do a good job with the second movie too. Will JJ finally agree that William Shatner should star in it this time? Hopefully!!! Captain Kirk died in “Generations”, but it’s science fiction. There are always ways to bring the original Capt. Kirk with Shatner back.
It be kind of cool if Patrick Stewart as Cpt. Picard can make a return too.
When people want to remember Amy as her drug use and partying lifestyle, I think it’s wrong and unfair. Personal problems should be kept away from the music. Amy’s music may not be for everyone but her music and her talent was so special, in a lot of ways. She was a pop music artist, yes, but she wrote pop music like no other artist would. Most pop artists are mostly electronica & dance stuff. Not Amy’s music though. She had a mix of R&B, jazz, big band swing, etc.
You can’t deny that Amy was a very talented singer. She may have been losing her talent and all before she died, but everyone should respect her the great talent that she was.
Like her or not, she’s going to leave behind a huge legacy for her music. She was a new breakout artist who just started. She only had two albums and I think she just finished a new album with Mark Ronson before she died. They’ll probably release it too.
I’m sure she had plenty of unreleased material that the record labels will probably release also. I can see Mark and the record labels will try to get the public to respect her for the music. “Back To Black” was an incredible mind blowing album. I’m not saying that because she died, I was listening to that album all the time even when she was alive. I still listen to the album all the time. It’s one of my top ten favorite records ever. Love it to death.
No matter how she died, she’s just too young to go. She had an incredible singing voice and I wished I had seen her live in concert. The labels will keep her legacy in music alive just like they do with Joplin, Hendrix, and Jim Morrison. Like her or not, it is tragic that we lost Amy.
Well, who didn’t see this one coming? Frank Darabont just attended this week’s San Diego Comic Con to take the stage and talk with reporters to promote “Season 2”, and just a few days later, he announced he is quitting the series. Frank Darabont is the man responsible for bringing us the series based on the comic books. He didn’t explain the reason why he is stepping down.
When Nirvana was going to promote their “Deluxe Edition” of “Nevermind”, facebook staff pulled the album cover you see above because of the naked baby on the photo. Facebook said it was against the TOS because nudity wasn’t allowed.
That is pretty silly and wrong for facebook to do that. Nirvana has been around way before facebook was launched.
It seems the team behind Nirvana negotiated with facebook to have the picture back on their page because it looks like Nirvana has it back up, here.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the Nevermind “20th Anniversary Delux edition”. I love Nirvana. Yep, facebook enforces the TOS on everybody, doesn’t matter if you’re a famous band or celebrity. They take action on everybody no matter who breaks the rules.
Over the weekend, I have decided to start watching Kiefer Sutherland’s “24” on Netflix. I’m already addicted to the show and watched the first 8 episodes of Season 1 already. It’s another one of those shows that will immediately grab you and keep you hooked ’til the very end. When “24” used to air on TV in the past, I saw some of the newer episodes but never the earlier show.
Jack Bauer is such a great character, he’s so badass. Glad I finally got into this show. The writing is really impressive. I remember this show being pretty high in the ratings and it was very popular. I can see why now.
I hope the “24” movie for the big screen happens soon ’cause I remember Kiefer said they were planning one.
Now that Amy is gone, you can expect Hollywood to make a biopic film about her where an actress would play the deceased pop star. The actress would have to match her look and be around the same age.
Here are my picks of young actresses that should play Amy:
Scarlett Johansson – Scarlett is just about Amy’s age and she has the good enough acting chops to play just about anything, plus she can sing and has musical experience.
Megan Fox – For years, Megan and Amy have been compared to each other. They both look kind of similar. Just give Megan the similar clothing Amy wears, the same tattoos, and there you go, Megan would look exactly like Amy. Megan doesn’t sing but she could learn for the film.
Keira Knightley – She’s got Amy’s look a little bit too.
Natalie Portman – Simply because she did a great job with “Black Swan”, I think Natalie would be a good fit.
Christina Aguilera – She did a good job playing the leading role in the film “Burlesque” which is a film that I actually enjoyed, plus, she’s an actual musician and singer too. She wouldn’t be a bad pick.
I would go see an Amy Winehouse biopic film, depending on who’s directing and starring in it. I just hope they make it an Oscar winning movie when they do one.
In facebook, I came across this young female guitarist, named, Kristen Capolino, who looks to be in her early 20’s. When I looked at her facebook profile, I saw that she was playing a flying V electric guitar on a big stage. So I’m thinking to myself, “This chick must play rock or metal, I must check her out”.
Usually a lot of young guitarists would play simple and basic stuff, but that’s not the case with Kristen Capolino. She’s a shred guitarist and she plays like an adult. So I took to youtube to watch a lot of her live videos and I just kept watching. Wanting more and more of Kristen. Her guitar playing is so impressive. She’s got her own style and when you hear her play, you know it’s her. She seems to have a great ear and never misses a note. Her phrasing in lead guitar is incredible and her technique is just phenomenal. When she plays on stage with other musicians, she plays with them well and if you watch the other musicians faces, you can see that they are in awe of her playing too. She’s doing a lot more than just shredding, she’s playing actual music.
She’s a fine player with a gift. I think she’s going to go very far in her career, hopefully get featured for Guitar World magazine, someday?
The only thing that people are complaining about her is that the way she moves on stage. A lot of people think she moves on stage in a pretty silly and weird way. Some even gone as far as calling her cocky and egotistical, but in her defense on the way she moves on stage, it’s just her way of showing people that she loves what she’s doing. Playing the guitar and performing live. Her dance moves and facial expressions, all that is showing her passion. That’s how you’re supposed to play the guitar, in my opinion. Just standing there like a zombie is not fun. You move around and act like you’re having fun. That’s what she’s doing there.
She’s a great player. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves and I wish her luck in her career. Keep up the great playing, Kristen! I’m impressed!
San Diego Comic Con is happening this week, and at the “LOST” panel, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse crashed the panel in full on geek out style. They revealed a deleted scene from “LOST – Season 1”. The scene shows Dr. Jack Shephard and John Locke having a heated argument about the hatch while Jacob and the man in black looks on.
I’m all done watching “LOST” on Netflix, by the way. Finished, Season 6, the last season, a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t get around to writing a review of it yet, but will soon. Fantastic show though. Wish it could have lasted a few more seasons.
Pee Wee Herman, the man himself made an appearance at San Diego Comic Con this week. During his panel, he revealed some plot points of Judd Apatow’s script for the new upcoming Pee Wee movie. Pee Wee announced that the movie is similar to “Pee Wee’s Big Adventure”. The new film will be a new adventure and it will be a road movie.
Well, I’m glad the new film will be similar to “Big Adventure”. I think he just hinted that it could be a sequel to that movie. It’ll be great if Dottie, Francis, and Mickey came back played by the same actors. A “Big Adventure” reunion movie would be great!
I’m a huge fan of the Pee Wee character. I’m not ashamed of it. I don’t care how many people thinks it’s weird.
