Report: Harrison Ford set to star in JJ Abrams comedy titled, “Morning Glory”…

Not too long ago, MTV News reported that Harrison Ford hinted, he will work on a comedy with JJ Abrams. Here are the details. The film is simply titled, “Morning Glory”, the film will be directed by Roger Michell. The film is produced by JJ Abrams film company, Bad Robot.

Aline Brosh McKenna wrote the script, she is also the writer for the movie, “The Devil Wears Prada”. This film will be made through Paramount Pictures, the same studio where Ford last worked on “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”.

Actress Rachel McAdams is set to star alongside Ford in “Morning Glory”.

Rachel plays an aspiring news reporter who tries to save a failing morning show by getting control of it’s feuding anchors. Ford is set to play one of those anchors she is feuding with.

Will there be jokes making fun of Indiana Jones or Han Solo for laughs in this film? I hope not. Leave Harrison’s other characters out of this film.

Seems like everytime Harrison tries to do a comedy, it fails in the box office. This one can be a hit if done right and hope they do make it a funny one.

Report: Cheech and Chong still smokin’ for a new movie but it will be animated…

Since Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong buried the hatchet, reunited and now touring comedy shows all over the world, they had announced they will team up with Big Vision Entertainment to make an animated film about these two stoned comedians. Of course, Cheech and Tommy will do the voice overs.

The name of the movie will be “Cheech and Chong’s Smokin’ Animated Movie”, it will simply be about using scenes from their past live action films, making them animated versions, it will be a library of their past 6 films.

This looks to be a direct-to-DVD release, not a big screen release.

Confirmed: Rob Zombie WILL direct “Halloween” sequel simply titled “H2″…

Yes, Rob Zombie has inked a deal with Dimension films that he is returning to direct the “Halloween” sequel. The next “Halloween” film will simply be titled “H2”, yes that’s it. With the letter “H” and “2” both together, making it “H2”, the next movie title. Rob Zombie will write and direct, “H2” ,just like he did with the first movie. Filming will begin in March and they hope to get an October release date of 2009.

The new film will leave off right where the first movie ended except the sequel “H2” will NOT be a remake of  1981’s “Halloween 2” which also starred Jamie Lee Curtis. In “Halloween 2” it was mostly taken place in a hospital, Rob Zombie’s version of the sequel will be a totally different story. This article doesn’t give anymore details on the plot though.

No word if Tyler Mane will return as the fictional serial killer, Michael Myers, he probably will.

You can also see a teaser poster that Dimension already made for the film here at Variety:

This is fantastic news!!! I’m so happy that Rob Zombie is on board for the sequel!!! YES!!!

Congrats to Rob. He had quite a career ride in the film business. He worked very hard to get into the movie business and now he is a big name film director thanks to “Halloween”.

Remember, Rob Zombie fought hard to get “House of 1,000 Corpses” a big screen release but no studio wanted to buy it off him because of it’s graphic content, but Lionsgate finally bought the movie off Rob and released it nationwide, the film became a hit. Then he released “The Devils Rejects” which also became a hit.

I’m looking forward to the sequel. I also hope Malcolm Macdowell will return as Dr. Loomis and I’m sure he will.

Confirmed: “New Moon” to be released Nov. 20th, 2009…

Summit Entertaintment already confirmed a release date to “New Moon” which will be directed by Chris Weitz, Melissa Rosenberg wrote the script. The film is confirmed for a release date of Nov. 20th. Due to no new “Harry Potter” film being released around Thanksgiving in 2009, this gave “New Moon” the opportunity to get another November date again as they did with the first movie, “Twilight”, was released November 21st earlier this year.

Hopefully the Nov. 20th, 2009 date is set in stone, because it’s possible there could be push backs if Chris Weitz doesn’t finish the movie in time. I hope Chris does a good job with it, I hope he stays true to the novel ’cause I feel that “New Moon” is better than the first. If you read the book, “New Moon”, it stays away from the romance, so there will be more thrills and chills in the next one. “New Moon” will be more violent too. Will it get a PG-13 rating because of it? Who knows.

Cool Video: See the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” trailer here…

I’ve had mixed feelings on the upcoming new “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” movie, a spin off movie from the X-Men series where Wolverine gets his own movie, played by Hugh Jackman.

Anyhow, this film comes out May 1st, just a few months after the Oscars in Feb. Now you see exactly why the Oscars wanted Jackman as the host. 🙂

The movie “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” looks pretty fuckin’ sweet. I absolutely loved the trailer!!! The movie looks promising. I’ve had worries that the film would suck, but after seeing the trailer here, I love what I see here so far. I’ll definitely see this in May too.

I love Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and I love the X-Men series. So this film here is going to be great with just Wolverine alone and not the other X-Men characters.

“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” looks to me it’s the beginning of the character of how he first turned into a mutant.

Enjoy it here:

Report: J.J. Abrams says that Leonard Nimoy as the adult Spock in “Star Trek” is no cameo…

If you read this interview with J.J. Abrams about the new “Star Trek” movie, he confirms that Leonard Nimoy playing the adult Spock is no cameo. You will get the adult Spock pretty much throughout the entire movie.

My guess is that the adult Spock is the narrator of the story, he’s telling the story of the younger cast.

Read the interview with JJ Abrams here:

http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1601281/story.jhtml

Very cool. I’m happy to hear that Leonard as Spock is not a tiny role, and glad he is the lead.

Will JJ give the adult Captain Kirk a tribute in the film where Spock is visiting Kirk’s gravesite? I hope JJ does.

Keep in mind that both “Terminator Salvation” and “Star Trek” are both being released on the same weekend in May. “Star Trek” is being released May 8th and “Terminator Salvation” is being released May 9th.

Oh my, talk about a huge competition in the box office.  Now I can see why “Terminator” and “Star Trek” don’t want to release on the same day ’cause of the box office thing. “Terminator” is being released on a Saturday and it’s very rare that movies get released that day.

That May weekend is a bad time to release “Star Trek” ’cause I have a feeling “Terminator” will destroy “Star Trek” in the box office anyways, but we’ll wait and see.

I will see both of those movies, of course.

Report: McG already planning “Terminator 5″…

When just completing “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins” (or Terminator 4), McG just announced he is already planning a 5th one.

Read more on it here:

Also, see the new “Terminator: Salvation” trailer with a lot more film footage, the film actually looks pretty fuckin’ sweet, and I’m definitely seeing it in May.

See the new trailer here:

http://rss.warnerbros.com/terminatorsalvation/2008/12/terminator_salvation_new_trail.html

Look like McG is directing a new Terminator trilogy, he’ll probably do Terminator 6 as well to complete the series.

The question is, will Arnold be willing to return as the lead in Terminator 5 since he’ll be done being governor by then? Crosses fingers.

Confirmed: Chris Weitz to direct “New Moon”…official…

“The Golden Compass” director, Chris Weitz, has signed with Summit Entertainment to direct “New Moon”, the sequel to “Twilight”. This means it is official. He is the next director, replacing Catherine Hardwicke.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117997358.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

I have mixed feelings about this, I don’t like the director choice. I do like the idea of a man directing the next Twilight movie though, I wish Summit would take their time, finding the right director. “The Golden Compass” was a terrible failure and that film didn’t look good at all. Weitz will probably fuck up “New Moon” too. I hope he makes the sequel better than the first but I doubt it.

Report: Stephen King picks his top ten best films of 2008!!!

Stephen King, the master of horror, has picked his top ten favorite films of 2008. When it comes to Stephen King, you would expect him to see nothing but horror films. Not true, in his list, you would see a variety of genres from action flicks, drama, family films, etc. He seems to be a big fan of Jason Statham, because he listed two Statham flicks in there.

It’s not surprising that he picked “The Dark Knight” as no 1. I agree with him, the movie is not only good just for Heath Ledger’s performance alone, the entire movie itself is a masterpiece.

Stephen King just released “Just After Sunset” novel in bookstores everywhere.

See his list here:
