The Wrestling Observer posted this, about Triple H’s backstage power at WWE shows:
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports those backstage within WWE are very happy that Triple H has a lot more power within the company to make influential changes. The feeling is that although he has had significant power within the company for several years now his current official role will allow a slow transition of the company from Vince McMahon to Triple H as the leading figure. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are expected to be the successors of the company when the time comes.
Notice how the article says, “when the time comes”. Is that a hint that Triple H and Steph could take over WWE ownership, when ever Vince steps down to retire??? Well, Vince can’t retire until he sells the business. Whenever Vince had enough, I’m sure he would sell it to none other than Triple H and Steph. Even though Triple H haven’t been on TV, he still travels to all WWE shows and hangs backstage with the superstars, trying to help run the show.
Well, the road to Wrestlemania has officially begun. Wrestlemania 27 will take place on April 3rd in Atlanta, Georgia. What matches do I think will happen this year? Well, here is a few possibilities that may happen.
John Cena vs. the Miz for the WWE Title – There’s a huge possibility that Cena could be part of the 30 Man Royal Rumble matchup, and of course, he’ll win, so he can headline Wrestlemania to face Miz for the WWE title. Cena will indeed become WWE Champ again at the next Wrestlemania like always.
CM Punk vs. Wade Barrett – The Nexus have thrown it’s former leader, Wade Barrett out of the group. So looks like Wade Barrett will be feuding against CM Punk for a long while.
HHH vs. Sheamus – Triple H maybe returning soon just in time for Wrestlemania. HHH may get his revenge against Sheamus this time around. WWE could possibly be saving HHH’s return at the Rumble. Will HHH show up during the 30 man rumble match? I think it’s a possibility.
Beth Phoenix vs. Awesome Kong – If the newly signed Awesome Kong makes her debut in time for Wrestlemania which she probably will, I believe she’ll face against Beth Phoenix, because Beth is a big and muscular woman and it would make sense if she went against another big woman.
The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar (if not Brock, then it will be against Kane) – If WWE can get Brock in time for Wrestlemania, it would be Undertaker vs. Brock. If they can’t get Brock, then it’ll just be Undertaker vs. Kane again.
Those are the matches I can definitely see happening so far, if I come up with anything else, I will add it in.
Ever since the announcement of former TNA star, Awesome Kong, getting signed to WWE, there have been many worries by wrestling fans how WWE is going to use her. When WWE bring in new wrestlers, they usually use them for humorous and silly storylines that makes it look embarrassing to wrestling fans like what they did to the Hornswoggle, the Great Khali and Santino Marella characters. Fans worry that WWE will make Awesome Kong head down that road.
Will Awesome Kong be brought in as a heel or a babyface?
When Awesome Kong was in TNA, she was always seen as a heel. I don’t think she was ever a babyface in TNA. In TNA, she was also seen as this unstoppable monster. She couldn’t be defeated in the women’s division in TNA wrestling. Not too worry wrestling fans. I think WWE will use her good. They will continue to use her as this unstoppable heel that she’s known for. I think WWE have been wanting her for a long time, they’ve been waiting to sign her until she’s done with TNA. Now they finally got her since Awesome Kong was released from TNA earlier this Spring.
There’s a couple of possibilities on how WWE is going to use Awesome Kong. They will bring her in as this unstoppable heel against the WWE Divas. Kong will come in, beating up all the Divas, she can’t be stopped or she could be brought in as a new Nexus member. Why would Kong be a good Nexus member? Well I think the Nexus could use a good female heel and Kong would make a great addition to the group.
WWE will obviously give her a new staged name and a new gimmick ’cause I’m very sure TNA owns the rights to her name and gimmick. So WWE will create something else for her, unless WWE tries to buy the “Awesome Kong” name off of TNA so she can keep that name. WWE won’t disappoint fans with the Awesome Kong signing. Not sure when she’ll make her debut, they’ll make it unpredictable. I think she’ll come in in the 30 Man royal rumble matchup, she’ll make her debut at the Royal Rumble ppv. She could also come into feud with Beth Phoenix or become the bodyguard for LayCool (Layla and Michelle McCool, tag team). It’ll be interesting how WWE is going to use Kong. I believe in WWE and trust in them. They’ll use her good.
Long time, TNA star, Awesome Kong (real name: Kia Stevens, the huge black woman pictured above) just signed a contract to WWE. How long did it take WWE to finally notice her? She revealed the news herself on her twitter page. This is great news because the Divas division in WWE could use a big woman. I can definitely see WWE using Awesome Kong, as this unstoppable female monster. She’ll come in as a heel for a while, but maybe babyface sometime in the future.
So I went to WWE RAW in Albany last night. It was a great show. I had a fun time. I had a feeling that the final RAW of 2010 would be a good one, they usually are. No big superstar returns, but my prediction of Nexus kicking out Wade Barrett from the group was right. A shocker at the end of RAW happened, CM Punk is now leader of Nexus replacing Barrett. (See video below)
It was a great ending to last night’s RAW, it was perfect. Of course, all the Cena fans walked out of the show with sad and disappointed looks on their faces. Believe it or not, Nexus has a lot of fans too as there were a lot of people wearing Nexus shirts and holding Nexus signs in the audience. Which means that Nexus isn’t going away anytime soon people. As long as the group is selling shirts, they’ll stick around for a long time. The Nexus is the most successful wrestling stable in the WWE.
Other thoughts on last nights show. WWE RAW opened up with a show called, “WWE Superstars” which is a weekly short show aired on Thursday nights on channel WGN. It started off with a match against Abraham Washington and some other wrestler, I don’t know who. The next match was William Regal against the other guy. I don’t watch “WWE Superstars” that much so I don’t know the wrestlers on that roster, except I am familiar with Abraham Washington who is getting very popular already. Abraham got a lot of heat and boos from the crowd, so I think Abraham is going to get moved to RAW at some point here.
In the opening show of RAW, John Cena was the first to come out, of course, like always. He came out to the ring to start a speech to confront, CM Punk. CM Punk comes out and Cena/Punk got into conversation about Vickie Guerrero. I was hoping Vickie Guerrero would come out that night, but she didn’t. She wasn’t there. Then Punk and Cena starts talking about how their going face each other later that night.
The first match after that promo, was Santino Marella (w/Tamina by his side) wrestled a match against Ted Dibiase Jr. It was a short match, but Santino ends up winning it. The next match was John Morrison vs. Alex Riley, which Morrison won, of course, the Miz was by Alex’s side but the Miz was sent to the back by the Ref ’cause the Miz kept interfering and getting in the way. The next match was Mark Henry vs. Tyson Kidd, another quick match that didn’t last long, Henry won of course. Kidd’s Bodygaurd, Jackson Andrews, confronted Mark Henry, two big giant men stared eye to eye in the ring. Mark Henry ends up beating down, Jackson Andrews, and Mark Henry celebrated the moment with the fans. Next up was Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. The Miz, Lawler actually wrestled a lot and he was actually pretty good. Lawler won with the help of John Morrison. I thought it was pretty amazing seeing Lawler wrestle and witnessing him winning. Lawler who is a legend and a Hall of Famer.
Next up, was the Divas match, Melina & Alicia Fox vs. Eve Torres & Gail Kim. Melina and Alicia Fox won of course, after the match, Natalya Neidhart (who is the daughter of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, btw) went up to slap Melina across the face for payback of last week’s RAW when Melina attacked Natalya. This actually a pretty exciting match. I’m glad I got the honor to see Melina who is a favorite of mine. It was also great to see Natalya, the daugther of a legend and a family member of Bret “The Hitman” Hart as well.
Next, was Daniel Bryan vs. Zack Ryder, Daniel won of course. It was a great opportunity to see Daniel Bryan who I had my eye on for a long while. He’s a great talent. After that match, the Anonymous GM rang in and announced to Jerry Lawler that he had a New Year’s suprise, guess what, Lawler got the beat down by the Miz as for payback from earlier. Of course, there were lots of strong boos all over the arena.
Now here is the main event with Randy Orton vs. Sheamus. It was great seeing these two guys live. Randy won of course, it was a clean match with no interferences. After the match got over witih, Cena came out to confront CM Punk, but instead Nexus comes out announcing they got a new leader replaced. Like I said, CM Punk is now the official leader.
What is next for Wade Barrett? I’m thinking Wade Barrett would go babyface, not a heel. So he can join Cena to fight against the Nexus. It was actually a good RAW. I’m glad we only heard from Anonymous GM only once. That laptop computer thing is annoying. They’ll reveal the GM at the Royal Rumble or sometime before the PPV. Last night was actually an exciting show. I’ll watch it again on my DVR.
Well that was quite a blizzard over night! Yes, I’m still going to WWE Monday Night RAW at the Times Union Center in Albany, tonight. The show is still on. Why? Simply put, WWE don’t postpone or cancel their shows no matter the weather conditions. They are committed at what they do. So yeah, the WWE crew and all the RAW superstars are in Albany today, and safely too.
The main event for the night is a tag team match with John Cena/Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett/the Miz w/ Michael Cole as the special guest referee. My prediction on that match is that the Nexus group will be involved and someone is going to get the beatdown by the Nexus. Who? I have a feeling it might be Wade Barrett, the groups leader, the Nexus. There have been signs that Nexus members were going to kick their leader out of the group and it might happen tonight.
Looking forward to seeing all the superstars and the Divas performing for us Albany peeps. Also, this is the final RAW of 2010, so this is a big event for them. Something big will happen tonight. Yeah, we’re probably gonna have to put up with the Anonymous RAW GM laptop thing and deal with John Cena take over the whole show like usual, but it’s still going to be fun.
Some may think I have seen WWE live a lot. Well, honestly, I haven’t. I only saw WWE shows in the past like 3 or 4 times in my life. So this will be my first RAW live show ever. I will be going with family members that are fans of WWE. I’ll write about it when I get back. Oh, and of course, I will record this on my DVR, in hopes of me getting spotted on TV!
Lately, I’ve been very impressed with Vickie Guerrero’s performing in the WWE. There have been many female heels over the years of WWE: Sensational Sherry, Sable, Stephanie McMahon, Luna Vachon, etc. Out of all the female heels from the past, I think we can safely say that Vickie Guerrero is the best. Why? Everytime Vickie starts talking to the mic, the crowd would start booing her. Every word she says, she gets strong boos. Watch the video below for proof. Every time she tries to talk, the audience wouldn’t let her and John Cena takes over to help control the crowd, which doesn’t work.
I think Vickie will be a heel for a long time, she’s doing a good job.
Shawn Michaels posted a video today in his official youtube account, he revealed the shocking news that he signed a full time contract with WWE. The only problem is, that Shawn will only be a performer, not a wrestler. He’s done wrestling for good, but that doesn’t come as a surprise because Shawn always had health problems and he has serious back problems.
I don’t think Shawn is the RAW Anonymous GM, he’s probably going to perform with Triple H as DX, just to entertain the kids.
Enjoy this interesting video. This is Shawn Michaels home gym. Look at all the cool WWE memorabilia he has hanging on his wall. All that stuff is from his WWE career from the past.
Triple H & Shawn Michaels will make their return to WWE as D-X, for the upcoming, “Tribute to the Troops” show on Dec. 18th. Not sure if this is a one off appearance with D-X or full time. Maybe a one off appearance with Shawn Michaels but Triple H will probably stick around WWE more. If these guys returned as DX then that means they are definitely not the RAW Anonymous GM either. The above photo is Triple H and Shawn celebrating Christmas with the troops along with Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and John Cena. Look like, they just finished taking Nexus out of the ring?
Out of all the predictions people made on who the Anonymous GM is, lets cross off the list of the guys who are definitely not the GM so far: Michael Cole, Jim Ross, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels.
Tomorrow’s RAW is the WWE Slammy Awards so that ought to be interesting. The GM probably won’t be revealed sometime before the Royal Rumble PPV. I’m betting my money on it.
A family member of mine won tickets off a radio station to see Monday Night RAW at the Times Union Center on Dec. 27th and she’s giving them to me since she knows I’m a huge wrestling fan. I’m definitely going. I like seeing WWE shows live in person, it’s definitely much more fun seeing their shows live than on TV! Am I ready to see John Cena hog up the whole show, the Nexus and Michael Cole reading Anonymous GM e-mails off a laptop? Yes, I guess so. Hopefully, Triple H returns to WWE before then so I can see him live in Albany, that would rock.
The main event booked for that night is a WWE Championship match between: Randy Orton vs. The Miz vs. Wade Barrett, but we all know that John Cena is somehow going to be involved in that match. Hopefully Vince McMahon will be there to perform if he returns to TV before then.
Shall be an exciting show and looking forward to it. Should I bring a sign to hold up for the TV? Not sure, I’ll do that or not. Maybe.
