James Wan to direct “Aquaman” movie for DC/Warner Bros…

James Wan is mostly famous as a horror film director but look like he’s finally getting tired of horror films and wants to do different genres. He has directed a few action movies in his career with action films such as “Death Sentence” starring Kevin Bacon and he just directed “Fast & Furious 7”. Now he’s set to direct another action film which is gonna be the “Aquaman” which will star Jason Momoa in the leading role.

You can expect the “Aquaman” live-action movie to be full of water all over so there’s gonna be a lot of underwater scenes and above water scenes. That’s because I believe that Aquaman can only survive in water, I think he can survive outside of water but not for long. I don’t know much about Aquaman but I’m just doing a little googling on the character. He does have super strength and he can control all sea life meaning that he can control all sea animals like fish, sharks, whales, etc.

So I think this is gonna be an interesting movie and looking forward to seeing how James is gonna pull it off. Expect the movie to be full of CGI, though.

Yes, a “Big Trouble In Little China” remake is coming and Dwayne Johnson is the new Jack Burton!!!

Some interesting movie news just came out today that Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock is in negotiations to star as the new Jack Burton in the “Big Trouble In Little China” remake. I’m sure many of you have seen the 1986 original with Kurt Russell in the leading role and the original was directed by the legendary, John Carpenter!

http://variety.com/2015/film/news/dwayne-johnson-big-trouble-in-little-china-remake-cast-1201509737/

“Big Trouble In Little China” is one of my favorite films and would make an interesting remake. This film deserves an updated version, taken place in our present time.

Some of you may go, “Oh no, not another remake”. Don’t worry. Knowing how strict John Carpenter is about remakes, he won’t allow the “Big Trouble” remake to make it exactly like his version at all. I remember when Rob Zombie asked Carpenter that he wanted to remake the first “Halloween”, Carpenter was all cool with it as long as he made it a different film and not make it exactly like Carpenter’s. I would think Carpenter would want the same for this remake.

I like the Rock as an action star. I’m interested on how they’re gonna pull this remake off.

Finally saw the film, “Fruitvale Station” last night… it was pretty good! Could have been better…

Late last night on Netflix, I finally saw the film “Fruitvale Station”. A film based on the killing of Oscar Grant which was caused by police brutality at a train station in California at the Fruitvale BART station.

The film was an interesting concept. It had an interesting idea but the casting and the writing could have been better, though. I didn’t like Michael B. Jordan as Oscar and wish they could have picked a better actor. Plus the film tried so hard to be dramatic and “sad”. As the movie got going, you immediately know that the film was gonna get “sad” at the end so the film was too predictable for the most part. Even if the film was a short 1 hr. and a half, a lot of scenes dragged on too long.

While I do think Ryan Coogler the writer/director nailed the train station scene perfectly, it could have been more dramatic and more powerful. I still didn’t feel anything during that scene.

With that being said, I did like the movie… it could have been better. It does make me want to look into the Oscar Grant story more and I just started googling him after seeing the movie. Watching the real life videos in youtube as you see below.

Netflix just made this movie streamable so if you subscribe to Netflix yourself, this movie is still worth a look. Check it out!

The NY Post slams George Clooney, they proclaim Clooney isn’t a star ’cause most of his movies bombed… I disagree…

Despite most of his films being box office failures, Clooney is still the most recognizable star and he’s an icon. Probably because he rose to fame and became well-known for the drama TV-show “ER” in which he became famous for. I’m pretty sure Clooney is still getting big paychecks from that show so I’m sure he doesn’t care whether his movies flop or not. Maybe Clooney is not worried about the money when acting? He does acting for a living ’cause maybe he enjoys it and it’s his passion?

I’m not a big fan of Clooney’s liberal politics and all that but I won’t deny that he has some good films. Some of my favorites that he did in his career were: “Gravity”, the Oceans trilogy, “Fantastic Mr. Fox”, “O Brother, Where Art Thou”, “Solaris”, “Michael Clayton” and that war film, “The Thin Red Line”. Yeah, most of Clooney’s movies weren’t good but he does have some good ones.

There were a lot of other actors who had most of their movies flopped like Sly Stallone for one but he’s still the most recognizable star. The same goes for Eddie Murphy, Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman. Most of their movies flopped too but they are still a “star”.

Don’t listen to the NY Post ’cause they are just being “opinionated”.

I just believe these actors don’t care about the money. Like I said, they’re in Hollywood ’cause they enjoy the passion of acting and that’s what they do it for. Maybe they don’t see it as a job and they just wanna be a part of Hollywood? They just wanna act in movies and have fun. Not caring whether or not their movies are a hit.

On top of that, just because an actor/actress has most of their films flopped in the box office, doesn’t necessarily mean they are untalented. It doesn’t necessarily mean they continue to make movies no one wants to see and it doesn’t mean their movies suck either. I’ve seen some amazing movies even though they didn’t sell well in the box office.

That article is all a crock of shit.

The “Saw” series is the best horror franchise out there, I hope there will be a part 8…

I just watched all 7 “Saw” films just recently on BluRay and WOW!!!!!!!!!! I’m fuckin’ blown away with all of them! Loved every film! I think “Saw” is easily the best horror franchise around but is “Saw 7” seriously the last one? I sure hope not! I think I’ve read somewhere that Lionsgate studios is planning a Saw 8 so I hope it’s true. They should keep these series going.

The reason I was impressed with these series ’cause they are so different than any other horror franchise out there. We have “Friday the 13th”, “Halloween”, the Chucky Movies, the Freddy movies, etc. but they all have the same boring plot and same boring story. Not with the “Saw” movies, though. Each film has a plot and story. I thought the storytelling in the “Saw” movies was pretty intelligent and thought provoking. These movies can get you thinking for sure.

As I was watching these movies, I’ve come to a realization that Jigsaw (or John Kramer played by the great Tobin Bell) is more of a hero than a villain, in my opinion. How? Well, Jigsaw only took down those who were bad people. He took down criminals, drug dealers, rapists and all that stuff. He also took down those who doesn’t appreciate life, doesn’t deserve a life. As the films get going, you would learn more about John Kramer in the sequels. You would learn why he started the Jigsaw games. I don’t wanna spoil things to you but lets just say that John Kramer was a broken down guy who was upset about something. It had something to do with his wife. The stories had all kinds of twists and turns and shockers.

Jigsaw is also the king of movie quotes. He said some pretty epic quotes such as “Live or die, make your choice”, “Let the game begin”, “Hello (name here), I want to play a game”, etc.

I hope they keep these movies going. I don’t want remakes or reboots ’cause that would destroy this franchise. Could they bring John Kramer back somehow? Keep in mind, this is horror so I’m sure there’s always a way to figure out a way to bring Kramer back for one more movie.

Tobin Bell is a phenomenal actor though. Now I understand why these movies are so popular and most of them did well in the box office too. I’ve always been a big fan of Cary Elwes, he’s been a favorite actor of mine for a pretty long time. While all 7 movies are great, the first one with Cary and Danny Glover will always be a classic! I’m glad I finally got around to seeing the rest of them.

Film Review: “Mad Max: Fury Road”

Starring: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron

Directed by: George Miller

So today, I went to the movies to check out the new Mad Max movie and here is my review:

Plot/Synopsis: An apocalyptic story set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and almost everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order. There’s Max, a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And Furiosa, a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.

“Mad Max: Fury Road” was just okay but nothing all that great. I didn’t like Tom Hardy as Mad Max. I prefered Mel Gibson back in the role ’cause the film would have been so much better if Mel was in it. Tom as Max was kind of boring. He didn’t speak that many lines but when he did, he would talk in a deep growling voice. That’s not how Max was in the previous films with Mel.

Some people would accuse Mel Gibson of being too old for these kind of movies but no. In case you haven’t noticed, Mel Gibson is still playing in violent action movies so I’m sure he can handle it well.

The story didn’t have much of a plot and some of the villains were kind of silly. The action scenes were a blast to watch, though, don’t get me wrong. The action scenes were pretty much the only good thing about the film. The film is no “masterpiece” like many are saying, though. I did like Charlize Theron’s role in it too.

While the film got some controversy out of it… some accused the film of being too “feminist” but I didn’t think so.

I’m sure there will be better action movies coming out later this year like “Terminator: Genisys”, “Spectre”, “Mission Impossible V”, “Star Wars 7”, etc.

“Mad Max: Fury Road” was just okay. Could have been better. I’ll give it a 2 out of 5 as in “okay”.

Am I the only one who thought “Birdman” with Michael Keaton was a horrible film???

I finally got around to watching “Birdman” with Michael Keaton since everyone is talking about it and raving about it but I hope I’m not the only one who hated it. Of course, the only good thing about it was Michael Keaton’s acting ’cause that’s his best acting role in many years but the movie, “Birdman or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance” was a very boring film and had no plot. I don’t get why people liked it so much and don’t understand why it won “Best Picture” at the Oscars last year. I think all that jazz drumming pretty much did it for me… that drumming was pretty annoying. The casting was good… I like Edward Norton and Emma Stone but the film was over acted and too much dialogue. I thought the film was disappointing and thought it was one of the worst films of last year. No offense to those who like it. Just my opinion and sticking with it.

Kate Beckinsale to reprise her role as Selene for “Underworld 5″…

It’s great news that Underworld 5 is on the way. I’m a huge fan of these movies and love the previous 4 even “Rise of the Lycans” was great. I agree with most people that the characters Michael Corvin and Eve should both return. I love the “Underworld” movies ’cause they tell good stories and the action is fun as hell! I don’t like how a lot of horror movies try to mix action and horror together but the Underworld does a great job of that. I’m sure in the next movie we’ll see a lot of action, CGI and 3D effects. I’m a big fan of the Underworld franchise so I’ll be looking forward to the next one for sure! The first “Underworld” movie will always be the best one, though.

Kate Beckinsale Confirmed for Underworld 5!

“Soaked In Bleach” new documentary about Kurt Cobain that Courtney Love is probably mad about…

Will “Soaked In Bleach” finally expose the truth that Kurt was actually murdered and it wasn’t suicide? This movie looks more interesting than “Montage of Heck” the one that Courtney herself released. I’m sure Courtney is getting mad at “Soaked In Bleach” getting released but oh well. Free country. The 1st Amendment is not stopping anyone from getting the truth told.

It is absolutely possible to kill someone and make it look like a suicide. Courtney didn’t kill Kurt herself, no way but I think she hired a hitman. She covered her tracks pretty well. She definitely wasn’t alone on this, though. I think she definitely had some criminal friends and drug addicts help cover for her so she can continue to live her life.

It’s time for the truth to get known. I’m looking forward to seeing this movie.
