Congrats to Kiss, Nirvana, Peter Gabriel and other Hall of Fame inductees for 2014!!!

If Kurt was still alive, I’m sure he would have been honored to be inducted along with Kiss and Peter Gabriel. Too bad he’s not around to see this. I’m sure Dave, Krist, and Pat will accept this honor on his behalf. Will the surviving members of Nirvana perform? I’m sure they will.

Love Kiss or hate them, they deserve this honor too. Kiss has been ignored from the Hall of Fame for years and they finally made it in. I love Kiss too but only their earlier stuff. I’m not into Kiss’s new music too much but I love all of their classic songs, though. Will Ace Frehley be there to reunite with them? I’m sure this induction will be for all members of Kiss over the years.

I love Peter Gabriel’s music as “Us” and “So” are two of my favorite albums of all time. His induction is worthy for sure.

Congrats also go out to Cat Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, and Hall & Oates. Another famous backing band gets the induction and that’s the E Street Band, Springsteen’s backing band. So this means Bruce’s wife Patty and Little Steven Van Zandt are now Hall of Famers. The same goes for Max Weinberg and Clarence Clemons.

The next Hall of Fame show will be interesting for sure.

I’m more interested on who’s going to induct, Nirvana. Butch Vig, Frances Bean, the guys from the Meat Puppets? Anyone of them, a possibility.

See the full inductee list, here.

More on “Speak A Little Loudly” song…

When I heard “Speak A Little Loudly” song in my head, I heard it as a gospel song. Can you tell it’s kind of gospel like a little bit? It was never meant to be a religious song, the lyrics weren’t but the music is kind of close to it. When I heard the song in my head, I visioned as a very large church choir singing the song so I tried to match it as best as possible. Someday, I will make that happen… collaborate with a choir or a large group of singers at least. I think that will be amazing.

Be warned, people. You’re gonna hear a lot more similar songs like this.

I wanna write original music that has been inspired by my favorite artists: Johnny Cash, Bowie, Neil Young, Springsteen, Simon & Garfunkel, etc. They are big influences.

I was serious about writing more family friendly music that everyone can listen to and it’s happening. This is only the beginning with original music.

Yeah, I’m planning an internet-only album and thinking it maybe up to about 20 songs. Stay tuned.

Vocal harmony…

So after watching a few youtube instructional videos on vocal harmony… it really seems like a piece of cake really. What vocal harmony is when a singer is singing in tune with a certain chord like say a C chord for example, the back-up singers would sing higher notes that are in that chord. Like in a C chord is a 1 3 5 so the notes would be C E G. If a singer is singing on the root note C, the back-up singers would sing a little higher either E or G. You could come up with all kinds of vocal harmonies for back-ups like “oooohhs”, “Aaaahhs”, “mmmmmmm”, “Sha lalalala”, etc. Whatever you can come up with… just be creative. I’m gonna give this a try by practicing in garageband and then I’ll try it for another song. Should be easy.

Some of you may ask how did I improve myself with the singing? Well, the only secret to that is… practicing. That’s all there is to it. The goal is you want the voice to give that buzzing sensation in your head… get all of that sound out of your mouth. After listening to my older songs, I felt I really needed to improve myself. I wanted to become an actual “singer”. Really sing good and not sing like I’m using my speaking voice if you know what I mean.

Singing is fun. I enjoy it so much. You’ll never see me audition for “The Voice” or “American Idol”… I’m gonna be doing my own thing.

I wanna try doing some acepella singing… see what kind of feedback I can get of me singing without an instrument.

If your voice sucks and if you don’t like the way it sounds, you can always improve yourself. Don’t always think you can’t. I taught myself how to sing. I prefer to teach myself instead of working with a vocal coach. Teaching yourself is better. You don’t wanna get anybody else’s style. You want to develop your own.

NSA and US government spying… finally declared unconstitutional!!! HELL YES!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!

Well, well, well, look at what we have here. After Edward Snowden exposed the government that the NSA has been spying millions of Americans, it was debatable whether or not Edward Snowden was right/wrong or the NSA was right/wrong. The government defended themselves and claimed that Edward Snowden was wrong and the NSA was right. Turns out that it’s now the other way around. Edward was right all along and the Government was wrong!

The judge said that the NSA and US government weren’t doing this to fight terrorism either.

More on the story, here.

This should be GOOD enough for the articles of impeachment papers to be handed in. Richard Nixon lied about spying/wiretapping but he got in deep trouble for it. Should President Obama get in trouble for this too? Yes. Absolutely… he should be held accountable.

I always knew what the government was doing was illegal. It was no surprise to me and people kept defending Obama and the government making claims they had every right to do it.

Get with it… Obama’s a liar and he was just exposed in another HUGE lie. You see? That’s all the man ever does. Pathological liar. I don’t see how you can defend him over this.

Thanks Edward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the greatest news I’ve heard all year long!!!!

Original song: Speak A Little Loudly

Another new original. Spent all day recording this. Think I got the vocals to sound better this time around. I think what happened the last time is that I was singing pretty close to the mic and I had to back away from it. Should sound much better for you this time, I hope.

Enjoy this new song called, “Speak A Little Loudly”. As you can hear I’m going nuts with my own backup vocals… so much fun to do! I’ll be doing a lot of that for my songs.

Lyrics here:

“Speak A Little Loudly”

Ooooh, where do you think you’re going?
I’m not done with you yet.
OOooh, please don’t stop this discussion…
and you didn’t win.

CHORUS:
Can you speak a little loudly?
I didn’t quite hear you.
Can you settle down a little?
I don’t quite fear you.
Lets just get along.

Ooooh, I see you ain’t done yet.
You just won’t give up.
Ooooh, please stop right now.
You just just keep going.

Repeat Chorus

Bridge:
Would you give up?
You have nothing to say.
Think I pretty much won
because you’re walking away.

Repeat Chorus 2x’s

OOooohhh, speak a little loudly (repeatedly ’til fade)

I’m already starting to get requests from other musicians wanting me to join their bands or collaborate on something… which is kind of flattering…

Whenever you start to get other musicians wanting to form a band with you or want you to join them, does that say something about your talent? I never had this before. Musicians wanting me to play music with them after me uploading all those songs to the internet. Maybe I do have what it takes to play in a rock n’ roll band? I got two different requests which is pretty cool. When you get that, it’s letting you know you are a musician and can be something special. Other musicians do take you seriously. Not trying to be egotistical about it… just trying to make a clear point.

Yesterday, three Hollywood legends passed away…

Yesterday, three Hollywood legends passed away and they are… Peter O’ Toole (Lawrence of Arabia), Tom Laughlin (Billy Jack), and Joan Fontaine (“Suspicion”, “Rebecca”). I would have put up obits for all three of them and will get around to it soon but it will be a lot of work so I’ll give all three a quick shout-out here. RIP to all of ’em. Very strange how three movie legends passed away in one day. That’s what life is all about, I guess. We’re all gonna go at some point.

The top 10 best music albums of 2013 will come later this week actually!!!

I didn’t buy too many albums this year in 2013. Music industry gets worse every year so there’s not much good music anymore. Once in a while a good album will come out but not much. Looking through my CD collection, I only bought 7 albums this year. For all those other new albums I wanna hear, I’ll just listen to them all in spotify this week and then I’ll make my picks for the list. If I like the album enough, I’ll buy my own copy on CD. That’s what I use spotify for. If there’s an album I wanna hear, I’ll listen to it in spotify first to see if I like it enough.

I don’t subscribe to spotify… I just listen to the free service. I don’t mind commercials and advertisements. It’s just like listening to the radio, ya know?

I’ll be honest that it hasn’t been a good year for music but the big plus’s are that Black Sabbath and David Bowie both made comebacks. I’ll have this list up sometime at the end of this week.

Sylvester Stallone makes surprising return to SNL for a cameo segment w/ John Goodman and Robert Deniro…

Last night on SNL, Sylvester Stallone makes a surprising return to SNL for a cameo segment with John Goodman and Robert Deniro to help promote the upcoming movie, “Grudge Match”. The last time Sly made an appearance on SNL was when he hosted the show back in 1997. Sly doesn’t do comedy too much but when he tries, he can be pretty good at it. This segment is pretty funny too. Enjoy.

Should I neglect asking women out over the internet??? I really shouldn’t but…

… the goal is to ask her out to her face in person… show her you got the balls and confidence to do it in person than over the internet.

Maybe internet dating is a good thing. In these days, it seems that the internet is a big deal. Everybody’s doing it. People are hooking up through paying dating sites and social networking like facebook. I’ve known plenty of couples who just hooked up through facebook. So maybe this stuff does work? As long you’re careful and watching out for scammers, prostitutes, women with STD’s, and all that stuff… internet dating should be good.

Maybe I will give internet dating a try… don’t know.

I just think it would be more fun if I try to score a date with a woman who I just met publicly like out at a store or a band show or the gym or something like that. So I guess you can say that one of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2014 would be try and be more confident with women. Start talking to women I never met before… I need to do that more. I need to work on my conversation skills and it is getting worked on. Talk to people in person like I talk a lot on the computer. Shouldn’t be that hard.

Goal for 2014… try to talk to and meet as many women as possible. I’m 37 now, almost the big 40 and I wanna get myself a nice lady before then.

To be honest, I’m not worried about looks in a woman. It’s the personality that I look for. As long as she’s fun to talk to and you can click pretty well with her… who cares if she’s beautiful or not. It doesn’t mean I’ll date an ugly or an overweight woman, though. I would like a good looking and hot woman but if not, I’ll take a normal woman too.

I can’t see myself being single for the rest of my life and I really need to do something about it. Would like to get married someday but only to the right one.
