BREAKING NEWS: Warner Bros. and DC Comics win legal battle over “Superman: Returns”…sequel is now definitely possible…

Warner Bros. and DC Comics has won the legal battle over licensing fees accused by the heirs of Jerome Seigel, “Superman’s” author and creator. It has something to do with money over the TV show “Smallville”. It was also discovered that Warner Bros. owns the rights to the Superman character which DC Comics transfered ownership to.

However, the Seigels vow to fight for full ownership of the Superman character, they aren’t backing down… and they warn they will get full ownership in 2013. Attorney Marc Toberoff said, if Warner Bros. doesn’t start production on the next Superman sequel by 2011, the Seigels will be able to sue to recover their damages.

Warner Bros. will probably continue to defend themselves so they won’t get sued by the Seigels. You can’t take down the movie companies because they are powerful people in the movie industry. I agree that Jerome Siegel deserves full ownership of the Superman character since he created it, but the man is dead…he would want Hollywood to make movies on Superman. I think the Seigels are jealous that the Superman movies make more money than them and that’s what this is all about. Money, money, money.

If a “Superman: Returns” sequel gets greenlighted soon, lets hope Bryan Singer, and Brandon Routh will return.

I thought “Superman: Returns” was a great film. I hope Bryan will come back. Congrats to Warner Bros./DC for winning the battle, for now…

Uh oh, I see a Looney Tunes vs. Mortal Kombat game coming soon? Sub-Zero vs. Bugs Bunny? Scorpion vs. Yosemite Sam? Daffy Duck vs. Raiden? Tasmanian Devil vs. Johnny Cage?

Sounds better than “Mortal Kombat vs. DC Comics” to me!

Film Review: Watchmen

Starring: Billy Crudup, Carla Cugino, Malin Akerman

Directed by: Zack Snyder:

Plot/synopsis: A former “Watchmen” superhero is murdered, the murder gets investigated by a new group of superheroes named the “Watchmen”. The film is set in 1985 in which they have something called the “Doomsday Clock” which charts the USA’s tension with the Soviet Union 5 minutes before midnight. The adventure leads to a romance triangle between two superheros over a superhero woman named Silk Spectre (played by Carla Cugino), Silk is in a romance storyline with a man that glows bright blue, named, Dr. Manhatten (played and voiced by Billy Crudup). The “Watchmen” wants to save the world but this romance over Silk kind of gets in the middle of all of it.

Hmmmmmmm, after seeing this piece of crap, I am now wishing that Twentieth Century Fox destroyed this movie during that fued. I was pretty bored throughout the entire thing. Yes, the CGI graphics were pretty impressive but that still couldn’t save the movie. I was expecting a superhero action flick, we got a little bit of that, but it turned out to be a lame love story and soap opera.

This movie was fucking cheesy and goofy as hell. I didn’t like it. Bad writing, bad acting, the costumes of the superheroes looked pretty hilarious.

I thought this was one of the worst movies I’ve seen in a long time. Please, wait for DVD on this one. I wanted an action packed superhero film which what I was expecting to see, but instead we get “Days of Our Lives” mixed in with superhero comics. The first half of the movie was all action packed, the second half, was a cheesy soap opera.

I now feel like a damn idiot pulling for Warner Bros. to win this feud. Although Fox won the feud, I wish they went ahead and destroyed this film because this film was a piece of garbage.

Ah well, it happens, you go to a movie and you end up not liking it at all. There are better movies coming out later this year, so I’m not worried about it. There is still, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, J.J. Abrams “Star Trek”, “Terminator: Salvation”, etc. All kinds of great movies coming out this year. Just don’t waste your money on “Watchmen”. Whatever you do.

Score for “Watchmen” = * poor (as in bad)

BREAKING NEWS: Leonardo Dicaprio to star the lead in “Inception”, a film by Christopher Nolan…

Leonardo Dicaprio is in final negotiations to star in “Inception”, a sci-fi action film written and will be directed by Christopher Nolan (director of “Batman: Begins”/”The Dark Knight”). The film, “Inception”, will be released through Warner Bros. pictures. The plot is kept under wraps and will not reveal what character Leo Dicaprio is playing at this time.

What a nice ploy for another box office hit. Will this film be another all star cast like most Christopher Nolan films are?

Who else do you think Nolan will get to star alongside Dicaprio?

My money is on Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Gary Oldman, Aaron Eckhart, and maybe Maggie Gyllenhaal as the female lead?

The cast to this film maybe interesting.

Report: “The Neverending Story” is getting remade too…

Now here is a remake that I actually think is worth deserving of a better film. Warner Bros. and Leonardo Dicaprio’s film company, the Appian Way, are in discussions of remaking, the family classic adventure, “The Neverending Story”. A film that tells the story of a boy who discovers a book which he reads, that he becomes the plot of the story. The story takes him to another world to meet all kinds of weird creatures and fascinating people.

I liked the original a lot. Now that you think of it, think what they can do with that movie in today’s technology. This one can be a great remake if done right.

Report: It’s not Batman 3 but Christopher Nolan signs with Warner Bros. to make, “Inception”…

The “Batman: Begins” and “The Dark Knight” helmer, Christopher Nolan has already signed on to direct his next project with Warner Bros. Nolan will direct a film titled, “Inception”, which is a script that he wrote himself. It is an original film he wrote. “Inception” will be a sci fi/action film. In the article, there is no plot/synopsis but all it says that it’s a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind. Emma Thomas will produce the film, she previously produced, “The Dark Knight” with Nolan.

Warner Bros. has been impressed with Christopher Nolan’s work, that they couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with Nolan again.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

While I do want Nolan to do one more Batman film, I’m glad he is not doing it this soon. Christopher Nolan has been one of my favorite film directors for years. Even before he became a well known and mainstream director. I look forward to anything Nolan does. I love all of his movies: “Memento”, “Insomnia”, “The Prestige”, etc. Most people know Nolan’s work through the Batman films of course, but I’d suggest everyone check out his earlier films too.

“Memento” that stars Guy Pearce, “Insomnia” that stars Robin Williams and Al Pacino, “The Prestige” a film that stars Hugh Jackman and David Bowie. They’re all amazing films.

People need to stop obsessing with Nolan’s Batman work and appreciate his other films too. I’m sure he won’t dissapoint in, “Inception”. He’s a great storyteller. Looking forward to see who Nolan is going to cast in, “Inception”. I’m sure it will be great.

Report: “The Green Lantern” finally getting big screen treatment, Martin Campbell in negotiations to helm DC superhero pic…

“Casino Royale” director, Martin Campbell is in negotiations with Warner Bros. studios in hopes of directing, “The Green Lantern”, to the big screen. There had been many superhero comics adapted to the big screen, but the Green Lantern character has never had his live action film yet. Martin Campbell is just finishing, “Edge of Darkness”, that stars Mel Gibson in the leading role.

Very cool, it’s about time Green Lantern is getting a movie, it’s been long overdue for that great character. Finally. Looking forward to see how they’re going to pull this off.

Confirmed: John Stevenson is the director of the new “He-Man” live action movie…

The new live action “He-Man” movie which is being produced by Joel Silver and being developed by Warner Bros., finally has a director. “Kung Fu Panda”, co-director John Stevenson has been signed to helm the new He-Man flick simply titled, “Masters of the Universe”.

Stevenson at first wasn’t interested in directing the film, he came close to turning it down, but then he immediately jumped on the opportunity when he visited the Mattel headquarters to a secret room where it had the classic He-Man action figures locked up.

The He-Man character was already made into a live action movie that starred Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor, but the film bombed. Now that the next He-Man reboot will be taking place on his home planet of Eternia, He-man fans would be in for a treat! The script is written by Justin Marks.

Variety Reports:

Glad they’re moving forward with the film and found a director, that’s awesome. Now the film has finally hired a crew, they need to start casting now. I hope they find a good actor for He-Man, Man at Arms, Teela, Skeletor, and the Sorceres of Grayskull. Just don’t bring the Gwildor character back!!!!!

For He-Man, why not bring Dolph back? Dolph made a perfect He-Man portrayal, and I think it would be great if they got him again. He’s still doing action flicks, so why not? I liked the Dolph version of “Masters of the Universe” very much, I still think it needed improvements so I’m glad a He-man reboot is happening.

As for who to play Skeletor, it shouldn’t be Langella again. Someone more intense who can act, Skeletor needs to have a good actor so it can be a moving and powerful performance, a good actor who can play Skeletor and make it good would work. I think either Daniel Day Lewis or Liam Neeson might be pretty damn good choices!!!
