BREAKING NEWS: Disney NOT making third Narnia film “The Voyage of Dawn Treader”!!!

Walt Disney has announced they will not make the third Chronicles of Narnia film “The Voyage of Dawn Treader”. Disney would not get into details as to why they aren’t filming the next film, but they briefly said it had something to do with budgeting and logistical reasons. They were going to start filming in the Spring and hopefully get a May 2010 release but those plans have been cancelled.

Disney made the first two Narnia films “The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe” and “Prince Caspian”. Walden Media, who owns the rights to the Narnia series, hope to find a new film company to make the films with. It is most likely Twentieth Century Fox will take over.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

Kind of shame Disney is parting ways. I loved “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Prince Caspian” very much both are amazing movies.

It is still kind of exciting that Disney is no longer making the movies though, think about it. That means more violence, and more blood, they can make the next Narnia movie more adult oriented, than family friendly. Kind of like a Lord of the Rings thing.

If another film company picks up the series to take over, hopefully they stay true to the first two films by having the same cast and same style of filming.

Report: Stallone to reunite with Sandra Bullock for “The Expendables”???

Oh my!!! Sly is not only reuniting with Dolph Lundgren, Sly may also be reuniting with Sandra Bullock for “The Expendables” also!!! As you know, Sly and Sandra Bullock starred alongside each other in the sci-fi action adventure “Demolition Man”. Sly is now after Sandra to play one of the female leads for “Expendables”.

So far Sly has Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Forrest Whitaker and Juliana Paes. There is still more characters for Sly’s mercernaries group in the film, so Sly is still not done signing big names yet.

More on it here:

See this article here on Expendables Characters:

If Sly can actually sign Arnold Schwarzenegger to the film, lets hope our dream of Sly and Arny teaming up would come true. It’s possible Sly is after Arny for the movie, because those two guys have been spending a lot of time together lately, so that’s pretty questionable. Crosses fingers that Arny will be “Expendable” too!!!

Report: Juliana Paes, a brazilian actress lands the female lead in Stallone’s “The Expendables”…

Look like Sylvester Stallone just found his female lead for his upcoming new action flick “The Expendables”. Stallone signed brazilian actress, Juliana Paes, as his female sidekick. She’s been in many soap operas in Brazil and she’s very famous there, Sly has always been known to give unknown actors/actresses a shot.

This news was exclusively reported at “The Stallone Zone”, a fan site message board, so it could be just a rumour, as there is no real official source. Maybe Sly himself will speak out on this soon to tell us if it’s true, that Juliana has been signed as the female lead. I hope it is true because she is pretty smoking.

Report: Mystery character for “Terminator: Salvation”???

McG, the director of the new Terminator film “Terminator: Salvation” announced there is a mystery character called the T-RIP, as a mystery name as of now.

A new set of merchandise of 5 characters will be released, merchandise of the young Kyle Reese, Blair Williams, the T-600, and Marcus Wright. In the link below, there is a fifth character but it is blacked out for you to figure out. It is a mystery character in “Terminator: Salvation” that McG is not revealing until May 6th. It was immediately speculated that it could be Arnold or John Connor as a Terminator but McG said no to both of them.

See it here:

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news08/081222d.php

Hmmmm, carefully looking at the blacked out picture, it is obviously a shape of a Terminator machine. Looking at the name “T-RIP”, it is obviously a Terminator from the earlier 3 Terminator films. If you look at the right arm, it is halfway torn off. Does this fifth Terminator rings a bell yet?

Could it be the T-800 from the first Terminator film? The original machine that Arnold once played? No, because McG denied anything that has to do with Arnold. My other guess it could be the Robert Patrick – Liquid Terminator, the T-1000.

“To Kill A Mockingbird” director, Robert Mulligan, passed away of heart disease at his Connecticut home, he was 83. He also directed the “Summer of 42” and many other films. His last film before he quit directing movies was “The Man In the Moon” that starred the young Reese Witherspoon, that film is about a fourteen year old girl falling in love with an older boy.

Poll: Which Holiday release film will you see this week?

There’s a bunch of movies being released Christmas day. I will definitely be going to the movies on Christmas weekend but not on Christmas day of course.

Which one will I see?

There are two of them coming out this week that I’m anticipated to see in theater. One of them is “Valkyrie” and the other one is “The Spirit”. I’ll probably see “Valkyrie” first but the only problem is, I don’t think that film will be playing in the Wilton Mall so I may see if I can go to Crossgates in Albany to see it. “Valkyrie” looks really good and it’s getting good reviews.

The other films on the poll look entertaining too, I will wait for DVD on “Bedtime Stories”, “Benjamin Button” and “Marley and Me”.

If you plan to see a movie in theater that’s already out and not on the list, click on “Other”, and name the movie. I also want to see “The Day the Earth Stood Still” in theater not only because it looks like a great movie, but only because it has Friday Night Lights, Kyle Chandler in the movie. He must be filming that movie while FNL TV show was on hiatus.

Looking forward to see what film breaks no. 1 in the box office, it’ll probably end up being “Bedtime Stories” ’cause it’s Disney and it has Adam Sandler in it.

I will see “Valkyrie” this weekend. Hopefully the day after Christmas.

Former Star Trek cast mates who worked with Majel Barrett Roddenberry in the past before, pay their respects to the first lady of Star Trek. The cast mates that mourn the great Majel are Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, George Takei, Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi), Will Wheaton, and more.

Such a huge loss in the Star Trek community. As a huge Star Trek junkie myself, I’m sad of her death too.

I remember when Deforest Kelly died in 1999, and he is still missed as well. I think Deforest would be proud of JJ’s new “Star Trek” film.

Report: “Judge Dredd” greenlit to return to the big screen…

Rebellion and 2000 A.D. film companies announced they had greenlit “Judge Dredd” to return to the big screen. They will work with DNA films who brought us “Sunshine” and “28 Days Later”. They can’t give out any more details of the plot, cast, etc. but they seem really excited to bring this comic book superhero back to the big screen.

Judge Dredd made his first live action debut to the big screen in 1995, the character played by Sylvester Stallone. The movie also starred Rob Schneider, Max Von Sydow, and Diane Lane. There is no word on who will play the Judge Dredd role.

No word if Sylvester Stallone will reprise that character again, but he has said in interviews on AintItCool that he would love to go back to that character one day to make it a better movie, but who knows, never say never on Sly returning as Judge Dredd, right? May all the rumours all over the web of Sly returning as the character begin!!!

More on it here:

Even if Sly doesn’t come back as Judge Dredd, it’s great news that the film is coming back for a better movie. I thought Sly made a great Judge Dredd, but his movie could have been made better. Judge Dredd is a superhero character that deserves a better movie.
