Report: Monica Belluci joins “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”…will join Nicolas Cage in Disney/Bruckheimer flick…

Although the movie, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” is currently filming which already had two car accidents with stunt men, Monica Belluci has joined the cast of the Disney/Bruckheimer movie that stars Nicolas Cage in the leading role. She plays Balthazar Blake, the long lost love of Nic Cage’s character in the film. The film has been shooting in New York City in the Manhatten area as of late.

Those who are not familiar with her, she is a French film actress from Italy. Most of her films she has starred in are mostly French movies, but now that she’s getting more well known, she’s just starting to star in American films. For you Matrix fans, you probably seen her in the “Matrix: Reloaded” and “The Matrix: Revolutions” which she is well known for in the USA. She was also Magdalene in Mel Gibson’s, “The Passion”.In France, her most popular movie there is a French horror film titled, “Brotherhood of the Wolf”.

With a hot and sexy actress like her, she’ll probably cause more car accidents on set. It’ll be hard to drive and pay attention to her at the same time, right?

Report: Johnny Depp in negotiations to play Frank Sinatra?

I guess you can say that Johnny Depp maybe the first choice to play Frank Sinatra in Martin Scorsese’s “Sinatra” biopic. Depp is reportedly in negotiations to play the “I Love New York” singer. Could be just a rumour though.

More on it here:

http://news-briefs.ew.com/2009/05/johnny-depp-top.html

I hope it is true that Johnny Depp will play Sinatra. This could finally give Johnny Depp an Oscar win for “Best Actor in a leading role”. Depp is a decent choice, actually.

Report: Stallone’s “Cliffhanger” greenlighted to be remade for the big screen…

It is mostly known for Hollywood, that they remake all the old classics. Now they are going to start remaking the newer films in the 90’s.

StudioCanal has greenlighted to remake the popular and hit Stallone movie, “Cliffhanger”. The film starred Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker and Janine Turner. The film was directed by Renny Harlin.

This is not just a remake, it will be a reboot into a series of films although the original “Cliffhanger” never made any sequels. There were rumours of Stallone doing a sequel to “Cliffhanger”, I believe this is the rumour they were talking about. Turns out a remake is happening instead of a sequel.

Variety Reports:

Geez, I wonder what Sly thinks about this one? Does he like the idea of a remake or does he hate it? I’m sure we’ll hear from him about his thoughts on this soon. Will Sly reprise his role as Gabe Walker? I doubt it, they’re probably gonna go for a younger actor. Maybe a Stallone cameo would be good too.

See the original “Cliffhanger” in it’s entirety here:

“Cliffhanger” is one of my favorite action movies of all times. I hope they do a good job with it.

Top 5 Unmade Music Biopic films that need to get made…

This post is about bands/artists that I think that deserve their own biopic film…

top 5 here…

1. Led Zeppelin

(I think a Led Zeppelin biopic film would be interesting if made with the right story, picked by the right actors and good film making. It’ll be interesting to see how a Led Zep movie would show how the band got together, I think a Led Zep biopic would work…)

2. Jimi Hendrix

(There was already one made for TV, there are rumours of a Jimi Hendrix biopic in the works for the big screen with Quentin Tarantino slated to direct and Lenny Kravitz set to play Hendrix, haven’t heard any news since then so it could be just a rumour…)

3. Bob Marley

(There is one in the works now, Martin Scorsese used to be attached to direct but pulled out due to scheduling conflicts, I remember. A Marley biopic would be great, bring it on!)

4. Ozzy

(An Ozzy biopic would be awesome, but if Hollywood is going to do one on Ozzy Osbourne, I think it would be appropriate if they focus on his darker life. Not his happy family lifestyle. An Ozzy biopic must focus on the music of Black Sabbath and his solo career. It must focus on his hard times in the past with drugs, alcohol, etc. It would be a powerful biopic if made right. Just leave Ozzy’s family out of it.)

5. Dimebag Darrell of Pantera/Damageplan

(A Dimebag biopic with another actor playing him would be an interesting story. It could be about from his childhood all the way up to his death at the Damageplan concert where he was murdered on stage. I think Hollywood should make a Dimebag biopic film. It would be pretty controversial if they made one and I think it would be a box office success.)

Report: Frank Sinatra biopic greenlighted, Martin Scorsese to direct!!!

Universal Pictures has greenlighted to bring Frank Sinatra his own biopic film to the big screen. Universal has acquired the rights to “Sinatra” script written by “Field of Dreams” writer, Phil Alden. Who is the director of this film? It’s no one other than the legendary and Oscar winning director, Martin Scorsese.

An actor has not yet been casted for the legendary Frank Sinatra.

Billboard reports:

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/scorsese-to-direct-frank-sinatra-biopic-1003972860.story

Lets hope Martin picks the right choice of an actor to play Sinatra. If you know what Sinatra looks like (see pic above), what Hollywood actor is a Frank Sinatra look alike?

I’d say he reminds me of Kevin Spacey or Billy Bob Thornton, they might be decent choices to play the old Frank Sinatra. As for who to play the young Sinatra as he’s growing up, I would think he’d go for Leo Dicaprio on that one.

I don’t care for Leo Dicaprio that much but I wouldn’t be surprised if Martin got Leo to play the young Frank.

We don’t know if Martin will have one actor to play Frank Sinatra all the way through the movie or have different ones play Frank as he’s getting older? I’ll be on the lookout for more news in the future.

Yeah, this looks like to be another Oscar nod for Martin Scorsese.

BREAKING NEWS: Nicole Kidman drops out of Woody Allen film…

Actress Nicole Kidman was attached to star in Woody Allen’s next untitled film, but not anymore. Nicole has pulled out of the film with this article not explaining any reason why. There will be a replacement for her character though.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=cannes2007&jump=story&articleid=VR1118003504&cs=1

I’m sure Nicole herself will explain why she pulled out soon once this news hits the web hard enough. Maybe she’s finally being careful on choosing her movies. She probably figures this film could be a bomber and she doesn’t want to fail in anymore films like she has done so many times in the past.

Report: “Star Trek” writer hints Khan maybe the next villain for sequel…

At MTV News there maybe a possibility that Khan could return as the main villain for the sequel of the new “Star Trek” but played by a different actor since Ricardo Montalban passed away in real life.

See it here:

http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2009/05/12/who-should-play-khan-in-a-new-star-trek-mtv-news-plays-casting-director-for-the-next-film/

Bringing Khan back played by a younger actor is a great idea, in my opinion. If Heath Ledger was still alive, he would be my first choice to play the new and young Khan. Since Heath is no longer with us obviously, my picks to play a young Khan is either Johnny Depp, Daniel Craig, Cillian Murphy, and Robert Downey Jr. maybe?

Liam Neeson’s “Taken” out on DVD/Blu Ray NOW!!!

Liam Neeson’s excellent action flick, “Taken” is out on DVD/Blu Ray today. I think I’m going to go grab a copy of the DVD from Kmart after work tonight. This is a really good action movie and I would suggest you buy or rent this movie too.

Over mother’s day weekend, I picked up a brand new home theater system, a Samsung brand, which sounds really amazing. I officially have my own home theater. Flat screen 32″ LCD TV, and a home theater surround sound. It almost makes me never want to go to the theaters at the mall and just wait for all the movies to come out on DVD now, I don’t know yet.

The home theater surround sound is much louder than the movie theaters at the malls. When you watch action movies, it makes the gun shots and explosion scenes so loud, you can feel the floor vibrate, it’s fuckin’ awesome!

I can’t wait to watch “Taken” on my new surround sound system.

Why didn’t I start a Blu Ray collection yet? I don’t think I ever will. I think I’m going to stick with DVD. There really is no difference between the two anyway. Blu Ray just makes the sound and picture a little bit better, that’s all. I’ll start a Blu Ray collection when the prices go down and when DVD stops selling in the market for good which this won’t happen for a really long while.
