Charlie Sheen – Roast review…

I watched, “The Roast of Charlie Sheen” on Comedy Central last night instead of Monday Night RAW. I must say that I was pretty disappointed with the show. The roasters were funny yes, they told jokes in a no holds barred type of way, they even went as far as making gay jokes and brought domestic violence into it. They even made fun of William Shatner’s plastic surgery and how he’s about ready to die and all that. It seemed like it was the Mike Tyson show ’cause the spotlight was on him most of the time.

It’s not their fault though ’cause Iron Mike is a boxing legend and he’s easy to make fun of. The roastees even went as far as making fun of Mike Tyson’s criminal past with the drugs and his history of domestic violence as well.

The roastees did pick on Charlie Sheen of course, but a little bit. Like I said, they spent most of their time making fun of the other roasters instead of Charlie. Who did I think did the best job roasting Charlie? I thought Kate Walsh did the best job. She actually pissed Charlie off a little bit.

It really is hard to piss off Charlie because he’s a pretty strong guy. I guess that’s the reason why Comedy Central wanted to do a Roast show on Charlie ’cause they wanted to find  a way to piss him off which isn’t going to be easy. Charlie just laughed and clapped throughout most of it like I predicted. He did make an angry face once when Kate Walsh was up there.

Other than that, the show was entertaining. I just wished they focused on Charlie more than the other roasters.

I’m a Charlie Sheen fan, always respected the guy. Like him or not, he is a legendary icon, no matter what you think of him. He had a pretty huge career in the movie business back in the day. I loved all of his older flicks. Will he ever come back to the movies? Well Charlie once said, he has plans in making a “Major League III”, but so far, no news about that project, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Charlie is looking so good and healthy lately. He is looking much happier too, I hope he stays this way. I didn’t really like the lunatic Charlie. Glad he’s trying to get his act together and admitting his wrong doings. It was an okay show last night, just wished it was better.

Report: Reed Hastings speaks out on price raise of Netflix, also unveils Qwikster…

Reed Hastings, the head honcho of “Netflix” finally speaks out about the backlash of the price raise. He says the reason they did this because they are starting to realize that streaming and DVD are both becoming two different businesses. They needed to let both grow and market differently & separately. They feel the businesses need to evolve and improve.

He also unveils the Netflix DVD rental section will be re-named to, “Qwikster”. It will be the same site, you can still select all of your DVD’s and put ’em in your que’s, but different site name.

Reed also announced the surprising news, that Netflix will have a video game section in there. Soon you will be able to rent games from PS3, Xbox360, and Nintendo Wii which will be really cool.

Read, Reed Hastings, full explanation, here.

No matter what people think of Netflix’s decision, I’m still sticking with them. Yep, both streaming and DVD. The price raise is not that big of a deal. They are a business, they need to do what they need to do. Businesses change, shit happens. Have any of you out there ever owned a business? Yes, I’m sure you’ve had. All businesses want to change and evolve, the same with Netflix.

People need to relax over this.

I’m sticking with Netflix because there are a lot of TV shows on there I want to see that I have never seen before and that’s one of the reasons I joined Netflix to begin with. Plus, I like to watch movies on there too, of course. I joined their DVD rentals for the new releases.

I don’t really watch regular cable TV too much, but I’ll watch a lot of Netflix at night. The show I’m currently watching now is Kiefer Sutherland’s “24”. When I finish this show, I’m thinking of either checking out “Heroes” or “Sons of Anarchy”, not sure yet. Netflix is great, screw the haters.

“24”, the best action show on TV???

On Netflix, I have been watching the TV show, “24′. I’m currently in the middle of “Season 2” right now. I just love this fucking show. Love it too much. I can’t stop watching. I would at least watch 2 – 4 episodes a night.

The writing is so good. I love the twist and turns in the story lines. It can get intense, graphic, and violent at times too. The cast is great.

At the end of Season 1, I loved the team up of Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips and Dennis Hopper. It was great seeing all of them. I also like the girl who plays Kim Bauer and the guy who plays President Palmer.

Such a great show so far. I hope they make these series into a big screen movie, ’cause it deserves to have a film. I’m glad I got into this show finally. I still have a long way to catch up ’cause this show is a good 8 seasons long.

I’m sticking with Netflix, I don’t care about the price raise, it’s not a big deal for me.

Cool Photo: “Home Improvement” cast, 12 years later…

I used to be a fan of, “Home Improvement”, when the show used to be on TV. I used to love the show and used to watch it all the time, when I was younger.

Here’s the original cast, 12 years later… check out the reunion photo: here.

Pretty cool. The only people who haven’t changed a bit are Tim Allen, Patricia Richardson and Richard Karn. Those three still look the same, but everyone else looks a little different. Especially, Debbie Dunning, she must of got plastic surgery and breast implants over the years.

Report: William Shatner set to roast Charlie Sheen on Comedy Central’s “The Roast”…

William Shatner once got roasted on Comedy Central’s “The Roast”, now he gets to roast somebody else. The Shat is set to roast Charlie Sheen, which will air on Comedy Central, Sept. 19th, @ 10:00 p.m. Other roastees for Charlie Sheen will be Mike Tyson, Jon Lovitz, Slash, Kate Walsh, and more.

Read more on it, here.

I’m gonna be sure to watch this. Who will roast Charlie the hardest? I think, The Shat, has what it takes to piss Charlie off. It’s going to be hard to piss Charlie off ’cause I’m sure he’ll be laughing throughout the whole show, but if there will be somebody that will piss him off, Will Shatner will do that job. I’m sure “Iron” Mike will do a good job too.

Looking forward to seeing this.

All caught up with Dexter…finally!!!

Now that “Dexter – Season 5”, is out on DVD which I purchased last week, I’m already done watching that season. I think Season 4 and 5 are the best seasons so far. This is a really powerful and intense show. Everything about the show is so perfect. There is nothing bad about it so far. The acting is great, the writing is great, and the way it is filmed is great. Plus, the show has the best musical score.

Now that I’m done with “Season 5” of Dexter, I’m back to watching, “24 – Season 2” on Netflix.

“Dexter” is such an amazing show, I can’t wait for Season 6, which will premiere on Oct. 2nd. I’m planning to order the Showtime channel this month in time before the show. Michael C. Hall, a phenomenal talent, he’s the best thing about the show, of course.

Whenever “Dexter” is all over and done with, Michael C. Hall will probably move on to become a big movie star after this. I’m pretty sure he’s already getting tons of offers from many horror films.

I’ll talk about Kiefer Sutherland’s “24” in another blog post. “24” is a great show too, I can’t stop watching it, so addicting.

BREAKING NEWS: Eddie Murphy confirmed to host Oscars!!!

Well, that was fast! Earlier this week it was announced that the Academy is in talks with Eddie Murphy to host this year’s Oscars, it is already confirmed. Eddie is game for hosting the Oscars this year.

Deadline, reports.

This is a much better choice of host than last year. Last year, it was James Franco and Anne Hathaway, they weren’t funny. I’m sure Eddie Murphy will be very funny and will bring lots of laughs. The Academy’s filming crew better have their censor button ready ’cause he’s going to drop a lot of swearing.

Congrats to Eddie, he deserves to get recognized again.

I wish Eddie would get back into action movies instead of doing all of these films for kids. I hope a 4th Beverly Hills Cop movie will happen too.

Kev

Thought: Would Eddie Murphy be a good host for the Oscars? I’d say YES!!!!!!!!!!!

Will the Oscars finally get a good host for once? Deadline was the first to report that the Oscars are in talks with Beverly Hills Cop star, Eddie Murphy to host the next Oscars. As you all know film director, Brett Ratner, is producing this year’s Oscars and he was the one that recommended the Academy to hire Eddie as host.

Would Eddie Murphy be a good host? Oh hell yeah! Absolutely! Eddie Murphy’s career maybe sinking lately by making a bunch of bad movies, but he had a successful career in the 80’s and early 90’s. Eddie Murphy is most famous for movies such as “48 hrs.”, the “Beverly Hills Cop” trilogy, “Coming To America”, “Harlem Nights”, and the two “Nutty Professor” sequels.

He’s a great actor and a great stand up comedian. Plus, this would be a great opportunity for Eddie to get his career back on track just by hosting the Oscars. While he is a very talented stand up comedian, he’s going to have to cut out the swearing and the dirty talk ’cause he does a lot of that at his stand up shows. I’m sure he’s going to drop a few F bombs by accident if he hosted the Oscars, but that’s the way comedians talk on stage. I think there’s going to be a lot of bleeping outs.

I’m all for Eddie hosting the Oscars. I hope they get him. It’ll be good for his career. He’s probably going to make fun of himself for not winning an Oscar most of the time, although he did get nominated for, “Dreamgirls”.
