Thought: Springsteen, love him or hate him, gotta give the man respect!!!

I know Bruce Springsteen isn’t everyone’s favorite musician and songwriter, but whether you like him or not, you gotta give him the respect he deserves. I know he gets accused of being a sell out, a nostalgia has been, and being a terrible singer/songwriter, but you can’t deny that he’s one of the most hardest working musicians you’ve ever seen. That’s a proven fact.

With 16 studio albums in his entire discography, takes a few years breaks in between each album, in between each album, he’ll go on long world tours in support of each album. When just getting back from a really long world tour in support of his album “Magic”, he went straight to the studio to work on “Workin’ On a Dream”.

While doing that, he still never stopped doing what he loved, music. Performing for all these Barack Obama concerts, he’s working hard for a killer Superbowl performance which is this Sunday Feb. 1st. Then after that, he goes on another long world tour in support for his new album “Dream”.

I haven’t bought the album “Dream” yet, but I will probably pick it up when I go to the mall this weekend.

Most legendary rock musicians these days have been slowing down with music, taking a long time to release an album, barely ever going on tour. Springsteen is one of the only rock musicians still doing it. Most legendary musicians have backed down on music. There are only very few legendary musicians that are still doing music full time today like Springsteen, Neil Young, and maybe a few others.

I think all the Springsteen hate through the world of the internets is pretty ridiculous. I think it all comes down to one word: jealousy. Springsteen is out there working hard for his music doing something that he loves for a passion, while people like yourself are sitting at your computers talking hateful shit about Bruce Springsteen.

Why don’t you try picking up an instrument, learning how to play it, get a record deal, make and put out a record, and play to thousands of people in an arena every single night. If you call Springsteen a sell out and a has been musical hack just for doing all that, then you’re definitely jealous of him.

He’s the hardest working musician more than any musician on this planet. Springsteen is the god of music, enough said!!!

It’s been a while since we’ve seen David Bowie out in public, hey? Yeah, that’s David Bowie, the Ziggy Stardust, coming out of hiding after all these years. He’s there at Sundance Festival to attend the premiere of his son’s movie, “Moon”. His son, Duncan Jones, is the director of that film. These photos were taken Jan. 23rd, so these are recent.

You’re looking great David!! Now put out a new record already, Dave!! We all miss you!!

Thought: Bands and musicians who pretend to be famous people/celebrities…

Since there is no interesting news to report on a Sunday, I thought I would post a music topic that I came up with today. I guess I’m pretty bored and Sundays are almost always boring days.

One thing I have noticed about unsigned bands/musicians over the years, is that, I find it amazing to me that so many bands/musicians out there pretending to be famous. Yes, I know many of them know they aren’t “famous” but a lot of them enjoy pretending to be famous.

Examples:

-Bands being obsessed with band photos, making them profesional quality studio portraits for their promo packages, websites, myspace, and stuff like that.

-Bands being obsessed with interviews like for radio, local TV, newspapers, etc.

-Bands playing dress up trying to look like famous rock stars.

-Bands posting “music” news of everything they do musically when they know deep down inside that no one really cares about everything they do in their career.

-The way bands talk to their fans treating them like second class citizens.

Things like that, I can keep going with the list. I used to experiment with that stuff in the past, but then I came to a realization that being an unsigned musician is pretty pointless doing all that stuff.

Why obsess with “local” fame in your area? Do you ever come to realize that “life” comes first before your fantasy music career? That’s what happened with me. Being an  unsigned musician or a local band DOES NOT equal to national fame. Sure, it may be fun to play “rock star”, but to me it’s only a fantasy world that you all are living in. Really think about it.

I understand why all this stuff is you trying to get your music out there and promote yourself but you have to admit that you got to get out of your silly delusions like I have. Accepting reality and knowing that your music and your career is no better than yourself.

I just do music for fun, I don’t take it seriously. Period.

Report: Ac/Dc to perform at Wrestlemania 25?

Linda McMahon, the CEO of the WWE has announced that Ac/Dc is confirmed to perform live at Wrestlemania 25. Yes, Brian Johnson and Angus, and the rest of the boys could be performing there. It’s been said that Vince McMahon himself have been a long time fan of the band.

There’s no word on what song that Ac/Dc will use as the Wrestlemania 25 theme song but it will obviously be a song off the new album, “Black Ice”.

Report: Why Springsteen got robbed for “The Wrestler” in the Oscars? Here’s why…

In order for a song from a film be eligible for a nomination for “Best Song” category, a total of 8.25 up to 10 votes by the Academy branch must be made by the voters. Sadily, Bruce’s song only got a total of 8 votes of everyone voting. Since Bruce’s song ,”The Wrestler”, didn’t make 8.25 to 10 votes, it’s the only reason it didn’t get in.

That is also the reason the “Original Song” category only nominated three songs, because those three songs were the only ones that got between 8.25 to 10 votes.

Like the article said, Bruce is already an Oscar winner for winning an Oscar for “Streets of Philadelphia”, and he already won a Golden Globe for “The Wrestler”, he would think that’s good enough for him.

Fuck the Oscars, Bruce. Your music career is way more important than a golden statue. The Superbowl performance is all he needs to complete his legendary career.

Report: Miley Cyrus an Iron Maiden fan? Here are my thoughts!!

First half naked pics of Miley Cyrus being leaked to the web, then she posed naked with a blanket wrapped around her for a magazine cover, and here is the next Miley Cyrus controversy over a photo.

The pic above is Miley Cyrus, sporting a metal chick look. She’s wearing an Iron Maiden shirt, looking like a metal chick big time when everyone knows she’s a pop star. Everyone is trying to speculate whether or not she’s a big Iron Maiden fan that she claims in the video where she’s naming her favorite Maiden tunes.

Here are my thoughts on this whole thing. While I know that Miley Cyrus is getting harsh comments by Miley haters about this, I’m no Miley fan, but I’ll have a heart and be positive about this one.

Here’s the deal…whether she’s an Iron Maiden fan or not, this is great publicity for the band themselves. As long as this shit is creating controversy on the web, the band Iron Maiden would think that Miley wearing a t-shirt of theirs is a freakin’ cool thing, man. Seriously.

If I was in one of the biggest rock bands in the world, and if I saw Miley wearing one of my t-shirts, I’d be like, “Woah, cool”. That is Hannah Montana wearing my band shirt! Iron Maiden is probably thinking the same thing. Bruce Dickinson and the rest of the boys in the band are probably loving all this.

I mean fuck man, this is fuckin’ Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana of the Disney fame. Iron Maiden probably never realized they were this huge in the music world until they saw Miley wearing a shirt of theirs.

I’m sure everybody wears music t-shirts that I’m sure you’re not even a fan of, I have a Sting and Eminem t-shirts, I’m not a fan of either of them but sometimes I wear those shirts just for something to wear.

Those that hate on Miley for this, are probably childish people who have nothing better to do but hate on everything. Finally, a good photo of Miley hitting the web that is something not sexual and actually music related!!! Gotta give her credit for this one! Right? 🙂

Oh my!!! What isn’t fake in this world! Pretty much everything if I must say. You think that rap artists, pop stars, and even rock bands fake their talent, by fake playing their instruments and lip synching? Now you can add classical composers to that list.

Yo Yo Ma’s quartet admits to faking their performance at the Barack Obama inauguration, they use the “freezing cold” as an excuse.

They sure are lying when they say something about the “freezing cold” to make a silly excuse, it’s just a cover up that they know they can’t play for shit. They couldn’t pass up the big opportunity to perform in Washington D.C. to be part of history. It isn’t history when you’re faking something.

Yet another reason to call the Obama Inauguration a complete joke.
