Report: Howard Stern is confirmed as new judge for “American’s Got Talent”!!!

Another big news announcement today is that Howard Stern is officially the new judge for, “America’s Got Talent”. Pierce Morgan has left the show to concentrate on his own show for CNN, and Howard Stern is taking his place. Howard gets $15 million a year for judging on “America’s Got Talent” and the show will be moved to NYC, so Howard can be near his new work place.

Deadline, reports.

Well, this is certainly going to be great publicity for his Sirius radioshow as I can see “America’s Got Talent” promoting the hell out of it. We all know how controversial, sexist, and inflammatory Howard can get on his Sirius show, but hopefully he’ll be a 100% professional. He might say something sexist and perverted by accident toward the female performers though, especially the HOT ones. I hope NBC can handle, Howard Stern.

I love listening to Howard, I’m a fan, but do you think he’s right for a family friendly entertainment show? We’ll have to see how he does. I’m sure he will be professional for NBC. He’ll be an entertaining judge though.

This means that Howard will have performers and judges as guests for his Sirius show. Who’s going to be the first judge to do an interview with Howard on Sirius: Howie or Sharon?

Kev

Edit to add: Somebody in facebook said that Sharon and Howie was already on Howard Stern – Sirius, a while ago, I don’t listen to Howard since I don’t subscribe to Sirius.

Report: Madonna confirmed to perform during Superbowl halftime, she will perform with Cirque Du Soleil…

NBC announced their performer for this year’s Halftime Superbowl gig. Last year it was the Black Eyed Peas, this year it’s going to be none other than Madonna, the Queen of Pop. This pop legend and Rock n’ roll Hall of Famer will be performing with the entertainment act, Cirque Du Soleil.

More on the story, here.

I don’t think Madonna has ever performed the Superbowl before, and I guess it’s her time. I’m not much of a Madonna fan, though, I only liked her stuff from the 80’s. This is better than the Black Eyed Peas, I can deal with Madonna than any other pop act. She would be enjoyable and entertaining. I’m sure she’s gonna do a medley mix of all her hits over the years.

Report: Jimmy Fallon set to release new comedy album…

Jimmy Fallon, the former Saturday Night Live cast member and current host of NBC “Late Night”, is set to release a new comedy album through Warner Bros. records. The album will include original songs, parodies, and other things. This would make Jimmy’s second album since, “The Bathroom Wall”, released in 2002.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

So is the album going to be backed up the by, The Roots? Probably. If the album doesn’t have his song of the parody of, “Whip My Hair”, with Bruce Springsteen, I’m not buying it. I’m pretty sure that song will be on the album ’cause that performance on his show was a hit.

I admire Jimmy Fallon’s talent. He’s a very talented man and funny as hell. I try to watch him every night, but I fall asleep a lot. Not because I’m bored, but it’s because I get sleepy around that time. Jimmy is quite a guy and he does a good job hosting a late night show.

Report: Connie Britton speaks out on the new, “Friday Night Lights”, movie…

Connie Britton, who plays Tami Taylor, on “Friday Night Lights” TV show, spoke to US Weekly saying that Peter Berg is all fired up about turning the show into a new movie. She also says Jason Katims is writing the script.

Read what she have to say, here.

I’m very excited for this. The “Friday Night Lights” movie could have potential for an Oscar nod for some of the show’s actors especially, Kyle and Connie.

I’m sure they’ll do a good job with the film. I just hope Minka Kelly comes back as Lyla throughout the movie, and not just a cameo for her.

Report: Hugh Hefner himself, disappointed with, “The Playboy Club” cancellation…

Even Hugh Hefner, the man himself, seems to be a fan of the show as he had just expressed disappointment for the cancellation of, “The Playboy Club”. Even he agreed that it should have been on cable aimed at an adult audience.

More on the story, here.

I’m pretty sure Hefner approved this show because I’m sure NBC had to get his written permission to make it anyways.

Give it time, another network will buy it, I’m sure.

I think it should be on HBO or Showtime, that way there could be nudity on the show too. That is another reason why I didn’t agree with that show being on NBC. If it’s Playboy, then there have to be nudity for, “The Playboy Club”, right?

I think people should know about Playboy’s history and they had a lot of that in the show.

BREAKING NEWS: NBC cancels, “The Playboy Club”, after airing only 3 episodes!!!

While this is no surprise to me and I kind of saw this coming myself, NBC decided to cancel, “The Playboy Club”, TV show even after airing 3 episodes. Why? Probably because of the low ratings and the controversy with the PTC.

More on the story, here.

Such a shame. I thought it was a pretty good show so far, it was decent. I think the only reason the ratings were low ’cause people were turned off by Playboy being on a family friendly station.

Hopefully another TV station will pick up the rights for, “The Playboy Club”. Maybe HBO or Showtime will be interested in it. They would be the better networks for this show to be on ’cause it would be more appreciated by people.

I DVR’d the last and final 3rd episode of “The Playboy Club” last night and will probably watch it tonight. I hope another network will buy the show and continue it. I’m sure it will happen.

“The Playboy Club” premiere…brief review…

I just watched the DVR’ed episode of “The Playboy Club” premiere, here is my brief review.

Here’s the synopsis from episode 1:

“In Chicago, 1963, Maureen, a worker at a bar called “The Playboy Club”, is almost raped by mob boss Bruno Bianchi when she, along with a lawyer named Nick Dalton, accidentally kill him. They cover up the murder and hide the body in the river. While Bianchi’s son John and the rest of the mob start to uncover what happened, subplots include a worker named Brenda, who is seeking to be the first African-American Playboy playmate, Alice, who is secretly lesbian in a sham marriage with a gay man named Sean, and Carol-Lynne, who recently becomes the “Bunny Mother” of the club.”

As some of you know, this show created a lot of controversy over the past couple of weeks. Just out of curiosity, I just had to watch the first episode to see what this show is like. Did I like it? Yeah, it was actually pretty good. Back in those days, was the beginning of Playboy and this show want to show you how it all started.

While this show is mostly fiction there is a lot of real history in it. The PTC called the show, “pornographic material”. It is not, “pornographic material” if it doesn’t have naked women showing off their privates. This show doesn’t show any of that stuff. Yes, the women do show a lot of skin and cleavage, but that’s about it. I don’t see how that’s considered, “porn”.

Amber Heard, did a good job in this show. I enjoyed her performance. I remembered her from, “Zombieland”, and the “Friday Night Lights” movie. “The Playboy Club” is a soap opera and mob story. It is a show aimed for both men and women.

A lot of people accused this show of exploiting women. Well yeah. Women go on Playboy and other adult magazines, because it’s a free country. That’s the beauty of America folks. People make their own decisions and do what they want to do. If women wants to take their clothes off in front of a camera, so they can publish them for the world to see, that’s their choice. It bothers me that other people attack women for wanting to pose nude. In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with it. As long as it’s legal, they have that choice to do it if they want to.

I’ll admit it, I do have an interest in, ‘porn”. I’m not addicted to porn, I don’t collect it, but I need my eye candy too, right? Hey, I’m a guy, that’s what they do, look at porn. If you say you’re not into porn and offended by it, you’re lying. Everyone is into it.

I like Playboy. I respect the legacy they created with the magazine and the Playboy empire, and all that. I don’t like how the magazine is today, but the earlier history of the magazine is really incredible stuff, and “The Playboy Club” TV show wants to school you in on their past.

I read that the ratings for this show was pretty low, and I think the reason was, that people didn’t like Playboy on an NBC family friendly station. “The Playboy Club”, should be on an adult friendly station like HBO or Showtime if they want to get more viewers. Other than that, it’s a good show. I kept thinking it was going to suck, but I actually watched through the whole hour. Thumbs up.

In Defense of NBC’s “The Playboy Club”…

NBC’s new upcoming show “The Playboy Club” will debut on TV sometime in Sept. I’m interested in seeing it and I will probably watch the first episode. The show is creating a lot of controversy in the news lately. Of course, all these activist groups are trying to get NBC to not air the show. The Parents Television Council wants it off the air, and so does Morality In Media. Gloria Steinem wants everyone to boycott the show just like her, she went undercover as a bunny for the real life Club.

Why is everyone going after NBC? Because this is Playboy we’re talking about here. I mean, it’s not like this show is going to have full nudity or anything. Nudity and porn is banned off NBC which is a family friendly TV station. Why did NBC allow the show to get aired later this Fall? Probably because the show is clean enough and not as dirty and sexual everyone thinks it is. Yes, the women will show legs and cleavage of course, but that’s about it. Nothing wrong with that, right? Plus, this is just a fictional soap opera even though it was inspired by the real thing.

Playboy gets attacked for everything they do because people wrongly think they are adult porn. Not really. They are an entertainment magazine for men. There is a big difference between nude modeling and porn. Think about it.

I think NBC deserves to air this show because us men need our soap opera fix, right? I mean, we get daytime soap operas for women during the day. How come these activist groups don’t attack the Daytime soap operas when there is plenty of sex in those? Oh that’s right, because they have nothing to do with fucking Playboy. “The Playboy Club” looks to be a show that is aimed for men only. I’m all for watching it and giving it a try. See what the show is like.

I’m siding with NBC on this one.

BREAKING NEWS: Peter Berg confirms “Friday Night Lights” movie is happening!!!

Peter Berg, the man himself, confirmed that “Friday Night Lights” movie sequel with the current cast of the TV show is definitely gonna happen. Universal Studios already gave the film the green light and Peter also confirmed a script is being written. They already got Brian Grazer to produce and they plan to start filming in 2012.

There have already been a “Friday Night Lights” movie that starred Billy Bob Thornton in the leading role, but the next movie will be adapted from the TV show. The article says Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler will reprise their roles for the movie version but doesn’t say if the original cast from the TV show will return.

Deadline, reports.

At the end of FNL – Season 5, it ended with Tami and Coach Eric Taylor leaving Dillon to move to Philadelphia, P.A. So the movie will be taken place in Philadelphia.

I’m hoping the rest of the cast will be back for the movie too.

I’m excited. Glad they’re doing a movie version. I’m sure it will be a box office success and I hope Peter Berg himself directs the film.

Report: Even if “Friday Night Lights” maybe ending for good tonight, Peter Berg is trying to bring it to the big screen!!!

While the series “Friday Night Lights” is coming to a close tonight. Yes, tonight is the final and last episode of FNL sadly. The good news is, that Peter Berg is trying to bring the series to the big screen. Yes, there is already a Friday Night Lights movie that starred Billy Bob Thornton, but there could be another movie with the current cast of the TV show.

Read more on the story here, at Deadline.

Man, this would be awesome if this could happen. Peter Berg knows this show is very popular and he wants to keep it going to keep the fans happy. Much respect for him on this. NBC may no longer want the show, but there’s always another try for the big screen. I’m sure the big screen version would happen. Thanks Peter!

I’ll review “Friday Night Lights – Season 5” after I watch it tonight.
