“Weird Al” getting a lot of negativity and criticism for Superbowl Halftime performance…

While “Weird Al” is getting a lot of fans petitioning for him to perform at the next Superbowl Halftime show on Feb. 2nd — at the same time, he is predictably getting a lot of negative criticism. Most fans want him to perform the next Superbowl but sure enough, there’s gonna be some that don’t want him there. I’m sure you’ve seen some criticism about it in facebook and I did too. Some people threatened that if they get him they won’t be watching the Halftime show.

Look, I know Weird Al’s music isn’t for everybody. He’s another one of those love or hate artists. In my opinion, I believe some can’t appreciate Weird Al because they find it a bit weird and creepy to see a full grown adult doing parodies of other people’s music. That’s the whole point. Al Yankovic is supposed to be weird and creepy. That’s part of what makes him a comic genius. Some even mistakenly believe that Weird Al is for kids. Not true. Most of Weird Al’s fans are MOSTLY full grown adults from 30 – 50’s. The demographics of Al’s fans varies. Yeah, he has children who love his music but grown ups like him too.

Why is Al Yankovic so huge and popular? I think it’s because Al is the only comedic musician. People look after him ’cause simply put, everybody is looking for a good laugh. That’s why he does what he does. He’s an entertainer and he enjoys making people laugh. Love him or hate him, Al is very successful and he’s a legend. All of his music videos in youtube gets more than a million views. All of his videos go viral. He finally got his no. 1 album, “Mandatory Fun”. He had a 30 year long career. So he deserves this opportunity.

I have been a Weird Al fan since the 80’s. Listened to him since I was a child.

Even if people claim they don’t like Weird Al, they won’t admit that they’ll probably watch anyway just out of curiosity if he gets the Superbowl gig. Watch for it. I know the haters will watch anyway. Then they might find that he’s actually enjoyable.

Here’s that petition that the media is talking about.

I hope the NFL does the right thing and gets him for the gig.

Not only that Al Yankovic deserves the Superbowl halftime performance, he also deserves to get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame too!

Miley Cyrus allows fan to feel her boobs at meet & greet…

I thought this story was interesting so I had to post it. At a meet and greet session at a concert for Miley’s Bangerz tour, a young fan named David got the opportunity of a lifetime. He got to feel Miley’s boobs. She wanted him to do it and begged him to. David is one lucky guy and that’s a moment that he’ll never forget.

This might seem a little controversial and a little crazy but hey, nothing wrong with it. Nothing wrong with groping women as long as she’s in the legal age of consent, willing and giving you the okay. Some women can be crazy like that and some of them like that kind of attention.

Ted Nugent’s new album, “Shut Up and Jam” is actually a pretty solid album… LOVED IT!!!

So yesterday, I got around to listening to Ted Nugent’s new album, “Shut Up and Jam”.

You may not agree with Ted’s politics but you really should give this album a try. Ted still kills on the guitar and he still writes great rock n’ roll songs. There are great guitar sounds on this record. Awesome riffs and guitar solos. The songwriting is still great too! Before bashing the guy and hating on the guy, maybe you should try to understand him a little more. This was surprisingly a great album. Ted still got it after all these years!

I know it may seem like that Ted isn’t successful but he is. All this hatred toward Ted is doing nothing but helping his music career even more. Why do you think he just put out a new album? Love him or hate him, he’s a rock legend and a great guitar player.

There’s nothing wrong with Ted. He’s just loves America and hunting. That’s why Ted believes in the 2nd Amendment and takes it seriously ’cause he’s an avid hunter and he’s just like every American. He’s afraid of his guns being taken away by our government and all he’s doing is just defending gun rights.

While “Shut Up and Jam” is still a political album, the politics on this album are more positive and toned down. The songs on the album really showed that he loves America.

Check out the album here:

Dave Mustaine admits punching James Hetfield in the mouth was a mistake…

I’m glad to see Dave Mustaine and James Hetfield finally getting along after all these years. Ya know, Dave Mustaine could have been a longtime member of Metallica if Dave didn’t mess up and we wouldn’t have gotten Megadeth. I’m a huge fan of both bands. Megadeth and Metallica are both amazing bands. Hopefully their relationship together stays this way. No more feuds. No more drama.

Now that Megadeth and Metallica have finally played concerts together, hopefully Dave and James would do some kind of collaboration in the studio together. That’s long overdue too. I would like a super group with Megadeth and Metallica members… wouldn’t it be awesome to see them do an album together? If Metallica can collaborate with Lou Reed, then why not do an album with Dave Mustaine??? Bring it on, boys! We’re waiting for it!

Dave Mustaine really loves Metallica, you can tell that he does.

Weird Al to play for the Halftime Show for the next Superbowl??? Yes please!!!

Weird Al Yankovic deserved this opportunity for years. He should have performed a Superbowl Halftime years ago but he never got the opportunity. Could he perform the next Superbowl??? There’s a petition going by Weird Al fans begging the NFL to hire Weird Al and his band to perform the next Halftime show. Could Weird Al get the gig? I would LOVE for him to get it but since this is NFL, it maybe a tough gig for him to get. I’m pretty sure the NFL already have a bunch of artists lined up for the next Half Time show.

I know Weird Al can put on a great performance ’cause I’ve seen him live once. Him and his band are great musicians. They’ll put on a fun show for the Superbowl. For the Superbowl performance, I can see Weird Al doing some kind of medley mix. A mix of new parodies and old ones. Maybe a few originals as well.

I have a feeling they won’t get Weird Al. Instead they’ll probably end up getting Kanye West, Justin Bieber or Robin Thicke.

I do hope and pray that Weird Al gets the gig, though. This would be great for him. It WOULD help the Superbowl ratings so the NFL should think about that.

Purchased 5 albums from Itunes today…

Just picked up 5 albums for my Ipod today:

-Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers: “Hypnotic Eye”
-Marty Friedman: “Inferno”
-Ted Nugent: “Shut Up and Jam”
-Ted Nugent: (1975 debut)
-Al Di Meola: “Electric Rendezvous”

I was gonna get the new Weird Al album but then I decided I’m not gonna get it.

If you don’t know who Marty Friedman is. He is the former guitarist of Megadeth. He now has a long successful solo career and he lives out in Japan now. I’ve been curious about his new album, “Inferno” for a long while and finally got around to getting the album. I’m sure it’s a great album.

As you can see, I’ve been getting into Al Di Meola. He’s just beginning to become my favorite guitarist. The guy’s a freakin’ genius. I loved the other three albums I bought of his and now I got another one, “Electric Rendezvous”. If you wanna hear some pretty sick guitar playing listen to Al Di Meola. You may not be into jazz that much but this guy makes it okay to listen to jazz music. This guy shreds!!! The more I listen to Al Di Meola, the more music I want from him!

Yeah, so I ended up getting Ted Nugent’s new album, “Shut Up and Jam” after all. I got his first album too ’cause I wanted the song, “Stranglehold” which is a song I loved for a long time.

The new Tom Petty album is killer too!

Happy 51st birthday, Mr. James Hetfield!!!

A big happy birthday goes out to one of my favorite musicians. I love James Hetfield and Metallica! I don’t care what the haters and their doubters think. Metallica have always been and will always be great. They’ve always been my favorite band!

I’m glad I finally got the opportunity to see Metallica live myself during the “Death Magnetic” tour.

Happy birthday, James and thanks for the great music! Long live Metallica \m/

“The Allman Brothers” – Fillmore East (6 CD edition)… I’d really like to get this!!!

This is very cool!!! The Allman Brothers just released new editions of their legendary Fillmore East show. I have the original Fillmore East show on my Ipod and that album is obviously the Allman’s best work! I would like to buy the 6 CD edition sometime in the future. I know they also released a 3 disc audio BluRay but maybe that edition would be even better.

I love the Allman’s. They’re my favorite band right now. I have 9 of their albums on my Ipod Touch and that includes the Fillmore album being one of them. I’m trying to collect all of the Allman’s music. I’m also gonna collect all of their live albums too.

I still love Led Zeppelin and all but I love the Allman’s even more.

I really wish I had a chance to see the Allman’s live in concert before they hang it up. This could be the end of the band.

Like I said before, Iggy Azalea is gonna be HUGE!!!

Check this article out…

Rihanna, Beyonce and Lady Gaga better watch out ’cause Iggy is getting ready to take over the mainstream pretty soon.

Love her album, “The New Classic”. Not sure why but I do. I don’t find her a guilty pleasure either, I really do love her music. Her album is addicting stuff.

Rodrigo Y Grabriela perform their instrumental song “The Soundmaker”, then they teach us how to play it!!!

This is pretty cool!!! The Mexican acoustic duo, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, is featured for Guitar World’s Acoustic Nation in youtube. Here is Rodrigo and Gabriela playing their hit instrumental, “The Soundmaker” from their new album, “9 Dead Alive”. After they play the song, they teach us how to play the song with Guitar World’s instructor, Jimmy Brown.

I think both are great musicians. Both Rodrigo and Gabriela seem like they are very friendly and down to earth people. They’re always smiling. Always polite. No ego with those two at all. We need more musicians like them.

Gabriela may not seem to do much in her guitar playing but after her teaching her secret, the way she plays looks very challenging and tough to do. You see, Gabriela has a more percussive style of guitar playing. I love the way she plays chords and slaps her hand with the guitar as if she’s playing the bongos or something. That’s the trick with the acoustic guitar. You can turn your acoustic into a drumset or a metronome. Just use your hands. I know some might criticize Gabriela’s playing but in her defense, I think she is just Rodrigo’s metronome. She helps him stay in time. I think that’s what she’s pretty much used for but she’s still a great player.

I only have two of their albums and will get more of their albums soon. I love their music. Their newest album, “9 Dead Alive” is really good stuff and recommended listening. I listen to it a lot.
