Has there been more gun violence in PG-13 rated films than the R rated films lately? I’d say absolutely!!!

I usually hate, “Study finds…” articles on the internet ’cause most of them are complete bullshit but I actually agree with this one! Finally, a “study finds…” that is actually pretty truthful. This study finds that there have been more gun violence in PG-13 movies more than R rated films these days. It has tripled since the 1950’s.

More on the story, here.

Yes, I have noticed that gun violence in PG-13 films has been on the rise in this day and age. Why? I have a few observations that I think why that is…

1) Kids don’t care to see PG-13 comedies and dramas anymore. They want to see violent movies just as much as the adult movie fans do. They find comedies and drama boring so they start seeing action movies instead. I wouldn’t blame it on video games or their parents… I would blame it on Hollywood, all the way. Hollywood controls America what to watch. They want to give kids every opportunity to see violent films and making violent movies with the PG-13 is just their sneaky way of allowing kids to see violent films. Violent films is what people want to see and that what makes Hollywood the big money.

2) Hollywood is exploiting the gun violence that goes on around America and since these real life gun tragedies get so huge in the media. This is what makes Hollywood keep the violence going in PG-13 movies. Controversy sells, that’s the trick here.

It’s sad that people don’t wanna see serious films anymore.  I’m talking serious films like drama based on real life events or history kind of films. Nobody wants to see that stuff. Everybody wants to see violent action-packed movies… that’s why that genre is so huge. Horror films are becoming a dying industry because of it. Nobody wants to see romantic movies anymore either (with the exception of the Twilight/50 Shades franchise but that’s a different story).

Look, I like violent and action-packed movies myself, yo. Action movies is what I grew up on but we need a variety of films here. It used to be that action movies came out during the spring/summer time but when the fall/winter comes, they’ll start showing all the serious dramas. It’s not like that anymore. There are violent action films all year-round now. It’s crazy.

To make a simple point, nobody wants to see serious movies like “Lincoln” or “42”… these days everyone wants to see stuff like “Transformers”, “Jason Bourne”, and all of these super-hero flicks.

I like action movies, yes but I like to watch all kinds of movies. I watch everything: action, horror, drama, comedy, thrillers, etc. I just like a good movie no matter the genre.

Hollywood is going to keep making violent movies as long as it helps make them the money. I’ve been paying attention to Hollywood for years now and it’s interesting how it changes. Not only that everybody is obsessed with violent movies… they are also obsessed with 3D… reboots and remakes.

While I am a big movie buff and go to the movies pretty often… I’m kind of bothered at how Hollywood is going right now.

Why I dislike competitions, contests, and best of’s in the Capital Region…

Over the years, you have seen me talk a lot of shit about competitions, contests, and best of’s that usually happen around the Capital Region — the Albany music scene. First we have the Battle of the Bands at SPAC, then we have a few best of’s in the Metroland, the Times Union does a best of too, and now we have the Jammy’s at Trickshot. Why I don’t like these things, you may ask? Well, I explained it before and I don’t mind doing it again. Not only that these things are a popularity contest, I just feel that this area doesn’t have the right to tell us who is “best” around here. The same acts that get the same mention everywhere you see: EBJ, Wild Adriatic, Sirsy, etc. — don’t get me wrong, those artists are great (I’m not knocking their music) but they are indeed not the best in this area. I’m pretty sure there are bands and solo artists who are a lot more talented than them but you don’t see them get any mentions anywhere in local media? That’s why I put up that rant about “local media” not too long ago ’cause I really believe the way this area promotes local music is horrible.

The people should be able to do the choosing of who is best around here. We don’t need these competitions or best of’s telling us who is best and then they shove these artists in our faces. Look around, folks. There are SO MANY talented bands & artists around here who are pretty amazing and sick at what they do but they all struggle to get recognition in the scene. This area really needs to stop relying on bands/artists who have a big following and give other artists a chance.

To be honest, I think all of us are the best at what we do… even the beginners and amateurs who try to get themselves out there.

Yes, some people will come around and call me jealous but I’m not… I don’t give a shit if I don’t win a competition or get a mention in some stupid “best of”. If I did, I would have laughed it off and ignored it. I would have said, “Screw you, get my name off of there”. If I get mentioned anywhere, I don’t jerk myself off like so many musicians do. All musicians seem to be flattered and honored ’cause they get mentioned somewhere in the media or on the internet. To me, I don’t really care.

I just want to make music for me and for the few people who support it. To me that’s more rewarding than getting some silly award or getting your name in the paper, I don’t give a shit about that. I just wanna make music and get it out there.

I know I’m coming across as negative and people around the music scene will call me a troll and stuff but I’m not afraid to be realistic. I’m not afraid to tell the truth… at least, my truth that is.

Even if I don’t get any mentions in music best of’s or haven’t won an an imaginary award, I’m still pretty happy where I am musically. I think I am still pretty well known around this area as a musician. People follow my online web presence… they listen to my music, I have a decent amount of views in my youtube channel, and yes, I have my own “fan following” as well — believe it or not. I have my share of supporters and fans as well… I know they are out there.

These days, musicians are pretty desperate to get recognition everywhere as much as they can and they shouldn’t worry about that, in my opinion. They need to keep their focus on making music for the people who support them.

We’re not rock stars or celebrities… we’re all local musicians. That’s all there is to it, folks, and that’s what I’ve been trying to explain for years. Who cares about moving forward and getting to the next level. Just be appreciative of what you have now. Stop acting like these competitions or “best of’s” are so big ’cause they don’t mean anything and you know it. Bands don’t wanna publicly admit it ’cause everyone wants to treat local music “positively”. It’s pretty ridiculous and a load of crock.

Did President Obama have a past with smoking crack???

In a response to a political post in facebook about Jay Leno ripping Obama on the “Tonight Show”… Jay Leno made a joke about Obama smoking crack and in response… I posted this:

“Even though Leno was joking about Obama smoking crack… Obama really did have a past with smoking crack… look it up…”

My comment quickly got a 100 likes and will probably get a lot more later.

I thought to myself, “Wow! I never had that many thumbs up on a facebook comment before!”. Which is true.

Sure, Obama having a past with illegal drugs is just a rumor for now but I totally believe it’s true. That could be part of how Obama is today. The drugs is what may have turned him into a pathological liar and a power hungry egomaniac.

See? I’m not alone about Obama’s shady past… a lot of people know.

In defense of Lou Reed’s singing…

I know Lou Reed’s singing can be pretty critical over the years. It wasn’t just the Lulu album with Metallica that what made Lou’s singing critical. People have been criticizing Lou’s singing for years. Lou’s singing can be pretty debatable, yes…  and his music wasn’t for everybody.

To be honest though, when you want to become a musician and write songs… you don’t really need to be a great singer to do what you wanna do. I mean… look at musicians like Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Billy Corgan, Tom Petty, Kurt Cobain, Neil Young, etc. They weren’t the greatest singers in the world. They sing anyway ’cause that’s what they wanted to do.

In music, I always saw vocals as something less-important. I’m more worried about how good the song is than how good the singing is. You don’t need to be a trained singer or be an opera singer with a powerful voice. I care most for the song’s melody. As long as the melody is good and the lyrics are written well… who cares about the singing, ya know? I think it’s pretty unfair that people would criticize a performer’s singing.

Sure… Lou Reed sings like he’s using his regular speaking voice and he’s not actually singing… but there are some songs where he actually sang on. Perfectly example, he showed his real singing chops for the hit, “Perfect Day”. His vocals were beautiful in that song.

With all this being said, if you don’t sing good… who cares. If you want to play music, write songs and sing… then do it. As long as your songs are good… people won’t care whether your singing is good or not. You don’t have to be the best singer in the world like all those kids in American Idol, The Voice, etc. All that is a load of crock anyways.

I was never professionally trained but I’m still trying to find ways to get better. I’m teaching myself to sing better ’cause I wanna be able to sing the high notes which is what I’m working with my own music. Don’t worry about trying to be the next Celine Dion or Chris Cornell. Vocals aren’t important at all. It’s the song. The music. If you don’t have the singing chops… you can just use your regular speaking voice as your vocals. I’ve always felt that if you write your own music, you sing it yourself… it didn’t matter whether your voice was good or not.

A lot of people listen to music ’cause they look for the best “singing” voice but not me. I’m more worried about how the song is written like I said: the melody, harmony, lyrical structure, the music, the guitar parts, etc.

Back to Lou Reed… he probably knew that he wasn’t that great of a singer… that’s why he had Nico sing in the Velvet Underground ’cause there were some parts in the songs that he couldn’t sing himself. Even if Lou wasn’t that great of a singer… he was still the master at giving what the songs needed.

Even if Lou Reed has passed away people are still criticizing his singing over the years so I thought I would write in my thoughts in response to all of this.

Where is that nomination list for the Jammy’s???

Tier One Talent was supposed to post the nomination list for the Jammy’s at noon today… well it’s almost 5 p.m. here and this guy is like, 5 hours late.

See what I mean, here.

I’m warning you all out there that the guy behind, Tier One Talent, is not to be trusted. He just made a promise that the nominations will be posted at noon and it’s not there. He’s an unprofessional amateur at best. Irresponsible and disorganized.

It’s gonna be interesting to see how the Jammy Awards turn out. I think they won’t get a good turn out and like 1 or 2 people will show up or it may not even happen at all.

Tier One Talent trying to make himself look like a professional promoter but the writing on his facebook page is really bad. If you want to be a promoter for local music… take some writing classes and be more organized so people can understand the instructions for the nominations.

I never met the guy behind Tier One Talent but I know the name which I won’t reveal on this blog.

An award show at some stupid pool table hall??? LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t let anyone stop you from telling the truth about Obama…

“We cannot allow fear of what we will be called deter us from telling the truth about obama.” – Mychal Massie (quote stolen from facebook)

For the last 5 years that Obama have been President… I’ve been called racist, crazy, an uneducated nut job, and lots of other things for getting all over Obama over the years. Yes, I know my online Obama protests is gonna get me into a little trouble but I don’t care. I’m gonna keep telling the truth about Obama, no matter the consequences. Yes, plenty of people have blocked me in facebook and have gotten into heated debates against liberals. I’ve been called racist and worse things. Drama even happens on my own blog. People don’t talk to me in person anymore ’cause of this stuff.

People mistakenly believe that I’m trying to get him impeached… yes, part of that is true… I would like him to be gone but that’s not really my goal. My goal is trying to get the American people to realize who they just elected. Trying to give people a reality check that they elected the wrong guy. Trying to get people to wake up.

I  understand that many out there don’t like Obama as well but they still don’t see him as a pathological liar, traitor to our country, and a cold-blooded serial murderer. They just don’t wanna accept that truth even if the facts are out there in the media and in the news. Some believe that he has done nothing impeachable and they even see him as a harmless and innocent man.

When George W. Bush was president… people hated him for all the bad things he has done… nobody would have a problem with it. When it comes to Obama; however, people will get in trouble. See what’s wrong with the picture, here? It’s interesting how people react to the Obama hate.

We don’t hate on him for no reason, folks. One day you WILL realize that we were right all along about him and trust me, you’ll thank us later.

I don’t do this for attention for myself… I don’t do it to spark controversy or drama or any of that stuff. I do it ’cause I believe in my country. That’s why the conservatives/libertarian people do what they do. They hate on Obama ’cause they believe in our country. It is our way of defending our homeland. We just want what’s best for our country and our fellow Americans. We don’t hate liberal people either. We are doing this out of love for them. Trying to get them to wake up and get them to realize that our country is in danger.

I’m scared of Obama being in that White House. Really, I am. You should be too.

No matter how many people continue to get on my ass about Obama, I’m not stopping.

Obama administration trying their best to keep Benghazi story off of media…

CBS and Lara Logan who reported the story on Benghazi admitted they were wrong and apologized for blaming the White House.

More on the story, here.

How come you don’t see the Benghazi story reported in the news that much? It’s because the Obama administration wanted it that way. They’re trying to keep the news media quiet about Benghazi obviously.

CBS didn’t have to apologize for the story. They had every right to report it ’cause the 1st amendment protects that and it was part of their job. So the Obama administration obviously had a long talk with CBS behind the scenes so they forced Lara to apologize and she did it so she can keep her job. I think the Obama administration paid CBS to do it aka hush money.

More proof that the Obama administration are trying to keep Benghazi off the media… is that they went after Sharyl Atkinson too… they hacked her computer, I believe.  Jay Carney ignores questions on Benghazi at the press conferences and Obama pretends he doesn’t know anything but claims he’s trying to get to the bottom of it.

If it’s ever proven that Obama and Hillary were responsible for Benghazi… it’s gonna get out to the media no matter how hard they try. Obama and Hillary can hide the truth about Benghazi all they want to but we’ll get the truth from them ourselves.

They are cold blooded murderers and they need to be held accountable. What makes them think they can get away with it?

“Star Wars: Episode VII” release date announced for Dec. 18th, 2015…

Welp, apparently Disney and Lucasfilm are in a big rush for “Star Wars 7” as they promised long ago. They confirmed a release date for Dec. 18th, 2015, and if you think about it… that’s not so far up ahead. Do you think JJ can make a good Star Wars movie in a year??? Read the press release, here.

The title and synopsis is still not yet known but we’ll know soon enough. Now that they have a director, writers, composer (John Williams), and a release date… they should start casting soon. So we will soon know whether or not Harrison, Mark and Carrie are returning. I think there’s a 100% chance of them returning. They claim they haven’t been signed yet but I think it’s a lie so they won’t reveal too many surprises. I think the original trio signed as soon as Lucas sold Lucas film to Disney.

What will the next movie be like? It’s gonna be interesting to find out who the main villain will be. Hopefully, they won’t bring Darth Vader back. We need a new and original villain. I’m sure C3P0 and R2D2 will return. Chewbacca will come back as well… maybe Lando? I hope Han Solo will reunite with his Millennium Falcon ’cause that would be pretty badass! I’m sure we’ll get lightsaber fights, spaceship battles and the usual family/friendly stuff for the kids.

I hope JJ will do a good job and don’t mess it up. One thing to keep in mind, there’s going to be lens flare all over the film, though. You know how JJ is obsessed with that.

Obama’s possible homosexuality… finally ousted???

I didn’t watch this video yet but will so I’m posting it anyway so I can save it. A woman who is an old high school friend of Obama had an interview with the Manning Report and ousted Obama’s homosexuality. Some would say she’s just messed up and making it up but don’t be surprised if turns out true.

This video is getting pretty viral and if it gets out to the news media… then this could be pretty damaging to Obama’s presidency.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Obama is a closeted homosexual. I’ve been saying that on this blog for ages. I didn’t watch this video yet but I believe that Obama could be gay.
