Happy with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees with the exception of…

… Green Day making it instead of NIN. Really???? Look like NIN got snubbed this year when they had a pretty good chance in making it.

I’m happy with Lou Reed solo making it in ’cause I’m a huge Lou Reed fan. I’m happy that Joan Jett & The Blackhearts making it in ’cause I’ve always been a fan of Joan’s music. I still need to get Joan’s music for my Ipod/Itunes… I’ll probably just get a Greatest Hits album of hers soon. I’m happy that SRV finally made it in which is long overdue. I’m happy that Ringo Starr finally made it in. The other three Beatles: Paul, John and George made it in with their solo careers but Ringo is the last Beatle finally getting his chance.

I haven’t even heard of the other acts, though… I don’t know who Paul Butterfield, Bill Withers and the 5 Royals are, though.

See the new inductees here:

https://rockhall.com/inductees/

I feel that Green Day doesn’t deserve it. I used to be a fan of the band back in the early 90’s and early 2000’s but I don’t like them anymore, though. Green Day is a bit overrated.

There are still a large number of rock acts that are deserving of an induction, though. Hopefully Deep Purple will finally get their time next year ’cause they are long overdue as well. Other rock bands/artists who deserve an induction that haven’t yet… a top 10: 1) Deep Purple 2) Jethro Tull 3) Ted Nugent 4) Billy Idol 5) Iron Maiden 6) Megadeth 7) Slayer 8) The Scorpions 9) U.F.O. 10) Phish

Yeah, I named Phish but love ’em or hate ’em… they are eligible and they are successful/legendary. Phish deserves an induction.

You’ve probably never heard of the band U.F.O. but they are a legendary UK band that made guitarist, Michael Schenker famous. You probably know them by their songs: “Rock Bottom”, “Lights Out” and “Doctor, Doctor”.

35 Years Ago Today, The Clash’s “London Calling” was released…

35 years ago today, one of my favorite records of all time was released. The Clash, “London Calling”. Yes, I really do love this album to death. I love every song. Can listen to it all day long and never get tired of it.

Even if I love every song on the album, the tracks below are my most favorite! Joe Strummer was fucking great, RIP btw.

Scott Stapp quick into squashing latest rumors, singer releases new statement via facebook…

All those claims made by his wife and his son Jagger saying he’s on drug and alcohol, I think his family is out to destroy him for whatever reason. Look like Scott hasn’t been getting along with his family. We gotta stop believing in his families lies.

See, I told you, Mr. Stapp is fine. He seems like it from the post above. As you read in his statement above, it looks like that Mr. Stapp is about to give us proof on his sobriety and staying clean of drugs. I believe he is clean and healthy and sane. I repeat, you gotta stop believing in his wife’s and son’s lies.

Jaclyn seems like a real bitch and I hope Scott sues her for everything she got and it looks like it’s gonna happen. She’ll probably see Scott in a court room real soon.

I support and believe in Scott ’cause I used to be a fan of Creed. They were a good band, in my opinion.

About Scott Stapp threatening to assassinate Obama thoughts…

As soon as the news hit the web that Scott Stapp is allegedly plotting to kill Obama as claimed by his wife Jaclyn, sure enough, people believed it as something that it is true. I’m reading facebook comments about this story and yes, there are all kinds of Creed jokes about this and Obama haters cheering him on. There are also people claiming that he is mentally ill and needs help.

Why are people so quick in believing this ’cause it’s all over the news???

It could be that Jaclyn is just a stupid bitch, making it up to make him look bad. Maybe Scott is all fine and good. Maybe Jaclyn is just doing whatever it takes to destroy the man. Her and Stapp could have been fighting the day she made that 911 call and she made that 911 call as a revenge kind of thing. If her claims about Scott turns out not to be true then she could be arrested for calling an emergency line.

In my opinion, I think Scott maybe fine… the claim was made up by his bitchy wife. This is how I think this is gonna turn out.

I don’t think Scott would do something that stupid. I don’t think he’s that kind of guy. Anybody that believes her claims is a naive idiot.

Just wait for it, I think Scott’s lawyers will respond to this pretty quickly and they will say that Jaclyn’s claims are bullshit. They’re gonna be quick to squash this. I’m betting your money on it.

Who’s gonna sing the theme for 007 “Spectre”???

In the open title sequence for each Bond film, everybody should know that MGM writes an original song w/ lyrics that has something to do with the title and then they would hire a famous singer to sing the song. Over the years, have been mostly female singers that sung the 007 theme song but sometimes they would get male singers. I remember Chris Cornell of Soundgarden sung the theme song for “Casino Royale”. Madonna already did a theme song, she did the theme for “The World Is Not Enough” and she even had a role in the film too.

It’s been announced by Sam Mendes and MGM that a singer for “Spectre” have already been chosen but nobody’s talking on who it is yet.

http://www.mtv.co.uk/james-bond/news/spectre-theme-song-singer-has-already-been-chosen

I wouldn’t be surprised if the singer is gonna be these 5:

-Lady Gaga/Tony Bennett (with them together)
-Barbara Streisand (she never did a Bond theme yet, surprisingly)
-Katy Perry
-Beyonce
-Rihanna

If they’re gonna go for a male singer, they’d go for Tony Bennett, John Legend, Prince or Bruno Mars.

I’m probably gonna be wrong on all of these but these are pretty good guesses. We’ll soon find out who the singer is gonna be for “Spectre”.

Top 15 Best Music Albums of 2014 is here…

Here is the list… the Top 15 Best Music albums that came out in 2014. I purchased quite a bit of albums this year. I was happy with all my album purchases but these 15 albums is what impressed me the most. These albums are my favorite this year. Enjoy!!!

I’m gonna go backwards in this list starting from 15 – 1. The No. 1 album will be my choice for “Album Of The Year” and you might be surprised of what I would pick for no. 1.

15. Black Label Society – “Catacombs of the Black Vatican”

BLS returned with a new album this year and this is their best album, yet. Zakk Wylde has been one of my favorite guitarists for a long while now and he continues to impress me. I think this is BLS’s best album. It’s pretty tight and has some great songwriting. Zakk at his best. Loved this album and couldn’t stop listening to this one.

14. Animals As Leaders – “The Joy Of Motion”

This is an instrumental prog rock band that has guitarist, Tosin Abasi in the lineup. If you like shred and heavy music, you would probably dig this album. Actually, this album has a wide variety of genres. It has a bit of classical and jazz on it too. I can’t tell what genres are on this album. It’s just an awesome album to listen to. This is one album that I couldn’t stop listening to this year.

13. Royal Blood – self titled

This is a pretty bad ass rock album. Another album I was pretty impressed with. There are no guitars on this album at all even though it sounds like it. It’s all bass and drums. This is a pretty strong rock album. Tight riffs, great vocals and excellent songwriting.

12. Yes – “Heaven & Earth”

So the legendary prog rockers, Yes, came out with a new album this year and it was pretty fucking amazing. The guitar work, keyboards/organs, vocal harmonies, etc. all pretty sick. This band still has it after all these years. You would probably know the band Yes with their song, “Roundabout”. Yes, this band is still together and this album makes me want to start buying the rest of their albums. I’m a huge Steve Howe fan now.

11. Rodrigo Y Gabriela – “9 Dead Alive”

I’ve been a fan of Rodrigo Y Gabriela for a while now, I just haven’t gotten their albums until now. This was a pretty amazing instrumental album. This is not just a typical acoustic album. If you want to hear tight and aggressive acoustic playing, you’ll hear exactly that. These two maybe Mexican but they don’t play mariachi on their acoustics. You’re gonna hear classical, jazz, and rock n’ roll/metal inspired playing all over it. I was blown away with this record, you should definitely give this one a listen.

10. Robert Plant – “Lullaby and the Ceaseless Roar…”

This is Robert’s best solo record, absolutely. I was floored with this album. Robert’s best vocals and the songwriting is just mind blowing. This album I found myself listening to a lot.

9. Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers – “Hypnotic Eye”

Tom Petty is back with a new album this year and he kills it every time. This album was better than his last one, “Mojo”. “Hypnotic Eye” has his catchiest songwriting and the lyrics are pretty deep as well. I listened to this album several times. If you’re a Petty & The Heartbreakers fan like myself, you would definitely dig this one.

8. Billy Idol – “Kings & Queens of the Underground”

I’ve been a huge Billy Idol fan for years. Here he is just released a new album with his long time collaborator, Steve Stevens on the guitar. I think this is Billy’s best solo record. It’s different than anything he’s done in the past. He still has that 80’s dance feel like he always had but there’s something about this album. It’s so damn good. Every song. It has his best singing too.

7. Slash – “World On Fire”

Slash and Myles Kennedy re-teamed together with a new album and they killed it once again. I love Slash’s solo work and he keeps getting better and better every album. If you wanna hear some pretty sick guitar playing, you gotta check this one out. Myles singing is great too. Loved this record!!!

6. Phish – “Fuego”

I’m not ashamed to say that I’m pretty big on Phish and this is their best album in their career, holy shit! What a masterpiece of an album this is. I know this band isn’t for everybody but please, give this album a try. This album should have given this band the respect they deserve. This really was a beautiful album. Trey’s best singing and guitar playing. All the vocal harmonies are wonderful. Another album I couldn’t stop listening to.

5. Iggy Azalea – “The New Classic”

I’m probably gonna get some flak for this but I don’t care. This is my list, I put whatever I want on it. Yeah, I put Iggy pretty high up there ’cause this is a pretty fuckin’ killer album and not ashamed to say it. This is coming from somebody who isn’t into rap & pop music much. I honestly LOVED this record and listened to it too many times this year. It’s awesome and fun to listen to. Finally, some good pop music!!!

4. Johnny Cash – “Out Among The Stars”

Couldn’t leave Johnny Cash off of this. Johnny’s son discovered a long lost Johnny Cash album and he decided to release it this year. This album was made in the early 80’s, I think and it was never released until now. It has a few songs with June Carter on backup vocals. This is a beautiful album and was blown away by it. Doesn’t surprise me ’cause he’s Johnny Cash. ALL of his music is great!!!

3. Foo Fighters – “Sonic Highways”

Wow!!! What a fuckin’ sick album!!! It doesn’t surprise me that the Foo’s would release another sick album. I think this is their best album in their career. Even though this album has about 7 songs on it, I was blown away with every song. The Foo’s are still killing it! Great job, Dave!!!

2. Slipknot – “The Gray Chapter”

Man oh man, this is one of the best metal records I’ve heard in years. It really was a strong and tight as hell album. I loved every song on it. The studio quality on this record is just amazing and the guitar sounds are like out of this world. This album is a masterpiece and will go down in history as one of the most important albums in metal. It really was a great record and it made me a Slipknot fan now. I really wanna get their previous albums. They’re not for everyone but if you like heavy music, you would dig this album. This album has some of the best guitar playing and the songwriting itself is great.

1. Sharon Van Etten – “Are We There”

I’m a huge fuckin’ fan of Sharon Van Etten. I love her music to death. She came out with a new album this year and I was blown away with this record. This is another masterpiece. I love every song on it. Another album I couldn’t stop listening to all year. Yep, so Sharon’s “Are We There” is my choice for “Album of The Year”. Sharon’s best songwriting and singing, in my opinion. I listened to this album like over 20 times this year. Her singing and deep lyrics gets me every time. Her songs give me goosebumps every time. You should definitely buy this album and check it out yourself.

That’s it. Enjoy!!!

RIP, John Lennon!!!

34 years ago today, we lost one of the Beatles and that is none other than, John Lennon. John and Yoko were returning to their NYC apartment where they were staying and John was shot by Mark David Chapman as the couple was just entering the building. John was rushed to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead later on.

Like most, I’m a pretty big Beatles fan. I have most of their records and trying to collect them all. I’m also a huge fan of John’s solo stuff as well.

Kev

RIP Dimebag Darrell!!!

10 years ago today, we lost one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time, Dimebag Darrell. Dimebag was shot three times while performing onstage with his band, Damageplan.

I love Pantera myself. I only have a few of their albums in my CD collection but I should get more of their music. Dime was a genius guitar player and he was a sad loss in the music industry.
