What’s next after the Ultimate Warrior’s passing???

While we in the wrestling community still need to know how Warrior died — his autopsy and toxicology reports haven’t came out yet which will be quite a while but what positive things will come next after the Warrior’s passing?

Well, I do know that this coming Monday’s RAW will be a tribute show for Warrior. That’ll be a start. What about Warrior’s funeral? Will his funeral be a public one or a private one? Will Warrior have a private funeral and a public memorial? I’m sure Warrior’s family and WWE will plan a public memorial for Warrior ’cause they know that fans would want to say goodbye to their hero. Will there be a biography book about Warrior? (I’m sure a book is getting planned) A possible biopic movie? I’m sure people will always find ways to keep Warrior’s legacy alive forever. I’m sure people will make more documentaries and things like that.

I’m gonna feel bad for Warrior’s two daughters, though. They’re gonna have to grow up without their father around. Warrior won’t be able to see their two daughters graduate high school, college, get married, etc. Really is too bad.

I just watched Disc 1 of “The Ultimate Warrior Collection” DVD set last night and it was great stuff. A lot of memories. I’ll watch Disc 2 later tonight.

I’m really bummed about his passing.

I think the reason Warrior feuded with other wrestlers in real life ’cause they tried to disrespect his legendary career and Warrior didn’t like that. That’s why he feuded with Hogan and all those guys. Warrior was really passionate about his legacy and took it very seriously. He didn’t like his legacy being disrespected by others and he did whatever he could to defend his legacy. That’s part of the reason why he released the 3 disc DVD set, “The Ultimate Collection”, to show people that his legacy was something special.

Warrior never made a comeback to wrestling ’cause he wanted to keep his past where it is. If he made a full time comeback that would ruin his past legacy. He wanted to keep his legacy special. Most legendary wrestlers keep doing what they do by staying in the wrestling business but not Warrior. He was one of the very few who stayed retired over the years.

I’m looking forward to Monday’s RAW. Shall be a special show.

Sting finally signs WWE contract???

Legendary WCW/TNA superstar, Sting, never worked for WWF/WWE. Wrestling fans was always hoping that he “might” ’cause they wanted him to wrestle a match against the Undertaker for a Wrestlemania which was a dream match that fans always wanted. WWE have been trying to sign Sting for many years but Sting kept saying, “No”.  Look like Vince McMahon was finally successful at signing, Sting.

http://www.wrestlingnewssource.com/news/33991/BREAKING-NEWS-Sting-Officially-Signs-With-WWE/

Of course, this news blew up pretty huge in the wrestling community. Not sure if it’s true or not. I’ll believe it when WWE themselves confirm the news.

Since it may not be possible that Sting will wrestle Undertaker, I can see Sting having a match against John Cena or Triple H at the next Wrestlemania.

If it’s true that Sting finally signed with WWE, that’s pretty cool. It could be just an excuse for him to get into the WWE Hall of Fame and release a 3 disc Sting DVD which would be cool.

I never watched WCW too much but I did watch a lot of Sting on TNA Impact. I think Sting is a great performer and wrestler for his age.

Don’t blame Nancy Grace for her response to Warrior’s death but…

… I disagree with her listing Owen Hart in her list of wrestlers… I thought that was wrong for her to do but she might have the right idea that Warrior “may” have died of steroid use.

http://www.nj.com/entertainment/tv/index.ssf/2014/04/nancy_grace_diamond_dallas_page_ultimate_warrior_steroids.html

Even Bret “The Hitman” Hart said it:

http://www.wrestlingnewssource.com/news/33980/Bret-Hart-Unsure-If-Ultimate-Warrior-Ever-Stopped-Taking/

I am not defending Nancy Grace (I hate her like everyone else) but if she wasn’t gonna accuse Warrior of using steroids then who wouldn’t? Somebody else would have. Professional wrestling have been a huge target for steroid use for many years. I mean, christ, look at Warrior’s physique. It really can’t be a natural physique. So don’t be surprised that Warrior’s death was because of his past steroid use or if he was still using ’em.

You can’t blame people for thinking that wrestlers die of steroids ’cause it’s been a huge problem for years in the industry. Steroids have been a huge problem in other sports as well. Guys have used them in baseball, NFL, boxing, UFC, etc. Movie stars have even used them for the movies (yes, I know Sly and Arnie have used ’em too).

I hope that Warrior’s death wasn’t because of steroid use so lets hope that it isn’t. You can’t blame people for thinking it is after all wrestler deaths over the years.

We’ll wait for the toxicology and autopsy reports to come out. We hope to get answers of Warrior’s death then.

Look like Warrior buried the hatchet with Hulk Hogan after all!!!

10246783_10152518991625116_5587002461688917299_n

Here is Hulk Hogan and Warrior backstage with Pat Patterson from RAW last Monday night where Warrior made his final RAW appearance. So Warrior doing all these things… burying the hatchet with all the wrestlers he feuded with in real life, being inducted in the Hall of Fame, releasing a DVD, appearing at WM-30/RAW, etc. I find it incredible how he was able to do all of this despite being really sick. I mean, if someone was really sick they would stay home and rest but with Warrior he continued to work his career anyway. Much respect. I guess Warrior wanted to make everyone happy before he passed and that’s exactly what he did.  He didn’t do all of that for himself. He did it for his fans and for the fellow wrestling community who respected him.

Speaking of Warrior, I had to go to Kmart in Greenwich this morning to see if they had any copies of Warrior’s DVD set. They had one copy left so I picked it up today. They had it on sale so the 3 disc Warrior set only costed me like $16. I’ll watch the Warrior DVD this weekend and will give it a full review when I’m done watching it. I’m sure it’ll be an amazing set. Like most, I’ve been a Warrior fan for years.

He have been absent from wrestling for 16 years or so ’cause he vowed to never make any more wrestling comebacks ’cause he felt he was finished. He wanted to move on and focus on his family. Still though, Warrior didn’t stop working over the years…. he continued to make appearances at indy wrestling events and hosted a lot of “meet & greets” sessions.

Even though he was done wrestling in the ring… people still respected him over the years.

It’s interesting how a lot of people take wrestling seriously and think it’s real…

In this day and age of WWE, I find it amazing how people take wrestling very seriously and think of it as “real”. What those kind of fans are called is they are “marks”. Look up the wrestling term glossary’s. A “mark” is a fan who believes everything is real. They are type of fans of who will cheer the “babyfaces” (good guys) and hate the “heels” (badguys).

You see, I like to look at myself as a “smart/smark”. They both mean the same thing. What a “smart” or a “smark” fan which ever one you wanna call it is someone who doesn’t take wrestling seriously. A “smart” fan is somebody who knows it’s just a scripted show. This fan also knows a LOT about the wrestling business. This fan knows all the behind the scenes stuff about it and what goes on in the locker room/backstage. The secrets behind the wrestling business. The smart fans would also enjoy the “heel” wrestlers more.

As a wrestling fan myself, I look at myself as a “smart” or a “smark”. I know a lot about wrestling. After years after watching ever since I was a kid and doing lots of research and reading about the business, I would consider myself a “smart” fan.

When I talk about wrestling to other “marks”, it’s interesting how they react to me, though. A lot of them don’t really seem to understand that it’s just a scripted show. When ever I point out that I like some of the heel wrestlers like say Brock Lesnar, I usually get no responses to those posts. No thumbs up or anything. I reveal that I like badguy wrestlers like Batista or the Wyatt family… fans would question me about my support for them.

I have noticed that “marks” have taking over the world of wrestling. The “smart/smark” fanbase is diminishing while “marks” is getting bigger. I think that’s what the WWE wants. They want to attract more marks. Get people to believing that wrestling is real. WWE never called this wrestling anymore to begin with. They call it strictly, “Entertainment” as a sneaky way to attract more, “marks”.

I like to join wrestling forums in facebook and other places where there are other “smart” fans ’cause discussing wrestling with them is easier than discussing wrestling with “marks”. “Marks” can be a real piece of work. Don’t get me wrong, though, I started off as a mark when I was a kid but as I got older… I started to learn that WWE is just a show and I never take it seriously anymore.

I am pretty confident into enjoying badguy wrestlers ’cause I find them more entertaining. The badguy wrestlers have better mic skills.

WWE is pretty mainstream and huge now obviously. If you wanna watch a wrestling show where it’s aimed at “smart” fans, watch TNA Impact. They’re better than WWE, in my opinion and now that Hogan is no longer with TNA, I might start watching them again.

I don’t like the way WWE is going these days but I thought they did an excellent job with WM-30 despite the fans not liking the Undertaker losing his streak or Triple H losing to Daniel Bryan.

I’m not afraid to voice my opinions even if other fans don’t like it. I remember that I want to a live RAW show at the Times Union Center and I’ll never forget that when I bought the Nexus t-shirt, everybody gave me nasty looks when I was walking around. The Nexus used to be a wrestling group that were considered badguys. LOL!

WWE definitely did attract a lot of new and younger fans who basically know nothing about wrestling or it’s history. It’s interesting to say the least.

Wrestling is no longer the same anymore. It’s such a damn shame. I miss the old days. The old days during the TV-14 era were amazing. I miss the hardcore wrestling. That’s what I missed most but WWE banned hardcore wrestling due to them going PG. Sucks but it is what it is.

In defense of WWE and Brock Lesnar ending the Undertaker’s Wrestlemania streak…

Wow. A lot of wrestling fans are upset and pissed off that the WWE had decided to go for Brock Lesnar ending the Undertaker’s undefeated, “Wrestlemania” streak. Wrestling fans have been ranting and crying about it all day in social networking: facebook, twitter, etc.

Ya know, no matter what people think of this move, the WWE just made history. This will be a historic moment that will be talked about years from now. The WWE is happy. They’ll DO whatever it takes to make history. I’m sure they know it’s going to be controversial. I’m sure they know they’re going to take a lot of heat from it from the fans. They’ll do whatever it takes for more ratings and ppv buys. WWE is no stranger to controversy, they’ve done much worse in the past.

I’m probably one of the very few who thinks Brock Lesnar ending ‘Taker’s streak is a good idea. I mean, Undertaker is retiring. What better ways to have Undertaker’s streak ended at one of the biggest ppv’s in history, WM-30? I’m sure fans would want a better choice to end the streak than Lesnar but I think they picked Lesnar ’cause they knew this was going to create a lot of attention. I mean, if somebody else ended ‘Taker’s streak like say Shawn Michaels or Triple H, that would have been too easy and too predictable. I can see why they picked Brock.

It’s interesting how so many people hate Brock Lesnar. I like the guy. Always did. Like Lesnar or hate him, he’s the Mike Tyson of MMA and sports entertainment. “Iron” Mike Tyson and Brock Lesnar are similar in so many ways. Both of those guys have one thing in common. They like to consider themselves as a badass “motherfucker”, ya know what I mean? They both maybe bad guys in sports but they had to do what they had to do to make their dreams come true. I’m sure a lot of people will accuse Brock of not accomplishing much in UFC or WWE but he HAS accomplished a lot. Look at his records through UFC and WWE if you want proof. Lesnar was in the NFL for a little bit too.

Everybody’s upset. Crying about it in social networking and threatening WWE that they’ll quit watching, blah blah blah. I mean, really? This is just a fucking show, kids. JUST A SHOW! I never took anything WWE did seriously ’cause I know it’s fake and scripted. I just watch it for fun ’cause they are good at what they do and I respect them for working hard entertaining people.

I thought Brock was the right choice. Nobody else. It’s understandable why so many hate Brock but that’s what the man always wanted, I think. He wants people to hate him. That is a part of why he’s where he is at now ’cause all the haters helped get him to where he is. This is pretty much how Mike Tyson became a boxing icon ’cause so many people hated him back in the day. Brock is a talented guy, love him or hate him. If he’s getting so many people to hate him, he must be doing something right. He’s the Mike Tyson of this generation.

He’s just a performer and entertainer. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes after last night.

Undertaker is a backstage leader of WWE. He makes choices of his Wrestlemania opponent so it was his decision to wrestle Brock and his decision to have Brock end the streak. If you watch the match again, you can see ‘Taker instructing Brock what to do. To end the match, you can see ‘Taker telling Brock to end with the F5, his finisher. Everybody wants to blame this on WWE and Vince but this was all ‘Taker’s decision alone. It’s how he wanted to be remembered when he retires. It’s appropriate and makes total sense to end the streak at his last match. The streak can’t last forever. He can’t wrestle every Wrestlemania. He’s gonna grow old and die like the rest of us so he’s gonna hang it up soon. He’s getting old and worn out. His body is too beat up and why he has health problems over the years in his wrestling career.

On top of that, Undertaker had a brilliant run. The streak maybe over but his legacy in wrestling will never die. The Undertaker is one of my favorite’s too. I’ve been watching him for many years. He had many classic matches. He had a 24 year long career so it’s about time for him to hang it up.

I think good things will come for Brock Lesnar after this. Love him or hate him, Lesnar will be a future Hall of Famer ’cause of this.

I’m not upset about this at all ’cause I respect the hell out of the WWE for doing such a risky move. Vince has balls. Can’t deny it. He’ll do anything to give WWE more attention. He doesn’t give a shit.

I know fans want answers on why but why should they explain themselves? “Wrestlemania” is all about making history and that’s what they did.

Thoughts on Undertaker losing the Wrestlemania streak last night…

10154980_642475882490581_1850796503_n

Man, I’m glad I decided to buy Wrestlemania last night. I almost wasn’t gonna get it but the card this year was really good so I couldn’t miss this one. I did watch Wrestlemania last night.

Some of you are probably wondering my thoughts on the Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker match last night. Brock won the match and Undertaker lost the undefeated Wrestlemania streak. ‘Taker won 21 Wrestlemania’s throughout the years in his career. Undertaker’s undefeated Wrestlemania streak was meant to be something special and historic. The streak was never meant to broken at all. Unfortunately, people thought wrong. The streak can be broken. You just never know when and how. Everybody knew the streak would end soon but people didn’t think the streak would end this soon.

To be honest, I knew the streak was coming to an end, I didn’t think it would be at last night’s ‘Mania either. So it admittedly kind of shocked me too. A lot of fans are pissed and upset but that’s the point. That’s what heel wrestlers like Brock Lesnar does, they’re supposed to upset people.

I’ve read that Undertaker (who’s real name is Mark Calaway) is on the verge of retirement so this was bound to happen anyway. A lot of people knew the streak was gonna end soon, a lot of them didn’t want the streak to end to Brock Lesnar.

Sorry to say y’all but I think losing the streak to Brock was the right guy. Undertaker and Brock had so much history together that goes way back to the Attitude Era days in the 90’s. I think Undertaker and Brock are friends in real life and since Undertaker is retiring soon he was willing to lose the streak to Brock. Undertaker felt Brock was the right guy to lose it to.

Other than that, the Brock vs. Undertaker match was excellent. Losing the streak kept things unpredictable and interesting. That’s what WWE have been missing for years, “unpredictability”.

The rest of the matches were really great too. Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan was awesome. John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt was awesome too. Even the Divas match was awesome too. I liked all of it. The opening segment with Hogan, Stone Cold and the Rock opening the show was entertaining as hell. I’m glad Daniel Bryan walked out WWE Champion at the end. For once we get a Wrestlemania where John Cena didn’t headline the main event which was getting really old, ha ha! Good job Vince and WWE! It was a great Wrestlemania and definitely worth the money!

I’m looking forward to RAW tonight now.

Kev

I’ll be watching Wrestlemania 30 tonight!!!

I wasn’t gonna get “Wrestlemania 30” but I ended up getting the ppv tonight so I’ll be watching it. The card for this year’s ‘Mania is actually pretty impressive that it pretty much sold me. I haven’t watched a “Wrestlemania” ppv in a long time so hopefully this is a good one. Matches I’m looking forward to are: Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker, John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton vs. Batista, Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan and the 30 Man Battle Royal. I’m really looking forward to the whole thing.

I’m sure they’ll air last night’s “Hall of Fame” ceremony before WM-30 so I’ll be looking forward to that as well.

I haven’t watched a ppv in a long time but I couldn’t resist this one so hopefully this one will be worth the money. I’m sure WWE will do a good job.

I look most forward to Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker, though. That’s gonna be a great match. I don’t think Undertaker is gonna lose the Wrestlemania streak tonight but if he does, that will be shocking and history making. We’ll see.

I’ll write a full review of ‘Mania either later tonight or tomorrow.

Jake Roberts and Scott Hall finally in the WWE Hall of Fame…

This year’s WWE Hall of Fame is a good one. This year’s inductees are the Ultimate Warrior, Lita, Mr. T, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, and Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon.

Honestly, I didn’t find it a surprise that the WWE were going induct Jake Roberts and Scott Hall this year. Diamond Dallas Page said in the past he was going to get those guys in the Hall of Fame since Diamond Dallas was the one who got Jake and Scott clean from drugs/alcohol. Now that Jake and Scott are clean and healthy, they are good to make WWE appearances now. Now that Scott Hall is in the Hall of Fame and Hogan is back in WWE, I’m really feeling an nWo reunion in the future.

While this year’s inductees is pretty good, I feel that Lita doesn’t belong there. It’s too soon for her, I think. There are other wrestling women who are more deserving like Sable, Chyna, etc.

On top of that, they are still neglecting the Macho Man Randy Savage.

I’m glad Ultimate Warrior finally made it in though which is long overdue.

I did watch RAW last night and it was a pretty bad show except the Undertaker & Brock Lesnar segment at the end was pretty good. Even though RAW is still horrible today, I will always LOVE the old-school legends.

Kev

Is it a good idea to bring Hogan back to WWE???

Hogan coming back to WWE is getting a lot of mixed responses. Some are excited. Some hate it. Obviously, Hogan still have a lot of haters out there. The haters want him to stay gone ’cause they believe he is an old has been who should stay away and give the younger guys a chance. I somewhat agree with the haters. Hogan has a huge ego problem and it was obvious that he would want to be a part of WM-30 which is the 30th Anniversary of WM. Hogan started the Wrestlemania thing to begin with. Hogan was a big deal in wrestling for the first several Wrestlemania’s. It’s obvious that Hogan was brought back as a ploy to help bring up the ratings and more ppv buy rates for “WM-30”. Hogan may have changed wrestling forever yes, can’t deny that but there are some people who think he is a douche in real life.

Hogan is such a trainwreck outside of wrestling like all the reality show “Hogan Knows Best”, the car crash w/ Nick Hogan, his divorce battle w/ Linda, and the latest controversy I think was the leaked sex tape that got out there. Plus, Hogan is an egomaniac and a liar.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings on Hogan coming back. Some good and some bad. The good is that I would like Cena vs. Hogan to finally happen and that’s probably the plan. Even though I don’t like either wrestlers, that match deserves to happen and it’s something I would watch. I’m also hoping for an nWo return ’cause Hogan is best at that. Hogan is only good with the nWo.

Will Hogan wrestle in a match ever again? I don’t know. Ever since he left TNA, he has been training hard in the gym so that’s a hint that he might wrestle one more match. He has back problems and other health issues so it’s pretty risky. When Hogan was in TNA, he did wrestle in one match which was against Sting at a “Bound For Glory” ppv in 2011, I think.

Like some people, I’m skeptical of Hulk’s return. Hogan failed in his TNA run, it should be no different in WWE. I’m hoping Hulk will come back as a heel in WWE but I doubt it, though. We’ll see what happens. A Hogan heel turn in WWE could work if he’ll do something terrible that all the kids will hate like beating up Cena to a bloody pulp would do it. That’ll get the Hogan vs. Cena feud started. A Hogan vs. Cena feud would work only if Hogan is heel… I can’t see a good guy vs. good guy kind of thing. Either that or if they turn Cena heel that would work too.

I’m actually looking forward to seeing how Hogan’s return is gonna play out so I’ll tune in to RAW this coming Monday. If I get bored, I’ll probably switch the channel. I stopped watching TNA ’cause I didn’t like Hogan being around there.

Hulk Hogan used to be something special in the old days but today? The man needs to retire already. He’s old and washed up for sure. He’s a disaster in wrestling. He’ll be a disaster in his WWE return too but it’ll be entertaining to watch for laughs. Hulk Hogan is a joke.

I heard that the Undertaker is coming back to RAW Monday so that’ll be another reason to watch RAW. I love the Undertaker more.
