Slash recently announced that the band “Velvet Revolver” had kicked lead singer Scott Weiland out of the band. Slash says that the Velvet Revolver is about the fans and the music, but Scott Weiland was not committed to either, so the band was forced to move on without him. Which means they kicked him out. Weiland still seems to be an alcoholic and a drug addict which is probably the reason for his strange behavior.
Weiland agreed to leave the band so he can join the Stone Temple Pilots for a full reunion tour this summer.
Roger Ebert, the legendary film critic will be returning to reviewing films full time later this month. He will NOT be returning to TV for his show “Ebert & Roeper” because he is unable to speak at all. How is he unable to speak? He had surgery back in January that ended in complications, a mistake happened during his surgery that he lost his speaking voice. He had surgeries before, one in 2006 which he had a cancerous growth on his salivary gland, he also had emergency surgery where a blood vessel burst near the site of the operation.
While Ebert is no longer able to speak, he can still see and hear, so his love for movies hasn’t ended. He says he is cancer free and successfully battled it, and is not ready to think about more surgery.
He will soon be attending the 10th Annual Ebertfest at the University of Illinois which runs from April 23-27.
I was never a fan of Roger Ebert’s reviewing because he always gave good movies that I liked negative reviews. I never pay attention to critics to begin with, I judge movies by my own opinion.
I ain’t all that excited for Ebert coming back but I hope he gets well.
It will be interesting to see what film he will review in his return.
Sylvester Stallone has announced he is planning a sequel to “Rhinestone”. He had already started writing the script but has not yet announced the title. Stallone will reprise his role as Nick Martinelli and Dolly Parton has confirmed to reprise her role as Jake. “Rhinestone” was about a legendary country star who thinks she can turn anyone into a country star, she meets up with a taxi driver who she tries to turn him into a country singer like her.
The sequel to “Rhinestone” will be different. The story to “Rhinestone 2” will be about where Stallone’s character Nick Martinelli actually already a country star, but Dolly’s character Jake is kidnapped by a different country rock band who are drunks and a bunch of bullies. Martinelli must save Jake from the badguys, this is not a western film, this is an all out action flick where cowboys go at it kicking each others asses. Stallone says he will do more singing in this film, he will also write and direct.
“I was embarrassed when I saw myself singing in the first film, so I went to my brother Frank who is also a musician teach me to sing,” Stallone said. “Rhinestone 2 will be better than the first, this will help Dolly with the promotion of her new album.”
This is no April Fools joke, it’s the real deal, Sean Connery is considering coming back to the James Bond 007 franchise. In the old days, he was made famous for the James Bond role. If he returned in “Bond 22 – Quantum of Solace”, he won’t play James Bond again of course, since Daniel Craig is on the role, but instead Sean Connery maybe playing one of the main villains.
Connery commended the film makers that Daniel Craig is the perfect Bond. He also says he “wouldn’t mind” playing the villain and not James Bond.
Man, it would be great to see Sean Connery back on the big screen. He hasn’t been on the big screen since “the League of the Extraordinary Gentlemen” which that film was released way back in 2003. It’s been five years since he hasn’t been on the big screen. Where ya been Mr. Connery?
Chris Cornell the former frontman for Soundgarden/Temple of the Dog/Audioslave recently saw David Cook’s performance of the Chris Cornell version of “Billie Jean”, a Michael Jackson cover on American Idol. Cornell says he was actually impressed with David’s singing and flattered that Cornell got the shout out on Idol. Cornell says that Cook sang the song almost note for note, sang it exactly the same way Cornell sang it. (see the videos below for proof). Cornell goes on saying that he is so proud of his version and wanted to know that he did it first.
I don’t know what Chris Cornell is smokin’, but David Cook’s voice sound nothing like Cornell’s, not even close. I totally agree that Cook sang it “great”, but no where near Cornell’s range.
Cornell should appreciate to what Cook did for him rather than putting him down, Cornell is acting like his version is better.
I dont’ watch Idol anymore but I’ll have to start watching again, I stopped watching a few years ago. I’ve been hearing that Idol has been using live bands and using real instruments more than the “karaoke” thing, which is cool.
I guess Ric Flair really is retiring from WWE in real life. On last night’s RAW the WWE did a special farewell tribute to him. Flair is really retiring, the storyline with “McMahon forcing Flair to retire with this career threatening matches” is just an angle to head to Wrestlemania for his final match.
Every single wrestler on the RAW brand celebrated Flair’s 36 year career in the wrestling business. Flair even reunited with the original 4 Horsemen members on last night’s RAW, he reunited with other former wrestlers he wrestled in the past like Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Harley Race, Greg the Hammer Valentine, etc. were all on RAW last night.
On RAW last night, every superstar got out of character and got out of storylines to pay respects to Ric Flair. Even the Undertaker and Vince McMahon went out to pay respects as RAW got off the air. Even Randy Orton the Champ who seems to have a hatred for Flair on TV was out there paying respects to him with a smile on his face and Orton was known as a “legend Killer”.
The thing is with the WWE all these performers support and love each other like family even though they pretend to be enemies on TV. It’s just a show, and entertainment, everyone knows that.
Notice that I never post wrestling news from the “smart” fans sites, you know, sites like 1wrestling, wrestlingobserver, pwinsider, etc. I don’t pay attention to those wrestling news sites ’cause most of them are rumours and fake news anyway. I find it sad how all these so called “smart” fans in the wrestling forums actually believe these news are true. You know stuff like backstage politics, wrestlers not getting along well in real life, etc. Those wrestling sites don’t know shit what goes on backstage. I only post wrestling news if it lands all over national media, something that’s more true and official.
Anyhow, back to Ric Flair, he’s been a favorite of mine my entire life. I witnessed him win the WWE Champ at the Royal Rumble 1992 at the arena formerly known the Knickerbocker Arena in Albany. Yes I was there live in person and I was a young kid back then. I will never forgot that moment.
But with Ric Flair retiring, I don’t see him retiring for good. Maybe he’s just quitting wrestling in the ring. I’m sure he’ll make occasional appearances. Flair will be back, they always come back. They did the same thing with Mick Foley during his so called “retirement”.
I see Ric Flair being moved to the Smackdown brand ’cause they still have his profile on the Smackdown superstars page.

Since NBC cancelled the short lived daytime soap opera “Passions” last year, NBC tried to bring it back to life to bring it back to the tube. Universal Media Studios tried to help the soap find a home. The “Passions” cast and crew were once told to keep the show alive on the internet only but failed at that too. NBC killed the show because simply, no one wants it.
“Passions” is a day time soap opera created by writer James E. Reilly, the series debuted in 1999.
Well, I wonder why no one wants the show. It’s because the show is simply horrible.
Nobody cares for daytime soap operas anymore because all the ratings are so low on them. Rumours are circulating all over the internet that NBC could axe “Days of Our Lives” next year in 2009. The soaps are pretty much the lowest ratings on TV right now.
Honestly though, I don’t blame the low ratings on the bad writing and acting ’cause some of them can actually be real good. I blame the low ratings on these shows because they are shown during the day where people are at “work” or people who don’t work just do things during the day and not stay home watching TV.
If some of these shows were moved to Prime Time TV, I assure you the ratings would go up then.
The former co-star for Regis Philbin, Kathie Lee Gifford is making a full time comeback to TV. You will see her as co-host on “The Today Show” on the 4th hour, her first day is April 7th.
The “Today Show” is a longtime news program with Matt Lauer, Meredith Viera, Ann Curry, and Al Roker.
More WWE controversy…at last night’s Wrestlemania as the Undertaker was coming out of the titantron stage to enter the ring to prepare for his match against Edge…fireworks and all kinds of fire exploded as he walked out…40 fans were injured during that segment for real, and 3 fans were taken to the hospital.
