“Star Trek: Beyond” looks like complete trash, hope this is the last of the reboot series…

I really don’t like how Star Trek has become sci-fi & action movies. They were never supposed to be popcorn action films but thanks JJ Abrams, he ruined Star Trek, in my opinion.

Star Trek was never supposed to be action and popcorn movies to begin with.

They’re really about space exploration, the drama and politics. Go back and watch the original Star Trek and TNG, that’s what Star Trek is supposed to be, in my opinion.

Anyway, I hope this will be the last film of the reboot series with the young cast. They need to ditch this series and reboot it again. Create something original. I hope this will be the last of the reboot.

“Star Trek Into Darkness” flopped in the box office hard and this one will too.

Robert Orci, dropped from Star Trek 3…

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/389701-breaking-bob-orci-removed-from-star-trek-3#/slide/1

Robert Orci have been suddenly dropped from directing “Star Trek 3”. Nobody’s saying as to why he’s been dropped but since no one is talking yet, I’m thinking he might of gotten fired. That’s what it’s looking like.

Honestly, I don’t care who directs the next Star Trek film. They just need to drop this fucking reboot. I’m tired of it. I don’t like the reboot films at all. It’s not true, “Star Trek”. Many Star Trek fans don’t want this reboot either and for some reason Paramount/Bad Robot are committed to making the sequels of the younger cast. Even though JJ moved on to direct Star Wars, he’s still helping out with “Star Trek 3” ’cause his company Bad Robot is still producing.

Why don’t they just throw this re-boot in the trash and create a whole new Star Trek series? With new characters and new stories and all that stuff. This is science fiction so I’m sure Paramount can come up with something new. Either that or they can give “Deep Space Nine” their first big screen film. Or even better if Paramount can somehow reunite the “The Next Generation” cast, we could have one final TNG movie.

I’m the biggest Star Trek fan and I still think this is a dying franchise. “Star Trek Into Darkness” was complete garbage and I’m sure the next one will be too.

Hollywood really needs to save Star Trek. Pretty badly. Hopefully, “Star Trek 3” will be the last of the reboot with the young cast.

I’m a huge fan of the original Star Trek films and the TNG films. Yeah, I’m a Trekkie and feel proud of it. I grew up my life on Star Trek. Loved this franchise ever since I was a child. I’m one of those few that believes that JJ ruined Trek so hopefully he won’t do the same with Star Wars.

JJ Abrams says the “Star Wars: Episode 7” script is done but I’m getting kind of skeptical…

JJ Abrams says the script for “Star Wars: Episode 7” is done finally and they’re gonna go full steam ahead which I think he’s saying they’re gonna start filming soon. He’s also not gonna film the new Star Wars in IMAX as he claims that they are loud cameras and they are not right to do intimate scenes with which is kind of funny ’cause JJ used to be obsessed with IMAX but he doesn’t like IMAX anymore?

Anyway, I’m getting pretty skeptical of “Star Wars 7” after seeing “Star Trek Into Darkness”. Now that JJ has jumped aboard to write the script himself after the previous writer left, I don’t know how good the script is gonna be. The script to “Star Trek Into Darkness” was an absolute disaster so hopefully “Star Wars 7” won’t be the same. Since Lawrence Kasdan helped JJ with the script… maybe that’ll help make the script for “Star Wars 7” better but I don’t know. JJ maybe an okay film maker but his writing has problems. Hopefully, him and Kasdan will do Star Wars justice.

Yes, “Episode 7” will be full of CGI and lens flare indeed but I hope it’s a good story. Even though the script is done you can see that JJ is still being secretive on the plot. Is this movie a return for all the original Star Wars gang? Like everyone else, I’m expecting that too after JJ confirmed R2 the droid will be in it. Han, Leia, Luke, Lando, Chewbacca, etc. They’ll all come back.

Hopefully they leave the Ewoks out of it, though. I have a feeling “Episode VII” will leave right off from “Return of the Jedi”. Could “Episode VII” start off on Endor where “Jedi” left off?

I’m more interested on who the new villain is gonna be. Shouldn’t be Vader. Should be somebody new. A return of Master Palpatine is still possible, though. He could have survived that fall after Vader threw him off at the end of “Jedi”. I’m hoping “Episode 7” is gonna be good.

JJ Abrams confirms R2D2 will be in, “Star Wars Episode VII”!!!

Now that the team behind “Star Wars VII” finally have a director, writers, producers, composer, etc. — now they’re gonna start revealing what characters will be in the movie and they will start the casting soon. JJ tweeted himself this photo with the Bad Robot team confirming that R2D2 will be in “Star Wars VII”. So to prove that R2 will be in the movie… the Bad Robot team poses in a photo with R2 the droid himself. I think the woman pictured in the photo is none other than Kathleen Kennedy, the new Lucasfilm president, I believe.

See the photo, here.

This is a good chance that C3PO will be in it too.

When will Mark, Harrison, and Carrie be confirmed? Everybody knows they’ll probably be in it but JJ is waiting for the right time for confirmation.

Why so many people are upset with “Star Trek Into Darkness”… just saw it…

I’ve just seen, “Star Trek Into Darkness” and since so many people gave this film mixed reviews, I wanted to talk about my thoughts on why people hated it so much. There’s a few reasons for the negative criticism over, “Star Trek Into Darkness”, the latest Star Trek movie by JJ Abrams. I’ll put a spoiler warning in.

*****************************************************************

The reason this film has gotten negatively criticized a lot is because of a few big scenes…..

1) Kirk’s death scene is a total remake from Spock’s death from, “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”. Spock stealing, “Khhaaaaaan’s” catchphrase from Kirk was wrong too.

2)  The Spock vs. Khan fight scene was messed up also. Keep in mind that Mr. Spock was never a violent guy. Throughout the original TV series and the original movies, Spock never used his fists to fight. Except the only time Spock used violence was that he used a weapon to fight Kirk in the original Star Trek episode, “Amok Time”. Other than that, Spock never used any violence whatsoever. If Spock wanted to hurt people, he would do the pinch nerve that he’s known for and I don’t think I haven’t seen Zachary Quinto do that with his Spock.

3) The Enterprise hiding underwater was silly as hell.

4) There are also tons of plot holes throughout the film… the script was a mess.

5) Benedict Cumberbatch trying too hard to be Ricardo Montalban who played the original Khan

The good things I can say about the new movie is that Spock in the volcano scene was kind of cool and I also liked Peter Weller, the Robocop actor, being in the film. He played a good villain. I also liked Alice Eve, the sexy blonde in the film.

Other than that, the film was a big disappointment. I didn’t “hate it”…. it just wasn’t very good. It was definitely a little better than “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier”, though. I’m glad JJ left for Star Wars. Who ever takes JJ’s place in Star Trek better do a good job ’cause this franchise needs to get saved, big time.

I’d still say ditch the re-boot and try something new.

Why not give “Deep Space Nine” their own movie? I just started watching “Deep Space Nine” on Netflix and it’s a great show actually. I kind of like it more than TNG, honestly. “Deep Space Nine” definitely deserves their own film.

Report: Tom Cruise finally signs on to, “MI: 5”, which is good!!!

It took him forever to do it but Tom Cruise has finally signed on to the 5th installment of the, “Mission Impossible”, franchise. Well, this is good news actually. I absolutely LOVED, “Ghost Protocol”, the 4th movie. “Ghost Protocol”, was actually a pretty amazing action movie and the best one of the series so far. That’s probably because I was pretty impressed with Brad Bird’s directing style like everyone else. Plus, Tom’s acting was actually really good in “Ghost Protocol” too! “Ghost Protocol” really is a fantastic film and if you haven’t seen it yet, it is available for Netflix streaming and I suggest you check it out. I have “Ghost Protocol” in my Netflix instant-que and I was meaning to watch it again soon. Probably this weekend.

No word on the plot and other cast signings but the director for “MI: 5” will be the same director who made the film, “Jack Reacher” (also starring Cruise). I haven’t seen “Jack Reacher” yet but I’ll rent it through Netflix sometime.

Tom Cruise maybe a whack job of a guy but love him or hate him; he still has the talent in acting and film.

Deadline, reports.

Cool Video: “Star Trek Into Darkness” trailer is finally here! Looks great but…

… to be honest, I really miss the style of Star Trek movies from the original series and The Next Generation movies. I like Star Trek movies with great storytelling that are insightful, and the ones that don’t rely on action, and big special effects. “Star Trek Into Darkness”, honestly, looks like a complete rehash of the first one. The special effects and action looks impressive, but I don’t want to see Star Trek like that. The reason the original Trek movies and the TNG movies worked, ’cause they completely relied on science fiction. JJ Abrams take on Star Trek are more like Star Wars films to me.

I still wish the TNG cast would reunite and make one final TNG movie, but looks like that’s not going to happen any time soon. It would be nice to see if the Voyager cast would get their own movie ’cause Captain Janeway, just kicks ass as a captain. “Voyager” was a great series, and plan on re-watching it on Netflix at some point.

I’ll still see “Star Trek: Into Darkness” in theater, sure. It does look pretty good.

The first 9 minutes of JJ Abrams “Star Trek Into Darkness” will debut in Imax 3D – Dec. 14th…

If you have an IMAX movie theater nearby, you may get the chance to see the trailer of the next Star Trek movie directed by JJ Abrams, “Star Trek Into Darkness” in Imax 3D. They will also show the first 9 minutes of the film. If they are willing to show the first 9 minutes of the film, there’s gotta be something serious, they want to show off. Maybe this will be the confirmation, whether or not Khan will be the main villain? Anyhow, I’m sure somebody will bootleg the footage with an Iphone or something, so it’ll land on youtube the day after.

More on the story, here.

I’m a huge Star Trek fan, a Trekkie as some of you know. The Trek shows I mostly liked was the original, TNG, and Voyager. I didn’t really care for “Deep Space 9” or “Enterprise” but maybe I’ll re-watch them on Netflix soon. I want to re-watch all Star Trek series on Netflix soon anyway. I already re-watched the original Star Trek on there. I’ll start re-watching the Next Generation after I catch up with “Sons of Anarchy”.

Back to Star Trek, I wish they would reunite the Next Generation cast and do another film but I don’t see that happening anytime soon, sadly. The TNG cast deserve to go out with one last great film. Something better than, “Star Trek: Nemesis” which was alright but nothing special.

Film Review: “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”

Starring: Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Josh Holloway

Directed by Brad Bird:

Well today, I decided to hit the mall to see “MI: Ghost Protocol”. Here is my review…

Plot/synopsis: In the 4th installment of the Mission Impossible series, Ethan Hunt and his team are racing against time to track down a dangerous terrorist named Hendricks, who has gained access to Russian nuclear launch codes and is planning a strike on the United States. An attempt by the team to stop him at the Kremlin ends in a disaster, with an explosion causing severe destruction to the Kremlin and the IMF being implicated in the bombing, forcing the President to invoke Ghost Protocol, under which the IMF is disavowed, and will be offered no help or backup in any form. Undaunted, Ethan and his team chase Hendricks to Dubai, and from there to Mumbai, but several spectacular action sequences later, they might still be too late to stop a disaster.

After seeing this new movie, makes me want to re-watch the first three films. I thought “Ghost Protocol”, was a whole lot of fun. It is definitely the best one of the series, and it’s very rare that the later sequels get better than the earlier movies.

I thought the plot was pretty interesting, the story maybe a little predictable, but it kept you watching ’til the very end. Most importantly of all, I was most impressed with the action scenes and the direction style of, Brad Bird. Brad Bird is one talented and unique director. He’s pretty stylish. Brad filmed most of this movie with real stunts, and they filmed on real film locations. Yes, they actually filmed at the Kremlin and that sky tower building in Dubai where Tom did that crazy high flying stunt.

I thought the cast did a decent job on the acting, and Tom was enjoyable, like usual. Josh Holloway who played Sawyer from the show “Lost”, had a real small role, it was pretty much a cameo, but he did real good though. Josh looked different with short hair and clean shaven. You’ll see Josh in the beginning of the film.

The movie was an action packed ride like I expected. Not bad for a PG-13 action movie. I thought Paula Patton who played the film’s female star, was a pretty hot woman. The action scenes were so fun, that it made you want to cheer for Tom, and the scenes did look pretty realistic with him doing his own stunts.

I thought the movie was awesome. Liked it a lot. It just gave me even more respect for Tom. I think there is going to be a 5th “MI”, movie ’cause the ending just left open for another one, of course. I’m all for another “MI”, movie. Definitely check this one out.

Score for “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” = **** (4 stars as in “excellent”)

Report: Benicio Del Toro, won’t do Trek…guess he wanted to be payed more and they couldn’t afford it…

JJ Abrams squashed the news that Benicio Del Toro could be starring as the main villain for “Star Trek” sequel. Benicio dropped over money issues.

Look like Del Toro wanted an extremely high paycheck and the film crew couldn’t afford him. They also denied that he was going to be playing Khan.
