Stephen King’s “Under the Dome”…

Today, I finally finished reading, Stephen King’s “Under the Dome”. Yep, finished reading the whole thing. The book is over 1000 pages long. It may look long, but once you start reading it, the story won’t seem that long to you. The book is fast pacing to read. It’ll grab you once you get into it. The book only took me about a month or so to read. Not that bad. Stephen actually wrote this book way back in 1976 but it was never finished. Back then, he put it away after all these years. It was his wife, Tabitha and a few friends of his that talked him into finishing the story. It’s a science fiction novel. It also has a mix of horror and comedy thrown into it. Stephen finally returns to his old writing roots, the style that he used to have back in the 70’s and 80’s. The book reminds me of his classics, such as “The Stand”, “It”, “The Shining”, “The Dead Zone”, etc. “Under the Dome” returns to his usual whacky King humor, graphic sexual material, gore and all that.

The story tells of a town named Chester’s Mills, which is covered by a wall called the Dome. It’s a clear wall in the shape a circle, kind of like a force field. The people in the town are trapped in the Dome, forcing people to live in town Under the Dome. The story creates lots of great characters, yes, there are good guys and bad guys as well. In the story, there are cops that are actually the bad guys. Which the cops can control the town their own way. In the book, there are cops using drugs, raping women, beating up innocent people, etc. It’s a whacky story yes, but a very entertaining read.

I’m sure you all heard the news that Stephen King and Steven Spielberg has teamed up to make this book into a TV mini series movie. The book has a lot of offensive adult content that is definitely not for kids. So if they are serious on a TV movie, they will have to weed out all the offensive material out of the movie version to make it family friendly. So I don’t know if the TV version is a good idea when I prefer this book to be adapted to the big screen instead.

To those who are into Stephen King books like me, and haven’t read this one yet, you should definitely check it out. Now that I finished reading this book, I will start reading Ozzy’s, “I Am Ozzy” autobiography later this week.

Sarah Palin’s “Going Rogue”…this woman inspires me for a lot of reasons…

I love Sarah Palin. Why? The answer is really simple….inspiration. Yes, Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is inspiring. You can love her or hate her, but you know she’s an inspiration for all to this world. Talk all kinds of negative shit and hate her all you want. She is here to change the world and to inspire everybody.

I just got done reading her book, “Going Rogue”. It was a very inspiring read. Hard to put down. Her thoughts and her rants, may drive you crazy. Yes, but that’s one of the reasons why I love her. She tells things like it is. I’ve been a supporter and fan of Sarah Palin ever since the election. She is quite the incredible woman. Not only that she looks good, she’s got a pretty interesting family and lifestyle.

In her book, she talks about her political life and her life outside of politics as well. Everything’s in there. How she became mayor of Wasilla, how she became governor of Alaska, she talked about how she first met John McCain, cleared things up about accusations of her banning books, trashed Fox news, she talked pregnancy and how she’s against abortion, a lot of Alaska talk, how she married her husband Todd and raised her family, etc. Everything is in there. She even talked about that funny youtube video at a turkey farm with this guy killing turkeys in the background, remember that? Of couse, this drama with Bristol Palin’s baby is in there as well. She talked about how she exposed President Obama being associated with terrorists from his past and being part of ACORN.

There is a lot of reasons why she is inspiring and will become the next President of the United States. Yes, I said it. Everybody knows it. It’s going to happen. She had my vote as Vice President during the last election and she’ll get my vote again if she decides to run for Prez in 2012. I’m pretty sure she will run ’cause she kind of hinted at it at the end of her book. People may hate her now. In the future, I think she will get the respect she deserves.

The only reason I think a lot of people hate her is because she’s a woman, she’s good looking and she raises a family which she does a good job at. People hating on her is the only reason she will  be the next elected President. I loved it when she appeared on Bill O’ Reilly and Glen Beck. She has negative beef at Obama? Is she bashing Obama ’cause she’s jealous? Maybe a little bit, but she’s just telling things like it is. I love how she uses her facebook page to rant about Obama. Obama has a shady past that many people don’t know about and she’s doing a good job exposing him.

Loyal Sarah Palin fan. Sarah for President!

Cool Video: Sarah Palin did the right thing leaving the Noblesville, Indiana book signing…

I know she’s getting plenty of hate for this, but I honestly love her even more, not being sarcastic either. Sarah didn’t quit on her fans that the haters claim. These fans don’t deserve an autograph and a “meet and greet” by her. She has her own reasons for this and it’s her business.

This is life folks, everything is not perfect the way you want it. Celebrities and politicians can’t please everybody, so don’t hate her for this. If you were true fans of Sarah Palin, then you would respect her decisions.

If I travelled to one of her book signings, to wait in the freezing cold and rain for hours and if she ditched us, I would understand, and not whine about it like they would. Things like this happens all the time at autograph signings. Celebs refused to pose for photos and refused to sign autographs with me in the past before, it happens.

The people that heckled Sarah Palin after she left were all being very childish, anyways. Boo hoo.

Thought: How Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” is inspiring for adult men…

Yes, the “Twilight” series were mainly aimed toward the younger audiences, but notice that more and more adult men are starting to read the books, and seeing the movies. I am noticing that most men are slamming these series because of its teen content and soap opera like romance. Not giving anymore detail than that on why they think the series suck so bad. I am also noticing that most of these men haven’t even read the books or seen the movies. I think it’s because they want to fit in with the other haters to bash everything that goes mainstream.

What would make men get interested in reading the books or see the movies in the first place? I think simply because they are curious. They want to get into “Twilight”, to get an idea of why teens love ’em so much. Just like me, they are fans of vampire stories and they want to see Stephenie Meyer’s take on them. I’m pretty sure men get a little embarrassed at first, that they feel like a fool getting into teen “Twilight”, but once they read the books or see the movies, they’ll find them not so bad after all and actually enjoying it.

I have also read plenty of reviews of “Twilight: New Moon”, mostly men slamming the movie and giving the film negative reviews. Most of them say that the new film is a teen’s dream, something that kids would want, but some men still hate it.

You see, fellas, it doesn’t matter if you like or hate the series, either way. As long as Stephenie Meyer got all the men talking about these series, she is successful for that reason.

It might feel a little weird to go in a movie to see a bunch of shirtless muscle men in one movie, but you gotta admit it, that these guys have great bodybuilding physiques. It’s not gonna make you feel gay for getting into “Twilight”. It will make you feel like a “man”.

Stephenie is a great, unique storyteller. She knows how to grab people’s attention, either good or bad. As long as people are talking about these series, Hollywood will bring us more.

Men enjoy soap operas and campy romance, that’s why they enjoy these “Twilight” stories. They simply want to know what it will be like to be in the teen world. Men are also hypocrites when it comes to bashing “Twilight”, because of its teen content and romance.

They really shouldn’t be bashing these series, when most men are into silly comic book superhero flicks that are aimed at kids, a lot of men are into Pixar films that are aimed for children, and a lot of ’em are into Disney flicks as well. So if you’re going to bash “Twilight” you gotta stop and think about some of the other kiddie things that you enjoy. Men are even into Spongebob and Pokemon. Not to mention, Star Wars as well.

“Twilight” is the Star Wars for teens. Give the teens respect for this ’cause they deserve this entertainment. I’m looking forward to seeing “New Moon”, will hopefully see it soon, hopefully this weekend.

Report: JJ Abrams changes his mind about working on Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” series into films, he won’t be doing them…

A long while back, JJ Abrams said he was talking about wanting to make the “Dark Tower” novel series into films by Stephen King. It seems that JJ changed his mind and said he won’t be doing them. The reasons?

JJ admits he was overwhelmed by the six years of working on “Lost”, he refuses to do another 7 years working on the “Dark Tower” series. Keep in mind there are a total of 7 “Dark Tower” series. I have them all and read them all.

JJ says, he will be willing to see, “The Dark Tower” movies made by someone else, but it won’t be him, since he is a Stephen King fanatic.

From MTV News:

http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/11/10/jj-abrams-will-not-be-building-his-dark-tower/

That really sucks. I was hoping JJ would stick with them. Oh well. I’m sure there are other good directors that would take over. Directors that I think would make great Dark Tower flicks: Ridley Scott, Peter Jackson, and Sam Raimi.

Please, just stay away from Brett Ratner and Michael Bay.

If these Dark Tower series can’t be made into movies at all, why not make them into video games instead? If you read the books, you can easily see that these would make great video games for the Ps3/Xbox.

Report: Stephenie Meyer to appear on the Oprah show for a full interview…

ATTENTION “TWILIGHT” FANS!!!!!!

“Twilight” author, Stephenie Meyer wrote a few succssful vampire books. Her book, “Twilight” was made into a movie which also was successful. “New Moon” is about to hit theaters. She’s never done interviews at all yet. Not with the press and she’s never done interviews for TV.

So here’s your chance to finally see Stephenie Meyer herself. She will appear on the Oprah show this Friday.

Since Oprah is good with books, I’m sure she will ask Stephenie a lot of good questions about the “Twilight” series. I fuckin’ hate Oprah but I will watch just this one episode just for Stephenie.

Yes, I am a “Twilight” fan, don’t care what anybody else says.

Announced from Stephene’s website:

Report: Stephenie Meyer’s “The Host” to be made into a film…(note: It has nothing do with “Twilight”, it’s an adult novel)

Three different producers have acquired to buy the rights for Stephenie Meyer’s adult novel, “The Host”, to be made into a future film. The producers payed for the rights with their own money.

Before you go accusing the book of being a boring litttle teeny vampire story, it is NOT. It’s the only adult novel that Stephenie Meyer has written and it has nothing to do with “Twilight”. This is a science fiction story.

Variety Reports:

http://weblogs.variety.com/bfdealmemo/2009/09/twilights-meyer-tackles-adult-pic-fare-with-niccol.html?ref=ssp

I’ve been wanting to read, “The Host” but never bought the book. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies to do, I used to read a book all the time when I was young, but now I read a book once in a while.

I don’t think, “The Host” will be as big as “Twilight” but it still might do well in the box office depending on how the film is.

Thought: Why I think “Twilight” is better than “Harry Potter”…

So, “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” will be out this week. Will I go see it?

No.

Why? Not only that I think that Harry Potter is the most overrated novel/movie franchise in the history of entertainment, I just think the stories don’t do anything to me, they don’t grab my attention, and I don’t see anything special about ’em. The truth is,  I just can’t get into this whole Wizard thing. It’s not really my type of storytelling

I like stories that are much more darker, which is one reason why I love the “Twilight” series more.

Both Harry Potter and Twilight have a few things in common. Both franchises were created by women, J.K. Rowling and Stephenie Meyer. Both have a huge amount of mainstream popularity. Both have a huge following of tweeny girls mostly.

As you can see, I’m no Harry Potter fan at all. I find J.K.’s stories boring. Stephenie makes her “Twilight” series more entertaining.

What is so entertaining about a couple of children becoming wizards to learn magic and go on these silly adventures that mean nothing?

I think “Twilight” is better stuff, because Stephenie make her storytelling more insightful and more detailed than J.K. Rowling’s. The “Twilight” series has more stories to tell than just a girl falling in love with a vamp. The “Twilight” series is easy targeted, the series get made fun of because of it’s tween content…when the funny thing is, “Harry Potter” is pretty much the same exact thing.

I have no interest in Harry Potter whatsoever. Tried reading the first book, couldn’t get into it. Tried seeing the first couple of movies, didn’t like ’em.

When Stephenie Meyer brought us, “Twilight”, I was impressed that Stephenie is trying to compete with J.K. The truth is, “Twilight” is bigger and more successful than “Harry Potter”.

Just wait until “Twilight: New Moon” comes out in theaters, it will destroy, “Half Blood Prince” in the box office.

Stephenie Meyer likes to make her stories more realistic and fun as if they were happening for real. Stephenie likes to explain in detail how people become vampires and werewolves, while Harry Potter doesn’t explain anything.

J.K. is overrated, pure and simple. I admire Stephenie’s work immensely. Those who make fun of Stephenie’s work because of her teen vampire views is a stupid idiot, in my opinion. I admire Stephenie’s way of trying to bring horror fiction for young kids. Of course, both Stephenie and J.K.’s work can be for people off all ages, not just for teen girls.

Sure, I get made fun of for liking the “Twilight” series, but I don’t care what anyone thinks. I enjoy whatever grabs my attention no matter what age audience the stories are aimed at.

Report: Angelina Jolie to play Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a character from the Patricia Cornwell books…

Even more Angelina news, she just made a deal with Fox 2000 and author Patricia Cornwell for Angelina to play a character named Dr. Kay Scarpetta. Dr. Kay Scarpetta is a popular fictional character in the novel world, the character has a total of 16 books, all written by Patricia Cornwell.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118002704.html?categoryid=10&cs=1

I never read the Dr. Kay Scarpetta books, but look like Angelina’s hair will be changed to blonde ’cause the character is blonde…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kay_Scarpetta

Angelina was blonde for a couple of her movies in the past like: “Girl, Interrupted” and “Life or Something Like It”. I would think she is fine in coloring her hair to blonde for a film.
